An Attack Against Iran’s Nuclear Facilities with Conventional Weapons Will Only Delay Nuke Program

Any strike against Iran should also involve the targeted destruction of its theocratic leadership …

By Elad Benari – “As the rampant speculations that Israel will soon launch a military strike against Iran’s nuclear facilities continue, a report on NBC on Friday revealed what such an attack may look like.

The report, the main points of which were presented by Israel’s Channel 10 News, is based on conversations the American network held with current and former officials in Israel and the United States. The report suggests that an attack on Iran will combine air and ground faces but will not include naval forces.

The officials interviewed said that the attack will be led by the Israeli artillery, which will use Jericho 2 missiles that have a range of 2,500 kilometers. The report also says the artillery will be assisted by F-15i aircraft and Israeli unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).

The officials also told NBC that the operation will include ground units, but that they will not be involved in the actual attacks, focusing instead on marking targets or collecting intelligence.

The report added that the officials interviewed said that they believe the chances for an Israeli military operation in Iran are higher than 50 percent. They said, however, that they believe such an attack will not succeed in destroying all the nuclear facilities of the Islamic Republic and that the attack’s purpose would be simply to delay the Iranian nuclear program by damaging its most sensitive facilities. In such a case, one official said, Israel is prepared to repeat the attack in a few years.

Another important note made by the NBC report is that all the officials interviewed agreed with recent reports that Israel will not notify the White House a long time in advance of the attack.” Read more.

Gen. Dempsey: U.S. can destroy Iran’s nuclear program – “A military strike by the United States could destroy all of Iran’s nuclear program. I want them to believe that is the case,’ – he said in an interview with CBS television.” Read more.

U.S. Officials: Iran’s nuclear program can only be destroyed if we use tactical nukes – “The United States does not possess conventional armament powerful enough to destroy Iran’s deeply hidden nuclear facilities, U.S. officials told the Wall Street Journal late Friday, with American Defense Secretary Leon Panetta saying Washington was ‘still trying’ to develop more powerful bombs… Pentagon analysts estimated that currently held conventional bombs would not be effective against Iran’s enrichment plant in Fordo, adding that a tactical nuclear would be the only option if Washington sought to destroy the facility. ‘Once things go into the mountain, then really you have to have something that takes the mountain off,’ the official told the Wall Street Journal.” Read more.

Report: United States and Allied Nations Begin Moving Troops, Firepower Into Persian Gulf Region

02/04/2012 Leave a comment

By Madison Ruppert – “According to Azerbaijani Trend News Agency, Interfax has reported via Israeli sources that the United States and allied nations have begun to move troops and other firepower into the Persian Gulf Region.

According to the report, troops have already arrived just south of the Strait of Hormuz at the Omani island of Masirah, where an American Air Force base is located.

This appears to be on top of the 15,000 troops in Kuwait, three carrier strike groups to be in the region, arming of states surrounding Iran, and more, all of which has been heavily documented on End the Lie for some time now.

According to Trend, the Huffington Post has also reported that an American base on the British isle of Diego Garcia, located in the Indian Ocean, now has hundreds of ‘concrete-bomb[s] capable of destroying fortified underground bunkers’ which one assumes is referring to the so-called ‘bunker buster’ bombs or Massive Ordinance Penetrators (MOPs).

If true, this would be interesting given that United States Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta just claimed that the current bombs are not capable of totally destroying Iranian underground facilities.

There are also reports of Saudi Arabia moving parts of their ground forces into the Eastern portion of their nation, which is where the main oil production facilities are located.

This would be in addition to the new and refurbished jets being brought into Saudi Arabia thanks to the United States.” Read more.

Iran launches new military exercises in south – “Iran began ground military exercises Saturday and defiantly warned that it could cut off oil exports to ‘hostile’ European nations as tensions rise over suggestions that military strikes are an increasing possibility if sanctions fail to rein in the Islamic Republic’s nuclear program. Tehran has stepped up its rhetoric as international pressure mounts over allegations that it is seeking to develop atomic weapons, a charge it denies. Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has issued stern warnings against any possible U.S. or Israeli attacks against Tehran’s nuclear facilities. Western forces also have boosted their naval presence in the Gulf led by the American aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln.” Read more.

