The Jerusalem Post – “Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah was killed in the IDF’s strike on Hezbollah’s headquarters in Beirut on Friday, the IDF announced Saturday morning. 

Almost 32 years after co-founding the Lebanese terrorist organization, Nasrallah was killed, alongside Ali Karaki, Hezbollah‘s commander of the southern front, and other Hezbollah commanders. 

Israel’s air force struck Hezbollah’s central headquarters using precise intelligence from the intelligence wing and defense system. The headquarters were based underground, under a residential building in the Lebanese capital.” Read more.

Hezbollah’s HQ was built under multiple residential buildings in Beirut. Has justice been served? It undoubtedly has for a large number of Hezbollah leaders and operatives in recent weeks, but whether or not that will now include the terrorist leader Hassan Nasrallah remains to be seen. If Nasrallah was the target, Israel would not have flattened upwards of six residential buildings and used multiple bunker busters without solid intel telling them that Nasrallah was present …

The Times of Israel – “The Israeli Air Force carried out massive targeted airstrikes in the Lebanese capital of Beirut on Friday evening, with the military saying it had struck Hezbollah’s main headquarters.

The attack shook the Lebanese capital and sent thick clouds of smoke over the city. There were reports of many casualties in the multiple strikes.

Unconfirmed Hebrew media reports said Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah was targeted, leading to widespread speculation and conflicting reports as to his fate.

A source close to Hezbollah said the Israeli strikes flattened six buildings. It was the heaviest attack in Beirut in almost a year of conflict between Hezbollah and Israel.

A Lebanese security source told Reuters that Hezbollah’s top officials are usually gathered at the site that was targeted.” Read more.

The Jerusalem Post – “President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan slammed the United Nations on Tuesday morning in his remarks to the General Assembly for allowing international justice to be left to the five members of the security council, saying the war in Gaza is the most dramatic example.

Erdogan also slammed Israel’s allies for supporting the country in an ‘unconditional manner.’

‘How long are you going to be able to carry the shame of witnessing this massacre, dear friends, while children are dying in Gaza, in Ramallah, in Lebanon, while babies are dying in incubators?’ Erdogan said.

Erdogan said the only reason for Israel’s aggression against the Palestinian people is the unconditional support of a group of countries.

Countries that have a say over Israel are openly complicit in this massacre, he said, and those who are supposedly working for a ceasefire in front of the stage continue to send arms and ammunition to Israel so that it can continue its massacres in the background.

‘I would like to wave at my brothers and sisters at the legitimate resistance in Palestine,’ he said.

Turkey supports South Africa’s case at the International Court of Justice to ensure that Israel’s crimes do not go unpunished,’ he said.

‘We will take every step necessary for justice to be served in the case for which we have applied,’ Erdogan said. ‘Those who murdered 41,000 people cannot rest until those who gave the orders pulled the trigger and dropped the bombs are held accountable for their crimes, we will not heave a sigh of relief.’

Erdogan called for coercive measures against Israel in the absence of the implementation of UN Security Council resolution number 2735, the ceasefire proposal announced in May by President Biden, as he said Israel’s behavior has once again demonstrated that it is ‘imperative for the international community to develop a protection mechanism for Palestinians.’

‘Seventy years ago, just as Hitler was stopped by an alliance of humanity, Netanyahu and his murder network must be stopped by an alliance of humanity,’ Erdogan said.” Read more.

The Jerusalem Post – “The IDF conducted a targeted strike in Beirut, the military announced on Friday afternoon. The primary target of the strike was Radwan Force commander and head of Hezbollah Operations, Ibrahim Aqil.

AFP, citing a source close to Hezbollah, reported that Aqil perished in the strike. Reuters later reported the same, citing two security sources in Lebanon.

The security sources told Reuters that other members of Hezbollah’s Radwan Force were killed when the Israeli strike hit a meeting they were attending.

The Lebanese Health Ministry claimed that eight had been killed in the strike and that another 59 were wounded.” Read more.

The Jerusalem Post – “The United Nations General Assembly on Wednesday voted 124-14 to strip Israel of the right to self-defense against Palestinian terrorism in the West Bank, Gaza Strip, and east Jerusalem.

The text of the resolution was based on the International Court of Justice’s advisory opinion in July that Israel’s occupation of Palestinian territory was illegal.

Prior to the vote, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said he supported the ICJ option and would abide by the vote, which calls on the IDF to withdraw to the pre-1967 lines within 12 months.

The resolution also calls on member states not to sell arms or military equipment to Israel that would be used in Gaza, the West Bank, and east Jerusalem. It calls for a boycott of all Israeli products produced over the pre-1967 lines.

The resolution has declaratory power only but provides international backing to those countries that want to take additional steps against Israel.

The text does not mention Hamas, the October 7 invasion of Israel, or the remaining 101 hostages in Gaza. It makes no requirements of Hamas or the Palestinians with regard to attacks on Israel.” Read more.

Israel National News – “Several explosions were reported Wednesday afternoon in the Dahieh area of Beirut, Lebanon, as exploding hand-held radios killed at least five people and injured approximately 500. Lebanon’s state news agency reported that three people were killed in Beqaa.

According to Sky News Arabic, the explosions took place during the funeral for Hezbollah-affiliated Lebanese MP Ali Ammar’s son, who was killed when his beeper exploded on Tuesday.

The explosions occurred in multiple locations, including in private homes, the reports added. Injuries were reported in Dahieh, Ghaziyeh, and Al-Sarafand in southern Lebanon.

