Egypt: Hardline Islamists Sanction Violent Jihad And Bloodshed To Impose Sharia Law Upon Egypt

By Al-Masry Al-Youm, Egypt Independent – “Jama’a al-Islamiya hinted Friday that it may be willing to resort to violence in order to see Sharia adopted in the latest draft of the constitution from the Constituent Assembly.
The group called on Egyptians to collect funds for what it described as a battle against ‘secularists and liberals.’
Jama’a al-Islamiya leader Mohamed Salah is a member of the Jurisprudence Commission for Rights and Reform, which is comprised of a number of Islamist figures, including Khairat al-Shater, deputy supreme guide of the Muslim Brotherhood.
Salah said during a conference in the Ain Shams neighborhood that Egyptians should ‘support Islamic Sharia in the Egyptian constitution,’ and that ‘Jama’a al-Islamiya will fight for the application of God’s law, even if that requires bloodshed.’
He called on Islamist movements to organize mass demonstrations to ‘trap secularists inside the place where the Constituent Assembly holds its meetings, so that everyone knows that the people want an Islamist [state].’
He also demanded that President Mohamed Morsy issue a decree to ‘defeat the schemes of liberals to reject the law of God.’
He stressed that the referendum on the constitution in its current form is forbidden by Islam, calling on the Egyptian people to ‘[wage] jihad and fight in support of Sharia.'” Read more.

British Business Secretary: Europe Could Be Plunged Into War If Euro Collapses
By Rosa Prince, The Telegraph – “Vince Cable has warned that Europe could be plunged into war if the crisis in the eurozone results in the collapse of the currency.
The Liberal Democrat Business Secretary said that the potential consequences of the failure of the Euro were ‘incalculable’ and that there was ‘no automatic guarantee’ that the continent would not disintegrate into conflict.
His comments come days after the Nobel Peace Prize was awarded to the European Union in recognition for its success in warding off conflict since the Second World War.
Speaking at the Cheltenham Literary Festival, Mr Cable said: ‘I think we need to take stock that if the eurozone were to unravel in a way that destroyed the European project – and there is a risk that could happen – the consequences would be absolutely incalculable.
‘We tend to forget, until we were reminded last week of that Nobel Prize, the European project was constructed in order to rescue Europe from extreme nationalism and conflict. There is no automatic guarantee that won’t return.’
David Cameron has said that the ongoing crisis in the Eurozone will present an opportunity for Britain to renegotiate its relationship with the EU.” Read more.

New Zealand: Mysterious ‘Wellington Hum’ Becomes Nationwide Obsession
By Lloyd Burr – “News of the ‘Wellington hum’ has reverberated across the country with the local council inundated with calls on theories about the phenomenon.
The Wellington City Council says calls have flooded in since the noise was first reported in parts of the city three days ago.
The cause of the noise is still unknown but council spokesperson Clayton Anderson says there are several theories floating around.
‘We’ve had around 20 phone calls and got around a dozen emails from around New Zealand from people speculating what it is,’ he says.
One theory is that the Wellington sewerage pump station is reverberating through the pipes into people’s house.
Another caller said the work being carried out on the Mt Victoria Tunnel ventilation shaft could be producing a low-pitched hum.
The most bizarre theory was from a man convinced Daleks – fictional mutant aliens from the TV series Doctor Who – had surrounded the city.
But Daleks or not, it appears the noise is spreading with the council receiving its first call from a resident in Berhampore last night.” Read more.

