Rapid Rise In Anti-Semitic Statements From High Ranking Public Figures In Egypt Worries ADL

ADL.org – “The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) today expressed deepening concern over the anti-Semitic rhetoric coming from the highest echelons of Egyptian society.

In a nationally broadcast Friday sermon attended by Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi and other high ranking government officials at the Al-Tanaeem Mosque in Mersa Matruh, Imam Fatouh Abdul Nabi, who is the head of the Islamic Endowment in Matruh Governorate, called on God to ‘deal harshly with the Jews and those who are allied with them.’

At the conclusion of the sermon, which primarily focused on how Muslims should use their conscience to control their actions, Imam Abdul Nabi said, ‘Our God, grant us victory over the infidels… Our God, deal harshly with the Jews and those who are allied with them… Our God, our God, deal harshly with the Jews and those who are allied with them… Our God, frighten their masses… Our God, disperse their union… Our God, show us your strength over them, your greatness over them… Our God, reveal to us your wrath over them, you are the Lord of creatures.’

During this part of the sermon, President Morsi was shown on television mouthing ‘amen.’

‘The drumbeat of anti-Semitism in the ‘new’ Egypt is growing louder and reverberating further under President Morsi and we are increasingly concerned about the continuing expressions of hatred for Jews and Israel in Egyptian society and President Morsi’s silence in the face of most of these public expressions of hate,’ said Abraham H. Foxman, ADL National Director. ‘The United States and other governments with influence on the Egyptian leadership should publicly urge President Morsi to speak out against this disturbing manifestation of hatred toward Jews.’

Earlier this week, ADL wrote to President Morsi urging him to reject statements made by the supreme authority of the Muslim Brotherhood, Mohammed Badie, who called for violence against Jews and Israel.” Source – ADL.

I would like to bring a little trivia to you. I ran across this snipet in an article about Netanyahu. I didn’t think to much at first but the more I thought about it, is it a clue? Given all the false claims and war drums beating against Israel I found this very Interesting. The prophets Jeramiah, Hosea, and Micah were prophets during King Hezekiah. And I’m sure everyone knows the prayer that Hezekiah prayed. Well like I said I would like your opinion, it might just be a little interesting trivia, but either way I’d like your opinion. Here it is:.
“In my office in Jerusalem there’s an ancient seal. It’s a signet ring of a Jewish official from the time of the Bible. This seal was found right next to the Western Wall, and it dates back 2,700, to the time of King Hezekiah. Now, there’s a name of the Jewish official inscribed on the ring in Hebrew. His name was Netanyahu.
“That’s my last name. My first name, Benjamin, dates back a thousand years earlier to Benjamin – Benyamin, the son of Jacob, who was also known as Israel. Jacob and his 12 sons roamed these same hills of Judea and Samaria 4,000 years ago, and there’s been a continuous Jewish presence in the land ever since.”
“These biblical references made by the prime minister are very significant. Providing the full historic and value-based context is crucial to understanding Israel and the Jewish people today. It is of vital moral and strategic importance that Zionism and the modern State of Israel be recognized not to have originated just over 100 years ago in Basel, Switzerland, but, in fact, as being rooted in almost 4,000 years of Jewish history, beginning with G-d’s promise to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.” (Taken from an article Bibi & the Bible)
