Joel Rosenberg: The Handwriting is On the Wall, It’s Time to Prepare Churches for the Inevitable

By JONI B. HANNIGAN – “JACKSONVILLE (FBW)—The handwriting is on the wall and war between Iran and Israel is imminent, Joel Rosenberg, an evangelical Christian and New York Times best-selling author, told the last session of the First Baptist Jacksonville Pastors’ Conference Jan. 29.

‘War is coming,’ Rosenberg said. ‘You and I are living in an extraordinary moment in one of the most dangerous moments in the history of our country; one of the most dangerous moments in the history of Israel and the Middle East; and one of the most dangerous moments in the history of the church.’

And the question is, ‘Are we ready for what could be coming?’

The popular writer, who grew up with a Jewish father and a gentile mother, shared lessons from Daniel 5 on the future of America and the coming war in the Middle East.

Rosenberg, whose newest book Implosion: Can American Recover from our Economic and Spiritual Challenges in Time is set for release in June, said many pastors are unwilling to speak about the future in terms of Bible prophesy.

For some it’s because prophecy has been ‘sensationalized’ in the past and they resist the ‘cheapening of God’s Word,’ he said. Others might feel unprepared. Some have simply forgotten its power.

‘Prophecy is an intercept from the mind of an all-knowing and all-seeing and all powerful God,’ he said. It is meant to inspire, motivate and encourage. It will lead to repentance, holiness, and prayer and fasting, Rosenberg said, adding that prophecy is about the ‘preaching of the Gospel, making of disciples, planting churches, reaching young people with the Gospel, [and] reaching all people with the Gospel.’

Speaking on ‘The pastor and his future,’ Rosenberg asked pastors, ‘What is it that God is calling you and your congregation to do?’

Sharing examples of escalating tensions in the Middle East and rejecting ‘replacement theology,’ Rosenberg said the physical state of Israel is the Israel about which the Bible refers. ‘God is not done with us, He loves us, He has a plan for us,’ Rosenberg said. ‘God so loves the world, the whole world, that He gave His only begotten Son.’

After a recent trip to the concentration camp at Auschwitz, Rosenberg said he was reminded ‘bombs can do in six minutes what it took Adolph Hitler about six years to do; to kill six million Jews.'” Read more.

Syrian Defector: Assad Forces Using Chemical Weapons

If true, this would explain activity recently reported near Homs. If Assad is willing to attack his own people with chemical weapons, who else would he be willing to use them against? …

Security forces loyal to President Bashar Assad have been using chemical weapons against Syrian rebels, under the supervision of Iranian and Russian experts, a defecting Syrian officer charged Monday.

The officer, Captain Abd al-Salam Ahmed Abdul Razek, who served in Syrian’s chemical warfare administration, told al-Arabiya that the Syrian military used nerve gas – banned by various international conventions – in order to assist forces in their raid on the restive city of Homs.

The defecting officer added that the Syrian army’s Fourth Division and Republican Guard are expected to use chemical weapons elsewhere. Assad’s forces have access to toxins produced by Russia and a small quantity of them may cause numerous casualties, he said.” Read more.

Assad forces mull use of chemical weapons in Homs, opposition says – “Syria’s military has begun stockpiling chemical weapons and equipping its soldiers with gas masks near the city of Homs, opposition sources reported on Thursday. Opposition activists said they had received reports that the Syrian army had transferred a significant quantity of grenades and mortars containing chemical agents to a school building in Homs. The opposition also reported that gas masks were being distributed to soldiers at roadblocks.” Read more.

William Hague: Joint UN-Arab League Force ‘Urgently’ Needed in Syria – “At Sunday’s Arab League meeting, a UN-Arab team was proposed to replace the 170 Arab observers deployed in December and recalled last month. Mr Hague said it was ‘unacceptable to the world’ that the Assad regime was allowed to continue ‘butchering innocent people’. He added that the UK would play a ‘very active part’ in the new Group of Friends of Syria, which has been established to increase political and financial support to opposition leaders in Syria. Muslim Brotherhood Warns U.S. Aid Cut May Affect Egypt’s Peace Treaty With Israel

Extortion. Apparently, it’s halal. Even after the Muslim Brotherhood already promised that they would never recognize the “occupying criminal enemy” Israel under any circumstances and vowed to cancel the “Zionist” peace treaty, the very same group that President Obama is perfectly satisfied with leading Egypt is now threatening to hold America responsible for any Egyptian-Israeli war if Obama doesn’t pay up. Give them the aid they want, Mr. President, and they’ll be in a better position to wage war against Israel. Cut it, and they’ll threaten to wage war with Israel. Check. Now it’s your move …

