Al-Qaeda Leader: Wage Holy War Against The United States And Israel

Fox News – “CAIRO – The leader of Al Qaeda is encouraging Muslims to wage holy war against the United States and Israel in response to a film that insulted Islam’s Prophet Muhammad.

Ayman al-Zawahri, in an audio message released by Al Qaeda’s media arm As-Sahab early Saturday, claimed Washington allowed the film’s production under the pretext of freedom of expression, but added that ‘this freedom did not prevent them from torturing Muslim prisoners.’

The crudely-produced amateur film, ‘Innocence of Muslims,’ which was posted to YouTube and other online forums, was made by an Egyptian-born American citizen. The video sparked violence in the Middle East, including in Egypt and Libya, where Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three others were killed on Sept. 11 during an attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi. Dozens more have also been killed in violence related to the film.

In Saturday’s audio recording, Al-Zawahri praised ‘honest and zealous’ demonstrators who breached the U.S Embassy in Cairo and attackers who stormed the U.S. ’embassy’ in Benghazi.

Separately, officials said this week that Al Qaeda is rebuilding in Iraq and has established training camps for insurgents in the nation’s western deserts as the extremist group seizes on regional instability. Iraq has seen an increase in Al Qaeda attacks over the last 10 weeks, and officials believe most of the fighters are former prisoners who have either escaped from jail or were released by Iraqi authorities for lack of evidence after the U.S. military withdrawal last December. Many are believed to be Saudi or from Sunni-dominated Gulf states.

During the war and its aftermath, U.S. forces, joined by allied Sunni groups and later by Iraqi counterterror forces, managed to beat back Al Qaeda’s Iraqi branch. But now, Iraqi and U.S. officials say, the insurgent group has more than doubled in numbers from a year ago — from about 1,000 to 2,500 fighters. An average of 140 attacks each week across Iraq, up from 75 attacks each week earlier this year, according to Pentagon data.

‘AQI is coming back,’ U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham, a Republican from South Carolina, declared in an interview last month while visiting Baghdad.” Read more.

The Christian Exodus From Egypt: For Copts, A Persecuting Dictator Was Preferable To The Islamist Mob

By SAMUEL TADROS, The Wall Street Journal – “Visit any Coptic church in the United States and you immediately recognize the newcomers. You see it in their eyes, hear it in their broken English, sense it in how they cling to the church in search of the familiar. They have come here escaping a place they used to call home, where their ancestors had lived for centuries.

Waves of Copts have come here from Egypt before, to escape Gamal Abdel Nasser’s nationalizations or the growing Islamist tide. Their country’s transformation wasn’t sudden, but every year brought more public Islamization. As the veil spread, Coptic women felt increasingly different, alien and marked. Verbal abuse came from schoolteachers, bystanders in the bus station who noticed the cross on a wrist, or commentators on state television.

But life was generally bearable. Hosni Mubarak crushed the Islamist insurgency of the 1980s and ’90s. He was no friend to the Copts, but neither was he foe. His police often turned a blind eye when Coptic homes and shops were attacked by mobs, and the courts never punished the perpetrators—but the president wasn’t an Islamist. He even interfered sometimes to give permission to build a church, or to make Christmas a national holiday.

To be sure, Copts were excluded from high government positions. There were no Coptic governors, intelligence officers, deans of schools, or CEOs of government companies. Until 2005, Copts needed presidential approval to build a new church or even build a bathroom in an existing one. Even with approval, state security often blocked construction, citing security concerns.

Those concerns were often real. Mobs could mobilize against Copts with the slightest incitement—rumor of a romantic relationship between a Christian man and a Muslim woman, a church being built, reports of a Christian having insulted Islam. The details varied but the results didn’t: homes burned, shops destroyed, Christians leaving villages, sometimes dead bodies. The police would arrive late and force a reconciliation session between perpetrators and victims during which everything would be forgiven and no one punished. What pained the Copts most was that the attackers were neighbors, co-workers and childhood friends.

