Why have so many Muslim nations and countries with large Muslim populations become abject failures? John describes the rider of the Black Horse in Revelation 6:5 as having “scales” or “balances” in his hands, using the Greek word “zygos” which is also understood metaphorically to the “burden” or “bondage” of “troublesome laws.” When Sharia Law is imposed anywhere Islam spreads, the antithesis of peace and justice and blessing and social cohesion is produced. From its inception the Islamic world has been, and continues to be, ravaged by war and lawlessness and famine and death, conditions that are true both physically and spiritually. And across Nigeria and beyond, it shows no signs of slowing down …

World Food Programme: Mass-Killings And Abductions Spark Disruption Which Will Lead To ‘Catastrophic Hunger’ – “Resurgent jihadist attacks and instability in northern Nigeria are pushing hunger to unprecedented levels with thousands facing ‘famine-like conditions’, the World Food Programme (WFP) said on Tuesday. Nearly 35 million people in northern Nigeria are ‘projected to face severe food insecurity during the 2026 lean season’, which stretches from May to September, the UN agency said in a statement. In Borno state, the epicentre of the 16-year-long jihadist insurgency, around 15,000 people ‘are projected to reach catastrophic hunger’ or ‘famine-like conditions’, WFP said in a statement. The conflict has killed more than 40,000 people and displaced around two million others in the northeast and spilled into neighbouring countries. Besides Boko Haram in the northeast, Nigeria also suffers violence led by ‘bandit’ gangs in the centre and northwest, which raid villages, kill people and kidnap for ransom.” Read more.

Nigerian Christian Group Says 303 Children, 12 Teachers Seized In Latest Mass Kidnapping – “A Christian group on Saturday said 315 students and teachers were seized a day earlier in Nigeria’s second mass school abduction in a week, as security fears mounted in Africa’s most populous nation. The early Friday raid on St Mary’s co-education school in Niger state in central Nigeria came after gunmen on Monday stormed a secondary school in neighboring Kebbi state, abducting 25 girls. The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) said the new number came ‘after a verification exercise’ following the early Friday mass kidnapping, and added that ‘The total number of victims abducted … is now 303 students and 12 teachers.’ The number of boys and girls kidnapped from St Mary’s is almost half of the school’s student population of 629… In a separate attack on a church in western Nigeria on Tuesday, gunmen killed two people during a service that was being broadcast online. Christians Killed In Northwest Nigeria, Homes Burned In Northeast – “Seven Christians, including a 12-year-old boy, were mourned… after they were killed in an attack in Kaduna state, Nigeria, the same day Islamic extremists burned homes and a church building in Borno state. At a funeral in Damakasuwa town, Kauru County in northwest Nigeria’s southern Kaduna state, hundreds of people including many from outside the area attended the service for the Christians slain… ‘We have laid to rest seven of our beloved Christians who were killed by terrorists and Fulani herdsmen,’ area resident Daniel Dodo told Christian Daily International-Morning Star News. ‘The funeral is a ceremony of tears being shed by Christians in the midst of deliberate violence against us because of our Christian faith.’ The funeral was held for Yohanna Adamu, 46; Bala Bude Chawai, 57; Yakubu Bala, 50; Abubakar Ya’u, 30; Ishaya Dauda, 56; Monday Nveneh, 46; and Savior Emmanuel, 12. ‘This funeral has became a powerful display of unity, faith and shared resilience for Christians,’ Dodo said.” Read more.

Mother Recounts Horror Of Watching Jihadists Murder Her Five Children – “A woman who survived the Yelwata massacre in Benue state has given emotional testimony to the United States Congress, recounting how she watched her five children murdered during the attack. Msurshima Apeh appeared virtually before the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on Africa as lawmakers examined President Donald Trump’s decision to return Nigeria to the Country of Particular Concern list. Apeh told the panel that armed men invaded the camp where displaced families were sleeping. She said she had put her children to bed shortly before the attackers struck… ‘When we went to sleep that night around 9 pm, the Fulani terrorists attacked us where we were sleeping. We were locked inside the camp, Yelwata, and they were butchering them with cutlasses and shooting guns as well. When the torture had finished at some point in time, they poured petrol on the building and the majority of them were set ablaze,’ she said. Nigerian Government Welcomes Saudi Cleric Who Preaches Killing, Enslavement Of Non-Muslims Worldwide – “President Bola Tinubu’s administration, on Friday, allowed into Nigeria a Saudi Arabian-born Islamic fundamentalist, Sheikh Assim Al Hakeem, who charges Muslims to enslave and kill non-Muslims who refuse to convert to Islam, pay taxation to an Islamic government, and obey the Sharia law worldwide. The Muslim cleric, a proponent of absolute Sharia who was banned from speaking at United Kingdom’s universities in 2012 over his extremist views, arrived Nigeria on Friday amid uproar against Christian genocide in Africa’s most populous country. The Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman (MBS), had also generally sought to distance the country from the ultra-conservative interpretation of Islam that Mr Hakeem represents. In a YouTube video posted on April 1, 2020, which has now garnered 86,993 views, with over 2,800 likes, Mr Hakeem charged Muslims to prepare for the next 40 to 50 years to conquer the world, enslave and kill non-Muslims who refuse to convert to Islam, pay taxes to Islamic government or obey the Sharia law.” Read more.
