Five Earthquakes Rattle Central Oklahoma, Nerves Tuesday Morning

By Rusty Surette, News 9 – “Several earthquakes shook central Oklahoma in the early morning hours of Tuesday, including one that hit while News 9 was on the air.

News 9 received hundreds of phone calls, emails, Facebook and Twitter messages soon after the first earthquake hit.

The first quake was reported around 1:45 a.m. about three miles west of Chandler. The United State Geological Survey says it had a magnitude of 3.0.

Fifteen minutes later, the strongest earthquake of the morning hit the Oklahoma City metro area. The 4.3 quake was centered near Luther, 29 miles east and northeast of Oklahoma City. This earthquake awakened many residents and shook buildings from Oklahoma City to Stillwater.

The USGS reported a third quake at 2:15 a.m. near Boley, Oklahoma. This one had a magnitude of 2.8. One minute later, a fourth early-morning quake shook the area of Luther and Choctaw. The USGS says this one had a magnitude of 3.3.

At 5:16 a.m., a fifth earthquake measuring 4.2 was recorded four miles east northeast of Luther. This one struck while News 9 Meteorologist Jed Castles was on the air sharing the forecast, but he was so focused Stan Miller and Bobbie Miller had to interrupt him and point out the lights in the studio were swinging because of the latest earthquake.

There have been some reports of minor damage from Tuesday morning’s earthquakes, but no reports of injuries.” Source – News 9.

Powerful 7.8 Earthquake Felt Across Middle East And Western Asia Strikes Iran, Hundreds Feared Dead

Communications to the region around the epicentre, in a remote corner of the south-east of Iran, appear to be cut off.

Tremors were felt across the Gulf region, across Pakistan and well into north-west India on Tuesday, when the earthquake struck at 10.44am GMT.

The US Geological Survey said it had measured the earthquake at magnitude 7.8 and gave its location at 50 miles east-south-east of the town of Khash, in Iran. It is the biggest earthquake to strike Iran for 40 years.

Though the area is largely desert and mountains, there are several major cities, including Zahedan, only 125 miles away, which has more than half a million inhabitants.

One Iranian told The Guardian that the small town of Hiduj, which had a population of around 1,000 according to a national census conducted in 2006, had been badly damaged.

The Iranian semi-official news agency Fars quoted Tehran University’s geophysics centre as saying the quake had hit the south-eastern city of Saravan in Iran’s Sistan and Baluchistan province, at 3.14pm local time and reported that it had killed at least 40 people, according to some of their sources. At least seven villages near Saravan had been affected, the agency said.

But Fars also quoted Fariborz Rashedi, the head of medical emergencies for Sistan and Baluchistan province as saying the situation in his province was ‘normal’, with only three people injured.

On the Pakistan side, the situation seemed just as confused.” Read more.

Hundreds Feared Dead – “Iran has been hit by its most powerful earthquake for nearly 40 years and there is confusion over the number of casualities. Iranian crisis centre official Morteza Akbarpour told the ISNA news agency that the earthquake had so far,’not caused any fatalities’. ‘The epicentre of the quake was located in the desert and population centres do not surround it. There were no fatalities in the towns around the epicentre,’ he said. However, another official was quoted by a news agency as saying he feared hundreds had died.” Read more.

Jordanian Islamist Praises Boston Bombing, Is ‘Happy To See The Horror In America’

By JAMAL HALABY, Huffington Post – “The head of an extremist Jordanian Muslim Salafi group said early Tuesday that he was ‘happy to see the horror in America’ after the explosions in Boston.

‘American blood isn’t more precious than Muslim blood,’ said Mohammad al-Chalabi, who was convicted in an al-Qaida-linked plot to attack U.S. and other Western diplomatic missions in Jordan in 2003.

‘Let the Americans feel the pain we endured by their armies occupying Iraq and Afghanistan and killing our people there,’ he said early Tuesday.

Al-Chalabi served seven years in prison for his part in the foiled attack. His group is outlawed in Jordan.

A Mideast counterterrorism official based in Jordan said the blasts ‘carry the hallmark of an organized terrorist group, like al-Qaida.’ He did not give actual evidence linking al-Qaida to the bombing.

‘From the little information available, one can say it was a well-coordinated, well-targeted and near-simultaneous attack,’ he said. ‘Luckily, the amount of explosives used is small, judging from the casualty figure and explosion area.’

A Jordanian security official said security was beefed up around the U.S. Embassy in Amman after the bombing in Boston.

‘As the unfortunate news unfolded, we immediately stationed more police patrols around the embassy,’ he said. He declined to disclose any details, citing the sensitive nature of the information.

Both officials insisted on anonymity, as they were not authorized to brief reporters on security matters.” Source – Huffington Post.

