After publication of his book titled “The Losing Battle With Islam” in 2005, British author and historian David Selbourne was asked by John Kerry to write a briefing paper on the Islamist threat. In the article below he explains what he told the Secretary of State and lays out a deluge of present-day disasters, all of which have been spurred by the violent jihadist teachings of Islam’s “prophet” Mohammed. Though the examples he gives are many, they are but a drop in the ocean of Islam’s 1400-year reign of terror.

dominateworld2cBy David Selbourne, New Statesman – “A beheading in Woolwich, a suicide bomb in Beijing, a blown-up marathon in Boston, a shooting in the head of a young Pakistani girl seeking education, a destroyed shopping mall in Nairobi – and so it continues, in the name of Islam, from south London to Timbuktu. It is time to take stock, especially on the left, since these things are part of the world’s daily round.

Leave aside the parrot-cry of ‘Islamophobia’ for a moment. I will return to it. Leave aside, too, the pretences that it is all beyond comprehension. ‘Progressives’ might ask instead: what do Kabul, Karachi, Kashmir, Kunming and a Kansas airport have in common? Is it that they all begin with ‘K’? Yes. But all of them have been sites of recent Islamist or, in the case of Kansas, of wannabe-Islamist, attacks; at Wichita Airport planned by a Muslim convert ready to blow himself up, and others, ‘in support of al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula’. ‘We cannot stop lone wolves,’ a British counterterrorism expert told us after Woolwich. Are they ‘lone’? Of course not.

A gas facility in southern Algeria, a hospital in Yemen, an Egyptian police convoy in the Sinai – it’s complex all right – a New Year’s party in the southern Philippines, a railway station in the Caucasus, a bus terminal in Nigeria’s capital, and on and on, have all been hit by jihadis, with hostages taken, suicide belts detonated, cars and trucks exploded, and bodies blown to bits. And Flight MH370? Perhaps. In other places – in Red Square and Times Square, in Jakarta and New Delhi, in Amman and who-knows-where in Britain – attacks have been thwarted. But in 2013 some 18 countries got it in the neck (so to speak) from Islam’s holy warriors.

There are battlefields and battlefields in this conflict. Some are theatres of actual or potential civil war, most often when Sunnis and Shias are at each other’s throats on behalf, respectively, of Saudi Arabia and Iran. Other battlefields are in failed or failing Muslim states, others again where the ‘infidel’ has unwisely intruded upon and assaulted Muslim lands. At the same time, weapons and warriors are in constant movement in Islam’s cause across dis­solving national boundaries, many of them of western colonialism’s creation. And in India, with its 175 million Muslims, their mujahedin will be in action soon enough if Hindu nationalists come to power this month.

Jihadist groups, from Pakistan to the Philippines, also fight each other. But for the most part they are consolidating and expanding – often as affiliates of al-Qaeda – in the Arabian Peninsula, in the Maghreb, in Somalia and Kenya, in Iraq and Syria, in Gaza, in Bangladesh and in south-east Asia. There are separatist or secessionist Islamic insurgencies, too, from Russia’s Caucasus to north-west China, in southern Thailand, in Burma, in northern Nigeria and in divided Kashmir.

Warriors for Islam, believing that they are under ‘infidel’ threat, today range an increasingly frontier-less world. That’s ‘globalisation’ too. A car-bombing in New York – which failed – was planned by a Pakistani-American trained in a tribal area of northern Waziristan. Many would-be warriors from western countries learned their skills from Taliban instructors, going on to fight in Iraq as they now fight in Syria. There, ubiquitous “Bearers of the Sword” and “Defenders of the Faith” from Britain and France, Saudi Arabia and Morocco, Indonesia and Kazakhstan, and even Uighurs from Chinese Xinjiang, are to be found armed to the teeth in the battle against Assad while being trained for future combat in their countries of origin.

In the Islamist merry-go-round, jihadis from Libya – after the country’s collapse – went on to Syria, Tunisian holy warriors crossed into Mali, Egyptian and Canadian Muslim fighters were among the attackers on the refinery in Algeria, and Somalis from Minnesota have returned home to join al-Shabab, the al-Qaeda affiliate that carried out the Kenyan mall attack. Ugandan Islamists are in eastern Congo, and a Malaysian army captain was linked to two of the 9/11 hijackers. Beat this? No.

It is not ‘Islamophobia’ that registers these facts. Instead, there is an objective historical need, and duty, to record radical Islam’s many-sided and determined advance upon the ‘infidel’ world.” Read more.

