Jonathan Cahn: The Israel-Hamas End-Time Mystery

Jonathan Cahn: Was there a mystery behind what just happened in Israel – behind Gaza and Hamas? Was it foretold? Was it part of something ancient? Does it have to do with the end times? Is Hamas in the Bible? Is there an ancient mystery that revealed, and could have told us, it would happen and the timing when it would happen? …

In Luke, we see Jesus predicting that “all things which are written may be fulfilled”. Obviously, this would include all written prophecy. Jesus said…

THESE are days of vengeance, in order that all things which are written may be fulfilled. (Luke 21:22)

The THESE days of Luke 21:22 were the first century. The entire context of Luke 21 pertains to the destruction of Jewish temple and its religious community (what ancient Israelites called “heaven and earth”) which happened in 70AD. All, including all Psalms and Ezekiel was fulfilled by the time of the destruction of the temple.

My friend, the text does not say that all prophecies would suddenly be fulfilled with the destruction of the Jewish temple, but rather in order for prophecies previously written to be fulfilled the destruction of the Jewish temple must first take place:

Luke 21:22, “For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.”

What was previously written? That the nation of Israel would be scattered, their house would be made desolate, that God would gather the Jewish people back to the land of Israel after a period of exile and dispersion. For example:

Ezekiel 36:24-28, “For I will take you from among the nations, gather you out of all countries, and bring you into your own land. Then I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean; I will cleanse you from all your filthiness and from all your idols. I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them. Then you shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; you shall be My people, and I will be your God…”

This has only happened in part in 1948 and is still in the process of being fulfilled. When will it ultimately be? Read Ezekiel and Zechariah for when the Lord gathers the surrounding nations for judgement, makes His Holy Name known to the world when Christ returns to destroy the nations that come up against Israel, sets His feet upon the Mount of Olives (Zech. 14:4) and pours out His Spirit upon the remnant of Israel:

Zechariah 12:10, “And I will pour on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and supplication; then they will look on Me whom they pierced. Yes, they will mourn for Him as one mourns for his only son, and grieve for Him as one grieves for a firstborn…”

Ezekiel 39:27-29, “When I have brought them back from the peoples and gathered them out of their enemies’ lands, and I am hallowed in them in the sight of many nations, then they shall know that I am the LORD their God, who sent them into captivity among the nations, but also brought them back to their land, and left none of them captive any longer. And I will not hide My face from them anymore; for I shall have poured out My Spirit on the house of Israel,’ says the Lord GOD.”

Surely, you don’t believe that this has all been fulfilled. If you believe that, then it’s, to be frank, a myopic and hopeless eschatology. Prophecy is still in the process of being fulfilled, today, and it will not be complete until the New Heaven and the New Earth (Revelation 21-22)
