02/23/2012 Leave a comment

By Udi Etsion – “Israel’s ‘doomsday weapon’ revealed? The Navy will soon begin its test-deployment of Israel’s new super-submarine, Yedioth Ahronoth reported Wednesday.

The report quoted various foreign newspapers as saying that the new Dolphin-Class submarine’s systems will enable it to spends prolonged periods of time at sea and fire nuclear missiles.

The submarine, names the ‘INS Tannin,’ is also said to be equipped with special diesel and hydrogen conversion systems that will allow it to produce its own fuel; as well as with a stealth system making its acoustic signature virtually undetectable by sonar.

The INS Tannin (‘Alligator’) is the namesake of the Israel Navy’s first ever S-Class submarine, which was retired from active duty in 1972.

According to German media, the Tannin – which will be supplied by the end of 2012 – is the first of three super-submarine slated to eventually be deployed by the Navy. A second super-sub – the INS Rahav (‘Splendor’) will arrive in 2014 and the third, which has yet to be named, by 2015.

Germany’s Kieler Nachrichten newspaper said that the super-sub is the biggest and most advanced underwater vessel to be constructed in Germany since World War II.” Read more.

Muslim Passenger Detained After Causing Disturbance, Screaming ‘Allah is Great!’ on Continental Flight Headed to Houston

02/22/2012 Leave a comment

The liberal media will file this one under “When Nic Fits Go Bad”. Allah didn’t feel as great as a fresh pack of Marlboros for this passenger apparently, and he simply felt the need to convince himself otherwise …

By KHOU.com staff – “HOUSTON—Charges may be filed against a man accused of causing a disturbance on a Continental Airlines flight bound for Houston on Tuesday.

Passengers said the man was a hassle from the beginning and once the flight took off, he tried to light an electronic cigarette.

Flight attendants asked the passenger to turn off the cigarette, but he refused.

Other fed up passengers helped subdue the unruly man while the pilot turned the plane around and headed back to Portland.

The passenger was taken into custody when the plane landed.

According to one of the passengers, the unruly passenger kept repeating, ‘Allah is great.’

The flight resumed and departed Portland around 2:05 p.m. The passengers finally arrived to Houston Tuesday night.” Source – KHOU.com.

Thousands of Afghans Vent Fury Over Qur’an Burning, NATO Apologizes for ‘Error’

02/21/2012 Leave a comment

They’re angry because no Muslim has, in Islam’s 1400 year history, ever thrown out a Qur’an or any piece of paper containing a single written or printed verse from the Qur’an. That would be sacrilegious. An abomination. Downright Evil. In today’s other news, Muslims blow up men, women and children at a supermarket …

By Emma Graham-Harrison – “Nato forces have rushed to apologise for discarding and possibly burning copies of the Qur’an, as thousands of furious Afghans gathered to protest outside Bagram military airbase.

Some carried ancient hunting rifles and others used slingshots to pelt the outer walls of the airbase with stones for several hours, despite the bitter cold, shouting “down with America” and other slogans.

The crowd swelled to up to 3,000, and police stationed on roads leading to the base turned back other would-be protesters from further away, according to General Muhammad Akram Bekzad, Parwan province’s police chief. At least 12 civilians were injured by rubber bullets fired by coalition soldiersto control the protesters, said Haji Abdul Aziz, police chief for Bagram district. Nato-led forces confirmed that “some non-lethal munitions were used to help disperse the crowd.”

Any destruction of, or damage to, Islam’s holy book is a highly sensitive issue in Afghanistan that has sparked sometimes deadly riots in the past. As details of the apparent burning emerged, the top US and Nato general in Afghanistan apologised and promised an inquiry – seemingly to try to contain the spreading outrage.

‘I assure you … I promise you … this was NOT intentional in any way,’ General John Allen said in a statement addressed to the ‘noble people of Afghanistan’.

Copies of the Qur’an taken from prisoners at the airbase had been handed over for incineration late on Monday, and were spotted by Afghan workers, according to Afghan and western officials.” Read more.

Flashback: Saudi Arabia Desecrates Hundreds of Bibles Annually – “The Saudi government burns and desecrates hundreds of bibles its security forces confiscate after raids on Christian expatriates worshiping privately or at border crossings. As a matter of official policy, the government either incinerates or dumps bibles, crosses and other Christian paraphernalia. Hundreds of Christian worshipers are arrested every year by Saudi police in raids on their private gatherings. Bibles, crosses and printed materials are confiscated and later burnt or dumped into trash. Bibles and other Christian paraphernalia found with travelers into the country are confiscated and destroyed.” Read more.