Then came last year’s revolution. Copts were never enthusiastic about it, perhaps because centuries of persecution taught that the persecuting dictator was preferable to the mob. He could be bought off, persuaded to hold back or pressured by outside forces. With the mob you stood no chance. Some younger Copts were lured by the promise of a liberal Egypt, but the older generation knew better.

Canada: Muslim Father Killed Wife Because Children Were Too Western, University Professor Tells Gov’t To End Muslim Immigration

By Joe O’Connor, National Post – “Randjida Khairi was stabbed five times in her chest and back. She had her throat cut, a wound so ugly and deep that it sliced through her neck muscles, voicebox and windpipe — stopping only at her spine.

She was stabbed with two different knives. She drowned in her own blood; a process a pathologist would later determine took between five and 10 minutes. Police discovered Ms. Khairi’s body lying on a bloody cot in her family home, a 16th floor apartment in the northwest corner of Toronto, otherwise all tidy and neat, with a kitchen full of pots.

The victim was the mother of six. The victim was married to her killer for 30 years.

On Wednesday, Peer Khairi, a silver-haired man and an Afghan immigrant, sat in the defendant’s box of a downtown Toronto courtroom following the proceedings through a Dari interpreter, fingering a parade of gruesome crime scene photographs of his dead wife, taken by police on March 18, 2008, and presented to the court as evidence.

The 65-year-old jabbed at some photos with his index finger, and turned others this way and that, uttering a few words to his lawyer, rubbing his chin with his hand. Mostly he sat with his legs crossed, tracing his left thumb across his fingertips…

Mr. Khairi doesn’t dispute that he killed his wife. On that the Crown and the defence agree. At issue is how, precisely, her death occurred and what was going through her husband’s mind when he killed her. The accused has pleaded not guilty to second-degree murder.

The Crown has told the court that, as a new arrival to this country, Mr. Khairi struggled with Canadian ways, often fighting with his wife over how she allowed their children to dress, to become more Western — to drift from the ‘culture and the rules of their birth place.'” Read more.

Saudi Arabia Calls For Global Internet Censorship To Prevent ‘Insults’ To Islam And Mohammed

By Christopher William, The Telegraph – “In a submission to forthcoming international talks on internet governance, the Gulf state said ‘there is a crying need for international collaboration to address ‘freedom of expression’ which clearly disregards public order’.

During the controversy over a 14-minute clip posted on YouTube and purportedly a trailer for a feature film called ‘The Innocence of Muslims’, Google resisted pressure, including from the White House, to remove it.

‘This video – which is widely available on the web – is clearly within our guidelines and so will stay on YouTube,’ Google said last month.

The Saudi government has now told the World Telecommunications Policy Forum, a UN body, that the incident was ‘an obvious example’ of the need for greater international cooperation to restrict content online.

‘Any reasonable person would know that this film would foment violence and, indeed, many innocent persons have died and been injured with this film as a root cause,’ the Saudi submission said…

The submission highlights increasing interest in internet governance discussions from nations that do not share Western liberal values, as access to and the influence of the web grows.” Read more.

‘Kill Christian Infidels’: Muslim Mob In Pakistan Ransacks Christian Home, Burns Belongings After ‘Blasphemy’ Accusation

BBC – “A 16-year-old Christian boy has been held on blasphemy charges in the Pakistani city of Karachi.

The boy, named by police as Ryan Stanten, is said to have forwarded a text message which allegedly contained offensive material on Tuesday.

The following day an angry crowd ransacked his family home, setting fire to their belongings on the street…

Police say the boy told the leaders he had forwarded the message without reading it to others in the middle-class compound for employees of the local gas company where he lived.

His mother was employed by the gas company and reports say she has since been dismissed from her job.

Blasphemy is a highly sensitive issue in Pakistan, where 97% of the population are Muslim. Critics say the laws are often used to settle personal vendettas.

In the past, accusations of blasphemy have led to vigilante killings by mobs.

Rights activists have long urged Pakistan to reform the laws, under which a person can be jailed for life or sentenced to death.