By Michelle Faul, Associated Press – “Islamic militants killed hundreds of people in an attack on a border town in Nigeria’s remote northeast, a state government official said Thursday.

Shops and homes were set ablaze and razed in the attack Monday night on Gamboru Ngala, on Nigeria’s border with Cameroon, Borno state information commissioner Mohammed Bulama told The Associated Press by telephone.

He said the fatality ‘figures are high — hundreds — but we are still awaiting details from the military authorities.’

As many as 300 people were killed in the attack, according to local newspapers. The militants sprayed gunfire into the crowds of people at a busy market that is open at night when temperatures cool in the semi-desert region, reported ThisDay newspaper.

Nigerian federal Senator Ahmed Zannah said the attack lasted about 12 hours, according to the newspaper. The insurgents set homes on fire and gunned down residents who tried to escape from the flames, reported the paper.

“They Started Shouting ‘Allahu Akbar,’ And We Knew”: Nigerian Islamists Kidnap More Girls, Between Ages Of 12 And 15

For purposes that are anything but peaceful. The leader of Boko Haram is now claiming that “Allah” has commanded him to sell all of the abducted girls into sex slavery. Wretched beasts like these make my blood boil …

‘Nigeria militants kidnap more girls from village,’ Telegraph, May 6, 2014 (thanks to Kenneth):

Suspected Boko Haram gunmen have kidnapped eight girls aged between 12 and 15 from a village near one of their strongholds in northeast Nigeria.

“They were many, and all of them carried guns,” said Lazarus Musa, a resident of Warabe, where the attack happened.

“They came in two vehicles painted in army colour. They started shooting in our village.”

A police source said the girls were taken away in the early hours of Tuesday on trucks, along with looted livestock and food. The Islamist rebels are still holding 276 girls they abducted from a secondary school on April 14.

Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau said in a video released on Monday that Allah had told him to sell the girls taken by his fighters from a secondary school in the village of Chibok, in northeastern Borno state.

The abduction on Tuesday appears to bear similarities to the mass-kidnapping on Good Friday.

In the Chibok attack, as with the Warabe seizure, the militants arrived disguised as soldiers.

“Don’t worry, we’re soldiers,” one 16-year-old girl told AP she remembered them saying. “Nothing is going to happen to you.”

The gunmen commanded the hundreds of students at the Chibok Government Girls Secondary School to gather outside. The men went into a storeroom and removed all the food. Then they set fire to the room.

“They started shouting, ‘Allahu Akhbar,’ (God is great),” the 16-year-old student said. “And we knew.”

A local government official, Bana Lawal, received a warning call on his mobile phone, and was told that about 200 heavily armed militants in 20 pickup trucks and more than 30 motorcycles were headed toward his town.

He roused sleeping residents and told them to flee into the bush and the nearby hills.

But two hours later, when the Boko Haram militants arrived, the local forces were unable to fight them off and the extremists headed for the boarding school.

The men set the school ablaze and herded the girl’s group onto the backs of three pickup trucks.

The trucks drove through three villages, but then the car of fighters following them broke down. That’s when the 16-year-old girl and her friend jumped out, and managed to escape by running into the forest.

Britain and the US has offered help in finding the girls, but the Nigerian government has been criticised by the pace of rescue efforts.

It was not clear whether the eight girls taken on Tuesday were being held with the other 276.

Christians Crucified To Death In Syria For Refusing To Convert To Islam And Worship “Allah”

They said they would crucify Christians who refused to worship “Allah.” And they have. They said they would behead Christians who refused to worship “Allah.” And they have. When they say they will “spread the Sharia of Allah on the face of the earth” and will “kill anyone who comes in our way” they will seek to do that, too …

Revelation 13:15, “The second beast was given power to give breath to the image of the first beast, so that the image could speak and cause all who refused to worship the image to be killed.”

Zechariah 5:3a, 8a, ”… This is the curse [אָלָה – “alah“] that goes out over the face of the whole earth … This is Wickedness …”

By Raymond Ibrahim, FrontPage Mag – “To the awe of its readership, a recent Daily Mail article reports that the ‘jihadist Islamic State of Iraq and Levant [ISIL],’ which is currently entrenched in Raqqa, Syria, ‘publicly crucified two Syrian rebels in northeastern Syria in revenge for a grenade attack on members of their group.’

