Palestinian Statehood: Conquest Disguised as Liberation

08/14/2011 Leave a comment

By Dean Malik – “First they invaded; five Arab armies, from Jordan, Syria, Egypt, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, and Iraq all descended. Israel was a state newly formed of a small core of native Sabras from the first five Aliyas along with the battered survivors of the Holocaust and a small cadre of American and British WWII veteran volunteers. After two years of desperate fighting and a cumulative loss to Israel of over one and a half percent of its population, the conflicted ended in a stalemate, with Israel holding a swath of land measuring 9 miles in width at its narrowest, and 71 miles at its broadest, extending 263 miles from the Lebanon border in the north through the Negev Desert in the south.

Three more wars followed in 1956, 1967 and 1973, then an airline hijacking campaign, multiple hostage seizures, civilian bus and car ambushes in the 1970s and 1980s, dozens of suicide bombings in the 1980s and 1990s, and a barrage of over eight thousand short and medium range rockets right up to the present.

This September, what the Arab world could not win in war, and would not accept in peace, it will ask the United Nations to give to it through a non-binding resolution, proving in a surreal twist on Von Clauswitz, that politics is in fact the continuation of war by other means.” Read more.

Expert: Large European Cities Overwhelmed by Muslim Population

08/14/2011 Leave a comment

“Muslim population in many big European cities already exceeds 20%, according to Alex Alexiev, an expert in international security and radical Islam and visiting fellow at the Hudson Institute, Washington, D.C.

In his words, however, what is especially worrying is that these Muslims are getting radicalized.

The expert reckons that almost all Western European countries are marked by a high degree of radicalization.

‘Unlike our Muslims from the Balkan Peninsula, they are much more prone to radicalization because the religious organs in Western Europe, the Muslim religious organs, are controlled and commanded by radical Islamists, subsidized/financed by Saudi Arabia and other places, and preach the ideologies of the Muslim Brotherhood and etc’, Alexiev explains in an interview fir the Focus news agency.

According to him, it seems to escape public notice that almost all Muslims in Western Europe are people residing in big cities.

‘Muslims in rural areas and small towns are hard to find. If we take the city of Marseille as an example, the Muslim population there exceeds 30%, the share of the young generation below 20 years of age is already above 50%, meaning that Marseille is on its way to become an exclusively Muslim city. The same applies to Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Malmö, and Antwerp’, the expert says.” Read more.

Egypt: Muslim Brotherhood Challenges Military Rulers

08/14/2011 Leave a comment

The once banned Muslim Brotherhood — the group from which Osama bin Laden and Ayman al-Zawahiri began as activists — understands full well that the only waste that can never be recycled is wasted time as well as the first and, perhaps, only opportunity in over 80 years to advance the Islamist agenda upon the people of Egypt, if not the region …

“CAIRO (AP) — Egypt’s largest political group, the Muslim Brotherhood, warned the country’s military rulers Saturday not to interfere in the writing of a new constitution.

The statement from the Brotherhood marks the first time the Islamist group has directly challenged Egypt’s ruling military council since the ouster of former President Hosni Mubarak in February.

The group’s stand was prompted by comments from a senior government official this week that the military council will soon set out certain principles outlining who is eligible to draft a new constitution. The Brotherhood also fears the military is trying to enshrine a political role for itself in the constitution.

The drawing up of a new constitution is a topic of intense debate in Egypt.

Parliamentary elections are slated for later this year, and the Brotherhood and its fellow Islamists are expected to do well at the polls. That would likely give them a dominant voice in appointing the committee that will draft a new constitution.

Liberals fear that an Islamist-dominated committee will produce a document that serves only the Islamists’ agenda.” Read more.

Russia: We May Be ‘Forced to Ultimately Take Some Decisions on Syria’, Warns Assad to Prepare for ‘Sad Fate’

08/13/2011 Leave a comment

“Bashar Assad, the president of Syria, has been warned by Russia to prepare for ‘a sad fate’ if he fails to enact reform.

The warning from Russian President Dmitry Medvedev came as the United States accused the Syrian regime of killing more than 2,000 people in the five-month uprising.

In his toughest comments on Syria to date, Medvedev said that time was running out for Assad to halt a crackdown against his people, hinting that the Kremlin, a traditional ally, may support tough action against Damascus in the United Nations if the bloodshed continues. ‘People are dying there [in Syria] in large numbers, and that is causing us huge concern,’ said Medvedev. ‘Assad needs to urgently launch reforms, make peace with the opposition, restore civil order and create a modern state. If he cannot do that, a sad fate awaits him, and we will also be forced to ultimately take some decisions on Syria.'” Read more.

Japan: Decrease in White Blood Cells, Headaches, Nausea in Sendai City Hospital; Hair From Patients ‘Comes Off in a Clump’

08/13/2011 2 comments

Where is the mainstream media?  The Japanese are eating radioactive vegetableseggs, rice, beef, and who knows what else, not to mention what they’re drinking. Biologists are now saying that this disaster is much worse than they had thought, and TEPCO admits that this is going to continue for at least another decade. Expect to hear more and more about patients in Japan getting sick and dying.  And, eventually, not just in Japan either …

“Tweets from a nurse (my very good guess from her tweets) in a large hospital in Sendai City, Miyagi Prefecture on August 10:

Increasing number of patients with unexplainable decrease in white blood cells, headache, nausea. They are diagnosed for existing illness and undergo treatment, but they don’t respond to the treatment at all. I’ve seen those cases in my hospital. I’m not saying they are all because of the radiation exposure, but I’m telling you what I’m seeing.