In March 2011 Shahbaz Bhatti, the minister for minority affairs, was killed after calling for the repeal of the blasphemy law.

His death came just two months after the murder of Punjab Governor Salman Taseer, who also spoke out about the issue.” Read more.

Spain And The Islamic Republic Of Catalonia

By Soeren Kern, Gatestone Institute – “A successful push for independence in the Spanish autonomous region of Catalonia would lead to the establishment of a country with the third-largest percentage of Muslims in Western Europe, just behind France and Belgium, and far ahead of Britain and Germany.

An independent Catalonia, with its capital in Barcelona, would also be home to the largest concentration of radical Islamists in Europe; it would emerge as ground-zero for Salafi-Jihadism on the continent and become one of the top incubators for Islamist terrorism in the West…

On September 25, Mas announced a snap election in Catalonia (to be held on November 25), which is being viewed as a plebiscite to gauge popular support for his pro-independence platform. The Catalan parliament also approved a resolution to hold a non-binding referendum on secession once the new legislature is installed.

The ruling parties of Catalonia have also sought guidance from Brussels on the legality of secession from Spain, requesting a ‘roadmap’ for membership of the European Union, along with the use of the euro, as an independent state.

Catalonia has 7.5 million inhabitants, including an estimated 450,000 Muslims, who account for 6% of the total Catalan population. In some Catalan towns and cities, the Muslim population now reaches up to 40% of the population.

As a result of mass immigration from Muslim countries, which began in the 1980s, Catalonia has emerged as ‘a major Mediterranean center for radical Islamists,’ and the United States has even proposed setting up an intelligence hub at the U.S. Consulate in Barcelona to counter the growing threat, according to American diplomatic cables that were obtained by Wikileaks and published by the Madrid-based El País newspaper.

A five-page cable, dated October 2, 2007, for example, describes the link between mass immigration to Catalonia and the rise of radical Islamism in the region.

The document, which is classified ‘secret’ and apparently authored by then-Ambassador Eduardo Aguirre, states: ‘Heavy immigration — both legal and illegal — from North Africa (Morocco, Tunisia, and Algeria) and Southeast Asia (Pakistan and Bangladesh) has made Catalonia a magnet for terrorist recruiters. … The Spanish National Police estimates that there may be upwards of 60,000 Pakistanis living in Barcelona and the surrounding area; the vast majority are male, unmarried or unaccompanied, and without legal documentation. There are even more such immigrants from North Africa. … They live on the edges of Spanish society, they do not speak the language, they are often unemployed, and they have very few places to practice their religion with dignity. … Individually, these circumstances would provide fertile ground for terrorist recruitment; taken together, the threat is clear.’…

Salafism is a branch of radical Islam that seeks to forcibly re-establish an Islamic empire (Caliphate) across the Middle East, North Africa and Spain, which Salafists view as a Muslim state that must be reconquered for Islam.” Read more.

Florida: Worst Red Tide Outbreak In Years Stretching Nearly 100 Miles Kills Thousands Of Fish, ‘There Were Too Many To Count’

By Kate Spinner, Herald Tribune – “The largest red tide bloom to affect Southwest Florida in years stretches nearly 100 miles from Lee County to Pinellas, with reports of fish kills and irritating red-tide air concentrated in Sarasota County.

The widespread nature and intensity of the bloom, strongest off Charlotte Harbor, exceeds a smaller outbreak at this time last year and is the largest to affect the Sarasota area since 2007.

More than seven tons of dead fish have been scooped up from Sarasota County beaches alone — from Casey Key south — in just two days. Beaches were clear at Siesta, Lido, Longboat and farther north.

‘It is a pretty big red tide bloom. If we look at the linear distance along the coast, we’re looking at nearly 100 miles,’ said Alina Corcoran, a research scientist in charge of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Service’s harmful algal bloom program. ‘It doesn’t look like it’s going away any time soon.’

