Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood Doesn’t Want a Female or Non-Muslim President

‘Freedom and Justice’.  But only if you’re not a Christian, or a woman …

By Paul Marshall – “The respected Egyptian newpaper Al Masry Al Youm is reporting that, despite prevarications and previous hints to the contrary, a senior figure in the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood says that its new political party will maintain the position that neither a woman nor a Christian can be president of Egypt.

It reports that Saad al-Husseini, a member of the Brotherhood’s Guidance Bureau, its highest executive body, stated that while the ‘Freedom and Justice’ party’s new platform must still be approved by the Guidance Office and its Shura Council, it will adhere to the Ikhwan’s position on the presidency, which has been that a woman cannot hold final power over a man, nor a non-Muslim over a Muslim. Husseini added the confusing caveat that this ‘does not mean we impose this opinion on the people, who have inherent jurisdiction in this regard.’ This seems to mean that Egyptians may vote to have such a president, but that if the Brotherhood itself has the votes, it will not allow it.

The same paper also reports that the Brotherhood wants only small changes to the constitution and is pushing for a ‘yes’ vote in the March 19 referendum on proposed constitutional amendments, ones that still preserve a strong presidency. It is also describing the revolution begun on January 25 as an ‘Islamic revolution,’ saying: ‘The revolution’s slogans, such as ‘freedom,’ ‘social justice’ and ‘equality’ — all of these can be found in Islamic Law.'” Source – National Review Online.

Radiation Levels Soar, Panicked Residents Start to Flee Tokyo After Latest Nuclear Plant Blast

  • Radiation leaking directly into the air from stricken Fukushima nuclear plant
  • Power station has now suffered three reactor explosions and one fire
  • Radiation levels up to ten times higher than normal in Tokyo
  • Experts warn of cancer risk
  • Stock markets in chaos as Nikkei plummets 10.5% in one day

Terrified residents began to flee Tokyo today as a nuclear power plant destroyed by the tsunami threatened to send a cloud of radioactive dust across Japan.

The Fukushima Dai-ichi plant suffered a third reactor explosion overnight and another reactor on the site caught fire.

Radiation levels are soaring across the country this afternoon as radioactive material is spewed directly into the atmosphere – while emergency crews fight to avoid a catastrophic meltdown.

Levels of radiation were 10 times normal in the capital today and continue to climb, as experts warned that Japanese could face an increased cancer risk even if the situation does not deteriorate.

The situation is worse for 140,000 people who live within an 18-mile exclusion zone around the plant. They were today ordered to stay indoors or be exposed to a dangerous level of radiation.  Read more.

Spent Nuke Fuel Pool May Be Boiling, Further Radiation Leak Feared

“A nuclear crisis at the quake-hit Fukushima No. 1 nuclear plant deepened Tuesday as fresh explosions occurred at the site and its operator said water in a pool storing spent nuclear fuel rods may be boiling, an ominous sign for the release of high-level radioactive materials from the fuel.

Tokyo Electric Power Co. said the water level in the pool storing the spent fuel rods at its Fukushima No. 1 nuclear plant’s No. 4 reactor may have dropped, exposing the rods.

The firm said it has not yet confirmed the current water level or water temperature in the pool and will try to pour water into the facility from Wednesday through holes that were created following an explosion earlier Tuesday in the walls of the building that houses the reactor.

Unless the spent fuel rods are cooled down, they could be damaged and emit radioactive substances. The government’s Nuclear and Industrial Safety Agency urged TEPCO to inject water into the pool soon to prevent heating of the fuel rods.

TEPCO said Tuesday night that its workers were unable to remain in the central control room at the Fukushima No. 1 plant due to high radiation levels and retreated to a remote site to monitor data on the reactors.”  Read more.

“Something fishy’s going on in west suburban Glen Ellyn.

Hundreds of dead fish surfaced in a small subdivision pond called Maryknoll just east of I-355, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Neighbors first noticed the floating fish carcasses a few days ago in the pond that links to several other ponds in Glen Ellyn and Lisle by a stream.

No one knows why the fish are dying, but residents say the smell is awful.

This is the second time in as many months bizarre fish deaths were reported in the Chicago area.”  Read more.

Fukushima Nuclear Reactor No. 3 Using Controversial, and Dangerous, MOX Fuel

As many who have been following developments in Japan are now well aware, reactor No. 3’s housing at the Fukushima nuclear power plant in Japan exploded on March 14, 2011 following the massive 9.0 earthquake off Japan’s east coast.  What many may not have been aware of, however, is the fact that, according to an August 2010 announcement by Shikoku Electric Power Co. Inc., reactor No. 3 was filled with a controversial fuel called MOX (Mixed OXide) — a mixture of plutonium and uranium oxides — and was to begin producing electricity about one month following the announcement: Read more…

Nuke Engineer: Fuel Rod Fire at Fukushima Reactor “Would Be Like Chernobyl on Steroids”

“The Fukushima reactor building that exploded March 12 is one of a series of identical General Electric reactors constructed in Japan and the US. In this reactor design, the used nuclear fuel rods are stored in pools of water at the top of the reactor building. These “spent” rods are still highly radioactive: the radioactivity is so great the rods must be stored in water so they do not combust. The explosion at Fukushima Daiichi reactor unit 1 apparently destroyed at least one wall and the roof of the building: some reports stated the roof had collapsed into the building.

Two days later, the nearby building containing the plutonium-uranium (MOX) fueled Fuksuhima Daichii reactor unit 3 exploded. So why bother about the rubble of reactor No 1? The WaPo quotes a nuclear engineer who knows the answer:” Read more.

