ISIS Destroys Hundreds Of Crates Of Food Aid As Thousands Of Refugees Face Starvation

The Book of Revelation forewarned us that things like these would happen. It forewarned us of the nature of the Beast …

Revelation 6:8, “And I looked, and behold a [chlōros – green] horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts [thērion – savage, brutal, bestial menof the earth…”

By Tom Wyke and John Hall, Mail Online – “Depraved Islamic State militants have deliberately destroyed hundreds of boxes of American-produced Halal chicken despite hundreds of thousands facing starvation in war-torn Syria.

The barbaric terror group released photos show crates of chicken being set alight in a field near the city of Aleppo even though the meat being was slaughtered according to Islamic law and was perfectly fit for consumption.

The food was burned after the jihadis noticed labels on the boxes that suggested the birds had been reared and slaughtered in the United States – something ISIS considers so beyond the pale that hungry refugees on the brink of starving to death are banned from eating the meat.

The images of the chicken burning were released by the Islamic State’s official propaganda wing in Aleppo province, which the militants refer to by its ancient name, Halab.

The photo shows a close up shot of the apparent label, which states the meat had been produced by an Illinois-based company and inspected by the U.S. food standard agency.

Certified as Halal, meaning it has been slaughtered in accordance with Islamic Law, it is believed the meat was destined for the thousands of starving refugees in the city of Aleppo.

Instead, the two lorries were stopped by ISIS’ religious police force – known as Al-Hesbah – at a checkpoint in Aleppo province, where the cargo was deemed unlawful.” Read more.

Somalia: Muslim Terror Group Burns Food Aid Vehicles In Bay Region

01/15/2015 1 comment

Like the internet and television, something may have been found to remind people that there is another faith to believe in that is far superior to Islam …

Revelation 6:8, “And I looked, and behold a [chlōros – green] horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts [thērion – savage, brutal, bestial men] of the earth…”

allAfrica – “Al-Shabaab militants have set fire to vehicles transporting food aid to Goof Gaduud district in Bay region, Somalia’s Radio Danan reported Thursday (January 8th).

Vehicles carrying bagaash, or smaller food items, were waylaid before they were set ablaze, said Goof Gaduud District Commissioner Ahmed Adan Mohamed.

The vehicles were bringing food aid from Baidoa to Goof Gaduud residents, he said, adding that the motive for the attack is not clear.

Al-Shabaab has attacked convoys attempting to deliver food in the past.” Source – allAfrica.

Flashback: Somalia: Islamist Group Bans Triangular Samosas Because They Might Remind People Of The Trinity – “Somalia’s al-Shabaab group has banned samosas after ruling the popular snacks are ‘offensive’ and too Christian. Militant Islamist fighters last week used vehicles mounted with loudspeakers to announce the bizarre ruling across the regions of the war-torn country it controls. The extremist group has offered no official explanation for the ban on the triangular snacks … It is now thought islamist militants have taken offence at the three-sided samosa’s supposed resemblance to symbol of the Christian Holy Trinity.” Read more.

Flashback: Somalia: Children Continue to Suffer from Hunger as Islamists Hinder Food Aid – “Children in Somalia continue to suffer needlessly from hunger as politics hinder the much needed distribution of food aid. In Somalia, it is women and children who bear the brunt of the famine. Children are susceptible to malnutrition that decreases their ability to fight off disease, while women are unable to access the services they need and carry the responsibility of caring for their families. Malnutrition is the largest contributor to global child mortality and is the cause of one-third of child deaths, which amounts to some 15 million children dying of hunger each year.” Read more.

Precursor To Armageddon? Turkish Gov’t Completely Cuts Off Euphrates Water Supply, May Bring “Unprecedented Catastrophes” To Region

06/01/2014 5 comments

Revelation 16:12-16, “Then the sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates, and its water was dried up, so that the way of the kings from the east might be prepared… to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty… to the place called in Hebrew, Armageddon.”

By Suhaib Anjarini, Al-Alakhbar – “Two weeks ago, the Turkish government once again intervened in the Syrian crisis. This time was different from anything it had attempted before and the repercussions of which may bring unprecedented catastrophes onto both Iraq and Syria.