New York: Mysterious Tourette’s-Like Syndrome Affecting Teens at Local High School Now Infects First Adult

02/04/2012 1 comment

“A 36-year-old nurse practitioner has been diagnosed as the first adult to have the mysterious Tourette-like illness that has spread across a rural New York town.

Marge Fitzsimmons, who works with developmentally disabled patients and has no immediate ties to the town’s high school at the centre of the outbreak, has had to stop going to work because her body tics and twitches have gotten so severe that she can no longer work with her patients.

Details of her condition emerged today as researchers offered a new explanation for the strange symptoms that have been diagnosed in 14 teenage girls and one teenage boy.

Doctors have singled out the possibilty of paediatric acute-onset neuropsychaitric syndrome, or PANS, as a solution.

However, the new addition of an adult to the list of victims is likely to cast doubt on the theory that the outbreak is caused by a condition prevalent in children.

‘It started out with sudden head jerks in the middle of October. The motor tics wouldn’t stop, and the vocal tics started, and I went to one of the bosses and said I have to go,’ Ms Fitzsimmons told NBC News.

‘When it first started I thought maybe I’m going crazy.

‘As an adult, I can’t imagine these teenagers going through this and for anyone to think that they’re faking it at all. Try living a day in their shoes.’

Researchers are now looking into a new explanation – that infections caused by bacteria or viruses can cause also infect the brain, leading to onsets of Tourette’s and obsessive-compulsive disorder.

News of the adult case comes after fifteen teenagers were of the affected who attend Le Roy High School in Genesee County, New York State. Only one boy has been affected, the other 14 sufferers are girls.” Read more.

Middle-East War May Start ‘Within Months’, Iran Warns of ‘Coming Great Event’, Ayatollah Threatens Israel and America

By MARK DUELL and HUGO GYE – “Fears of a global nuclear war breaking out were today stoked after Israel suggested Iran has been developing missiles with an extraordinary range of 6,200 miles – enough to reach the U.S.

An international political storm is now in full force as the U.S. desperately tries to talk Israel out of an attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities amidst fears a strike could now come within just two months.

Israel’s deputy prime minister Moshe Ya’alon said the missiles were being tested at a site near Tehran that was destroyed three months ago and they were ‘aimed at America, not at us’.

Mr Ya’alon said Iran is creating ‘a nightmare for the free world’. Iran, which is accused of preparing to build a nuclear bomb, says it will retaliate over Western-backed oil sanctions and any attack threat.

The U.S. doesn’t believe Iran is producing such a long-range missile, but Defense Secretary Leon Panetta is still reportedly fearful of a growing chance Israel would attack Iran as early as April.” Read more.

It’s possible to strike all Iran’s facilities, and I say that out of my experience as IDF chief of staff.'” Read more.

Former CIA Chief James Woolsey: ‘Begin Military Plans to Thwart Iran Nukes’

02/02/2012 Leave a comment

By OREN KESSLER – “Iran is working to obtain a nuclear weapon, a former CIA chief said Wednesday while visiting Israel, and the US should begin military preparations to block the Islamic Republic from reaching that goal.

‘To believe anything other than that Iran is working to get a nuclear weapon is hopelessly naive,’ James Woolsey said in an interview on the sidelines of the Herzliya Conference.

‘At some point someone is going to have to decide to use force to prevent Iran from getting a nuclear weapon. I’d argue that those who say we can deal adequately with Iran through deterrence are quite naive.

‘National survival is at issue. In the near term that’s the case for Israel, but in the somewhat longer term it is [the case] for the US, which from Iran’s point of view, is the ‘Great Satan,’’ he continued. ‘This is a world-class problem, not an eastern Mediterranean or Persian Gulf problem. The politics of the world will change if this regime gets the bomb.'” Read more.

Cover Your Mouth: Flesh-Eating Bug Spread by Sneezes and Coughs

02/02/2012 Leave a comment

“Coughing and sneezing on crowded trains and buses can spread deadly flesh-eating superbugs, commuters are being warned.

