Muslims Attack Christian Village in Pakistan After Christians Accused of ‘Blasphemy’ and ‘Desecrating the Koran’
By Jibran Khan – “Gurjarnwala (AsiaNews) – Hundreds of Muslims attacked the Christian village of Khokarki this morning a few miles from the city of Gujranwala (Punjab), forcing its inhabitants to flee. According to AsiaNews sources, anonymous for security reasons, the attack took place following a dispute between Christian Mushtag gill and some local Muslims, who had accused the man and his son of blasphemy.
Mushtaq, 60, and his son, are accused of having desecrated the Koran. The police arrested them yesterday, after complaints of some Muslims who claim to have found torn pages of the Qu’ran in a bag hidden near the home of two Christians.” Read more.
Christian Beheaded by Islamists, More Face a Menacing Upsurge in Attacks Across the World
“Recent incidents of brutal anti-Christian violence and persecution suggest that vulnerable believers are facing a menacing upsurge in such attacks across the world.
For example, in Afghanistan the Muslim Taliban have beheaded an Afghan Christian, Abdul Latif, in Herat Province. A video of the murder sent to Barnabas Aid shows one of the killers saying:
All praise be to our creator almighty god that he helped and blessed the holy warriors … so that we can implement the commandment of god on this infidel … so that he is punished according to his wrong deed, he is punished according to the commandment of god so that it is a warning to other infidels.
They shout ‘Allahu Akbar’ (‘god is great’) over and over again during the beheading, and they bring an execution notice to hang on the wall.” Read more.
Muslim Group in Malaysia Declares Jihad Against Christians Who … Disagree With Them
By Asrul Hadi Abdullah Sani – “KUALA LUMPUR, April 15 — An umbrella coalition of Muslim groups held a protest today and declared bloodshed against ‘extremist’ Christians that insult and ridicule the position of Islam in the country.
The Muslim Organisations in Defence of Islam (Pembela), comprising 20 groups, protested after Friday prayers at the National Mosque against Putrajaya’s release of Malay-language bibles and Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s promise to never impound the Alkitab again.
A group of 30 men dressed in white shirts and skullcaps gathered at the main entrance of the mosque after prayers with placards saying ‘Allah is great! We Ansarullah (helpers of Allah) are watching you!'” Read more.
Christian Missionaries in Turkey Become Targets for Militant ‘Nationalists’
‘Turkish nationalists’ see Islam as a ‘unifying force of the country’, yet some try to claim that their attacks against Christians have ‘nothing to do with Islam.’ Yet every single ‘Turkish nationalist’ is Muslim. Are the deniers really that ignorant? Or is this yet again another blatant example of taqiyya?

Thomas Seibert – “ISTANBUL // When a Protestant minister in the city of Izmir left his church one day this month, he saw a man pointing a weapon at him and shouting: ‘Stop proselytizing! You will pay!’
The attacker in front of the Dirilis Kilisesi, or Church of the Resurrection, was quickly overwhelmed, but the incident on the evening of April 1 was a reminder of the hatred that some radical Turkish nationalists feel for Christian missionaries. Radical nationalists in Turkey are not opposed to Christian missionaries for religious reasons, Ferhat Kentel, a sociologist at Istanbul’s Bilgi University, said about the hatred against missionaries.
‘It is an effort by nationalists to create enemies, a perception of threat,’ Dr Kentel said. ‘It has nothing to do with Islam. It is an ideological phenomenon.’ He said the fear of missionaries was ‘a symbol for dangers coming from outside’. Turkish nationalists see Islam as a unifying force of the country that will be undermined if Christians are allowed to proselytize.” Read more.
Christian Girls Forced to Convert to Islam; Rapes, Coersion, Abuse
By Agenzia Fides – “LAHORE, Pakistan (Agenzia Fides) – In Pakistan forced conversions to Islam, rapes and forced marriages are on the rise. The victims are mostly Hindu and Christian girls, belonging to religious minorities, complain Fides local sources. This has been a worrying phenomenon for the Church in Pakistan for some time and that the Church is trying to address, looking for the cooperation of institutions but it is an uphill battle.
‘The Christian girls are the weakest and most vulnerable, because their communities are poor, defenceless and marginalized, therefore easily exposed to harassment and threats. Often they do not even have the courage to denounce the violence,’ says a sister to Fides.” Read more.
Christians Begin to Flee Egypt
By Ryan Jones – “A growing number of Egypt’s 8-10 million Coptic Christians are looking for a way to get out as Islamists increasingly take advantage of the nationalist revolution that toppled long-standing dictator Hosni Mubarak in February.
Egypt Daily News reported on Tuesday that ‘lawyers who specialize in working with Coptic Egyptians…say that in the past few weeks they have received hundreds of calls from Copts wanting to leave Egypt.’