Rep. Keith Ellison ‘Sanitizes’ Radical Verses of the Koran in Bill Maher Interview

“Matthew Shaffer of NRO (as noted here by Ethel Fenig) exposed Keith Ellison’s mendacious taqiyya (Koran-sanctioned Islamic dissimulation) theater during the Congressman’s testimony at Thursday’s Homeland Security Hearings on American Muslim radicalization.

The next day, during a 3/11/11 interview with Bill Maher (on ‘Real Time With Bill Maher’), responding to Maher’s complaint that, ‘[Islam] comes from a hate-filled holy book, the Koran, which is taken very literally by its people,’ Ellison invoked a deceitfully redacted extract of Koran 5:32, and the ostensible Koranic paean to ‘tolerance,’ verse 2:256.

Ellison’s disingenuous response was predictable.

Following the murderous acts of jihad terrorism committed on September 11, 2001, Ibn Warraq highlighted the tragic irony of many apologists quoting selectively from Koran 5:32, ‘whoso slays a soul …shall be as if he had slain mankind altogether; and whoso gives life to a soul, shall be as if he has given life to mankind altogether’, attempting to demonstrate that the Koran disapproved of violence and killing. Here is the entire verse (5:32), quoted in full context, with the intimately related verse, Koran 5:33…” Read more.

Natural Disasters, Palestinian Barbarism

“It is all happening and far more quickly than even I had anticipated; and yet, the events are so surreal that they seem to be happening in slow motion, as if we are dreaming or in a really bad movie.

That is because we view it all—but are helpless before it.

The natural disasters: an earthquake which may have killed more than 10,000 people in Japan and an unintended Japanese nuclear meltdown are fully matched by the moral and man-made disasters in Libya and in Itamar, the West Bank town in which Palestinians slaughtered five members of the same Israeli family. In addition to the 35 and 36 year old parents, Udi and Ruth, the child victims were thee months old Hadas, 4 years old Elad, and 11 years old Yoav.

Palestinians were seen giving out candy to celebrate this Cowardly Kill. The President of the Palestinian Authority, Mahmoud Abbas, refused to condemn this cowardly attack…

Palestinian terrorists are Baby Killers par excellent. From the beginning of the Second Intifada in 2000, they have killed at least 123 Israeli children—on purpose, not accidentally. They have shot up teenagers while studying, have tried to kill children in nursery schools and child care centers. Palestinian terrorists have even killed children at Itamar. In 2002, Habash Hanani did so, and he is currently being glorified by the Palestinian Authority…”  Read more.

Pakistani Christian Villagers Come Under ‘Wrath’ of Local Muslims and Police

ANS – “Pakistani Christian residents of Hakim colony in Chak [village] 48-NB, Sargodha, Pakistan, are claiming that they have been experiencing the ‘wrath’ of local Muslims and police, following a complaint from an influential Muslim landlord that he had been robbed of a large amount of money.

Sources have since alleged to ANS that several Christian youths have been arrested and tortured by the police to try and extract confessions from them about the robbery they say they had nothing to do with.

Khalid Masih, a driver who lives in this colony, told ANS in a face-to-face interview, that the case began on Saturday, February 12, 2011, at about 1800 hours (Pakistani Time), when some unidentified dacoits [armed robbers] looted and absconded with the equilavent of about $20,218.84 USD in Pakistani Rupees from the home of a local Muslim landlord.

After the robbery, Masih said, the landlord then registered a complaint at the local Cantonment Police Station in Sargodha under section 392 [armed robbery] of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC), against the ‘unknown robbers.’

Masih then claimed that the Muslim investigating officer and his close aid started ‘arresting and harassing’ some of the Christian villagers of the Hakim Colony.

Three Christian youths, identified as Saleem Masih, son of Taj Masih, Saleem Masih, son of George Masih, and Mohsin Masih, son of Younas Masih, were then arrested and ‘beaten on their buttocks in an vicious manner’ with clubs, a long piece of ‘tire’ and ‘remained shackled’ for several days in the this police station, he said.

I personally saw their wounds that they told me they had sustained due the chains that police tortured them with to try and get them to confess to this crime that they claimed they had not committed.”  Read more.

A new poll conducted by the National Association of Evangelicals reveals that a majority of its members would agree that the recent earthquakes in Haiti, New Zealand and Japan are signs of the soon coming return of Jesus.

The survey shows that more than half of respondents adhere to the theological position known as Premillennialism, which interprets the Book of Revelation to be speaking of yet future events. In contrast, only 17 percent of those polled say they believe most biblical prophecy has already been fulfilled. Read more…

Christians in Iran Sentenced for “Crimes Against The Islamic Order”

Luke 21:12-13, “… they will lay their hands on you and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues and prisons. You will be brought before kings and rulers for My name’s sake.  But it will turn out for you as an occasion for testimony.”

“IRAN (ANS) — Five Iranian Christians were sentenced on March 8 to one year’s imprisonment for ‘Crimes against the Islamic Order.’

Christian Solidarity Worldwide (CSW) http://www.csw.org.uk says Pastor Behrouz Sadegh-Khandjani, Mehdi Furutan, Mohammad Beliad, Parviz Khalaj and Nazly Beliad, all members of the Church of Iran, a Jesus-Only Pentecostal denomination, were found guilty by the Revolutionary Court in Shiraz. They have 20 days to appeal the sentence.

CSW reports the five men were arrested last June, but released on February 13 after posting high bail payments. They had spent nearly eight months in prison in Shiraz on charges of apostasy, political meetings, blasphemy and crimes against the Islamic Order. However, four of the charges were dropped during the trial.

A source close to the defendants revealed that in the period between his arrest and late November 2010, 33-year old Pastor Sadegh-Khanjani was held in solitary confinement and given access to his attorney only once.

CSW said: ‘His health suffered due to extremely unhygienic conditions and the infliction of deliberate harm.'” Read more.