Egyptian judges have referred 16 Americans and 27 others linked to NGOs for trial, accusing them of using foreign funds to encourage disruptive protests. Iran: Church Elder Seized and Detained After Agents Raid Workplace, Held Incommunicado

FCNN – “Agents of Ministry of State Security of the Islamic Regime raided Mr. Maasis Mosesian’s work place and took him to Rajai Shahr Prison in Karaj. As yet his family and friends have not been informed of charges against him, and or reasons for the sudden arrest.

Maasis was able to inform the church members, although denied contacting his family until Sat.11th Feb, some three days after his abduction.

Even then he was only able to use the phone just long enough to let them know where he was being held. His wife and son drove to the prison the following day, Sun 12th Feb; in the hope of meeting their husband and father. They were denied the right to see him and forced to leave.

Apart from an admission of his detention in Rajai Shahr Prison, as usual there is a noticeable lack of legal documentation or even verbal reasons for the sudden arrest.

Unlike the civilised world, in the Islamic Republic burden of proof rests with the accused. However, accusations are only levelled after lengthy interrogations, frequently under torture,.

Maasis is Armenian and married with two children and works in a private company as State Jobs are denied to non-muslims. He is a well known, long standing Christian and an Elder of Naarmak Church in Tehran.

Active in church, popular, and highly respected leader, He is known for his calm and quiet manner.

The news of his sudden arrest has been met with disbelief and apprehension amongst the membership.” Read more.

Thailand: Iranian Bomber Tosses Grenade At Police, Grenade Bounces Off Tree, Lands At His Feet and Blows Off His Legs

By Lee Moran – “A bungling Iranian bomber blew off his own legs when he hurled a grenade at Thai police outside a Bangkok school – which bounced off a tree and then exploded at his feet.

It came after he had blown up his own home and then hurled a grenade at a taxi driver who would not accept him as a passenger, the Bangkok Post reports.

Police allegedly found an Iranian ID card in a satchel close to the blast in the Thai capital, and unconfirmed reports suggest he is called Saeid Moradi.

Four people, three men and one woman, were injured in the explosions which come the day after Israeli diplomats were targeted in simultaneous car bombings, also believed to have been carried out by Iran.

It is not yet known if yesterday’s and today’s attacks are linked – but Israeli Foreign Ministry spokesman Yigal Palmor said: ‘We can’t rule out any possibility.’

More explosives were found at Moradi’s house, in the Ekamai area of central Bangkok, which police say he had been renting with two other unidentified foreigners.

He is believed to have arrived in Bangkok, from the southern Thai resort of Phuket, on February 8.

Thailand has rarely been a target for foreign terrorists, although a domestic Muslim insurgency in the country’s south has involved bombings of civilian targets.” Read more.

U.S., Israel Face Unconventional Weapons Threat from Islamic Extremists

By AARON KLEIN – “TEL AVIV – If the U.S. or Israel strikes Iran, fringe elements of the Pakistani intelligence apparatus that allegedly work with al-Qaida may attempt to coordinate terrorist attacks internationally, including using unconventional weapons, according to Arab diplomats in Pakistan.

The Arab diplomats, speaking to WND, said they did not have specifics on the nature of the attack, such as whether it would employ chemical, biological or nuclear weapons. The diplomats also said they did not have specifics about the exact location of any possible terrorist threat.

Void of Reason: President Obama Proposes Sending $800 Million in Taxpayer Dollars to Aid the ‘Arab Spring’

Way to go, Mr. President. Other than fueling the Islamist agenda and expanding America’s $16 trillion dollar deficit waistline, throwing away hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars to promote the “Arab Spring” will do nothing. Why not just donate stacks of greenbacks to the homeless who are freezing right now throughout Europe? They could put it to good use and burn it for some much needed warmth. But it seems that you’d rather aid the “Arab Spring” in an effort to somehow instill sudden, fuzzy-warm feelings in the hearts and minds of Islamists instead.  President BO, not only do your policies stink, you’re much more out of touch with reality than I could have ever imagined …

By Susan Cornwell – “(Reuters) – The White House announced plans on Monday to help ‘Arab Spring’ countries swept by revolutions with more than $800 million in economic aid, while maintaining U.S. military aid to Egypt.