While the Daily Mail is to be commended for exposing these barbaric acts — along with posting photos of the crucified — it nonetheless minimized their significance, in two important ways: 1) by repeatedly saying things like ‘even al-Qaeda is distancing itself from ISIL,’ and so implying that the act of crucifixion is some wild aberration that even the poster-child of jihadi terror, al-Qaeda, wants nothing to do with it; and 2) ignoring the much ‘sexier’ story that Christians in Syria are also being crucified simply for refusing to embrace Islam (as opposed to the rather mundane but politically more correct story of Islamic jihadis crucifying each other in the context of vendetta killings).

Consider the atrocities earlier committed in Ma‘loula, Syria, an ancient Christian village where the inhabitants still spoke Aramaic, the language of Christ.

According to recent Arabic news media, ‘a Syrian nun testified to the Vatican news agency that some Christians in Ma‘loula were crucified for refusing to convert to Islam or pay jizya’ (tribute subjugated Christians are required to pay to their Islamic conquerors in order to exist as Christians, per Koran 9:29).

Incidentally, they were crucified by the al-Qaeda linked Nasra Front (so much for Daily Mail’s portrayal of al-Qaeda ‘distancing’ itself from the apparently ‘extra-extremist’ ISIL for crucifying its victims).

Sister Raghad, the former head of the Patriarchate School in Damascus who currently resides in France, told Vatican Radio how she personally witnessed jihadi rebels terrorize Ma‘loula, including by pressuring Christians to proclaim the shehada — Islam’s credo that there is no god but Allah and Muhammad is his messenger — which, when uttered before Muslim witnesses transforms the speaker into a Muslim, with the death penalty for apostasy should the convert later ‘renege’ by returning to Christianity.

According to the nun, those Christians who refused to embrace Islam were

killed in atrocious and violent ways that cannot be described. If you want examples, they crucified two youths in Ma‘loula for refusing to proclaim Islam’s credo, saying to them: “Perhaps you want to die like your teacher [Christ] whom you believe in? You have two choices: either proclaim the shehada or else be crucified. One of them was crucified before his father, whom they also killed.”

In fact, according to earlier media reports from October 2013, soon after Ma‘loula fell to the jihadis, one ‘shaky voiced’ elderly Christian man had reported that he …” Read more.

400,000 In Danger Of Human Rights Violations As Sharia Law Infects A New Corner Of The World

Get your skis shined up, grab a stick of juicy fruit. Articles like this sometimes make me wonder if the “he” of Daniel 7:25 can also be rightly understood as an “it” in a non-anthropomorphic sense as translated in Young’s Literal Translation, similar to how the Beast of Revelation 13:11-18 is translated as a “he” in some texts, but as an “it” in some others. Though it may not burn as many calories as the Giant Slalom, it’s certainly something good to chew on …

What about the 20% of the population who are non-Muslim, including Christians and Buddhists?

An Islamic Religious Council official said that they ‘can continue to practice their own religions’ and are protected under the law, as ‘there is no compulsion in Islam.’ (Sorry, but if this were true, there would be no need for Rescue Christians.)

But the International Council of Jurists is wary of this statement – nothing in the new law speaks about a different treatment of non-Muslims. In addition, the current situation in countries like Pakistan, Syria, and Nigeria is cause for concern regarding the ultimate fate of anyone, regardless of religion, in a Muslim-dominated country.

Why Does The US State Department Turn A Blind Eye To Countries Persecuting Christians?

Take a look at who’s in the White House and you’ll know why. When the US President goes out of his way to covertly recruit Muslims as US diplomats and even appoints a pro-terror Islamist to represent America at a UN Human Rights Conference, the question already answers itself …

By Brian Pellot, Charisma News – “Secretary of State John Kerry should cite 16 countries for severe violations of religious freedom, the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom recommended Wednesday in its 15th annual report.

The State Department’s ‘Countries of Particular Concern’ list has remained static since 2006, when eight countries — Burma, China, Eritrea, Iran, North Korea, Saudi Arabia, Sudan and Uzbekistan — were designated as CPCs.

USCIRF, an independent watchdog panel created by Congress to review international religious freedom conditions, criticized the government’s unchanged list of CPCs and sanctions against them, claiming such measures have ‘provided little incentive for CPC-designated governments to reduce or halt egregious violations of religious freedom.’

‘The past 10 years have seen a worsening of the already-poor religious freedom environment in Pakistan, a continued dearth of religious freedom in Turkmenistan, backsliding in Vietnam, rising violations in Egypt before and after the Arab Spring, and Syria’s descent into a sectarian civil war with all sides perpetrating egregious religious freedom violations. Yet no new countries have been added to the State Department’s CPC list,’ the report states.