Violating international norms, the Turkish government recently cut off the water supply of the Euphrates River completely. In fact, Ankara began to gradually reduce pumping Euphrates water about a month and half ago, then cut if off completely two weeks ago, according to information received by Al-Akhbar.

A source who spoke on the condition of anonymity revealed that water levels in the Lake Assad (a man-made water reservoir on the Euphrates) recently dropped by six meters from its normal levels (which means losing millions of cubic meters of water). The source warned that ‘a further drop of one additional meter would put the dam out of service.’

‘We should cut off or reduce the water output of the dam, until the original problem regarding the blockage of the water supply is fixed,’ the source explained.

The Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) controlling the region the dam is located in did not suspend the water output. Employees of the General Institution of the Euphrates Dam are running the lake under the supervision of al-Qaeda linked ISIS, but they don’t have the authority to take serious decisions, such as reducing the water output. In addition, such a step is a mere attempt to ease the situation, and it will lose its efficacy if the water supply isn’t restored to the dam by Turkey.

The tragic repercussions of the new Turkish assault began to reveal themselves when water levels dropped in al-Khafsa in Aleppo’s eastern countryside (where a water pumping station from Lake Assad is located to pump water through water channels to Aleppo and its countryside).

Meanwhile, water supplies in auxiliary reservoirs in al-Khafsa are close to being depleted and the reservoirs are expected to run out of water completely by tonight or tomorrow morning at the latest. This threatens to leave seven million Syrians without access to water. Also, Tishrin Dam stopped receiving any water which blocked its electricity generating turbines, decreasing the power supply in Aleppo and its countryside, further intensifying the already severe imbalance in the power supply.

In Raqqa, the northern side of Lake Assad is today completely out of service. Two million Syrians living in the region covering the villages of Little Swaydiya to the east until al-Jarniya to the west could lose their drinking water supply. ‘Losing water supplies in the dam means that the silt in the lake will dry off which would pressure its structure, subjecting it to fissures and eventually total collapse,’ Al-Akhbar sources warned, adding ‘it is crucial to shut down the dam to stop its collapse.’

However, shutting down the dam (if ISIS agrees) will only lead to a human and ecological (zoological and agricultural) catastrophe in Syria and in Iraq.” Read more.

In A Punishing War, Bread Is Now A Barometer Of The Suffering In Syria

Revelation 6:6a, “Then I heard what sounded like a voice among the four living creatures, saying, ‘Two pounds of wheat for a day’s wages, and six pounds of barley for a day’s wages …”

By Lyse Doucet, BBC News – “In a punishing war, bread is now a barometer of Syrians’ suffering. Even their most basic food has become hard to find, even harder to afford.

In the past two years of a worsening crisis, bread prices have risen by 500% in some areas, according to a new survey obtained by the BBC from the International Rescue Committee (IRC).

Four out of five Syrians say their greatest worry is that food will run out.

‘These findings show us that starvation is now threatening large parts of the Syrian population,’ warns IRC President David Miliband.

In many embattled cities and towns, shortage of fuel, flour and electricity means bakeries and bread can be almost impossible to find.

And in parts of rural Damascus besieged by government forces and in areas in the north cut off by rebel fighters, bread is a symbol of hardship.

‘We haven’t eaten a piece of bread in nine months,’ was the anguished cry of many Syrians we met as they fled the southern Damascus suburb of Moadamiya during a partial evacuation in late October.

Eating less
At government-run bakeries, the price of bread has not changed in 20 years. A traditional flat round piece still only costs two Syrian pounds (£0.01; $0.02).

On a bitterly cold winter’s day, Syrians bang their fists on the metal doors of a large bakery in central Damascus, shouting for more bread to be brought out. Syrians of all ages rush by with towering stacks of warm flat loaves.

‘We count on this bread for all our meals,’ one man told me as he clutched bags, three kilos full, to feed his own family, as well as some friends.

‘In private bakeries we would have to pay 10 times more,’ another man chimes in.

A few streets away, at a crowded distribution site for the World Food programme, country director Matthew Hollingworth observes that ‘people are eating less, eating less often, and the quality of food is also less’.

‘Cereal production is down by 40%,’ he points out, ‘and the imports are not there to cover the gap.'” Read more.