‘Stay Home … Don’t Congregate In Large Crowds’: Third Explosion Confirmed At JFK Library, President To Address Nation Tonight

No absolute confirmation that this incident is related to the Boston Marathon explosions, but the timing is highly suspicious …

By Dave Wedge and Joe Dwinell, The Boston Herald – “A third explosion occurred just after 3 this afternoon at John F. Kennedy library in what is now being called another confirmed attack.

Boston Police Commissioner Edward Davis said ‘a third incident — explosion — was at the JFK Library’ on Columbia Point.

‘This is very much an ongoing event,’ Davis said. ‘Stay home … don’t congregate in large crowds.’

Shortly around 3 p.m. alarms went off at the library and black smoke poured from the historic building, filling the sky over the harbor.

The fire broke out as emergency crews were responding to two deadly explosions at the Marathon finish line.

JFK library director Tom Putnam was aware of the damage to the building, but said no injuries were reported.

Boston ladder trucks rushed to the scene and firefighters could be seen on the roof.

A large group gathered at the entrance to the library which is completely torched and covered in black soot.

John Boutin of Raynham was walking along the Harborwalk when he saw the smoke.

‘All of a sudden I heard the alarms go off and looked up and saw thick black smoke. It was very thick and it was very black.'” Source – The Boston Herald.

President to address nation after Boston explosions – “President Obama scheduled a press conference to address the nation after a pair of explosions killed two and injured dozens at the Boston Marathon today. The president is scheduled to speak at 5:10 Central Time, according to the White House. Obama was briefed on Monday’s explosions by FBI Director Robert Mueller and Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano. The White House said the president also spoke with Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick and Boston Mayor Tom Menino and pledged to provide whatever federal support was needed in responding to the incident.” Read more.

Eyewitness: ‘Blood Everywhere’ After Powerful Explosions Near Boston Marathon Finish Line, Multiple Deaths Reported

Apparently the Boston Marathon headquarters have been locked down. The explosion was powerful enough to be felt blocks away. Reports are indicating that a number of victims have lost limbs and there have been multiple deaths. The suspect — a Muslim man from Saudi Arabia — is being held under guard at a local Boston hospital with shrapnel wounds.   More details to come …

Update: One reporter on Fox 25 in Boston says she believes a third explosion was heard in the distance (this may have been the controlled explosion of a possible third bomb reported by CBS). NY Post is reporting at least 12 have been killed after initial two explosions …

Update: Fortunately, the official death count remains at 3, however over 260 have been wounded …

Reuters – “Two explosions struck the Boston Marathon as runners crossed the finish line on Monday, witnesses said, injuring an unknown number of people on what is ordinarily a festive day in the city.

Police reported at least one explosion and witnesses said there were two, which hit as spectators were cheering on runners finishing the race.

Reporters in the media center heard two blasts.

‘There was an explosion. Police, fire and EMS (emergency medical services) are on the scene, we have no indication of how many people are injured,’ a spokeswoman for the Boston Police Department said.

Mike Mitchell of Vancouver, Canada, a runner who had finished the race, said he was looking back at the finish line and saw a ‘massive explosion.’

Smoke rose 50 feet in the air, Mitchell said. People began running and screaming after hearing the noise, Mitchell said.

‘Everybody freaked out,’ Mitchell said.

Television images showed ambulances, fire trucks and dozens of police vehicles near the finish line.

Hundreds of thousands of spectators typically line the 26.2 mile race course, with the heaviest crowds near the finish line.” Read more.

There it seems to be assuming the same significance as the Stephen Lawrence trial in Britain, in other words a case that the multicult elite seizes on and instrumentalises to advance its political agenda. And the Turkish government is doing the same.

The trial of the one surviving member of the group is due to start soon in Munich. Some recent drama there has focused on the question of whether Turkish journalists should be admitted to the proceedings. Journalist slots for attendance at the trial were allocated as they normally are in Germany, on a first come/first served basis. This wasn’t good enough for the Turks, none of whom applied in time. The Turkish government has created a diplomatic fuss about this and the dhimmi German elites, as usual, have cravenly appeased them. After a case brought by a Turkish magazine, the German Supreme Court ordered Munich’s High Court to grant a reasonable number of places to representatives of foreign media.

But the appeasement hasn’t stopped there. More than a million euros was spent preparing the court for the trial. Note one of the very interesting changes made. The crucifix has been removed from the court room!