USCIRF recommended that the CPC list be expanded to include these countries along with Iraq, Nigeria and Tajikistan. USCIRF’s 2013 report made similar recommendations, with the noteworthy addition this year of Syria.” Read more.

Nigeria: Islamists Abduct 300+ Teenage Girls In Recent Weeks, Names Released Are 90% Christian

Associated Press – “The number of kidnapped schoolgirls missing in Nigeria has risen to 276, up by more than 30 from a previous estimate, police said, adding that the actual number abducted by Islamic extremists on April 14 was more than 300.

Police Commissioner Tanko Lawan said the number of girls and young women who have escaped also has risen, to 53.

He told a news conference Thursday night in Maiduguri, the northeastern capital of Borno state, that the figures keep increasing because students from other schools were brought into one school for final exams last month after all schools in Borno state were shut because of attacks by Islamic extremists. Communications are difficult with the military often cutting cellphone service under a state of emergency and travel made dangerous on roads frequently attacked by the militants.

‘The students were drawn from schools in Izge, Lassa, Ashigashiya and Warabe A. and that is why, after the unfortunate incident, there were various numbers flying around as to the actual number of girls that were taken away,’ Lawan said.

Hundreds of women protested in at least three cities this week to express their outrage that the girls have not been found.

Two bombings in three weeks have also hit the nation’s capital, Abuja.

Reports this week indicated some have been forced into ‘marriage’ with their extremist abductors, who paid a nominal bride price equivalent to $12. Other reports that also could not be verified said some have been taken across borders, to Chad, Cameroon and to an island in Lake Chad. The reports come from parents and legislators who are in touch with villagers who have seen the girls with their abductors.

As the students, aged between 15 and 18, endure a third week of captivity President Goodluck Jonathan referred to them publicly for the first time at a May Day rally on Thursday.” Read more.

This is still the position of all the schools of Islamic jurisprudence, both Sunni and Shi’ite. Sheikh Yusuf al-Qaradawi, the most renowned and prominent Muslim cleric in the world, has stated: ‘The Muslim jurists are unanimous that apostates must be punished, yet they differ as to determining the kind of punishment to be inflicted upon them. The majority of them, including the four main schools of jurisprudence (Hanafi, Maliki, Shafi`i, and Hanbali) as well as the other four schools of jurisprudence (the four Shiite schools of Az-Zaidiyyah, Al-Ithna-`ashriyyah, Al-Ja`fariyyah, and Az-Zaheriyyah) agree that apostates must be executed.’ There is only disagreement over whether the law applies only to men, or to women also – some authorities hold that apostate women should not be killed, but only imprisoned in their houses until death. This father clearly believes that a female apostate should be killed.

‘A Number of Christian Converts Arrested at Easter Service,’ Mohabat News, April 28, 2014 (thanks to The Religion of Peace):

Iranian security authorities raided an Easter service in a house-church in southern Tehran, on Friday, April 18, arresting those in attendance.

According to Mohabat News, Human Rights news sources in Iran reported that five of those arrested in the raid are identified as Ehsan Sadeghi, Nazi and Maryam Asadi, Vahid Safi, and Amin Mazloomi.

These reports indicate that plain-clothes security authorities raided Ms. Asadi’s house, where a house-church service was being held. The Authorities were armed and carrying walkie-talkies. They terrified those in the house-church and began searching the house. They eventually transferred all in attendance to an unknown location using two white vans.

Neighbors of Ms. Asadi said that the security authorities were very disrespectful to those in the house-church as well as to the neighbors. They also went on the roof top of the apartment building and broke satellite dishes belonging to other residents of the building.

There are no details available regarding these detainees’ whereabouts currently and efforts of their families to find out about their situation have not been effective.

A large group of Iranian Christians with Islamic backgrounds have been arrested and sentenced to lengthy prison terms in recent years. Numerous Farsi-speaking official Churches have been closed down and banned from any religious activities as well.

Last month, Ahmad Shaheed, UN Special Rapporteur on Iran, released an extensive report on Human Rights violations in Iran. In that report he had warned that Human Rights and basic freedoms of Iranian citizens are widely violated on a regular basis.

Mr. Shaheed also expresses serious concerns over the persecution of Christians who have converted from Islam along with Baha’is, Dervishes and Sunni Muslims.