Japan: Scientist Warns Mount Fuji Is Due For a ‘Big Scale Explosive Eruption’ That Could Affect Millions, Cause Billions In Damage
By Mark Willacy, ABC News – “A Japanese scientist has warned Mount Fuji is due for a ‘big-scale explosive eruption’ that could affect millions of people and cause billions of dollars worth of damage.
Last month a study found the magma chamber under the mountain has come under immense pressure, which could even trigger a volcanic eruption.
It said the added pressure could have been caused by last year’s earthquake, which was followed a few days later by another large tremor directly underneath Fuji.
Professor Toshitsugu Fujii, the head of Japan’s volcanic eruption prediction panel, says an eruption could cause chaos and carnage all the way to Tokyo.
‘Mount Fuji has been resting for 300 years now, and this is abnormal,’ he told Saturday AM.
‘It usually erupts in some form every 30 years.
‘So the next eruption could be a big-scale explosive eruption.’
Ever since last year’s massive 9.0-magnitude earthquake off Japan’s north-east, the country’s meteorological agency has been keeping a closer eye on Mount Fuji.
Of even greater concern to the agency was a magnitude-6.2 quake right under the volcano a few days after the big one.
‘It’s known that when a large earthquake happens, it can trigger a nearby volcano to erupt,’ Professor Fujii said.
‘That’s what happened 300 years ago, when Fuji erupted just 40 days after a big quake.'” Read more.

By Jennifer O’Mahony, The Telegraph – “A protest by 10,000 Muslims outside the offices of Google in London today is just the first in an orchestrated attempt to force the company to remove an anti-Islamic film from website YouTube in Britain.
Thousands had travelled from as far afield as Glasgow to take part in the demonstration, ahead of a planned million-strong march in Hyde Park in coming weeks.
Anger over ‘The Innocence of Muslims’, an American-produced film which insults the Prophet Mohammad and demeans Muslims, according to protesters, remains available to watch on the website YouTube, a subsidiary of Google.
Organiser Masoud Alam said: ‘Our next protest will be at the offices of Google and YouTube across the world. We are looking to ban this film.
‘This is not freedom of expression, there is a limit for that. This insult of the Prophet will not be allowed.
The group’s next action was a march Mr Alam hoped would be ‘a million strong’ would take place in Hyde Park ‘in the next few weeks’, he said.
‘Until it is banned we will keep protesting,’ he added…

Saudi Arabia Calls For Global Internet Censorship To Prevent ‘Insults’ To Islam And Mohammed – “In a submission to forthcoming international talks on internet governance, the Gulf state said ‘there is a crying need for international collaboration to address ‘freedom of expression’ which clearly disregards public order’. During the controversy over a 14-minute clip posted on YouTube and purportedly a trailer for a feature film called ‘The Innocence of Muslims’, Google resisted pressure, including from the White House, to remove it. ‘This video – which is widely available on the web – is clearly within our guidelines and so will stay on YouTube,’ Google said last month.” Read more.
Gog Of Magog: Does ‘Rosh’ Mean ‘Russia’ or ‘Chief’? Understanding The Hebrew Text Gives Us The Answer …
By Joel Richardson – “For centuries, controversy and debate has swirled amongst Biblical scholars concerning how to properly translate and interpret the Hebrew word rosh as found in the Oracle of Gog of Magog, Ezekiel 38 & 39. Some scholars have argued that rosh should be translated as an adjective—meaning chief—and others have argued that it should be translated as a proper noun, referring to a place. The effect of this controversy on various translations is quite apparent when we compare a handful of today’s most popular translations. As we see below, The King James Version, The New International Version and The English Standard Versions all translate rosh as an adjective:
“Son of man, set thy face against Gog, the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal…” —KJV
“Son of man, set your face against Gog, of the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal…” —NIV
“Son of man, set your face toward Gog, of the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal…” —ESV
On the other hand, the New American Standard Bible and the New King James Version both translate rosh as a proper noun:
“Son of man, set your face toward Gog of the land of Magog, the prince of Rosh, Meshech and Tubal…” —NASB
“Son of man, set your face against Gog, of the land of Magog, the prince of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal…” —NKJV
Adhering to the idea that rosh should be translated as a proper noun referring to a place, many prophecy teachers have argued that Ezekiel was speaking here of Russia. In support of this view, virtually all popular prophecy teachers have looked to two renowned scholars of Hebrew, Wilhelm Gesenius and C.F. Keil.
The problem with relying entirely on Gesenius and Keil is that scholars of ancient Biblical Hebrew, just like any other field of study, are constantly growing and discovering gaining new insights and understanding in their fields. While Gesenius (1786-1842) and Keil (1807-1888) were great Hebrew scholars of their day, advances in the field of Biblical Hebrew since the 19th century have shed much new light on this subject and causing the majority of Hebrew scholars today to reject the translation of rosh as a proper noun. By Stefan J. Bos – “TEHRAN, IRAN (BosNewsLife)– Massive arrests of evangelical Protestant Christians, including many former Muslims, are reported in Iran, with men and women being dragged to prisons across the Islamic nation.
‘We have learned that at least 100, but perhaps as many as 400 people, have been detained over the last 10 days,’ said Firouz Khandjani, a council member of the ‘Church of Iran’ house church movement.
Speaking from an undisclosed location, he told BosNewsLife late Saturday, October 13, that forces of the feared intelligence service, who he called ‘Iran’s Gestapo’, broke up worship services in Esfehan, Shiraz and Tehran areas.
‘They are of several movements. But it has become clear that Protestant Christians are now viewed as enemy number one of the state,’ Khandjani said. ‘We need urgent prayers,’ he added when asked what believers need most.
CHURCH MEMBERS DETAINED
He said among those detained late Friday, October 12, are at least five members of the Church of Iran in the city of Shiraz, including Mohammad Roghangir, known locally as ‘Brother Vahid’, who led a house church service attended by some 15 people.