Multiple Hezbollah terrorists are among the injured in the explosions.

Asharq Al-Awsat reported that ‘hundreds’ were wounded in the second wave, many of them in their stomachs and hands.

In at least one instance, a vehicle caught fire after a communications device exploded.

A Sky News reporter attending one of the funerals said that Hezbollah terrorists are now throwing away both their phones’ and their communications devices’ batteries.

Reports soon said that the second ‘wave’ of explosions affected thousands of military communications devices, which exploded within minutes of each other across Lebanon. This system is an alternate system, used following Tuesday’s explosions.

The country’s Health Ministry later said that nine people were killed in Wednesday’s radio explosions, and over 300 were injured.” Read more.

Israel National News – “A series of explosions were reported in the Dahieh area of Beirut on Tuesday afternoon, leaving thousands injured.

According to Lebanese reports, dozens of people were killed in the explosions.

Later reports said that ‘dozens’ of simultaneous explosions took place in Syria as well, when pagers worn by Hezbollah terrorists exploded.

Dahieh is known as a Hezbollah stronghold.

According to Sky News, encrypted pagers used by Hezbollah for internal messaging exploded. Reuters reported that Hezbollah only began using the beeper devices in question within the last few months; Al-Hadath reported similarly.

Arabic media reports that over 4,000 individuals were injured at several separate locations. In Damascus, Syria, a vehicle containing a pager exploded when the device detonated.

According to Sabereen News, a diplomatic figure in Lebanon was among those injured in the explosions. Other reports said that the Iranian ambassador to Lebanon was among those injured. It is not clear if this is the ‘diplomatic figure’ referred to in the Sabereen News report.

The Jerusalem Post – “Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan said on Saturday Islamic countries should form an alliance against what he called ‘the growing threat of expansionism’ from Israel.

He made the comment after describing what Palestinian and Turkish officials said was the killing by Israeli troops of a Turkish-American woman taking part in a protest on Friday against settlement expansion in the West Bank.

‘The only step that will stop Israeli arrogance, Israeli banditry, and Israeli state terrorism is the alliance of Islamic countries,’ Erdogan said at an Islamic schools’ association event near Istanbul.

He said recent steps that Turkey has taken to improve ties with Egypt and Syria are aimed at ‘forming a line of solidarity against the growing threat of expansionism,’ which he said also threatened Lebanon and Syria.” Read more.

Turkey Calls For Emergency Muslim Summit To Discuss “Israel’s Attacks On Jerusalem” – “Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Monday urged the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to convene an emergency summit to discuss the war in Gaza and what he described as ‘Israel’s attacks on Jerusalem’ … Erdogan claimed that Israel was ‘targeting’ the Al-Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem as part of its ‘expansionist’ drive. Jerusalem and the mosque are Ankara’s ‘red line’, he stressed. ‘It is unthinkable for the OIC, whose duty is to take care of the Jerusalem cause, to remain indifferent to these attacks. Iranian President Calls For Muslim World To Unite Against Israel – “The Iranian president made the call while speaking to a group of elites and academics in Iraq’s Basra. If the Muslims are united with each other, the Israeli regime could not continue the massacre of Muslims, he said. Israel waged a genocidal war on the besieged Gaza on October 7 after the Palestinian Hamas Resistance group carried out a historic operation against the occupying entity in retaliation for the regime’s intensified atrocities against the Palestinian people. Israel has imposed a complete siege on the densely populated territory, cutting off fuel, electricity, food, and water to the more than two million Palestinians living there.” Read more.

This is a monumental embarrassment for Iran. Hours after the death of Hezbollah’s most senior military commander in Beirut, Hamas political chief Ismail Haniyeh, who was granted Turkish citizenship in 2020 and had been living a life of wealth and privilege behind the protection of the Qatari government, is assassinated while visiting Tehran for the swearing in ceremony of Iran’s newly “elected” president, Masud Pezeshkian. This is the highest ranking death of a Hamas political official since the war began. Interestingly, if it wasn’t for the sudden and unexpected death of former Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi in May, Haniyeh would have never left the protection of Qatari territory. The Jerusalem Post – “Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh was assassinated in the Iranian capital of Tehran early Wednesday morning, the Palestinian terror group said, noting the killing could drastically change the outlook of Israel’s war on Hamas.

Hamas deputy chief in Gaza Khalil Al-Hayya, citing witnesses who had been with Haniyeh in Iran, later said that the missile that killed Haniyeh struck him ‘directly,’ Reuters reported.

As a result of the missile strike, windows, doors, and walls in his room were destroyed, Al-Hayya told a press conference in Tehran.

Haniyeh, along with one of his guards, was killed at around 2:00 a.m. at his Tehran residence following the launch of projectiles from an adjacent building, according to Al-Arabiya and other Arab outlets.

Hamas claimed Israel was responsible for the targeted killing, saying in a statement that their political leader was killed in ‘a treacherous Zionist raid on his residence in Tehran.'” Read more.

‘We must be very strong so that Israel cannot strike Palestine,’ he said. ‘Just like we entered Karabakh and the way we entered Libya, maybe we’ll do the same thing. There’s nothing we can’t do. We have to be strong.’

Erdogan referred to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict between Azerbaijan and Armenia, which resulted recently in Azerbaijan taking control of the breakaway region. Azerbaijan notably managed to regain control of the territory with the help of Israel and Turkey, with Turkish forces not entering the fighting.