The European Parliament released a resolution on Iran criticizing the country for discriminating on the basis of ethnicity, gender and religion, including against Baha’is and Christians.

Sudan: Christian Woman Enslaved For 19 Years By Muslims Is Finally Free

By Mark Ellis, GR – “She was kidnapped in South Sudan before she was even a teenager and forced by her Muslim captor to the North. Subjected to beatings, forced genital mutilation, and commanded to ‘pray like a Muslim,’ she found liberation after 19 painful years.

‘I was captured in 1994 in Gok Machar.  I was still young, not yet a teenager.  Six of us were captured.  Three of us refused to go to the North.  They were killed.  My hands were tied to a horse to pull me along.  We walked all day without rest, and we weren’t treated when we were sick,’ Ayul Aguer told those who worked for her release at Christian Solidarity International (CSI).

 After they arrived at their destination, her new master – a man named Mohammad Jamos, sold two of the remaining three victims, so only Ayul remained as his servant.

‘He did not treat me well,’ she recounts.  ‘He beat me all the time, as m

uch as ten times a day.  He forced me to work, grinding grain, fetching water, cooking, and washing clothes,’ according to her interview with CSI.

One day Mohammad sent her to the market for provisions, but a tragic incident happened. ‘Some Arab boys raped me on the way, and knifed my finger, upper arm and upper thigh.’

Ayul followed Jesus Christ at the time of her capture and attended church, but her captor forbade any outward expression of her faith.

‘Mohammed forced me to pray like a Muslim.  He threatened to kill me if I talked about church.  Once I told him I was going to go to church anyway.  He tied me up outside and left me in the sun all day.  He ordered me to look at the sun.  I couldn’t see for some days after that.  I still get dizzy sometimes,’ she recounts.

Mohammed also forced her to undergo female genital mutilation/cutting (FGC), sometimes referred to as female circumcision.  It is estimated that between 100 million and 140 million girls and women worldwide have received FGC, according to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. There are more than 3 million girls at risk of having FGC each year.

‘I didn’t want it; it’s not from my culture,’ Ayul says.

A short time later, Ayul was given to another slave, Deng, to be his wife. ‘We had three children, and gave them Arab names.  If I had given them Dinka names, I would have lost my life,’ she says.

Ayul is from the Dinka people group, the largest ethnic tribe in South Sudan, which makes up about 18% of the population.

Ayul was separated from her three children when she was liberated in September, 2013 and returned to her home in South Sudan. ‘I need my children back,’ she says. ‘I also need Deng.  He’s the only one I know.’ Deng also belongs to the Dinka people.

Egyptian Christians: No Money, No Job, Our Businesses Are Destroyed And We Are “Expecting Death Any Time”

By George Thomas, CBN News – “On August 20, 2013 in the small village of Delga, four hours south of Cairo, Egypt, thousands of radical Muslims went on a rampage.

‘We were at work when we heard Muslims were burning churches,’ Boutrous, a Christian living in Delga at the time, said. Boutrous’s real name was not given for security purposes.

‘Leaders in the mosques were telling Muslims to attack Christians and kill them,’ he said.

Boutrous and his father Iskander, both Christians, were in their family barber shop when a mob of Muslims attacked them.

‘They broke into the shop, took everything and burned the place down,’ Boutrous said…

Boutrous managed to escape, but his father wasn’t so fortunate.

‘They caught my father and shot him multiple times. Then they dragged his body to the mosque,’ Boutrous said.

That afternoon, someone with a cell phone recorded a video of Boutrous’ father’s body, riddled with bullets, being dragged through the streets.

‘When they reached the mosque they tied his body to a tractor and dragged him through the village again.’

The mob continued to mutilate his father’s body while chanting ‘Allahu Akbar,’ Arabic for ‘god is great.’ [ICA Edit: This is a common mistranslation in the West. The actual meaning of “Allahu Akbar” is “Allah is Greater”].

He was buried hours later in a nearby cemetery.

‘The next day some people dug up his body and dragged it through the village again. They did this three times that day,’ Boutrous said.

Boutrous and his family have since escaped from Delga.

‘We have no money, no clothes, no job, our home is destroyed, and our business is destroyed,’ he said…

Delga is part of the Minya province, center of the worst violence against Christians in seven centuries.

Anba Macarius is head bishop of Minya’s Coptic Church.

‘Three hundred homes, 100 businesses, 15 churches and about 10 Christian organizations were destroyed in my province,’ he said from his parish in Minya Province, home to the largest number of Christians in Egypt.