India: Muslim Mob Attacks Christians For Spreading The Gospel, ‘The Anti-Christian Intolerance … Is Reaching Alarming Proportions’

By Nirmala Carvalho, AsiaNews – “‘The anti-Christian intolerance in Jammu and Kashmir is reaching alarming proportions’ is the complaint of Sajan George, president of the Global Council of Indian Christians (GCIC), after the arrest of two Christians in Srinagar, the capital of Indian state, on false charges of forced conversions. The arrest took place on April 10 last, after a Muslim mob attacked two men, five women and two children, all of British origin.

The foreigners had been living for about four years Shivpora, a district of Srinagar. According to local residents one of them, James Thomas, was engaged in conversion activities. So, two days ago a large group of people attacked the Christians, threw stones at their vehicles and tried to destroy their house. The intervention of the police prevented the demolition and the wounding of those present, but officials arrested James and Alora Milli to clarify the charges against them.

The police have impounded the building and evacuated the foreigners. The local imam told police that he had repeatedly asked the foreigners not to convert Muslims, but to no avail. ‘Now – he added – they can no longer access the area. And even if they try to convert anyone, I will prevent it at all costs.’

‘The false and defamatory accusations of the Imam – says Sajan George – and the complicity of the police in arresting these Christians are a serious threat to religious freedom, a right guaranteed by the Constitution of India.’

Jammu and Kashmir is the only Muslim-majority state of India where religious intolerance frequently occurs. This past January, a group of foreign tourists risked being lynched after the publication of some posts on Facebook. An exemplary case dates back to 2011, when the Rev. Chander Mani Khanna, pastor of All Saints Anglican Church, was arrested for having baptized seven Muslims and then indicted by an Islamic court (which has no legal authority in the State or in India, ed) for proselytism and forced conversions.” Source – Asia News.

Reuters – “Lahore: Pakistani authorities have dropped a plan to revive the ‘Basant’ festival and kite-flying in the central province of Punjab in the wake of a warning issued by Jamaat-ud-Dawah, which has described the event as ‘un-Islamic’.

The interim government of Punjab headed by caretaker Chief Minister Najam Sethi surrendered to detractors of the festival and dropped the proposal to revive Basant.

Sethi, a journalist by profession, had recently spoken about his desire to revive Basant, which he had described as an intrinsic part of Lahori culture.

During a high-level meeting held in Lahore on Monday, officials were warned by police about the possible negative fallout from the revival of Basant, which marks the onset of spring.

Police officials warned the government of possible protests and a fallout of a warning issued by the JuD, a source said. After the meeting, senior officials recommended Sethi to drop any plans to mark the festival, to which the CM acted.” Read more.

Cell Phone Music Sparks Islamist Attacks Against Christians – “A mob of Muslims, apparently angered by Christian youths playing music on their phones from the back of a rickshaw taxi, responded by attacking residents of the mostly Christian Francis Colony section of Gujranwala, near Pakistan’s city of Lahore. The incident started after the prayer leader of the Lahore suburb’s largest mosque accused the teenagers of playing their music too loudly. A scuffle resulted, but the argument quickly erupted into an armed attack by a Muslim mob on the Christian homes in the Francis Colony.” Read more.

Iranian Military Chief Vows To Defend North Korea From US, ‘America And Her Allies Will Suffer Countless Thousands Of Victims’

Jazayeri made the statement on Friday, April 5.  He blamed increasing tensions in the Korean peninsula on ‘excessive demands by the United States,’ which he said was ‘tightening the noose on North Korea.’  The Iranian military leader said that those aggressive activities on the part of the U.S. left the North Koreans with no option but to confront the ‘big Satan.’

‘The nation and government of North Korea has always been subject to threat, despotism, and imperialism by the U.S, therefore they consider it their right to boost their own defensive power in order to inhibit their enemy,’ said Jazayeri.  ‘The time is long past that the United States can bully other countries.’

And just to make sure Americans understand he means business, Jazayeri warned that ‘America and her allies will suffer countless thousands of victims’ should Iran and North Korea be provoked into a war with the U.S.

Muslim Persecution Of Christians Escalating In Egypt, ‘The Situation Appears To Be Worsening’

By Brian O’Neel, National Catholic Register – “CAIRO — Tonight, an Egyptian Christian mother will lie awake, worrying if her kidnapped daughter was merely forced to marry a radical Islamist and convert or if her fate was much worse.

This Sunday, an Egyptian father will hitchhike more than 10 miles to the nearest church with his sons, not knowing whether the boys will be kidnapped by gunmen who don’t conceal their identities. Also uncertain is whether he and his fellow congregants will make it through Mass alive or whether extremists will set off explosives and shoot those inside.

Any day of any week, a priest in this ancient land will wonder how he can help his tiny flock survive against a system that basically says, ‘If you are not Muslim, you are not Egyptian. Therefore, you have no worth.’

Furthermore, Christian families all over the nation will wonder, ‘Do I stay or do I leave? For no one should have to live like this.’

