Israel National News – “A series of explosions were reported in the Dahieh area of Beirut on Tuesday afternoon, leaving thousands injured.

According to Lebanese reports, dozens of people were killed in the explosions.

Later reports said that ‘dozens’ of simultaneous explosions took place in Syria as well, when pagers worn by Hezbollah terrorists exploded.

Dahieh is known as a Hezbollah stronghold.

According to Sky News, encrypted pagers used by Hezbollah for internal messaging exploded. Reuters reported that Hezbollah only began using the beeper devices in question within the last few months; Al-Hadath reported similarly.

Arabic media reports that over 4,000 individuals were injured at several separate locations. In Damascus, Syria, a vehicle containing a pager exploded when the device detonated.

According to Sabereen News, a diplomatic figure in Lebanon was among those injured in the explosions. Other reports said that the Iranian ambassador to Lebanon was among those injured. It is not clear if this is the ‘diplomatic figure’ referred to in the Sabereen News report.

Al-Hadath noted that among the injured are senior Hezbollah commanders and their aides.” Read more.

The Jerusalem Post – “Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan said on Saturday Islamic countries should form an alliance against what he called ‘the growing threat of expansionism’ from Israel.

He made the comment after describing what Palestinian and Turkish officials said was the killing by Israeli troops of a Turkish-American woman taking part in a protest on Friday against settlement expansion in the West Bank.

‘The only step that will stop Israeli arrogance, Israeli banditry, and Israeli state terrorism is the alliance of Islamic countries,’ Erdogan said at an Islamic schools’ association event near Istanbul.

He said recent steps that Turkey has taken to improve ties with Egypt and Syria are aimed at ‘forming a line of solidarity against the growing threat of expansionism,’ which he said also threatened Lebanon and Syria.” Read more.

Turkey Calls For Emergency Muslim Summit To Discuss “Israel’s Attacks On Jerusalem” – “Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Monday urged the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to convene an emergency summit to discuss the war in Gaza and what he described as ‘Israel’s attacks on Jerusalem’ … Erdogan claimed that Israel was ‘targeting’ the Al-Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem as part of its ‘expansionist’ drive. Jerusalem and the mosque are Ankara’s ‘red line’, he stressed. ‘It is unthinkable for the OIC, whose duty is to take care of the Jerusalem cause, to remain indifferent to these attacks. Iranian President Calls For Muslim World To Unite Against Israel – “The Iranian president made the call while speaking to a group of elites and academics in Iraq’s Basra. If the Muslims are united with each other, the Israeli regime could not continue the massacre of Muslims, he said. Israel waged a genocidal war on the besieged Gaza on October 7 after the Palestinian Hamas Resistance group carried out a historic operation against the occupying entity in retaliation for the regime’s intensified atrocities against the Palestinian people. Israel has imposed a complete siege on the densely populated territory, cutting off fuel, electricity, food, and water to the more than two million Palestinians living there.” Read more.

This is a monumental embarrassment for Iran. Hours after the death of Hezbollah’s most senior military commander in Beirut, Hamas political chief Ismail Haniyeh, who was granted Turkish citizenship in 2020 and had been living a life of wealth and privilege behind the protection of the Qatari government, is assassinated while visiting Tehran for the swearing in ceremony of Iran’s newly “elected” president, Masud Pezeshkian. This is the highest ranking death of a Hamas political official since the war began. Interestingly, if it wasn’t for the sudden and unexpected death of former Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi in May, Haniyeh would have never left the protection of Qatari territory. The Jerusalem Post – “Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh was assassinated in the Iranian capital of Tehran early Wednesday morning, the Palestinian terror group said, noting the killing could drastically change the outlook of Israel’s war on Hamas.

Hamas deputy chief in Gaza Khalil Al-Hayya, citing witnesses who had been with Haniyeh in Iran, later said that the missile that killed Haniyeh struck him ‘directly,’ Reuters reported.

As a result of the missile strike, windows, doors, and walls in his room were destroyed, Al-Hayya told a press conference in Tehran.

Haniyeh, along with one of his guards, was killed at around 2:00 a.m. at his Tehran residence following the launch of projectiles from an adjacent building, according to Al-Arabiya and other Arab outlets.