Unsealed: A Closer Look At Revelation 6 And ‘The Four Horsemen Of The Apocalypse’ – “Because of ‘Sharia lawlessness’ the ‘Religion of Peace’ is typified by widespread destruction and disparity, and any number of recent headlines bear this out all too well… In Mali, 4.6 million people are threatened with starvation following Islamist advances in the north. Starvation threatens more than 7 million citizens in Afghanistan as over 90% of the country’s agriculture is destroyed by drought. In Somalia, Islamist militants deprive 1.3 million people of food, clean water and health care after banning humanitarian aid… Nigeria faces famine because most of the farmers in the north are threatened by Islamist attacks seeking to impose Sharia Law upon all. As Islamists engage in an all-out war to oust Bashar Al-Assad and implement an Islamist state in Syria, a flesh-eating parasite dubbed the ‘Aleppo Boil’ sweeps across the country while famine grips a desperate, war-weary population… The fruit of Islam and its laws have produced and will continue to produce the type of conditions that precipitate and perpetuate all sort of pestilences, all manner of plagues, any number of conflicts and hardships both inside and outside the Islamic world.” Read more.

Video: Walid Shoebat On Bible Prophecy And The Islamic Antichrist

10/29/2013 8 comments

Here is a good video of Walid Shoebat, particularly for those who haven’t yet been introduced to Bible prophecy from the perspective of an Islamic end-times paradigm …

1 Thessalonians 5:19-21, “Do not quench the Spirit. Do not despise prophecies. Test all things; hold fast what is good.”

Jerry McGlothlin, CleanTV President: “Hi, I’m Jerry McGlothlin, President of CleanTV. Our presenter, Walid Shoebat, is going to talk to you about the Bible, prophecy, things in a different way than you’ve ever heard them before. We’ve heard of people like Tim Lahaye and the Left Behind series and you tend to wonder, ‘How can 50 million copies of these books have been sold?’ … The interesting thing is most things in life don’t have 100% of truth with them, and a lot of these things we’ve heard before about the rapture, the tribulation, etc., there’s a lot of truth in it. But I challenge you to listen to what you’re about to hear and see if you’ve ever heard truth like this before. This fills in the gaps. I don’t know about you, but when I’ve heard about prophecy before in the past something was missing. And I think you’re [about] to see it right now. Walid Shoebat connects the dots. From an ancient biblical perspective he takes the old, the prophecies of old, the major beliefs of our fathers of faith and connects them with the current days … Listen and watch, and prayerfully consider if what you’re about to see and hear is true … ”

Syria: ‘Religion Of Peace’ Rebels Reject Peace Talks As 115,000 Now Reported Dead, 50% Of Population In Poverty

10/28/2013 1 comment

War, death, pestilence, famine. Behold the destructive fruit of “Allah’s” religion

Isaiah 48:22, “‘There is no peace,’ says the LORD, ‘for the wicked.’”

By Elad Benari, INN – “Powerful armed groups in Syria said on Sunday that attending peace talks or negotiating with the regime would be an act of betrayal, AFP reported.

The joint declaration by the 19 Islamist groups fighting to topple President Bashar Al-Assad cast further doubt on whether the long-delayed peace talks dubbed ‘Geneva 2’ will actually go ahead.

It comes as the UN-Arab League peace envoy to Syria, Lakhdar Brahimi, prepares to travel to Damascus on Monday, according to pro-regime newspaper Al-Watan.

‘We announce that the Geneva 2 conference is not, nor will it ever be our people’s choice or our revolution’s demand,’ the groups said in a statement read out by Suqur al-Sham brigade chief Ahmad Eissa al-Sheikh in a video posted online.

‘We consider it just another part of the conspiracy to throw our revolution off track and to abort it,’ said the statement, according to AFP.

The 19 rebel groups warned that anyone who went to such talks would be committing ‘treason, and … would have to answer for it before our courts.’

The statement comes weeks after dozens of major insurgent groups across Syria said the Western-backed opposition umbrella grouping, the Syrian National Coalition (SNC), had ‘failed.’

The Syrian National Council, a key group within the SNC, had said it would not attend proposed peace talks in Geneva and would quit the Coalition if it participated.