NASA Satellite Captures Enormous 90-Mile-Wide Underwater ‘Storm’

02/21/2012 Leave a comment

“A Nasa satellite has provided jaw-dropping pictures of a huge ‘storm’ brewing under the sea.

The swirling mass of water – which measures a whopping 93 miles wide – has been spotted off the coast of South Africa by the Terra satellite on December 26.

But there’s no need to alert international shipping, or worry about the poor fish that might find themselves in an endless washing cycle – the body of water poses no threat.

Indeed, it is more likely to create life by sucking nutrients from the bed and bringing them to the surface.

The sea storms – which are better known as eddies – form bizarre whirl shaped shapes deep beneath the ocean’s surface.

This counter-clockwise eddy is thought to have peeled off from the Agulhas Current, which flows along the southeastern coast of Africa and around the tip of South Africa.” Read more.

Arizona: Muslim Family Arrested After 19-Year-Old Daughter Subjected to ‘Honor Beating’ for Talking to a Boy

02/20/2012 Leave a comment

Maybe TLC should consider adding the Farhans to their “All American Muslim” lineup. Seems like they’d get along quite well with at least one of the stars of their show …

By Adam Slinger and Angie Holdsworth – “PHOENIX – An Iraqi mother accused of beating her 19-year-old daughter for talking to a boy is back behind bars, along with her husband and another daughter.

Phoenix police told ABC15 that the victim claims her parents and her younger sister beat her, and then tied her to a bed in their home.

The mother, Yursa Farhan, who sat down with ABC15 on Saturday, admitted to hitting her daughter, Aiya, who lied to her and used foul language, but denies ever beating her as police allege.

‘She was talking to a boy and our culture says no boyfriends,’ Farhan said. ‘We have to respect our culture.’

Farhan was released from jail last week, but was re-arrested on Wednesday.

Investigators said Fahan also burned Aiya with a hot spoon as punishment back in November because the teenager refused to marry a 38-year-old man.

Farhan’s husband, Mohammed Altameemi, and their 18-year-old daughter, Tabarak Altameemi, were arrested in connection with the most recent incident.” Read more.

Lebanon: Beirut River Mysteriously Turns Blood Red

02/16/2012 Leave a comment

Maybe an Egyptian sheikh somewhere will blame it on the “Chevrolet crossing” …

By Van Meguerditchian – “BEIRUT: The Beirut River mysteriously turned blood red Wednesday after a stream of unidentified red liquid began pouring from the southern bank of the river in Furn al-Shubbak. The source of the liquid had yet to be determined Wednesday evening, as the river continued to empty the red-colored water into the Mediterranean Sea.

Government and local officials rushed to the scene at the Chevrolet crossing of Furn al-Shubbak Wednesday morning in an attempt to locate the sewage canal that was dumping the red-colored water but they were unable to locate the source. Accusations were traded among officials from the municipalities of Hadath, Hazmieh, Sin al-Fil, Furn al-Shubbak and Shiyah.

Eyewitnesses working in the area told The Daily Star this was not the first time the river had turned a different color. Several business owners around the Chevrolet crossing said that colored water pours into the river roughly every two months but no one pays attention to it.It was the quantity and brightness of the red liquid that grabbed the attention of many passersby and commuters on different bridges in the city Wednesday.

Environment Minister Nazem Khoury said the source of the water was likely from Hazmieh or Baabda.

‘I call on the municipalities of Hazmieh and Baabda to cooperate swiftly to find the source of the pollution and its type,’ Khoury said in a statement.

Earlier in the day, Khoury sent an environmental team to the area to examine the water. The team, headed by ministry official Bassam Sabbagh, took a sample of the water to determine its composition and whether it contained dangerous pollutants.

The samples will be examined Thursday because state laboratories were already closed by the time the sample was taken. ‘The sample we took will be examined tomorrow [Thursday] morning … and we will know whether it is blood being mixed with water or if it is some sort of a color dumped in it,’ said Sabbagh.” Read more.