When we wash their hair, it comes off in a clump. It is really scary. The doctor says, ‘I really wonder why the white blood cell count is down…’ Doctor, don’t be so relaxed about it. There is going to be more and more people who don’t respond to treatment.

She suspects internal radiation from hospital meals, which the in-patients have no choice but eat.” Read more.

Intelligence Officials: Al Qaeda Operatives in Yemen ‘Planning Deadly Ricin Attack’ on US

08/13/2011 Leave a comment

“Intelligence officials have warned Barack Obama that a dangerous regional arm of Al Qaeda is trying to produce the deadly poison ricin to use in attacks against the United States.

Al Qaeda’s affiliate in Yemen is believed to have been trying to acquire large quantities of castor beans, which contain the toxic rich protein.

It is thought the poison would be packed around small explosives which could disperse the white powdery substance on detonation.

It is so deadly that even a speck of it can kill someone if inhaled or taken into the blood stream.

The poison was used in the 1978 assassination in London of Bulgarian dissident Georgi Markov and, in 2002, police raided a facility said to be plotting its manufacture in the UK capital.

Al Qaeda intend on detonating the explosives in enclosed areas like shopping centres and airports.” Read more.

UK: Dead Baby Seal Pups Washing Ashore on Beaches in Northumberland

“ABOUT ten seal pups have been found dead on Northumberland beaches, but officials say there is no cause for alarm.

Concerned Hadston resident Janette Govia said she has noticed an unusually high number of dead baby seals as she walks her dog along the beach at Druridge Bay and Hadston Carrs.

And she fears something is going wrong for the marine life.

‘In the last few weeks I have observed a number of very young baby seals, all dead, about ten in all,’ she said.

‘I have lived here for seven years and have never seen so many. Of course, you see the odd seal washed up, but to see so many seems strange to me.'” Read more.

China: Thousands Riot in Southwest China Smashing and Burning Vehicles After Police Injure Female Cyclist

08/13/2011 Leave a comment

“Thousands of rioters took to the streets in southwestern China, with some smashing and burning vehicles, after a city official injured a female cyclist, state news agency Xinhua reported on Friday.

The riots broke out late Thursday in Guizhou province and carried on all night, with 10 police officers wounded in the violence, the report said.

Rioters also blocked the city’s main roads using trucks, the state-run China National Radio reported on its website.

Xinhua said the riots were set off when ‘chengguan’ officials, responsible for low-level policing on China’s streets, injured a female cyclist while trying to confiscate her bicycle for illegal parking.

Chengguan officials, widely disliked in China and often accused of using excessive force against civilians, have been behind an increasing number of riots in recent years.” Read more.

Oklahoma: Hundreds Of Dead Birds Found Outside Walmart in Broken Arrow

08/12/2011 Leave a comment

“BROKEN ARROW, Oklahoma — A News On 6 viewer became concerned Wednesday after shopping at a Broken Arrow Walmart Neighborhood Market when she said she saw hundreds of dead birds strewn across the parking lot.

‘I was grossed out at first, I was just like, wow,’ Amber Ross said.

Ross was shopping with her 6-month-old daughter at the 91st and Elm location. The stench hit her first.

‘It almost smelled like sewage,’ she said. ‘I had my daughter with me and I thought maybe it was her, at first, but it wasn’t.’

Ross’s giggle quickly ended when she started looking around.

‘I walked over towards Walmart and starting at the front of their door right there, walking all the ways toward the car, there’s just rows of dead birds,’ she said.

Ross shot video as she retraced her steps.

‘There were about 60-70 around each tree base, plus the ones starting up at the front of the store and going back along the sidewalk, so there were about 300 birds total,’ she said.” Read more.

New Zealand: Airborne Kiwifruit Disease Spreads Beyond Contamination Zone

08/12/2011 Leave a comment

By Tony Field – “The kiwifruit vine-killing disease PSA has spread beyond the initial contamination zone.

Pseudomonas syringae pv. Actinidiae has been found in 19 more properties in Te Puke and has spread to two vineyards in the previously-unaffected Tauranga region.

It has put more urgency on the research that is underway to combat the disease.

The scientists at Plant and Food Research are part of an international effort to develop new varieties of kiwifruit that are more resistant to PSA but that will take years, so for now they have more immediate goals.

Doctor Bruce Campbell says they are trying to buy time for the industry.

‘[What] we are doing right now is testing products that can be applied in orchards this coming season to slow the spread of the disease.’

170 orchards now have the more serious PSA strand of the disease.

John Burke of Kiwifruit Vine Health says the disease is airborne and is spread through weather events.

‘We have had weather over the summer period, and late autumn, that is not conducive to holding the disease.'” Read more.
