The Jerusalem Post – “President Tayyip Erdogan said Turkey stood in solidarity with Lebanon amid growing tensions with Israel and called on regional countries on Wednesday to also support Beirut.

Cross-border strains between Israel and Lebanon’s Hezbollah have been escalating in recent weeks, stoking fears of an all-out Israel-Hezbollah war. Shelling across Israel’s northern border has led to the evacuation of tens of thousands of people from areas on both sides of the frontier.

In a speech to his AK Party lawmakers in parliament, Erdogan said Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu planned to spread the Gaza war to the region.

‘It seems that Israel has now turned its eyes on Lebanon after destroying and burning Gaza. We see Western countries giving Israel support behind the scenes,’ Erdogan said.

‘Netanyahu’s plans to spread the war to the region will lead to a big catastrophe,’ he said, adding that the Western support for Israel was ‘pitiful.’

‘Turkey stands with the brotherly people and state of Lebanon. I call on other countries in the region to stand in solidarity with Lebanon,’ he said.

Earlier this week, Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said the Turkish government saw a risk of the conflict spreading while commenting on the tensions between Israel and Hezbollah.” Read more.

Nigeria: 350 Captives Rescued From Boko Haram Islamists – “Nigerian military forces rescued 209 children, 135 women, and six men from Boko Haram on Tuesday. Many of the hostages had been held captive by the terrorists for years. Authorities found the victims in the Sambisa Forest in the heart of Boko Haram’s territory in the North. ‘I always wanted to escape but couldn’t because of the children,’ Hajara Umara told the Associated Press. ‘If they caught you trying to escape, they would torture you and imprison you indefinitely.’  The Islamic extremist group is responsible for the kidnapping and death of thousands since its establishment in 2009. Muslim Migrant Develops Sudden Urge To Quickly Stab Random Metro Passengers – “The peace of what is described as a quiet Lyon neighbourhood was shattered on Sunday afternoon after a knifeman launched a rampage at the city’s Place Jean Jaurès Metro station. Four people were injured, three seriously, but there were no fatalities. Israel National News – “The International Court of Justice today delivered its ruling on the Israeli operation in Rafah, ordering that Israel cease all military operations in the Rafah governate. The case comes as part of a larger petition filed by South Africa against Israel, accusing Israel of genocide of the Palestinian people. Other countries have filed requests to join the case as co-claimants for both sides.

The original case was heard approximately four months ago, with a temporary verdict providing certain interim measures against Israel announced a month after that.

The court called the humanitarian situation in Rafah ‘disastrous’, citing an alleged lack of basic necessities in the city and widespread displacement due to Israeli evacuation orders. It also declared that Israel’s humanitarian evacuation and supply efforts have been insufficient to satisfy the existing provisional ruling.

The court ordered that Israel submit a report within a month showing its compliance. Israel was also ordered to comply with investigations into allegations of genocide, and to maintain functional humanitarian routes into Gaza, with emphasis on the Rafah crossing.

Judge Barak and Judge Sebutinde both dissented, as they did in the original ruling.

As part of the verdict, the court called for the immediate release of all remaining hostages, calling it deeply concerning that they remained in captivity.” Read more.

Israel: “No Power on Earth” Will Stop Us From Defending Ourselves – “Ahead of Friday’s ruling, a government spokesperson said ‘no power on Earth will stop Israel from protecting its citizens and going after Hamas in Gaza’. A Hamas spokesman told the BBC: ‘We welcome the decision of the International Court of Justice, which demands that the brutal Zionist entity [Israel] stop its aggression’ in Rafah.
Reading the court’s ruling on Friday, presiding judge Nawaz Salam said that ‘Israel must immediately halt its military offensive, and any other action in the Rafah Governorate’ which could bring about ‘the physical destruction’ of the Palestinians – alluding to what constitutes genocide under international law.” Read more.

If the wise men of old could read the words of the prophets to discern the timing of the Messiah’s First Coming, then the wise today should read the words of the prophets to discern the timing of His Second. I firmly believe that this war will continue beyond 2026 and will expand to include far more than just Hezbollah in the North. Don’t expect any seven-year “peace treaty” to happen. Contrary to the pop-theology of the Western church, this is not taught anywhere in Scripture. We are now in the time of the end and the war that we are witnessing today will ebb and flow, seeing its ultimate culmination at Armageddon …
