By Maayana Miskin, INN – “There is a clear trend of Arab men sexually assaulting Jewish girls and women as a form of anti-Israel terrorism, attorney Roni Sadovnik said Wednesday, speaking to Arutz Sheva.

Israel’s courts prefer to treat such crimes as solely criminal in nature rather than as crimes motivated by nationalist hate, she said. Changing the status of such crimes would give victims a wider array of services and assistance.

Currently, victims of sex crimes perpetrated by Palestinian Authority men are left to handle the trauma without special help from the state, she explained.

Sadovnik noted a particularly extreme case in which four PA resident teenagers grabbed a 13-year-old Jewish girl from the side of a road north of Jerusalem, beat her and raped her. The girl managed to escape after throwing sand in the eyes of one of her attackers.

The four rapists were convicted, but each will serve just two years in prison due to their young age.

Details of the case, including the attackers’ focus on humiliating their victim, show that the attack was motivated by anti-Jewish hate, Sadovnik said. The crime should have been treated as terrorist attacks are, she added.

Another example is the brutal rape last May in the Gan Ha’Ir mall in Tel Aviv, she said. In that attack, a PA resident man who had entered Israel illegally attacked two Jewish youths over the course of four hours, beating the male and beating and raping the female.

Again, the particular focus on humiliation shows that the motive ‘was clearly hatred between the peoples,’ she said.” Read more.

Arab Times – “A Kuwaiti man recently who was beating his wife in broad daylight on the Ahmed Jaber Street in Sharq shouted at the passersby and said ‘Leave me alone, she is my wife I can do what I want with her.’

The citizen then rushed to his vehicle and pulled out a gun and threatened to shoot anyone who tried to intervene between him and his wife and soon after fled the scene. After the wife filed a complaint with the area police the man was arrested and brought to the station. The husband has been detained and necessary action has been taken to refer him to the Public Prosecution.

Meanwhile, a Kuwaiti woman has submitted a medical report to the Andalus Police Station which shows injuries on her body as a result of assault by her husband.

When the police summoned the husband for interrogation, he said he beat his wife because she had left the house without his knowledge and that he suspected her behavior.” Source – Arab Times.

Australia: Gulf St Vincent To Be Tested To Explain Dead Penguins, Fish And Dolphins On Adelaide Beaches

Adelaide Now – “SWIMMERS and fishers have been reassured that they have nothing to fear from the water in Spencer and St Vincent gulfs in the wake of mass fish and dolphin deaths off the state’s coastline.

SA Health told The Advertiser algal blooms, found across the state’s coastline most likely due to March’s prolonged hot weather and heavy winds, did not affect human health in any way.

‘Consumption of fish caught alive do not represent health concerns, however SA Health advises fish caught dead should not be eaten due to concerns over decomposition and spoilage,’ a spokeswoman said yesterday.

The assurance comes as a taskforce of experts starts testing water to help solve the mystery of the thousands of dead fish and 16 dead dolphins.

The Fisheries Department, Environmental Protection Authority and SA Water will lead the taskforce, which will also conduct tests on the fish and some of the dolphins.

Scientific experts from SA Museum conducted autopsies on two dead dolphins yesterday, but said they were still stumped as to how and why such large numbers died in recent weeks.

SA Museum senior researcher of mammals Dr Catherine Kemper said the dolphin samples would be sent to pathology for further analysis. She said preliminary analysis showed one of the dolphins was heavily bruised.

‘It had lots of bruising on it which means for some reason something bumped it or it bumped itself very badly,’ she said.” Read more.

Fukushima Radiation Blamed For Thousands Of Sick Seals Washing Up On California Beaches; Expert: Fukushima Disaster 1,000 Times Worse Than IAEA Estimate

By Daily Mail Reporter – “Radiation from Japan’s nuclear disaster could be the reason why more than a thousand sick sea lion pups have washed up on the beaches of Southern California in the past few months, experts believe.

Earlier this week, The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration declared an ‘unusual mortality event’ after the starving pups washed ashore in record numbers since the start of the year.

The NOAA has assembled a team of biologists, veterinarians and public health officials to try and determine why roughly 1,100 of the frail animals have become stranded and had to enter marine mammal rehabilitation centers up the west coast.

The pups have turned up, sick or dying, on the beaches of Los Angeles, Orange, Santa Barbara, Ventura, and San Diego counties.

The number that have been admitted to rehabilitation facilities has far outpaced historical stranding rates for 2008 to 2012, according to NOAA. Last year, the number that washed up was just 100.

And the number washing ashore likely represents just a fraction of the animals in trouble in the ocean.” Read more.

By Alex Wood, Yorkshire Post – “ENVIRONMENTALISTS have raised concerns for marine life on the East Coast after extreme weather claimed tens of thousands of animals.

The ‘mass mortality’ has been put at an estimated 150,000 velvet swimming crabs, 10,500 edible crabs, 2,000 common lobsters and a staggering 635,000 mussels in just one 10-mile stretch from Barmston to Bridlington along the Holderness Coast – in all around 800,000 individuals.