The bacteria are more virulent than the infamous hospital MRSA, can affect otherwise healthy people and are spreading across Britain.

They can be transmitted through skin-to-skin contact and hugging as well as sneezing and coughing.

One strain, called USA300, can lead to blood poisoning or a form of pneumonia that eats away at lung tissue.

The bacteria are usually resistant to several types of antibiotics and can cause large boils on the skin.

Chris Williams, professor of molecular genetics at the University of Birmingham, said: ‘It breaks down tissue. If it gets into your heart, bacteria can get into your bloodstream and take hold of different parts of your body. That could lead to death quite easily.’

The dangers of the ‘community- acquired’ superbugs are raised in a new study, examining the way they spread. Researcher Dr Ruth Massey said USA300 was ‘causing huge problems in America and is being reported here increasingly’.

She added: ‘These community- acquired strains seem to be good at affecting healthy people – they seem to be much better than the hospital ones at causing disease.’

Dr Massey said there were 1,000 cases of so-called PVL-positive community-acquired MRSA in England in the last year, of which 200 were USA300 strains.” Read more.

Egypt: 79 Die in Violent Soccer Riot, Egyptian Member of Parliament Already Blaming America and Israel

02/02/2012 1 comment

Don’t be surprised if the Muslim Brotherhood is inspired by MP Mustafa Bakri and soon echoes similar sentiments. If they think about it too long, they’ll convince themselves that this would have never happened if Jews didn’t exist …

By Mohamed Fadel Fahmy and Ian Lee – “Cairo (For CNN) — Egyptians began three days of mourning Thursday for the 79 people who perished at a violent soccer riot, as the nation’s fledgling parliament erupted in anger over the national tragedy.

The speaker of the parliament ordered an end to a live broadcast of Thursday’s parliament session, so heated was the debate. But the order was retracted after angry lawmakers made their objections known.

A deputy of the Muslim Brotherhood’s Freedom and Justice Party demanded the resignation of the interior minister, holding him responsible for the loss of lives. Another deputy accused security guards of allowing fans to bring weapons into the stadium in Port Said.

A committee will investigate the circumstances that caused the deadly riot Wednesday at the match pitting Cairo’s Al-Ahly team against Al-Masry of Port Said.

It remained unclear whether the riots were ignited by intense sporting rivalry or political strife. Egyptians just marked the one-year anniversary of their revolution that toppled the longtime dictatorship of Hosni Mubarak.

In Cairo’s Tahrir Square, somber protesters, many dressed in popular Al-Ahly club attire, decried Egypt’s Supreme Council of the Armed Forces even though Field Marshall Mohamed Tantawi had tried to allay their fears.

‘This period, I assure you, will be peaceful. Egypt will be stable again,’ Tantawi said in a statement released to Egyptian media. ‘The military council is executing a road map to transfer the authority to an elected civilian entity. … Whoever has any plot against Egypt will not succeed.'” Read more.

Shiite Iran Takes Aim at Israel Through Sunni Muslim Brotherhood Alliance

Revelation 17:13, “These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast.”

By Chana Ya’ar – “Iran is maintaining close contact with the Muslim Brotherhood and wants diplomatic relations in Egypt, Iran’s foreign minister says.

‘Tehran is in constant contact with the Muslim Brotherhood’ and will send an ambassador to Cairo if Egypt agrees, Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi told the Egyptian daily Al-Masry Al-Youm.

An Iranian-Egyptian alliance would give Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad a strategic ally on Israel’s southern border along with Hamas in Gaza and Hizbullah in Lebanon.

Salehi said Iran is ready to promote its diplomatic relations with Egypt to the ambassadorial level, particularly in light of the Muslim Brotherhood’s recent ascendancy to power. The group’s party, the Freedom and Justice Party, controls 43 percent of parliamentary seats.

Some countries ‘are not happy about improving relations between Egypt and Iran,’ he said but insisted that it would be beneficial if there were cooperation between Egypt, Iran, Turkey and Saudi Arabia.” Read more.