In his annual budget message to Congress, President Barack Obama asked that military aid to Egypt be kept at the level of recent years — $1.3 billion — despite a crisis triggered by an Egyptian probe targeting American democracy activists.

The proposals are part of Obama’s budget request for fiscal year 2013, which begins October 1. His requests need the approval of Congress, where some lawmakers want to cut overseas spending to address U.S. budget shortfalls and are particularly angry at Egypt.

Obama proposed $51.6 billion in funding for the U.S. State Department and foreign aid overall, when $8.2 billion in assistance to war zones is included. The ‘core budget’ for the category would increase by 1.6 percent, officials said.

Most of the economic aid for the Arab Spring countries — $770 million — would go to establish a new ‘Middle East and North Africa Incentive Fund,’ the president said in his budget plan.

Analysts said it was difficult to tell how much of the proposal was actually new money.

‘As presented it’s very difficult to determine if the Arab spring fund is new wine in new bottles or old wine in new bottles,’ said John Norris, a former U.S. foreign aid worker now at the Center for American Progress.” Read more.

Iran: Ayatollah Strategist Declares, ‘In the Name of Allah, Iran Must Attack Israel by 2014’

And “by 2014” is a euphemism for “as soon as possible”, beginning with reprisals against soft Israeli targets such as synagogues and embassies before any major strike against Israel proper …

Reuters – “Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s strategist provided the legal and religious justification for the annihilation of Israel and the Jewish people, in a document published on conservative Farsi website Alef. Reports of the document began to circulate the internet this week.

The document, written by strategy specialist Alireza Forghani, outlined the reasons why, ‘In the name of Allah, Iran must attack Israel by 2014.’

Claiming to only represent the personal opinion of its author, and not the Iranian government, the doctrine was published on a website believed to have close ties with the Ayatollah.

Forghani called the Jewish state a ‘cancerous tumor for the Middle East’ and reminded his readers that ‘All our troubles are due to Israel!’

‘Every Muslim is obliged to equip himself against Israel,’ he urged, reasoning that if the Muslim world does not attack Israel in the near future, ‘the opportunity could be lost and it may not be possible to stop them.’

The document explained that the war against Israel must be carried out in the name of ‘defensive jihad’ – or the protecting of Islam against aggressors ‘who want to gain domination over the Muslims and kill them.'” Read more.

Iran Suspected of Attacks Against Israeli Embassies in India and Georgia, Iran Blames Israel

If Ahmadinejad sneezes at dinner, it is blamed on Israel. Must be Jewish pepper. If the great Ayatollah stubs his toe in the dark, it is blamed on Israel. Must be a Jewish light bulb. If an earthquake strikes Iran, it is blamed on promiscuous women. The Jews must have corrupted them. Yes, everything that happens is the work of Israel and the Jews.  Except for the lack of rain in Iran. That’s Europe’s fault.  But the technology must be Jewish …

“A bomb attack aimed at members of the Israeli embassy has injured four people in New Delhi, India, according to NDTV.

Israeli officials have said there was another attempt on a diplomat’s car in Tbilisi, Georgia, but the device did not go off. A Georgian worker at the Israeli embassy in Tbilisi said he heard strange noises in his car and alerted the police, according to Haaretz.

Security officials found the explosive device underneath the car and prevented the attack. Israeli diplomats were also reportedly targeted in Amsterdam, Netherlands.

The blast in New Delhi took place late Monday evening and is reported to have occurred near the Indian prime minister’s home on Aurangzeb Road. Eyewitnesses said they saw the attackers stick explosives onto the car at a traffic signal and drive off.

NDTV has reported that the Indian defense ministry has identified the explosive as a sticky bomb that is said to contain foreign substances. Indian police officials had no CCTV coverage in the area and the investigation is now being handled as a terrorist attack.

The injured Israeli diplomat has been identified as Tal Yehoshua Koren. She was on her way to get her children from the American school. The Indian driver of the car was also injured in the attack.

Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu has blamed Iran and Hezbollah for the attack according to Haaretz reporter Barak Ravid.” Read more.

‘Iran says Israel attacked its own embassies’ – “Israel bombed its own embassies in New Dehli and Tbilisi in order to ‘tarnish Iran’s friendly ties with the host countries,’ Iran said on Monday, after denying Israeli accusations that Tehran and its ally in Hezbollah launched the attacks. Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast said that ‘Israel perpetrated the terror actions to launch psychological warfare against Iran,’ according to the state Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA). He said that such actions were in Israel’s ‘innate nature,’ adding that Iran condemns terrorism in the strongest terms.” Read more.

