Well, that didn’t take long. In mere hours after taking Damascus, “moderate” Islamist fighters from Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) are already showing their true ISIS and Al Qaeda colors by declaring support for Hamas in Gaza and vowing to soon take Jerusalem.
According to some foreign policy experts, Turkey’s Erdogan gains to benefit and is about to get his ‘Leader of the Muslim World’ moment. But with Hezbollah a shell of what it was and Hamas relegated to little more than a band of demoralized guerilla fighters, Shia Iran has become the biggest loser in the region next to Bashar al-Assad in the aftermath of recent events. Their “Axis of Resistance” is in tatters, and they know it. So when it looks like Plan A is no longer a viable option, we can be certain that Shia Iran is already hard at work on a Plan B. According to the prophets Isaiah and Jeremiah, a time is coming when the city of Damascus will face Divine judgment from the God of Israel. That judgment has not yet seen its fulfillment, but with Damascus now under the control of an Islamist army that is largely comprised of remnants from ISIS, Al Qaeda et al who have vowed to wipe out Jews and Christians, the reason for its impending destruction is coming into focus.
Damascus is not far from Israel. Trying to get as close as it can to its prey, a leopard can conceal itself and its intent before striking, but a leopard can never change its spots. The terrorists who have taken Damascus may rebrand their name and use Western buzz words like “freedom” and “peace” and “justice” in order to dissuade any attacks from the West, but an Islamist beast under a different name is still an Islamist beast. What the fall of Damascus entails for Israel and any remaining Christian communities in Syria for the immediate future, well, that remains to be seen. If history is any indication, however, it will not be long before these comouflaged animals begin to show their true colors …

Israel National News – “The rebel forces in Syria announced on Sunday morning morning that ‘the free Syrian people have toppled the regime of Bashar Al-Assad.’
Earlier, the rebels had reached ‘beyond enemy lines’ in the Syrian capital, Damascus, and had begun searching for President Bashar Al-Assad.
The rebels stated that they had freed prisoners from the Saydnaya military prison on the outskirts of the Syrian. Two sources from the rebel forces told Reuters that there appeared to be no Syrian army deployment in the city. Al Jazeera reported that officers and security officials withdrew from the Ministry of Defense headquarters in Damascus.
Meanwhile, two senior Syrian officers told Reuters that President Bashar al-Assad had left Damascus for an unknown destination. According to reports in Syria, Assad’s plane took off from the country shortly after the rebels took over the capital, but the plane later disappeared from radar and at this point it is unclear what happened to it.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, an opposition organization based in London, told the AFP news agency that the Syrian army and security forces had withdrawn from Damascus International Airport following the rebels’ advance toward the capital.
Syrian Prime Minister Mohammad Razi Al-Jalali made a special statement following the toppling of the Assad regime in which he said that his government is ready to cooperate with any leadership chosen by the Syrian people.” Read more.

The prime minister was among the first to call the American president-elect following his victory in yesterday’s presidential election. The conversation lasted about 20 minutes.
The PMO stated that their conversation was warm and cordial. Netanyahu congratulated President-Elect Trump on his election victory. The two agreed to work together for Israel’s security and also discussed the Iranian threat.

Rumors Of War: Unusual Earthquake Just Detected In Iran Suggests Possible Nuke Test Ahead Of Israeli Retaliatory Strike
Iran recently warned that any Israeli retaliation following the largest ballistic missile barrage in history against the Jewish state would result in an “unconventional response” from the Islamic Republic. Was this just grandiose rhetoric from an emotionally unhinged Ayatollah still reeling from recent losses? Or should Iran’s threats be taken more seriously? Either way, a cornered beast is a dangerous beast. If a time were to ever come when it was possible for all flesh to be extinguished from the face of the earth, that time is here. Fortunately, we know that it will not be permitted to get that far. And we also know that those who seek the “unconventional” destruction of Israel will themselves suffer an “unconventional” destruction of their own. The Daily Guardian – “On the night of October 5, Iran experienced a 4.5 magnitude earthquake in the city of Aradan, Semnan province. Strangely, a mild earthquake was also recorded in Israel shortly after, raising eyebrows. The tremors were felt in Tehran, about 110 kilometers from the epicenter.
The proximity of the earthquake to a nuclear power plant in Iran has led to speculation on social media that it could have been an underground nuclear test. The epicenter was located at a shallow depth of just 10 kilometers, adding to the suspicion that this might not be a natural earthquake.

The Times of Israel – “Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei delivered a rare Friday sermon defending this week’s missile attack on Israel that deepened fears of a regional war, while praising the ‘logical and legal’ Hamas-led October 7 invasion and massacre in southern Israel that sparked the war in Gaza and fueled violence throughout the Middle East.
Speaking in front of tens of thousands at a mosque in the capital Tehran, Khamenei said Iran-backed armed groups in the Middle East ‘will not back down’ even after Israel recently killed a spate of terrorist leaders.

By Agence France Presse via Barron’s – “Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Tuesday condemned Israel’s ground operation in Lebanon and urged the United Nations and other international organisations to stop Israel without ‘wasting any more time’.
‘Whatever it does, Israel will be stopped sooner or later,’ Erdogan told the Turkish parliament at the opening of the legislative year.
‘All state and international organisations, especially the UN, must stop Israel without wasting any more time,’ he said.
The Israeli army said that it launched a ground offensive in Lebanon and that its forces engaged in clashes Tuesday, escalating the conflict after a week of intense air strikes that killed hundreds.
Erdogan said ‘the terror and genocide’ Israel had carried out in Gaza had reached Lebanon and warned if not stopped, the Israeli leadership would set its sights on Turkey.

There’s A New Holocaust Taking Place, But This Time It’s Against Christians
By Alan Caruba – “The Holocaust of the last century is remembered for the mass murder of Europe’s Jewish population, an estimated six million who perished. In total, an estimated eleven to seventeen million Europeans, Jews and Christians, died in the Nazi concentration and death camps or were murdered outright in their homelands.
Records were lost or didn’t list religion, but the lesser known story of the Holocaust was the death of millions of Christians, three million of whom were Poles, predominantly Catholics, killed by the Nazis for being Poles. They have a special place in Jewish history because many Poles, risking immediate execution if caught, were among the “righteous Gentiles” who were rescuers of Jews.
I cite this because there is a new Holocaust abroad in the world and it is directed at Christians, particularly in the Middle East and throughout Africa, wherever Islam is the dominant religion. Nor is this is a new phenomenon; Christians were widely persecuted under the Ottomans (Turks) when their empire encompassed much of the Middle East
