The officials stressed that Israel does not seem to have fully decided whether to launch a ground operation in Lebanon, but that the IDF is prepared for one. Such an operation, if it takes place, is likely to be ‘limited’ in scope, they said.

The officials stressed to ABC that the goal of such an operation would be to allow tens of thousands of Israelis evacuated from northern Israel on October 8, 2023, to return to their homes – a goal which is not achieved simply by ‘decapitating’ Hezbollah.” Read more.

This is both to prepare the ground for your possible entry and to continue degrading Hezbollah,’ Lt Gen Herzi Halevi said. The Jerusalem Post – “Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah was killed in the IDF’s strike on Hezbollah’s headquarters in Beirut on Friday, the IDF announced Saturday morning. 

Almost 32 years after co-founding the Lebanese terrorist organization, Nasrallah was killed, alongside Ali Karaki, Hezbollah‘s commander of the southern front, and other Hezbollah commanders. 

Israel’s air force struck Hezbollah’s central headquarters using precise intelligence from the intelligence wing and defense system. The headquarters were based underground, under a residential building in the Lebanese capital.” Read more.

Iran: Israeli Strike On Beirut ‘Changes The Rules Of The Game’ – “Iran’s embassy in Beirut condemned Israel’s airstrikes on Dahiyeh, the southern suburbs of Beirut, on Friday, saying the strikes ‘represent a serious escalation that changes the rules of the game’. It added that Israel would be ‘punished appropriately’. Since Israel’s escalations in Lebanon, Iran has signalled that it is reluctant to get directly involved in Hezbollah’s fight with Israel.” Read more.

Hamas Rails At Israel Over Strike Targeting Hezbollah’s Beirut HQ – “Hamas condemns an Israeli strike on Beirut’s southern suburbs that Israel says targeted the headquarters of the Palestinian terror group’s Lebanese ally Hezbollah. ‘We… strongly condemn the brutal and ongoing Zionist aggression and escalation against the brotherly Lebanese people through savage airstrikes’ including today’s attack that targeted ‘residential buildings,’ Hamas, which is at war with Israel in Gaza, it says in a statement.” Read more.

Hezbollah’s HQ was built under multiple residential buildings in Beirut. Has justice been served? It undoubtedly has for a large number of Hezbollah leaders and operatives in recent weeks, but whether or not that will now include the terrorist leader Hassan Nasrallah remains to be seen. One thing is for certain, however. If Nasrallah was the target, Israel would not have flattened upwards of six residential buildings and used multiple bunker busters without solid intel telling them that Nasrallah was present …

The Times of Israel – “The Israeli Air Force carried out massive targeted airstrikes in the Lebanese capital of Beirut on Friday evening, with the military saying it had struck Hezbollah’s main headquarters.

The attack shook the Lebanese capital and sent thick clouds of smoke over the city. There were reports of many casualties in the multiple strikes.

Unconfirmed Hebrew media reports said Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah was targeted, leading to widespread speculation and conflicting reports as to his fate.

A source close to Hezbollah said the Israeli strikes flattened six buildings. It was the heaviest attack in Beirut in almost a year of conflict between Hezbollah and Israel.

A Lebanese security source told Reuters that Hezbollah’s top officials are usually gathered at the site that was targeted.” Read more.

The Jerusalem Post – “President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan slammed the United Nations on Tuesday morning in his remarks to the General Assembly for allowing international justice to be left to the five members of the security council, saying the war in Gaza is the most dramatic example.

Erdogan also slammed Israel’s allies for supporting the country in an ‘unconditional manner.’

‘How long are you going to be able to carry the shame of witnessing this massacre, dear friends, while children are dying in Gaza, in Ramallah, in Lebanon, while babies are dying in incubators?’ Erdogan said.

Erdogan said the only reason for Israel’s aggression against the Palestinian people is the unconditional support of a group of countries.