Palestinian Authority and Hamas Both Agree (Again): They Will Never Recognize Israel as a Jewish State

By Elad Benari – “Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas said on Sunday that the PA will not meet Israel’s demand that it recognize Israel as the Jewish State, Kol Yisrael radio reported.

According to the report, Abbas explained this statement using the reasoning that once that the PA agrees to this requirement, there would be no value to the million and a half PA Arabs living in Israel, and no refugee would be allowed to come back to Israel, in keeping with the PA demand that Israel allow millions of Arab refugees to return to their old homes in Israeli cities as part of a future agreement.

Abbas made the comments during a meeting of Arab foreign ministers in Cairo, the report said, and added that Israel still refuses to stop building in Judea and Samaria. He said that one day PA Arabs will wake up and find a Jewish settlement in the heart of the PLO’s Muqata headquarters in Ramallah.” Read more.

Gaza Premier: Hamas ‘Will Never Recognise Israel’ – “Hamas ‘will never recognise Israel,’ Gaza Prime Minister Ismail Haniya said Saturday in a speech in Iran that is likely to complicate Palestinian efforts to form a unity government in the teeth of opposition from the Jewish state. ‘They want us to recognise the Israeli occupation and cease resistance but, as the representative of the Palestinan people and in the name of all the world’s freedom seekers, I am announcing from Azadi Square in Tehran that we will never recognise Israel,’ Haniya said. ‘The resistance will continue until all Palestinian land, including Al-Quds (Jerusalem), has been liberated and all the refugees have returned,’ he said.” Read more.

Walid Shoebat: Iran To Obtain Nuclear Weapons, Will Destroy Saudi Arabia

Many Christians, and even Jews, who are paying close attention to recent developments in the Middle East between Iran and Saudi Arabia are now beginning to piece together what the Prophets of old foresaw long ago …

Shoebat: “Israel is in great danger. But I’m not worried about Israel. Yes, it’s in a great danger, but we keep forgetting about the most important element in the Bible: God. God is on the side of Israel. Iran will gain its nuclear [weapons], no question …”

Host: “Wait, can you say that again, because that’s pretty — that’s a big statement. Are you telling me that Iran is going to succeed in developing nuclear weapons…”

Shoebat: “Absolutely.”

Host: “… and then do what. Launch them against Israel?”

Shoebat: “They could launch them against Israel. But remember, the Israelis have the Arrow missile. It could meet any missile coming from Iran mid-way over the top of Saudi Arabia. And if you look at the Bible, remember, the Harlot is destroyed by two entities. By … the hand of My people, Israel, and then you have in Isaiah 21, Arise O Elam to destroy what? Arabia. Elam is Iran. Persia will destroy Arabia. I believe Arabia is the Harlot of Babylon. If you look at the Bible — when you read Babylon in the Bible — all the names of the cities, entities, regions within those [areas of] Babylon in the Bible, you will never find any ancient name of any Babylonian city … Every single vicinity [mentioned in Isaiah 21] is in Arabia. The burden against Dumah. Dumah is in Arabia… Dedan, Kedar, those are all in Arabia. It’s born from Babylon. That’s why it’s called the daughter of Babylon. We need to focus on Saudi Arabia because it is mentioned heavily in the Bible.”

Jeremiah 50:9, “For behold, I will raise and cause to come up against Babylon An assembly of great nations from the north country, And they shall array themselves against her; From there she shall be captured. Their arrows shall be like those of an expert warrior; None shall return in vain.”

Saudi Arabia to Acquire Nuclear Weapons to Counter Iran

Saudi Arabia will try, but she will not succeed. Unless the Ayatollahs are already one step ahead with a few A-Bombs of their own up their sleeve, I don’t believe that Tehran would be careless enough to conduct any tests on Iranian soil. Besides, it seems to me that North Korea has already conducted most of Iran’s nuclear tests for them, with one more possibly in store …

At the same time, the Saudi kingdom would upgrade its planned civil nuclear program to include a military dimension, beginning uranium enrichment to develop weapons-grade material in the long term.

Saudi officials emphasise that Riyadh has no military nuclear program at present and will continue to lobby for nuclear disarmament across the region.