This group was later followed by nearly 70 rebels groups which declared that the SNC had failed and announced they no longer recognize the Western-backed group.” Read more.

Luke 21:10-11, “Then He said to them, ‘Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be great earthquakes in various places, and famines and pestilences; and there will be fearful sights and great signs from heaven …'”

The Greek word for “earthquakes” in Luke 21:11 is “seismos” and also means “commotion” or “tempest”, as in Matthew 8:24 when “suddenly a great tempest [seismos] arose on the sea, so that the boat was covered with the waves”. The earth has been shaken and will continue to be shaken by “seismic events” both literally (geophysical and hydrological hazards such as earthquakes, volcanoes, hurricanes, tornadoes, etc.) and figuratively (wars and rumors of war, terrorism, insurrections, revolutions), for in sin this world has fallen and, until the restoration of all things, the whole of creation will continue to groan and labor with birth pangs because of it (Romans 8:22) …

‘A Public Health Nightmare’: Meet The ‘Aleppo Boil’, A Flesh-Eating Parasite Sweeping Across Syria

With reports like this I cannot help but to think of Revelation 16 and the bowls of the wrath of God …

Revelation 16:1-2, 11, “Then I heard a loud voice from the temple saying to the seven angels, ‘Go and pour out the bowls of the wrath of God on the earth.’ So the first went and poured out his bowl upon the earth, and a foul and loathsome sore came upon the men who had the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image… They blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, and did not repent of their deeds.”

Matthew 24:7, “For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; and there will be famines, plagues, and earthquakes in various places.”

By Erin Banco, Foreign Policy – “A crowd gathers at the center of Bab al-Salam, a refugee camp on the Turkey-Syria border that is home to some 13,500 internally displaced Syrians. Children sit at their mothers’ feet, playing with plastic toys in the melting mud. One boy’s cheeks are pocked with small red dots; a boy next to him, wearing nothing but a diaper, has a large crusted lesion on his leg — signs of an infectious skin disease that is spreading throughout Syria and the neighboring region.

Since war came to Syria a little more than two years ago, the country has been transformed into a public health nightmare. Gastroenteritis, which causes severe diarrhea, vomiting, and abdominal pain, is ubiquitous among displaced populations — both inside and outside Syria — and a measles epidemic is currently sweeping the northern portion of the country. (At least 7,000 cases of the disease have been detected since 2011, according to Doctors Without Borders.) An outbreak of water-borne diseases such as hepatitis, typhoid, cholera, and dysentery, meanwhile, is all but ‘inevitable,’ according to the World Health Organization (WHO).

But in camps like Bab al-Salam, it is a silent, flesh-eating parasite that is literally leaving its mark on the population. Cutaneous leishmaniasis, also known as the ‘Aleppo evil’ or the ‘Aleppo boil,’ is carried by sand flies and causes painful lesions that can become secondarily infected, often resulting in disfigurement. Another form of leishmaniasis — visceral — affects the spleen and liver, and it is the second-largest parasitic killer in the world after malaria. Mercifully, it is only the nonlethal parasite that is coursing through the Syrian countryside, where years of fighting has made seeking medical treatment extraordinarily difficult. Still, the parasite leaves its victims scarred for life.

According to the WHO, which has set up an early-warning system to monitor the disease in all 14 of Syria’s governorates, 1,047 cases of cutaneous leishmaniasis were reported between April 14 and May 18 of this year. The majority of those cases occurred in Aleppo, where the disease was endemic prior to the crisis, but an increasing number have cropped up among internally displaced people in Syria’s Tartus governorate, where the disease was previously unreported. Thousands of additional cases have been reported in bordering countries in the last year.

Still, the WHO has yet to classify the increasing number of cases as an official outbreak, which would require a twofold increase in the number of reported cases among all age groups since last year. ‘Despite articles or videos circulating in the media talking about an ‘outbreak’ of cutaneous leishmaniasis, WHO has not received up to date any systematic epidemiological data to ascertain that,’ Jose Postigo, an expert on leishmaniasis at the WHO, told Foreign Policy in an email. ‘But the disease is highly endemic in parts of the country.'” Read more.