Colorado Student Quits High School Choir Over Islamic Song Praising ‘Allah’

02/15/2012 Leave a comment

1 Peter 5:8-9a, “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith …”

Islam, no matter how seemingly benign, subtly instilled into the minds of our youth is Sharia Creep at its worse. What could possibly go wrong with an innocent high school choir singing a song of praise to the god of a religion that wants to destroy the Judeo-Christian principles upon which America was founded, to the god of a political-religious ideology responsible for the deaths of an estimated 270 million ‘infidels’ throughout its bloody 1400-year history? We can eat food that is 99% healthy, and just 1% poison. But good food cannot save the body if poison is allowed to destroy it …

“A Colorado high school student quit the school choir after an Islamic song containing the lyric ‘there is no other truth except Allah’ made it into the repertoire.

James Harper, a senior at Grand Junction High School in Grand Junction, put his objection to singing ‘Zikr,’ a song written by Indian composer A.R. Rahman, in an email to Mesa County School District 51 officials. When the school stood by choir director Marcia Wieland’s selection, Harper quit.

‘I don’t want to come across as a bigot or a racist, but I really don’t feel it is appropriate for students in a public high school to be singing an Islamic worship song,’ Harper told KREX-TV. ‘This is worshipping another God, and even worshipping another prophet … I think there would be a lot of outrage if we made a Muslim choir say Jesus Christ is the only truth.’

District spokesman Jeff Kirtland rejected Harper’s analogy.

‘This is about bringing diversity to the students and showing them other things that are out there,’ Kirtland told KREX. ‘The teacher was open with the parents and students do not have to participate in this voluntary club choir.’

Kirtland did not return multiple calls for comment from FoxNews.com.” Read more.

Egypt State Media Accuses the United States of Spreading Anarchy

02/15/2012 Leave a comment

Islamist sentiments have absolutely nothing to do with it. The policies of newly elected “politicians” have absolutely nothing to do with it. The brutality of the Egyptian military has absolutely nothing to do with it.  Blood-thirsty anti-Semitic aspirations have absolutely nothing to do with it.  No, not only will America be responsible for an Egyptian-Israeli war if the United States doesn’t give the elected radical Egyptian government oodles of money, it just so happens that all of the chaos occurring throughout Egypt right now is, and will be, America’s fault, too. Maybe they need more money

By Tom Perry – “CAIRO (Reuters) – State-run newspapers splashed accusations of a U.S. plan to spread ‘anarchy’ in Egypt across their front pages on Tuesday, escalating a dispute Washington says must be resolved to ensure their continued military cooperation.

Based on remarks by a government minister, the headlines marked another low in the crisis between Washington and Cairo triggered by the investigation into U.S.-based non-governmental organisations that has led to criminal charges against Americans who have been prevented from leaving the country.

‘America is behind the anarchy,’ declared the front page of Al Gomhuria newspaper. ‘American funding aims to spread anarchy in Egypt,’ read the front page of Al Ahram newspaper. The papers are two of Egypt’s most widely distributed dailies.

The headlines were based on comments made in October to the investigating judges by Minister of International Cooperation Faiza Abul Naga – but which only came to light on Monday when they were released to state news agency MENA.

Like Al Ahram and Al Gomhuria, MENA is part of a state-run media loyal to the government which has long been a tool for shaping public opinion in favour of Egypt’s establishment.

In her remarks, Abul Naga linked what she said was a surge in U.S. funding for civil society groups last year to an attempt to steer the course of the post-Hosni Mubarak transition in ‘a direction that realized American and Israeli interests.’

‘All the indications show that there was a clear desire to abort any chance for Egypt to emerge as a modern democratic state with a strong economy,’ she was quoted as saying, adding that that would be a threat to ‘American and Israeli interests’.” Read more.

Daniel B. Wallace: Seven Early New Testament Papyri Manuscripts Discovered

02/14/2012 Leave a comment

The more manuscripts we discover, the more the Islamic claim that the Bible we have today was corrupted is silenced. When these texts are analyzed in full they will again confirm what Christians have already known:  All Biblical manuscripts and fragments dated even hundreds of years before Mohammed are virtually identical to the canonized Biblical texts we have today.  As I pointed out in “A few Simple Questions for Muslim Visitors“, when Muhammad recited the Qur’an he clearly stated that he did not believe that the Bible was corrupt at that time and called upon Christians to adhere to the Scriptures that they possessed. But manuscript discoveries such as these beg the question: Since the Scriptures we have today are the same Scriptures that Christians had even well before the time of Mohammed, when do they believe the Bible became corrupted, who corrupted it, and how was it corrupted? The silence is deafening …

By Daniel B. Wallace – “On 1 February 2012, I debated Bart Ehrman at UNC Chapel Hill on whether we have the wording of the original New Testament today. This was our third such debate, and it was before a crowd of more than 1000 people. I mentioned that seven New Testament papyri had recently been discovered—six of them probably from the second century and one of them probably from the first. These fragments will be published in about a year.