IDF Military Intelligence: Iran Has Stockpile of Enough Enriched Uranium for Four Nuclear Bombs

02/02/2012 Leave a comment

By YAAKOV KATZ – “Iran has created a stockpile of enriched uranium that could be used to manufacture four nuclear weapons, head of the IDF’s Military Intelligence Maj.-Gen. Aviv Kochavi said on Thursday.

Speaking at the Herzliya Conference, Kochavi said that once Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei made the decision to go to the so-called “breakout stage” and begin enriching uranium to military-grade levels, it would take the Iranians a year to make a crude device and another year or two to manufacture a nuclear warhead that can be installed on a ballistic missile.

Iran, he said, has obtained 4 tons of uranium enriched to 3.5 percent and another 100 kilograms enriched to 20%.

‘Iran’s motivations are: to create hegemony in the region; deterrence; and to become an international player,’ Kochavi said. ‘They claim that they are developing the program for peaceful purposes but our intelligence shows without a doubt that Iran is continuing its work on developing a nuclear weapon.'” Read more.

Middle East War on the Horizon? Iran Likely to Target Arabs Over Oil Embargo

02/01/2012 Leave a comment

“A proxy war between Sunni and Shia Muslims, which could dramatically further destabilize the Middle East, may be about to erupt, sources are reporting. It would pit Iran, Syria’s regime and Hezbollah on one side and Turkey, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, other Arab states and Syrian rebel forces on the other may, according to a report by Ryan Mauro in Joseph Farah’s G2 Bulletin.

The individual indicators are cumulative:

Just about a week ago, the European Union agreed to an embargo on Iranian oil after Saudi Arabia promised to increase production to make up the difference. Iran immediately threatened that Arab countries assisting with the embargo would be ‘held responsible’ and ‘one cannot predict the consequences.’

There have been reports Saudi Arabia and Qatar have agreed to help buy weapons for the Free Syrian Army, the rebel forces fighting to overthrow Syrian President Bashar Assad. The Free Syria Army is headquartered in Turkey. Assad is a close ally of Iran and Hezbollah and both are accused of secretly helping his security forces to crush the uprising against his rule.

In mid-January, the emir of Qatar called for an Arab military force to enter Syria to end the violence. The Arab League also has submitted a resolution to the U.N. that would condemn the Syrian government for its crackdown.

Then on Jan. 27, Saudi Arabia officially recognized the Syrian National Council, a body of opposition figures, as the representative of the country.

But Iran and Hezbollah have made saving the Syrian government a top priority.” Read more.

Genie’s Out of the Bottle: Djinns Blamed for ‘Fires’ Erupting at House in Saudi Arabia

02/01/2012 Leave a comment

“Two Saudi brothers who were scared out of their home and moved to another house because of repeated mystery fires were shocked to find that fires had not stopped at the old house. A week after they settled down in the new house, a big blaze erupted and damaged a large part of it.

The two were then convinced that Jinn (ghosts) were behind the blazes and their theory was supported by the police and a Moslem scholar who said he himself witnessed the fire at the house in the southern town of Bisha.

But that was not the opinion of the Saudi civil defence, who believe all the fires were an act of arson.

Quoted by the Saudi Arabic language daily Okaz, the two brothers, Fahd and Bandar Al Gamdi, said they were forced to move to another house nearly three km away from the old house because of persistent fires.

‘But fires did not stop at the old house and they then spread to the new house, forcing my brother to move to another house,’ Fahd said.

Sheikh Mohammed Al Omari, a well known scholar in that town, said he was called by the two brothers to read Koran and ‘evict the jinn out of the house.’

‘As I started to read in one room, a fire erupted but was put out by the civil defence units who were there at that time,’ he said.

‘I then moved to another room and started reading Koran when a fire flared…fire erupted in every room I moved to and then I felt the Jinn movements…I was not scared and kept reading Koran.’

The paper quoted police spokesman Major Abdullah Al Shaathan as saying investigation showed there was no act of arson as no one could sneak into that house, adding that forensic experts found no electric or building faults.

‘These fires are abnormal or in other words are supernatural…we are still working on the final report which includes statements by neighbours.'” Read more.