Hamas claimed Israel was responsible for the targeted killing, saying in a statement that their political leader was killed in ‘a treacherous Zionist raid on his residence in Tehran.'” Read more.

And invade they will, but it will only be when Turkey, working behind the scenes, has formed an alliance of surrounding Islamist nations and fighters to march against Israel. ‘We must be very strong so that Israel cannot strike Palestine,’ he said. ‘Just like we entered Karabakh and the way we entered Libya, maybe we’ll do the same thing. There’s nothing we can’t do. We have to be strong.’

Erdogan referred to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict between Azerbaijan and Armenia, which resulted recently in Azerbaijan taking control of the breakaway region. Azerbaijan notably managed to regain control of the territory with the help of Israel and Turkey, with Turkish forces not entering the fighting.

He’s at it again. Turkish President Erdogan said that recent events with Israel today “will lead to a big catastrophe” tomorrow. It’s actually prophetic, because it indeed will. But the coming “big catastrophe” in the end will not be one that comes upon Israel. It will come upon Turkey and upon all the “many nations with him” (Ezekiel 38:22) …

The Jerusalem Post – “President Tayyip Erdogan said Turkey stood in solidarity with Lebanon amid growing tensions with Israel and called on regional countries on Wednesday to also support Beirut.

Cross-border strains between Israel and Lebanon’s Hezbollah have been escalating in recent weeks, stoking fears of an all-out Israel-Hezbollah war. Shelling across Israel’s northern border has led to the evacuation of tens of thousands of people from areas on both sides of the frontier.

In a speech to his AK Party lawmakers in parliament, Erdogan said Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu planned to spread the Gaza war to the region.

‘It seems that Israel has now turned its eyes on Lebanon after destroying and burning Gaza. We see Western countries giving Israel support behind the scenes,’ Erdogan said.

‘Netanyahu’s plans to spread the war to the region will lead to a big catastrophe,’ he said, adding that the Western support for Israel was ‘pitiful.’

‘Turkey stands with the brotherly people and state of Lebanon. I call on other countries in the region to stand in solidarity with Lebanon,’ he said.

Nigeria: 350 Captives Rescued From Boko Haram Islamists – “Nigerian military forces rescued 209 children, 135 women, and six men from Boko Haram on Tuesday. Many of the hostages had been held captive by the terrorists for years. Authorities found the victims in the Sambisa Forest in the heart of Boko Haram’s territory in the North. ‘I always wanted to escape but couldn’t because of the children,’ Hajara Umara told the Associated Press. ‘If they caught you trying to escape, they would torture you and imprison you indefinitely.’  The Islamic extremist group is responsible for the kidnapping and death of thousands since its establishment in 2009. Sulaina Nabirye, 50, of Kamuli, Kamuli District, put her faith in Christ on Feb. 10, and since then her 31-year-old son had tried to persuade her to return to Islam, said the relative, whose name is withheld for security reasons. ‘During the month of Ramadan, she complained of her son pressuring her to stop attending church and revert back to Islam, since he was studying to become an imam at Bugembe Mosque,’ the relative said. ‘When she refused to convert back to Islam, he stopped visiting her at her house and threatened to chase or even kill her.'” Read more.

Israel National News – “The International Court of Justice today delivered its ruling on the Israeli operation in Rafah, ordering that Israel cease all military operations in the Rafah governate. The case comes as part of a larger petition filed by South Africa against Israel, accusing Israel of genocide of the Palestinian people. Other countries have filed requests to join the case as co-claimants for both sides.

The original case was heard approximately four months ago, with a temporary verdict providing certain interim measures against Israel announced a month after that.

The court called the humanitarian situation in Rafah ‘disastrous’, citing an alleged lack of basic necessities in the city and widespread displacement due to Israeli evacuation orders. It also declared that Israel’s humanitarian evacuation and supply efforts have been insufficient to satisfy the existing provisional ruling.

The court ordered that Israel submit a report within a month showing its compliance. Israel was also ordered to comply with investigations into allegations of genocide, and to maintain functional humanitarian routes into Gaza, with emphasis on the Rafah crossing.

Judge Barak and Judge Sebutinde both dissented, as they did in the original ruling.

As part of the verdict, the court called for the immediate release of all remaining hostages, calling it deeply concerning that they remained in captivity.” Read more.