These manuscripts now increase our holdings as follows: we have as many as eighteen New Testament manuscripts (all fragmentary, more or less) from the second century and one from the first. Altogether, more than 40% of all New Testament verses are found in these manuscripts. But the most interesting thing is the first-century fragment.

It was dated by one of the world’s leading paleographers. He said he was ‘certain’ that it was from the first century. If this is true, it would be the oldest fragment of the New Testament known to exist. Up until now, no one has discovered any first-century manuscripts of the New Testament. The oldest manuscript of the New Testament has been P52, a small fragment from John’s Gospel, dated to the first half of the second century. It was discovered in 1934.

Not only this, but the first-century fragment is from Mark’s Gospel. Before the discovery of this fragment, the oldest manuscript that had Mark in it was P45, from the early third century (c. 200–250 CE). This new fragment would predate that by 100 to 150 years. Read more…

Void of Reason: President Obama Proposes Sending $800 Million in Taxpayer Dollars to Aid the ‘Arab Spring’

02/13/2012 10 comments

Way to go, Mr. President. Other than fueling the Islamist agenda and expanding America’s $16 trillion dollar deficit waistline, throwing away hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars to promote the “Arab Spring” will do nothing. Why not just donate stacks of greenbacks to the homeless who are freezing right now throughout Europe? They could put it to good use and burn it for some much needed warmth. But it seems that you’d rather aid the “Arab Spring” in an effort to somehow instill sudden, fuzzy-warm feelings in the hearts and minds of Islamists instead.  President BO, not only do your policies stink, you’re much more out of touch with reality than I could have ever imagined …

By Susan Cornwell – “(Reuters) – The White House announced plans on Monday to help ‘Arab Spring’ countries swept by revolutions with more than $800 million in economic aid, while maintaining U.S. military aid to Egypt.

In his annual budget message to Congress, President Barack Obama asked that military aid to Egypt be kept at the level of recent years — $1.3 billion — despite a crisis triggered by an Egyptian probe targeting American democracy activists.

The proposals are part of Obama’s budget request for fiscal year 2013, which begins October 1. His requests need the approval of Congress, where some lawmakers want to cut overseas spending to address U.S. budget shortfalls and are particularly angry at Egypt.

Obama proposed $51.6 billion in funding for the U.S. State Department and foreign aid overall, when $8.2 billion in assistance to war zones is included. The ‘core budget’ for the category would increase by 1.6 percent, officials said.

Most of the economic aid for the Arab Spring countries — $770 million — would go to establish a new ‘Middle East and North Africa Incentive Fund,’ the president said in his budget plan.

Analysts said it was difficult to tell how much of the proposal was actually new money.

‘As presented it’s very difficult to determine if the Arab spring fund is new wine in new bottles or old wine in new bottles,’ said John Norris, a former U.S. foreign aid worker now at the Center for American Progress.” Read more.

Flashback: The Terrifying Truth Behind the So-Called Arab Spring – “For the watching world, it encapsulates the reality that Egypt is rapidly sliding back into brutal tyranny. The overthrow of President Mubarak’s despotic regime in February is already a distant memory, and hopes for a new era of freedom following the Arab Spring have turned to dust… There has been little condemnation from the Islamist political parties, led by the Muslim Brotherhood. That is because the Islamists, no allies of the pro-democracy movement, are playing the long game. Ultimately, what they aim to construct is a Muslim state run according to strict, fundamentalist Sharia law. And they are well on their way to that goal.” Read more.

Flashback: ‘Arab Spring’ Becoming a Nightmare for Christians – “As Islamic groups gain power throughout the Middle East, Christians here fear for their safety and are concerned about their role with regard to the future of the volatile region. ‘I fear for the Christians of the Middle East because it’s a bad situation for them,’ Lebanese parliamentarian Samy Gemayel told WND… Christians have been a minority in numerous Middle East countries for several decades, facing routine mistreatment and occasional persecution for much of that time. However, in the last year, the so-called Arab Spring has sparked intensified concern, with reports of an increase in attacks against Christians …” Read more.