Macarius said the killing and arson attacks happened because Christians supported the removal of former Islamist President Mohammed Morsi and his Muslim Brotherhood government.

Since then, more than 100 churches and hundreds of homes and businesses have been destroyed. The government says it will try to rebuild all the places of worship.

But the big question remains: What about those who have lost everything, their livelihood and their homes?

‘Christians in Egypt are expecting death at any time,’ Macarius said.” Read more.

Sudan: Pregnant Christian Woman Accused Of Apostasy And Threatened With Death … Because Her Father Was Muslim

According to Islam, if the father is a Muslim then so are all of his children. And, according to Islam, if a child later changes their Islamic religion they must be killed. Death for “unrepentant apostasy” is a command directly from the “prophet” of Islam himself. But let’s take this twisted thinking one step further. According to Islam, it isn’t just the children of Muslim fathers who are considered Muslim. Rather, every baby born — regardless of the faith of the birth parents — is born as a Muslim. The logical implications of such thinking is not lost in the minds of Islamists. If, according to Islam, every baby is born as a Muslim, then all non-Muslims — meaning you and I — are now in a state of “apostasy” for rejecting Islam and guilty of yet another “crime” that is punishable by death, according to the Sharia ..

Hadith, Sahih Muslim, Book 033, Number 6426, “The Prophet Muhammad said, ‘No babe is born but upon Fitra (as a Muslim). It is his parents who make him a Jew or a Christian or a Polytheist.’”

Hadith, Bukhari 9.84.57, “Muhammad said, ‘Whoever changed his Islamic religion, then kill him.’”

Meriam Yahia Ibrahim, 27, is married to a South Sudanese Christian, which is forbidden for Muslims in Sudan. According to Islamic law, if a Muslim woman marries a non-Muslim, their marriage is illegal: she is considered to be an adulteress and her children are illegitimate.

And should Ibrahim be convicted of both apostasy and adultery, her whipping and execution will be administered right after giving birth to her second child. Until her trial, Ibrahim has been denied bail, medical care for her and her unborn child and has received no assistance from the U.S. Embassy despite the fact her husband is a U.S. citizen.

‘Meriam needs treatment every month to keep the unborn baby still in the mother’s womb, but no medical help has been allowed,’ said her husband, Daniel Wani. ‘They are denying my wife her rights to fair treatment and my rights to visit and see my son.’

Wani’s 20-month-old son, Martin, is in prison with Ibrahim since Sudanese authorities have prohibited the boy’s Christian father from caring for him. Wani said Ibrahim has been emotionally abused during her incarceration because Islamic scholars have been trying to get her to return to the religion of her Muslim father, but she has refused the ‘offer’.

In the mean time, Justice Center Sudan is trying to defend Ibrahim based on her constitutional rights to freedom of religion, but the Sudanese constitution also accepts Islamic law as a source of legislation. Further, since the secession of South Sudan in 2011, Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir has vowed to make Sudan even more Islamist by laws that demand the death penalty for apostasy.” Read more.

Again: Islamists In Nigeria Attack Christian Churches And Homes, ‘Many People Lost Their Lives’

By Ugochukwu Onyeocha, Daily Times – “Gunmen suspected to be members of the Islamic insurgents, Boko Haram, killed no fewer than eight people in a gun attack in Kubla Village of Madagali Local Government Area of Adamawa State, where they set places of worship and residential houses ablaze during their raid.

Some residents of the affected village, who fled the area, said they were attacked by gunmen suspected to be Boko Haram members in the early hours of Tuesday.

‘They used explosives during the attack on the churches and many people lost their lives,’ villagers recounted, as one of the residents, who identified himself as Heldia Apogu said.

‘I cannot actually say how many people were kill but I saw about six dead bodies being evacuated.’

Another resident claimed that some houses were also attacked by the gunmen who took some men as hostages.

‘I saw some people crying, saying their relations had been taken away as hostages by the gunmen,’ the resident, who craved anonymity, said.

Efforts to get military and police authorities comment on the incident did not yield result at the time of filling this report but the Chairman of Madagali LG, James Abawu Watharda, said eight people lost their lives during the attack.

Watharda said soldiers have sealed up the area and were hunting for the fleeing attackers, adding that ‘eight people were killed and two churches, and some houses, were set ablaze by the attackers, while all the villagers have fled.’

Madagali Local Government is bordering Gwoza Local Government of Borno State, which has experienced series of insurgent attacks since the declaration of the state of emergency.” Source – Daily Times.