Countries that have a say over Israel are openly complicit in this massacre, he said, and those who are supposedly working for a ceasefire in front of the stage continue to send arms and ammunition to Israel so that it can continue its massacres in the background.

‘I would like to wave at my brothers and sisters at the legitimate resistance in Palestine,’ he said.

Turkey supports South Africa’s case at the International Court of Justice to ensure that Israel’s crimes do not go unpunished,’ he said.

‘We will take every step necessary for justice to be served in the case for which we have applied,’ Erdogan said. ‘Those who murdered 41,000 people cannot rest until those who gave the orders pulled the trigger and dropped the bombs are held accountable for their crimes, we will not heave a sigh of relief.’

Erdogan called for coercive measures against Israel in the absence of the implementation of UN Security Council resolution number 2735, the ceasefire proposal announced in May by President Biden, as he said Israel’s behavior has once again demonstrated that it is ‘imperative for the international community to develop a protection mechanism for Palestinians.’

‘Seventy years ago, just as Hitler was stopped by an alliance of humanity, Netanyahu and his murder network must be stopped by an alliance of humanity,’ Erdogan said.” Read more.

The Jerusalem Post – “The IDF conducted a targeted strike in Beirut, the military announced on Friday afternoon. The primary target of the strike was Radwan Force commander and head of Hezbollah Operations, Ibrahim Aqil.

AFP, citing a source close to Hezbollah, reported that Aqil perished in the strike. Reuters later reported the same, citing two security sources in Lebanon.

The security sources told Reuters that other members of Hezbollah’s Radwan Force were killed when the Israeli strike hit a meeting they were attending.

The Lebanese Health Ministry claimed that eight had been killed in the strike and that another 59 were wounded.” Read more.

The Jerusalem Post – “The United Nations General Assembly on Wednesday voted 124-14 to strip Israel of the right to self-defense against Palestinian terrorism in the West Bank, Gaza Strip, and east Jerusalem.

The text of the resolution was based on the International Court of Justice’s advisory opinion in July that Israel’s occupation of Palestinian territory was illegal.

Prior to the vote, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said he supported the ICJ option and would abide by the vote, which calls on the IDF to withdraw to the pre-1967 lines within 12 months.

The resolution also calls on member states not to sell arms or military equipment to Israel that would be used in Gaza, the West Bank, and east Jerusalem. It calls for a boycott of all Israeli products produced over the pre-1967 lines.

The resolution has declaratory power only but provides international backing to those countries that want to take additional steps against Israel.

The text does not mention Hamas, the October 7 invasion of Israel, or the remaining 101 hostages in Gaza. It makes no requirements of Hamas or the Palestinians with regard to attacks on Israel.” Read more.

Israel National News – “Several explosions were reported Wednesday afternoon in the Dahieh area of Beirut, Lebanon, as exploding hand-held radios killed at least five people and injured approximately 500. Lebanon’s state news agency reported that three people were killed in Beqaa.

According to Sky News Arabic, the explosions took place during the funeral for Hezbollah-affiliated Lebanese MP Ali Ammar’s son, who was killed when his beeper exploded on Tuesday.

The explosions occurred in multiple locations, including in private homes, the reports added. Injuries were reported in Dahieh, Ghaziyeh, and Al-Sarafand in southern Lebanon.

Multiple Hezbollah terrorists are among the injured in the explosions.

Asharq Al-Awsat reported that ‘hundreds’ were wounded in the second wave, many of them in their stomachs and hands.

In at least one instance, a vehicle caught fire after a communications device exploded.

A Sky News reporter attending one of the funerals said that Hezbollah terrorists are now throwing away both their phones’ and their communications devices’ batteries.

Reports soon said that the second ‘wave’ of explosions affected thousands of military communications devices, which exploded within minutes of each other across Lebanon. This system is an alternate system, used following Tuesday’s explosions.

The country’s Health Ministry later said that nine people were killed in Wednesday’s radio explosions, and over 300 were injured.” Read more.
