At Least 9 Volcanic Quakes Recorded in Taal, Philippines Over Past 24 Hours
“MANILA, Philippines – Nine volcanic earthquakes were recorded by Taal Volcano’s seismic network during the past 24 hours, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said on Friday.
Phivolcs’ findings also showed that there was a remarkable increase in carbon dioxide (CO2) concentration, which indicated ‘anomalous gas release from the magma at depth’.
Phivolcs said the findings do not show an imminent eruption, but advised the public to strictly observe some safety precautions.” Read more.
Largest U.S. Severe Weather Outbreak in Over a Decade This Week
“A powerful spring-time low pressure system marched through the southeast Monday afternoon and evening causing widespread severe weather. By Monday late afternoon a line of powerful thunderstorms stretched from Ohio all the way down to Texas packing high winds, large hail, and even tornadoes.
There have been over 1,300 severe weather reports into the Storms Prediction Center in Norman, OK from Monday’s outbreak. The image above is a map of Monday’s storm reports from the Storms Prediction Center. That is the most severe weather reports since the year 2000 in one 24 hour period. A majority of the reports, over a thousand, were for severe straight line winds.” Read more.

Series of Landslides, Volcanic Eruptions and Tremors Shake Sicily
“(AGI) Palermo – There has been a concerted series of explosions and landslides on Stromboli. Over the last 24 hours, monitors at the Vesuvian Observatory have picked up fifteen seismic signals associated with mild landslide events, all along the Sciara del Fuoco (Stream of Fire). Most of these events were follow-ons to the explosions and can therefore be attributed to rolling debris. The tremor was clearly on a diminishing scale, however.” Source.
As Floods Recede, Disease Breaks Out in South Asia
“Illness – mostly from respiratory problems – has struck more than 20,000 residents in flooded provinces in the South. They are seeking or receiving treatment at government clinics, hospitals, or from mobile medical units, Public Health Minister Jurin Laksanawisit said yesterday.
Mobile medical units had made 667 visits to 18,378 patients seeking treatment for respiratory problems (60 per cent), foot rashes and diseases (23 per cent), and skin rashes (5 per cent).
Sixty-nine patients needed psychiatric counselling, with seven suffering deep depression due to relatives killed in the flooding and to property damage and losses.
Quoting the latest update yesterday by the Emergency Medical Institute of Thailand, Jurin said 45 people had been killed in the flooding in the South- 19 in the hardest-hit Nakhon Si Thammarat, 10 in Surat Thani, nine in Krabi, three in Phatthalung, two each in Trang and Chumphon.” Read more.
Concerns Being Raised Over Spate of On-Air Gibberish
Maybe it’s beco sofa avv rewo ts in a while me ansthe. It could bef, it could be ai tirs and nowo iza affecct, same thing.
In all seriousness, I’m less concerned about any possible ‘mind control weapons’ than I am over some of the possible environmental or geological questions that have been affecting animals lately. Is it possible that what has been wreaking havoc in the animal world is starting to affect some of us? There are at least four people now who’ve been affected on air within the last few months. I wonder how many more there are that we don’t know about?
By TOM LEONARD – “A bizarre spate of television presenters dissolving into on-air gibberish has sparked claims that the U.S. military could be to blame.
In four high-profile cases, the latest involving fast-talking Judge Judy, the presenters have started off speaking properly but have then descended into undecipherable nonsense – looking confused and unstable.
The frequency of the ‘attacks’ – and the fact that recorded examples of the mental meltdowns have been popular on websites – has led to conspiracy theorists pointing the finger at shadowy government experiments.
A popular theory being circulated online blames the U.S. Military’s supposed research into using microwaves as a mind control weapon.” Read more.
Mt. Sakurajima Explodes – Japan Issues Volcanic Ash Alert
“Tokyo Volcanic Ash Advisory Center issued an ash warning for Sakurajima Volcano which is considered ‘very dangerous’.
Sakurajima (also spelled Sakurashima or Sakura-jima, 桜島 in Japanese) volcano in southern Kyushu is one of the most active volcanoes in the world, and one of the few that are at present in constant (persistant) activity. These 8 Shocks Are About To Slam The Global Economy
By Gregory White, Business Insider, “The world is being hit with, or will soon be hit with, 8 shocks to the global economy, according to Citi strategist Guillermo Felices.
It all started with surging food prices in developing markets, but now it may be spreading from the emerging markets to the developed world.
It’s important to understand how the first seven of these crises relate to one another, and how the eighth is exacerbating an already difficult situation.
We go through Guillermo Felices’ shocks and detail each, looking into how each is transpiring and impacting the global economy.” Read more.
Up to 4,000 Fishermen from Pyapon Missing in Storms
Myo Thein – “New Delhi (Mizzima) – Around 4,000 fishermen from the Pyapon area may have lost their lives in vicious storms that struck Irrawaddy Division last week, according to Win Kyaing, the general secretary of the Myanmar Fisheries Federation.
Win Kyaing said in a meeting held by the Myanmar Fisheries Federation on Tuesday that the 4,000 fishermen represent about 2,000 fishing rafts that were lost in storms from March 14 to 17, according to a reporter who attended the meeting.
The number of dead or missing is difficult to determine, said authorities.
‘His estimation of the missing is based on the total number of rafts. There are about 1,500 registered rafts and 500 unregistered rafts [in the area]. A raft can carry around three people each. That’s why he estimated that more than 4,000 people are missing’, the reporter said. The rafts are manned by fisherman who go out daily to catch fish and work their nets.” Read more.
Thousands of Fish Killed in Ravenna Lake, Nebraska
“RAVENNA — Additional investigation has shown the number of fish killed at Ravenna Lake recently was much greater than previously documented.
A second investigation conducted March 16, when all the ice was off the lake, showed about 3,800 dead fish, including about 450 largemouth bass, 3,100 bluegills and 200 channel catfish, according to a press release from the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission’s Kearney office.
The previous investigation March 4 had counted only 250 dead fish.
Most of the bass were 10 to 20 inches long. The bluegills were 8 to 10 inches and the catfish were 20 to 28 inches. The increase in dead fish indicates nearly a complete kill of the fish population in Ravenna Lake, the release said.” Source.

Indonesia Issues Red Alert as Volcano Erupts
“JAKARTA— Indonesia issued a red alert Friday after Mount Karangetang on the island of Sulawesi erupted, sending lava and searing gas clouds down its slopes, a volcanologist said.
‘We raised the volcano’s status to the highest red alert level today at 5:45 pm (1045GMT) and ordered an evacuation in three villages on the slopes,’ government volcanologist Surono told AFP.
He said that the 1,784-meter (5,850-foot) mountain on the sparsely-populated island off North Sulawesi oozed lava, heat clouds and debris reaching as far as 3,800 meters away down its slopes.
‘The eruption is still going on and its current activity remains high,’ he said.” Read more.