Such blooms can make trips to the beach extremely unpleasant, and even dangerous for pets and people with respiratory illnesses such as asthma.

The algae kills fish and infuses the air with a toxin that makes healthy people cough. People with respiratory illnesses should avoid the beach during red tides.

In Sarasota County, beaches from Casey Key south are getting the worst of the red tide. No effects were reported on the county’s northern beaches, such as Lido, where Bryan Stoothoff was out for an evening jog and John and Sarah Nunn were packing up from a long day in the sun and sand.

John Nunn, on vacation from Kentucky, said Lido was great, but two days ago on Caspersen the beach was so littered with fish that there were too many to count.” Read more.

Egypt: Muslim Brotherhood Supreme Guide Urges Jihad To Liberate Jerusalem, It Is ‘A Duty For All Muslims’

AFP – “The supreme guide of the Muslim Brotherhood, from which Egypt’s President Mohamed Morsi emanated, called on Thursday for a jihad (holy war) to liberate Jerusalem from Israeli rule.

‘Jerusalem is Islamic … and nobody is entitled to make concessions’ on the Holy City, said Sheikh Mohammed Badie in his weekly message to supporters.

‘The jihad for the recovery of Jerusalem is a duty for all Muslims,’ he said, stressing that the liberation of the Holy City’will not be done through negotiations or at the United Nations.’

Israel, which signed a peace treaty with Egypt in 1979, has watched with concern as Islamists were catapulted to the forefront of politics following a popular uprising that toppled president Hosni Mubarak last year.

Morsi has repeatedly said he would respect international treaties signed by Cairo. But his former movement has also said there is room to revise the accords, without objecting to them in principle.” Source – France24.

Three-Star General: Muslim Brotherhood Has Infiltrated Pentagon, Department Of Defence In ‘High Security Clearance’ Positions

William ‘Jerry’ Boykin, in a recent World Net Daily radio interview, confirmed that people with high security clearances connected to the Muslim Brotherhood hold important positions in every major federal agency including the Pentagon and the Department of Defense.

The Muslim Brotherhood is a radical Islamist organization that has vowed the destruction of America from within.

General Boykin has the credentials to back up his conclusions. He was one of the original members of the U.S. Army’s Delta Force which he ultimately led in combat operations. He also served a tour in the CIA during which time he participated in clandestine operations throughout the world. He served his last four years in the Army as Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence.

Lt. Gen. Boykin, who currently serves as Executive Vice President of the Family Research Council, blasted Republicans for condemning Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., who sounded the alarm by questioning the Brotherhood ties of Huma Abedin, a top assistant to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. Boykin said that neither Republicans nor Democrats want to protest too loudly over concerns of being branded intolerant.

The Thomas More Law Center now represents LTC Matthew Dooley, a 1994 graduate of the U. S. Military Academy at West Point.

Report: Duke Professor Confirms Arabic Inscription On Obama Wedding Ring, Leftist Website Tries To Cover It Up

WND – “WND’s report that Arabic-language and Islamic experts claim the gold band Obama has been wearing on his wedding-ring finger for more than 30 years is adorned with the first part of the Islamic declaration of faith naturally was met with skepticism in some circles, but Glenn Beck’s TheBlaze.com news service published a report citing a Duke professor who confirmed the WND experts’ assessment.

Earlier today, before it published the report, four members of The Blaze editorial team, including Editor-in-Chief Scott Baker, cautiously discussed the Obama ring story in their ‘Blazecast Rewind’ Internet broadcast, without mentioning WND.

Baker, noting he had been inundated with links to the WND article, said he approached the story as he does other ‘memes’ that float around the Internet and need to be either debunked or verified.

TheBlaze.com reporter Billy Hallowell told Baker he spoke with a professor from Duke who read the article, examined the photos and affirmed the conclusion of the WND experts.