Cuttlefish bones have been recorded along the length of the East Coast, as well as increased numbers of dead harbour porpoises on Lincolnshire beaches.

The death of hundreds of seabirds, found washed up on beaches from Aberdeenshire to North Yorkshire, has also been blamed on the weather, with over 200 dead or dying puffins recorded on Yorkshire beaches alone between Scarborough and Withernsea.

The RSPB have described it as the worst puffin ‘wreck’ seen for half a century, with around 10 per cent of the puffin population lost at Bempton.

The Natural History Museum Strandings team says over 150 porpoises have washed up along the East Coast this year, with 12 reported on the Lincolnshire coast. Evidence from post-mortem examinations shows a high level of disease and bacterial infection, which is being attributed to the prolonged winter and stormy weather.

Fisherman have been unable to put out to sea because of the strong easterly winds and when they have been able to fish the catches have been low, less than half this time last year, with lobsters still dormant because of the unseasonally low temperatures.

Kirsten Smith, Living Seas Manager for the North Sea Wildlife Trusts, said the loss of so many mature adults who should be producing eggs was a cause for concern: ‘Fishermen are suffering a direct loss of earnings but if anything happens to the habitat or the creatures themselves then you have a knock-in impact for the season after as well.'” Read more.

By Joe Newby, Examiner – “According to a letter written by Ron Trowbridge, undersheriff with the Prowers County, Colo., Sheriff’s Office, Christians who believe the Bible is the literal word of God and others who do not agree with the changes taking place in America could find themselves under scrutiny by law enforcement authorities and Homeland Security, Steven H. Ahle wrote at Red Statements Friday.

Trowbridge, a law enforcement officer with many years of experience, told Ahle that he recently attended a training session in La Junta, Colo., where, he says, Colorado State Patrol Trooper Joe Kluczynski gave a 2-hour presentation on the ‘sovereign citizen’ movement.

‘Kluczynski spent most of his two hours focusing on how, in his view and apparently the view of Homeland Security, people turn to the sovereign citizen movement,’ he wrote.

According to the FBI, the ‘sovereign citizen movement’ is made up of ‘anti-government extremists who believe that even though they physically reside in this country, they are separate or ‘sovereign’ from the United States.’

These people, the FBI says, do not believe they have to answer to any government authority and can cause a number of problems for law enforcement authorities.

But according to Trowbridge’s letter, Kluczynski went much further, including ‘those who believe America was founded on godly principles, Christians who take the Bible literally, and ‘fundamentalists’.’

‘Kluczynski did not explain what he meant by ‘fundamentalists’ but from the context it was clear he was referring again to those who took the Bible literally or ‘too seriously,” he added.

These people, Kluczynski reportedly said, have a right to their beliefs, but needed to be monitored by law enforcement authorities.

Trowbridge said that according to Kluczynski, these individuals and groups are ‘dangerous’ because they are ‘angry over the election of a black president.’

When an attendee suggested the economy was probably more to blame, Kluczynski “intimated that those who are not going along with the changes in America will need to be controlled by law enforcement,’ Trowbridge added.” Read more.

Powerful Earthquake Hits Near Iranian Nuclear City Of Bushehr, Dozens Of Deaths Reported

By Yeganeh Torbati and Marcus George, Yahoo! News – “A powerful earthquake struck close to Iran’s only nuclear power station on Tuesday, killing 32 people and injuring 850 as it destroyed homes and devastated two small villages, Iranian media reported.

The 6.3 magnitude quake totally destroyed one village, a Red Crescent official told the Iranian Students’ News Agency (ISNA), but the nearby Bushehr nuclear plant was undamaged, according to Iranian officials and the Russian company that built it.

Many houses in rural parts of the province are made of mud bricks, which have been known to crumble easily in quake-prone Iran.

‘Based on the most recent figures on the impact of the earthquake, 32 people have been killed and 850 injured,’ said deputy governor of Bushehr province, Shahpour Rostami, Fars news agency reported.

Across the Gulf, offices in Qatar and Bahrain were evacuated after the quake, whose epicenter was 89 km (55 miles) southeast of the port of Bushehr, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The early afternoon shock was also felt in financial hub Dubai.

The Russian company that built the nuclear power station, 18 km (11 miles) south of Bushehr, said the plant was unaffected.

‘Personnel continue to work in the normal regime and radiation levels are fully within the norm,’ Russian state news agency RIA quoted an official at Atomstroyexport as saying.

Iran informed the U.N.’s International Atomic Energy Agency that there was ‘no damage to the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant and no radioactive release from the installation’, an agency statement said, adding that it was not currently seeking additional information.” Read more.

Missouri: Earthquakes On The New Madrid Seismic Zone Rattles Residents’ Nerves

By Kendall Downing, WPSD – “On shaky ground. Two tremors in the New Madrid Seismic Zone this week have people wondering if a big earthquake could be coming.

The two are considered minor. No damage has been reported from either.

Thursday night’s quake struck around 7:27 local time. It was centered about six miles northeast of Caruthersville, Missouri and measured a 2.7 on the Richter Scale. Tuesday night a similar quake hit near Portageville, Missouri.