JPost – “The Simon Wiesenthal Center on Friday called on US President Barack Obama to publicly condemn the latest call for jihad against Israel by the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood’s Supreme Guide Mohammed Badie and to sever all contacts with the organization until the threat is withdrawn.
The Center’s call comes after Badie reportedly said in his weekly message to supporters that ‘The Jews have…spread corruption on earth [and] spilled the blood of believers,’ and therefore Arabs Should confront the Jewish state ‘Through holy jihad, high sacrifices and all forms of resistance.’
In a joint statement, Rabbis Marvin Hier and Abraham Cooper, respectively founder and dean and associate dean of the Center, denounced Badie, saying his ‘rant confirms our long held view that Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood is the most dangerous anti-Semitic organization in the world today.’
According to the statement, ‘We are not dealing with a Youtube video or a lone extremist Imam, but a call to anti-Semitic violence by a man who has tens of millions of followers and leads the organization that controls Egypt’s future. It cannot be business as usual in Washington when such an assault is launched against the Jewish people.’

Most Influential Cleric In Islamic World Says All Muslims Must Unite Against Israel To Liberate Jerusalem
Gulf Times – “Al Quds (Jerusalem) and its holy mosque are being desecrated and violated daily by the Israeli Jews, so Muslims and Arabs should hurry to its support, Islamic scholar Dr Sheikh Yousuf al-Qaradawi urged yesterday.
In his Friday sermon at Omar Ibn Al-Khattab Mosque, he recalled that ‘when a Jew burned a small portion of a pulpit of Al Aqsa mosque back in 1969, all Muslims and Arabs of the world hurried to create what came to be known as the Organisation of the Islamic Conference to deal with the issue’.
‘However, now many excavations are being undertaken by Israel under the holy mosque and attacks have become a regular occurrence and yet Muslims are unaware of what is going on,’ Qaradawi exclaimed.
He urged all Muslims and Arabs to unite and adopt the cause of Al Quds and Al Aqsa. He also called on ‘all honourable and free people’ in the world to support such a cause…
Qaradawi praised the stand of Turkey when it ordered on Thursday a Syria-bound aircraft coming from Russia to be grounded and searched. He noted that Turkey had found weapons and military experts on the plane.
‘Russia has become the first enemy of Islam and Muslims because it has stood against the Syrian people; more than 30,000 Syrians have been killed by the weapons supplied by Russia,’ Qaradawi said.” Read more.