‘Based on what he saw, he said that this is, essentially, Arabic script on the ring and that it is the first part of the Shahada,’ Hollowell said…

Joel Gilbert, who was first to conclude that the ring bears the Shahada, has issued a more detailed follow-up report he prepared with the assistance of Yousef Shehadeh, a native Arabic speaker from Nazareth who studied Arabic for 13 years in the Holy Land and now works as a graphic artist in Los Angeles.

Gilbert, who has studied Arabic himself, told WND he sent close-up photographs of the ring to Shehadeh ‘cold,’ without offering any opinion, and asked Shehadeh to evaluate them.

Shehadeh replied to him that the script on Obama’s ring is Arabic, and it is the first part of the Islamic declaration of faith.” Read more.

Advisor To Hamas Government In Gaza: Israel Must Disappear

MEMRI – “In an October 8, 2012 article in the Hamas newspaper Al-Risala, Kana’an ‘Obeid, an advisor to the Hamas government in Gaza, urged this movement to refrain from emulating the PLO in making political concessions and adopting pragmatist policies. Instead, he called upon Hamas to declare that it was created to eliminate the state of Israel.

The following are excerpts from the article:[1]

‘The deterioration of the Palestinian cause occurred in a series of steps. Initially, there were slogans such as ‘eliminating Israel’ or ‘bon appétit, oh fish in the sea!’, and the PLO slogan, ‘we will not relinquish one single grain of sand.’ Then there was the consent to [UN Security Council] Resolution 242, the recognition of Israel, and the freezing of the caduque[2] PLO Charter. After that, Abu Mazen [Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud ‘Abbas] declared that Israel is here to stay…[3]

‘[Yet] none of this was sufficient for [Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor] Lieberman to defend ‘Abbas from harm. In fact, Lieberman believes… that ‘Abbasshould be forced to crochet the yarmulkes of the religious Jews, as their poet said, and to celebrate the Jewish holiday of Sukkot with them at Al-Aqsa Mosque.

“The arena to which the PLO has been dragged is very clear. This forces Hamas and the resistance factions to go back [to the beginning] and to avoid pragmatist [measures], as well as the trap of [trying to] win over global public opinion by suggesting the possibility of agreeing to a state within the 1967 borders in return for an extended hudna. This was believed to be the gateway to acceptance by the West, [but, in reality,] it was the first step down a new [slippery] slope that might later be [justified] with brilliant political arguments or even pragmatist religious rulings.

‘In order to fix this [situation], Hamas must refrain from honoring any agreements that the PLO has signed with Israel. The PLO is a dead thing that cannot [even] be embalmed. Hamas’s incorporation into the PLO following its embalming, or following a reform in [the PLO’s] ranks, will constitute recognition of the agreements that the PLO has signed with Israel. The national reconciliation in no way means agreeing to a political plan that includes abiding by the Oslo Accords, and political reconciliation does not mean reconciling [in order to act] against the homeland.

‘We must launch a corrective national vision, in which we distinguish between plans to manage daily life in the homeland and plans to manage the conflict. The PLO abandoned [the latter] and never took them up again, just as it withdrew from the circle of resistance and never returned to it.

‘Hamas must declare that it was formed to eliminate the state of Israel, and that Israel is an entity that must disappear. ANSAmed – “(ANSAmed) – TUNIS, OCTOBER 11 – Leaked video and audio recordings of Sheikh Rachid Ghannouchi, leader of Tunisia’s ruling Ennahda party, are causing the moderate Islamist politician a headache.

Leaked yesterday on Facebook, possibly by Salafist sources, the video allegedly shows Ghannouchi in a meeting with two Salafist leaders, in which he decries secular control of Tunisian media, economy and police. The audio recording, which was leaked on Thursday, purports to be of a February conversation on constitutional reform between Ghannouchi and Salafist leader Sheikh Bechir Ben Hassen, a member of the Tunisian League of Muslim Scholars.

‘The rule of law is based on power and not on the Constitution,’ Ghannouchi allegedly said. ‘We must instil the Islamic spirit in the people. We must take the time to educate our youth, to spread a global Islamic consciousness. That is when the people themselves will demand sharia law.'” Source – ANSAmed.