‘They are insisting on leaving Egypt because the risks of staying here are too great,’ Naguib Gabriel, a Coptic human rights lawyer, told Egypt Daily News. ‘Many Christians are afraid of the future because of the fanatics in the mosques.'” Read more.
1,000 Militants Attack Non-Muslim Villages in Nigeria
“… Meanwhile in Bauchi, where serious electoral fraud was uncovered in run up to the vote, attacks by armed Fulani men on non-Muslim areas have continued. On Thursday 7 April at least ten people were killed in Bar Arewa village in Bogoro LGA when it was stormed at midnight by up to 1,000 men armed with guns and machetes. Almost every home in the village was destroyed and some elderly people were reported to have been burnt to death in their homes.
During the previous week around five people died in similar attacks on the villages of Yola and Goska Bong in Bogoro LGA. Attackers are thought to be part of a group of around 2,000 militants from Niger, Katsina, Kano, Sokoto and other northern states that have been attacking non-Muslim villages since 10 April. In a comment to a Nigerian newspaper a survivor of one of the attack said ‘They wanted to prevent us from voting in the elections, so they burnt houses so our voter cards would be burnt.'” Read more.
Destroying One Koran vs. Destroying Many Christians
By Raymond Ibrahim – “The now infamous Koran burning by Florida pastor Terry Jones has created hysteria in the Muslim world. In Afghanistan alone, some twenty people, including U.N. workers, have been killed and beheaded to screams of ‘Allahu Akbar!’ Western leaders around the globe—including Obama and members of Congress—have unequivocally condemned Jones’ actions (without bothering to point out that freedom of expression is a prized American liberty). Many are even blaming the deaths in Afghanistan directly on Jones; Bill O’Reilley says he has ‘blood on his hands.’
Yet, as Western leaders rush to profess their abhorrence at what one American did to one inanimate book, let’s take a quick look at what many Muslims are doing to many living and breathing Christians around the Islamic world—to virtually no media coverage or Western condemnation:” Read more.
Pakistan: Christian Man Goes Into Hiding After Told by Islamists to ‘Convert or Die’
“‘Convert or die’. Masih Gill, a Christian from the city of Mardan, in the province of ‘Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’ (Northern Pakistan), was threatened with these words by a group of Muslims with whom he had been speaking, after the recent episode of the burning of the Koran in the US.
This event caused violent reactions in Pakistan (three churches attacked in a week) by Muslim extremists. Nearly one dozen UN guards were killed on April 1, while two were beheaded. Local sources say that Masih Gill simply defended his faith, saying that Christians respect all religions and do not nurture hostility towards anyone. The Muslims then threatened Gill. They also said that they would charge him before Pakistani authorities with blasphemy.” Read more.
Exit Visa: Iraqi Christians Look for Safe Haven
By Ruth Moon – “The governments of the Netherlands, Great Britain, and other European countries have refused asylum to many Iraqis, including thousands of individual Christians. But this year, evangelical leaders and human rights groups are pushing to resettle Christian refugees in groups to help them maintain their church identity.
The stream of Christian refugees from Iraq and surrounding countries has increased in recent years, though exact numbers do not exist because refugees are not counted by religious affiliation, said Grégor Puppinck, director of the European Center for Law and Justice, the European arm of the American Center for Law and Justice.” Read more.
State Dep’t and U.N. Silent About Latest Anti-Christian Violence in Ethiopia
By Lambert Mbom – “While the Obama administration cited human rights atrocities in Libya as part of the reason for U.S. and U.N. military intervention there, neither the State Department nor the United Nations have apparently condemned an outbreak of violence in western Ethiopia, led by Muslim radicals. Since early March two Christians have reportedly been killed, more than 3,000 displaced and at least 69 churches destroyed.
Also, leading human rights organizations including Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch and Human Rights First appear not to have publicly condemned the attacks.” Read more.
There’s A New Holocaust Taking Place, But This Time It’s Against Christians
By Alan Caruba – “The Holocaust of the last century is remembered for the mass murder of Europe’s Jewish population, an estimated six million who perished. In total, an estimated eleven to seventeen million Europeans, Jews and Christians, died in the Nazi concentration and death camps or were murdered outright in their homelands.
Records were lost or didn’t list religion, but the lesser known story of the Holocaust was the death of millions of Christians, three million of whom were Poles, predominantly Catholics, killed by the Nazis for being Poles. They have a special place in Jewish history because many Poles, risking immediate execution if caught, were among the “righteous Gentiles” who were rescuers of Jews.
I cite this because there is a new Holocaust abroad in the world and it is directed at Christians, particularly in the Middle East and throughout Africa, wherever Islam is the dominant religion. Nor is this is a new phenomenon; Christians were widely persecuted under the Ottomans (Turks) when their empire encompassed much of the Middle East
It is clearly manifesting itself again and to far too little notice.” Read more.
