The Times of Israel – “Iran has increased the rate at which it is producing near-weapons-grade uranium in recent weeks, reversing a previous slowdown that started in the middle of this year, the International Atomic Energy Agency said Tuesday in a report to member states.
IAEA Director General Rafael Mariano Grossi said in the report that Iran ‘in recent weeks had increased its production of highly enriched uranium, reversing a previous output reduction from mid-2023,’ according to an IAEA spokesperson Sunday.
Iran had previously slowed down the rate at which it was enriching uranium to 60 percent purity. Uranium enriched at 60% purity is just a short, technical step away from weapons-grade levels of 90%.
The UN nuclear watchdog said its inspectors had verified the increased rate of production since the end of November at facilities in Natanz and Fordow to about 9 kilograms per month, up from 3 kilograms per month since June and representing a return to earlier levels of production.
In January, Grossi had warned that Tehran already had enough nuclear material for ‘several’ weapons. ‘They have amassed enough nuclear material for several nuclear weapons — not one at this point,’ he said, listing 70 kilograms of uranium enriched to 60% purity and 1,000 kilograms at 20%.” Read more.

Yahoo News – “Israel has warned they are in a war on seven fronts as attacks recorded in a handful of neighbouring countries in the last 48 hours spark fears of the conflict escalating to the wider region.
In an address to the Israeli government on Tuesday, Yoav Gallant, the country’s defence minister and one of only three members of its war cabinet, said they were coming under attack from Gaza, Lebanon, Syria, the West Bank, Iraq, Yemen and Iran.
“We are in a multifront war and coming under attack from seven theatres,” he said, before listing them all.
Without specifying, he added that they were taking action on six of the fronts.

Express – “At least seven terror suspects arrested in Europe were planning to carry out an operation on behalf of Hamas, according to Israeli intelligence.
Israel’s Mossad spy agency said Danish agencies had exposed ‘Hamas infrastructure on European soil,’ according to a statement from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office.

The man’s trial is set to start tomorrow, Dec. 14, after police arrested him in 2021 for allegedly raping 23-year-old Océane Decan at knifepoint in a Bordeaux parking lot, which means the trial is only beginning for a case that happened two years ago. The 58-year-old suspect, Yero Ba, was released from pre-trial detention in September of this year, which allowed him to roam the streets until his trial began.

Ba was released by the trial judge despite the prosecutor’s recommending the migrant stay in detention until his trial began.

Staff members at Jacques Cartier in Issou, west of Paris, refused to work on Monday in solidarity with the teacher who showed the masterpiece – ‘Diana and Actaeon’ by the Italian painter Giuseppe Cesari – in class on Thursday.
The work portrays a Greek mythology story in which the hunter Actaeon bursts in at a site where the goddess Diana and her nymphs are bathing. It shows a naked Diana and four nude female companions, and is held at the Louvre museum in Paris.