The U.S. Geological Survey considers the New Madrid Seismic Zone the most active in North America east of the Rockies.

But it’s been about 100 years since a major earthquake hit this area. Still, the two recent quakes are leaving behind some rattled nerves.

The only thing getting shaken Friday in Caruthersville, Missouri is the salad at Grandad’s Deli.

‘It’s a scary thought,’ said Sharon Russell, owner.

Russell said they were busy Thursday night and didn’t notice the tremor.

‘We were kind of rocking in this little place last night, so we didn’t feel it,’ she said.

But now, the week’s two tremors are the talk of the town. Alexis Avis shook with the first.

‘The first one I felt, I was in bed. And I thought I could tell it was an earthquake,’ she said.

Avis said the two so close together put her on alert.” Read more.

Mystery In Michigan: Series Of ‘Loud Booms’ Talk Of The Town In Union City

WWMT – “The calls started to flood into the Branch County 911 Center around midnight. Each one reporting deafening loud booms and everyone believed the boom happened somewhere close.

‘We just heard a really loud bang outside our house and me and my kids are really scared, I don’t know what it is and now we’re afraid to outside,’ says one caller.

‘I didn’t see anything but I heard a big boom…it was like a big boom like someone was kicking in the door,’ says another caller.

It was the talk of the town in Union City Wednesday, everyone with their own theories on what caused it.

‘It sounded like a cannon going off is the only way I can describe it, kind of like a thunder boom but it was only the one time,’ says Michelle Reincke who lives in Union City.

‘I think it’s aliens to tell you the truth, I think it’s aliens coming down to earth see us,’ says Tomika Dow.

And adding to the mystery, this is not the first time. One night last may the booms woke people up in Branch County and were heard all the way to Calhoun and Kalamazoo counties.

‘It’s the same time as last year, we had these loud crashing noises like either an explosion or a sonic boom kind of an earthquake,’ says Cynthia Shattuck.

There were no earthquakes recorded in the area overnight, the National Guard base in Battle Creek says there were no flights there last night.” Source – WWMT.

Convert To Islam Or Die: One 20-Year-Long Nightmare Of A Christian Family In Pakistan

A tragic story in a country increasingly hostage to the Islamists, in which young people prefer Sharia law and the military to the democratic model proposed by the West and branded as ‘corrupt.’ In recent times, threats and pressures against the Zafar family have increased. And the father has been forced to lock one of his daughters indoors for fear she will become a victim of kidnapping, as was the case in 1998 when her older sister was abducted and subjected to torture.

Sadiq Masih Zafar, born in Muridke, a town in the district of Shaikhupur, in the province of Punjab, was appointed to oversee the construction of a church between 1988 and 1989, by the Lahore Church Council that had previously purchased the land. Since then Islamic extremist groups have showered him with threats and injunctions, ordered him to stop building places of worship and convert – with his family members – to Islam.

In 1990, a raid of fanatics led to the demolition of the structure and the confiscation of the land. In the context of the assault, the Islamists also violently attacked Zafar and some relativesHis reporting of the incident to police proved futile, who closed the case without proceeding to any investigation. A similar result, a few months later, when the man filed a complaint against the daily threats of fundamentalists who want him to convert to Islam.

In 1998, Zafar’s daughter, Sarwat Naheed was kidnapped while returning home and subjected to violence and torture that resulted in the breaking of her legs and deep wounds to the head. The girl also had signs of strangulation and was found abandoned and unconscious in a field. A few days later his son Azeem Zafar was stopped by a group of people, who beat him up.

These two incidents prompted the Zafar family to flee to Lahore, in search of a quiet place. However the extremists hunted them down, and discovering their new home, continued to threaten them with death.” Read more.

Nigeria: Suspected Islamists Open Fire On Christians During Sunday Church Service In Maiduguri

By Emmanuel Uzodinma, Daily Post – “Unknown gunmen suspected to be members of Boko Haram sect launched a daring attack on a local Church of the Brethren, popularly known as Ekilisiyar Yan’uwa Nigeria, EYN during a sunday service in Maiduguri, the Bornu state capital.

This will be the first time an attack would be launched on a church in the Maiduguri metropolis in broad daylight during Sunday service since the Boko Haram insurgence in the area reached its crescendo.

According to worshippers, about five gunmen riding in a [a three-wheeled motor vehicle] came to the church area located at Bulunkutu ward in the metropolis at about 11a.m and began shooting sporadically into the church targeting the worshippers as the sermon was being delivered.

The worshippers were taken aback that the gunmen could dare the soldiers in front of the church to launch such an attack.

Spokesman of the Joint Task Force, JTF, Lt Col Sagir Musa who confirmed the incident said the soldiers at the church post immediately repelled the attack.

‘They came firing into the church area but our men at the post rose to the occasion and fired back at them. We successfully repelled the attack and the gunmen fled immediately,’ Lt Col Musa said.

He however revealed that a policeman attached to the JTF was injured at the process. He further confirmed that he has since been treated and discharged.” Source – Daily Post.