Algerian Writer: Islamists And Jihadis Are A Cancer On The Face Of The World

06/24/2013 Leave a comment

Or, according to the inspired Word of God, a “dreadful and terrible” Beast, exceedingly strong that devours, breaks in pieces and tramples the residue with its feet …

Daniel 7:25, He will speak out against the Most High and wear down the saints of the Highest One, and he will intend to make alterations in times and in law; and they will be given into his hand for a time, times, and half a time.

John 16:2b, “… the time is coming when those who kill you will think they are doing a holy service for God.”

What man and his pompous words does the Islamic world revere above all others?

What man and his pompous words does the Islamic world revere above all others?

By Kamel Daoud, Le Quotidien via Gatestone Institute – “It is not going to stop, [instead] it keeps on reproducing itself in the cities of the Sahara, it becomes vocal and shouts, then kills, taking you by the throat; it destroys giant Buddhas and [people’s] bodies and advances like a desert that dries out even the desert itself: salafism/Islamism/fundamentalism, the cancer on the face of the world and on the will to live.

All this no longer obeys the ancient forms of the threat: it is no longer a brigade, a group or a front, but a sort of tumor: it may swell under your armpit or on the streets of London. It kills; we then arrest the killer, but we do not stop the disease. We kill the hostage taker, but not the malignant cell. And it has a banner, a sort of skein of darkness, that is waved in the dry and dead wind of a theological infinity. It is everywhere and it is like barbed wire running over your bare skin. Everywhere, as the living dead himself explains: ‘It is Allah who says that Sharia should be implemented.’ And ‘in Islam there is no democracy, for that would mean that people have the right to challenge Allah and to decide in His stead. This is inadmissible and one will not allow this heresy, may God protect us.’

Who is speaking? A dead cell, convinced that God spoke to it and that it has the right to infect a world that shines and replace it with a world that kills.

Unbelievable: at first, one might think that Islamism is an ideology, a policy or a line of thought. This is a simplistic point of view — political orthodoxy, conventional wisdom and ideas. No, we must also see through the prism on biology: It is a disease, which intends to devour the world, it is not an issue of faith and belief.

A salafist man is not looking for God, but in the dark, he is after your throat. He believes that the whole world must believe the way he does and, if it does not, it is the whole world that is ‘sick’ and must be brought back to the right path. By persuasion or by blood.

The salafist man finds it unbelievable that there are people who do not think the same way he does! He considers this difference as a personal attack. He is astonished that the whole world is not Muslim and he is going to correct this.

First of all, we must stop talking about ideas: It is a disease like the Plague in the Middle Ages. It is the disease of the century, but without poetry. It is a Read more…

Unsealed: A Closer Look At Revelation 6 And “The Four Horsemen Of The Apocalypse”

Revelation 6:1, “And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals, and I heard, as it were the noise of thunder, one of the four beasts saying, Come and see…”

Recommended: See How The Book Of Revelation Foresaw Islamic Teachings

Were John’s apocalyptic snapshots and descriptions of the “Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse” in the Book of Revelation pointing to events that would only take place nearly 2000 years after the visions were first revealed? All too often, many of today’s Christian teachers and Bible prophecy experts have repeated the belief that the entirety of the Book of Revelation, with the exception of the first three chapters, are to be understood in futuristic terms only. I have done this myself in the past. Whether it be the Seven Seals or the Seven Trumpets or the Seven Bowls of wrath, everything contained therein and described by John from Revelation 4:1 onward must be treated as little more than a description of apocalyptic earth-shattering events that we, as Christians, will never witness taking place upon the world in which we live, events that can only begin to come to fruition after an imminent rapture has suddenly removed all followers of Christ from the face of the earth to deliver them from the impending wrath of God and the last-days Beast of Revelation. If we take the time to engage in a careful examination of the text, however, we may begin to see that some of the events often understood as yet to come, are events that are already taking place today.