Such questions have been a fact of Christian existence for a long time, but the situation appears to be worsening under the fundamentalism of the Muslim Brotherhood regime that took over leadership of Egypt two years ago.

The most recent spate of violence broke out in a northern Cairo suburb on April 5, leaving eight Copts and one Muslim dead, the Christian advocacy group Voice of the Copts reported.

Early reports cited rumors that Christians had painted two swastikas on a mosque’s wall, according to a report by Assyrian International News Agency (AINA), but, in fact, the actual vandals were two Muslim children, and the mosque’s imam had already dealt with them. Nonetheless, the rumor continued to spread, alleging that Christians had painted not swastikas, but crosses on the outside of the mosque. ” Read more.

Muslim Persecution Of Christians Escalating In Pakistan, ‘The Situation Is Becoming Alarming’

By Mohshin Habib, Gatestone Institute – “In recent years, the Christians of Pakistan have become one of the most vulnerable religious communities in the world. Most of the time, the Pakistani extremists use two common accusations to persecute the Christians: defamatory remarks toward Mohammed, and burning pages of Quran.

Christians in Pakistan, a news site on behalf of the Pakistani Christian community, predicted that the situation is becoming alarming. The site alleges that there are currently many cases being reported of Christians being targeted, but no action to reform or address the problem by any government official.

In a recent incident in Badami Bagh near Pakistan’s eastern city of Lahore, Sawan Masih, a Pakistani Christian and two Muslims were quarreling over the drinking of alcohol. Four days later, on March 9, the Muslims accused him of insulting the Prophet Muhammad — in Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Sudan and Iran, under blasphemy laws, an allegation punishable by death.

Police quickly arrested Masih, but a massive mob of 3000 Muslims wanted police to hand ‘the blasphemer’ over to them. The mob attacked the Joseph colony, a poor Christian neighborhood, and burned 180 houses. Two churches were vandalized. The Asian Human Rights Commission stated, ‘on March 8, during the Friday prayers it was announced through the mosque loud speaker that Masih committed blasphemy by passing remarks against the last prophet of Islam. The police who were already prepared arrested Masih when a crowed attacked the community. In the ensuing incident they beat Masih’s father seriously. The police asked the community to vacate the area, as there were chances of further attacks, totally ignoring their responsibility to protect members of the religious community. The police left the area thereby providing a perfect opportunity for the attackers to return the next day, March 9.’ In fear of Muslim reprisals, Christians rapidly fled the area, leaving behind homes and households.

Syrian Rebels Pledge Their Allegiance To Religious Freedom And Democracy … No Wait

If by “freedom” and “democracy” you mean Al-Qaeda’s “teach-your-children-to-love-death” al-Zawahiri …

BBC – “The leader of the al-Nusra Front, a jihadist group fighting in Syria, has pledged allegiance to the leader of al-Qaeda, Ayman al-Zawahiri.

Abu Mohammed al-Jawlani said the group’s behaviour in Syria would not change as a result.

Al-Nusra claims to have carried out many suicide bombings and guerrilla attacks against state targets.

On Tuesday, al-Qaeda in Iraq announced a merger with al-Nusra, but Mr Jawlani said he had not been consulted on this.

Al-Nusra has been designated as a terrorist organisation by the US.

Debates among Western leaders over whether to arm Syria’s rebels have often raised the concern of weapons ending up in the hands of groups such as al-Nusra.

‘The sons of al-Nusra Front pledge allegiance to Sheikh Ayman al-Zawahiri,’ Mr Jawlani said in a recording released on Wednesday.

But Mr Jawlani said al-Nusra had not been consulted on the merger with al-Qaeda in Iraq and insisted his group would not change its stance in Syria.

The al-Nusra statement assured Syrians that the ‘good behaviour’ they had experienced from the front on the ground would continue unchanged, the BBC’s Jim Muir reports from neighbouring Lebanon.

Mr Jawlani said that the oath of allegiance to Zawahiri ‘will not change anything in its policies’, our correspondent adds.” Read more.

Al-Qaeda Leader Zawahiri Urges Establishment of Islamic State in Syria to Help Return of Caliphate – “Al-Qaeda chief Ayman al-Zawahiri has urged rebels to fight to establish an Islamic state in Syria, in an online audio message Sunday in which he also warned France against its military intervention in Mali. ‘Let your fight be in the name of Allah and with the aim of establishing Allah’s sharia (law) as the ruling system,’ he said in his first message posted on the Internet since last November. ‘Do all that you can so that your holy war yields a jihadist Islamic state,’ said Zawahiri, adding that such a state would help to re-establish the Islamic ‘caliphate’ system of rule.” Read more.