Flashback: Iranian General on the ‘Arab Spring’: Whether You Like It Or Not, Egypt and Other Nations Are Becoming ‘New Irans’ – “Egypt is becoming the new Iran, ‘whether you accept it or not,’ says a general in the Iranian Revolutionary Guards. As the radical Islamic Muslim Brotherhood movement waits for an expected victory in the long and drawn-out legislative electins in Egypt, Iran is looking forward to Egypt being its next cog in the Islamic Empire that it hopes for and wants to head. ‘A number of major (new) Irans have been born in the region today. Egypt is a (new) Iran, whether you (the US-led West) accept it or not,’ reported the Iranian semi-official Fars News Agency, quoting Guards commander Major General Qassem Soleimani.” Read more.

Maldives: New President to Appoint Pro-Sharia Islamists to Cabinet as Island Nation Slides Towards Extremism

02/12/2012 Leave a comment

By Krishan Francis – “MALE, Maldives – The Maldives’ new president has expanded his Cabinet to include members of the former autocratic ruler’s party, and Islamic conservatives will be appointed ministers in coming days.

Conservatives have been demanding the introduction of strict Islamic laws in the Indian Ocean nation that relies on high-end tourism.

Demonstrations over the past year calling for more religiously conservative policies as well as widespread protests over soaring prices had put pressure on the former leader, Mohamed Nasheed. He resigned last week after his order to arrest a senior judge sparked continuous protests. He later said he had been ousted in a coup, leading to a political crisis.

New President Mohammed Waheed Hassan said he was forming a coalition government to help restore stability in the Muslim country ahead of presidential elections due next year. Six members from four political parties were sworn in Sunday as ministers.

They include the Progressive Party of the Maldives, headed by Maumoon Abdul Gayoom, the former autocratic leader who ruled for 30 years until Nasheed defeated him in the country’s first multiparty election in 2008.

Adhaalat, or Justice Party, which wants to see the introduction of Shariah law, and several other moderate parties will also receive ministerial positions, according to presidential spokesman Masood Imad.” Read more.

Trouble in paradise: Maldives and Islamic extremism – “At the Maldives’ National Museum, smashed Buddhist statues are testament to the rise of Islamic extremism and Taliban-style intolerance in a country famous as a laid-back holiday destination. On Tuesday, as protesters backed by mutinous police toppled president Mohamed Nasheed, a handful of men stormed the Chinese-built museum and destroyed its display of priceless artefacts from the nation’s pre-Islamic era… Islam is the official religion of the Maldives and open practice of any other religion is forbidden and liable to prosecution.” Read more.

Dead Sea Scrolls Document History of Israel, Refute Palestine, Occupation

02/10/2012 1 comment

By Joel Leyden – “Jerusalem — February 10, 2012 …. One need not trek thousands of miles to view the ancient Dead Sea Scrolls in Jerusalem.

Smack in the middle of Times Square and Broadway in New York City, the Discovery Museum has been displaying this ancient, Hebrew literature since last October.

The ancient, 2,000 year-old Hebrew scrolls were accidentally discovered in 1947 by a Bedouin boy high above the Israel Dead Sea in a number of caves. The Dead Sea Scrolls reveal the history of the Jewish Second Temple period (520 B.C.E.-70 C.E.), particularly from the second century B.C.E. until the destruction of the Second Temple in 70 C.E. – a time of crucial developments in the crystallization of the monotheistic religions.

The Dead Sea Scrolls are a vivid testament to the life, times, community and legal heritage of the Jewish people to the land of Israel.

In a world filled with blatant propaganda and lies by the Palestinian Authority (PA), Iran, Hamas and Islamic Jihad, it is refreshing to view upon these well preserved documents that speak of community and values by Jews who lived in biblical Israel.

These Jewish documents contain numerous copies of books from the Hebrew Bible, written in Hebrew, not Arabic!

How can Arabs or the UN declare that Israel, the West Bank or Gaza is occupied land when these documents were written over 600 years before the prophet Muhammad, before there was anything called Islam or Palestine?

These Jewish documents contain numerous copies of books from the Hebrew Bible, written in Hebrew, not Arabic!” Read more.