An Overview Of History: The Islamic Beast Of Revelation – The Past And The Present

After careful study, I have come to the conclusion that, judging from the description of events and their sequence provided for us in Scripture, the “Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse” described in the first four Seals of Revelation 6 are four separate Read more…

Israel Turns Back Egypt’s Plauge Of Locusts That Blackens Southern Sky, ‘I’ve Lived Here For 30 Years And We Have Yet To See Anything Like This’

03/06/2013 1 comment

Fortunately, a cold front is moving in, driving the cloud of locusts south and away from central Israel’s major population centers …

Update: Winds have changed, locusts reach Tel Aviv

By Aaron Kalman and Ron Friedman, The Times of Israel – “Israel’s spraying of agricultural fields in the south of the country Wednesday morning succeeded in turning the tide in a millions-strong locust invasion from across the Egyptian border. The Agriculture Ministry said that thanks to the crop-dusting, the locusts weren’t flying or able to lift off from the ground.

Two planes, assisted by ground crews and trucks, on Wednesday sprayed with pesticides the migrating insects that had settled in the area the day before. The teams sprayed a swath of 1,850 acres, beginning the procedure at 6 a.m and continuing into the early afternoon.

‘It’s like an insect cemetery down here,’ Omri Eytana, a farmer from Moshav Kmehin the Nitzana area, told Army Radio a little after 10 a.m. ‘There are [only] hundreds of locusts in the air, and they’re still spraying.’ He said his tomato crops were unharmed, because they are protected under nylon covers. Potato crops in the area were badly damaged, though, he said.

Shmuel Turgeman, who heads a government-run fund that organizes insurance for farmers, said the situation was ‘under control.’ Inspectors were out in the field gauging the extent of the damage to potatoes and other crops.

Though the locusts were moving northward, they were not expected to reach central Israel’s major population centers because of a cold front that was predicted to drive the insects to the south.

Southern Israel’s skies were blackened Tuesday by the wings of millions of the locusts as the largest infestation to hit the country in decades swarmed across the Egyptian border and settled to chow down on the crops of local farmers.

Local residents were instructed to stay indoors and close their windows and blinds.

‘I’ve lived here for 30 years and we have yet to see anything like this,’ said Yankale Moskovich, a farmer from Ramat Negev.” Read more.

Chad: Children Starve To Death As Islamic ‘Doctors’ With ‘Healing Gift From Allah’ Throw Common Sense Into The Wind

12/23/2012 5 comments

Allah apparently neglected to attend medical school …

Fox News – “MOUSSORO, Chad – On the day of their son’s surgery, the family woke before dawn. They saddled their horses and set out across the 12-mile-long carpet of sand to the nearest town, where they hoped the reputed doctor would cure their frail, feverish baby.

The neighboring town, almost as poor and isolated as their own, hosts a foreign-run emergency clinic for malnourished children. But that’s not where the family headed.

The doctor they chose treats patients behind a mud wall. His operating room is the sand lot that serves as his front yard. His operating table is a plastic mat lying on the dirt. His surgical tools include a screwdriver. And his remedy for malnourished children is the removal, without antiseptic or anesthesia, of their teeth and epiglottis…

There are now 32 clinics equipped with the latest technology to halt starvation, most within a few hours’ walk of affected families. If a child makes it to one of these centers in time, the chance of survival is remarkably high.

Yet acute malnutrition is only getting worse in the Sahel, where every year, cemeteries fill up with the bodies of children who wasted away within walking distance of help.

In 2010, 55,000 children were treated for the most acute form of malnutrition in Chad. In 2011, it was 65,000. The expected caseload for 2012 is 127,300, according to the report published in June. Overall, in the eight countries in the Sahel, the number of admissions has doubled in just three years…

Eight-month-old Abdallah Lamine had been sick for a month, but it wasn’t until he started vomiting that his parents made the trip to the medicine man, Haki Hassane…

The remedy the healer prescribes for malnourished children is the removal of the epiglottis, the tiny ball of flesh that hangs from the back of the throat, which he says ‘gets in the way of the food.’ For fever, he prescribes the removal of the child’s teeth.

In baby Abdallah’s case he prescribed both. He grabbed the baby by one arm, placed him on the mat and pinned him down. As the child began to shriek, he dug the unwashed screwdriver into the baby’s pink gums, until four tiny teeth popped out.

The healer wiped down the holes in the child’s mouth with a corner of a ratty blanket, stained with the blood of the other children he’d treated that day. Then he handed the petrified, whimpering toddler to his stone-faced mother.
