‘Judaism Has Lost Its Title As The World’s Most Persecuted Religion; Today, That Dubious Honor Goes To Christianity’

Although the author of the article below creates a sharp distinction between Judaism and Christianity, according to Biblical Scripture the Gospel — in both the Old and New Covenants — is written and administered by Jews. There is nothing Gentile about it. The Christian faith is therefore 100% Jewish, no matter the doctrine, just like the Old Covenant is 100% Jewish. The entire Bible is Jewish and it is Gentiles who are brought into fulfilled Judaism, which we call Christianity — not the other way around — by being grafted into the Jewish paradigm, not into a Gentile one. As I have said elsewhere, we should not view believing Jews as being a part of the Church of God because they believe in Jesus, but rather it is we as Gentiles who are now a part of the Church of God because we believe in Yeshua …

Ephesians 2:13-19, “But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ … who has made both one … to create in Himself one new man from the two … For through Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father. Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God”

Commentary Magazine – “In recent months, a new consensus has emerged: For the first time in millennia, Judaism has lost its title as the world’s most persecuted religion; today, that dubious honor goes to Christianity. ‘Christians are targeted more than any other body of believers,’ wrote Rupert Shortt in a 54-page report for the London-based Civitas institute in December, which meticulously documented their persecution on a country-by-country basis. Even politicians have begun grasping this fact: German Chancellor Angela Merkel publicly deemed Christianity ‘the most persecuted religion in the world’ in November. In short, as one commentator put it last week, Christians have become the new Jews.

There are two reasons why Christianity has displaced Judaism as the world’s most persecuted religion. One, obviously, is increased persecution of Christians, which stems largely from the rise of radical Islam: Though non-Islamic countries like China also repress Christians, only radical Islamists kill them wholesale. The other is that today, Jews face less persecution than ever before in history. And that is entirely due to the existence of the State of Israel.

Were hundreds of thousands of Jews still scattered throughout the Islamic world, as was true a century ago, they would assuredly face persecution no less severe than Christians do. But they aren’t, because most have relocated to Israel. In fact, for the last 64 years, any Jew anywhere who felt sufficiently threatened to want to leave his country has been able to find sanctuary in Israel, and Israel has repeatedly gone to great lengths to try to rescue those who want to leave but can’t.

Many Christians, too, might like to leave places like Egypt or Iraq. But unlike the Jews, they have nowhere to go: No country on earth will automatically open its doors for them–with no questions asked and no numerical limitations–the way Israel does for Jews. And still less would any country do so for Jews if Israel didn’t exist.

A decade ago, at the height of the intifada, a fellow Israeli complained to me that Israel had failed in its mission to be a safe haven for Jews. On the contrary, she charged, Israel today is the most dangerous place on earth for Jews to live.

Technically, she’s correct: A Jew in Israel is far more likely to be killed just because he is Jewish than a Jew in Europe or North America. What she failed to grasp is that this is precisely the measure of Israel’s success: Israel today is the most dangerous place to be a Jew because any Jew living someplace more dangerous can relocate to Israel instead–and almost all of them have. In short, the fact that almost no Jews today live someplace more dangerous than Israel is proof positive of Israel’s success as a haven.

Though there are many reasons why Israel, for all its flaws, deserves support from all decent people, and especially all Jews, this is the most basic of all: If Israel didn’t exist, Judaism would still top the list of the world’s most persecuted religions, and Jews would be slaughtered throughout the Islamic world just as their Christian brethren are today. And nobody who cares about the Jewish people–or about saving human lives in general–could truly think that alternative is preferable.” Source – Commentary Magazine.

Unfortunately this blogger has both spun the truth and and made statements which are utterly false (both serious errors) in an effort to embellish an already horrifically frightening topic. For instance the statements that both covenants of the Bible were written and administered by Jews and that the Christian faith is 100% Jewish are nothing more than flat out LIES. History shows that Christianity was in fact an abrupt DEPARTURE from Judaism and that what we now know as the New Testament (or Covenant) concerns roughly the first hundred years of Christianity and was in fact written and administered by GNOSTICS, early Christians who were either Jewish separatists or religiously non-denominational (Gentiles). The article continues with just enough spinning and twisting of fact to qualify it, unfortunately and unnecessarily as propaganda.

This blogger could learn a lesson from E.A.Poe or Shakespeare, the most frightening things are those left unsaid . . .

Hello Simon, thank you for your comments. Scripture speaks for itself in this regard. Let’s take a look at a few Old Testament verses along with a few New Testament verses as well:

Isaiah 12:2-4, “Behold, God is my salvation. I will trust, and will not be afraid; for the LORD, the LORD, is my strength and song; and he has become my YESHU’AH. Therefore with joy you shall draw water out of the wells of YESHU’AH. In that day you will say, ‘Give thanks to the LORD! Call on HIS NAME. Declare his doings among the peoples. Proclaim that HIS NAME is exalted!’”

Isaiah 62:11, “Behold, the LORD hath proclaimed unto the end of the world, Say ye to the daughter of Zion, Behold, thy YESHU’AH cometh; behold, HIS reward [is] with HIM, and HIS work before HIM.”

Notice the Hebrew word for “salvation”. What is Isaiah referring to? He is referring to Messiah. Who is the Messiah? The Hebrew name of Jesus: Yeshu’ah (Yeshua, Yahshua). Isaiah is referring to a HIM. Isaiah is pointing forward to Messiah Yeshu’ah.

Matthew 1:21, “She shall bring forth a son. You shall call his name YESHUA, for it is HE who shall save HIS people from their sins.

John 4:14, “… whoever drinks of the water that I [YESHUA] shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.”

Revelation 22:12, “And behold, I [YESHUA] am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work.”

The Gospel — the “Good News” of the Promise of YHWH — was taught to the children of Israel in the Old Testament, which is to have complete faith in God and His promised Messiah (cf. Genesis 3:15). Prior to the coming of Yeshua, they looked forward to the Messiah. We look back to the Messiah today, now that He has come. You see, Simon, the focus has always been, and will forever be, faith in YHWH and His Messiah (His Anoited One, Yeshua, His “Salvation”). HE is our Salvation.

Yes, the Old and New Covenants were administered by Jews. Paul (Sha’ul) was a Jew (Acts 21:39, “Paul said, ‘I am a Jew of Tarsus in Cilicia'”). Notice what he, as a Jew, explains for us in 1 Corinthians 10:1-4:

1 Corinthians 10:1-4, “Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea; And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea; And did all eat the same spiritual meat; And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ [Messiah].”

Was the Messiah not the Savior of Old Testament believers as well? Yes, Yeshua was their Savior. That Rock was their Salvation. The faith of Old Testament believers is the same faith that we have today — in Messiah. In fact, Paul also writes in the epistle of Hebrews the following:

Hebrews 3:16-4:3a, “For who, having heard, rebelled? Indeed, [was it] not all who came out of Egypt, [led] by Moses? Now with whom was He angry forty years? [Was it] not with those who sinned, whose corpses fell in the wilderness? And to whom did He swear that they would not enter His rest, but to those who did not obey? So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief. Therefore, since a promise remains of entering His rest, let us fear lest any of you seem to have come short of it. For indeed the gospel was preached to us as well as to them; but the word which they heard did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in those who heard [it]. For we who have believed do enter that rest …”

So again, faith in the Messiah of the children of Israel today (what we often call “Christianity”) is therefore 100% Jewish just as the Old Covenant is 100% Jewish. It is not a departure from Judaism. The entire Bible is Jewish and it is Gentiles who are brought into fulfilled Judaism — not the other way around — by being grafted into the Jewish paradigm, into one Olive Tree, not into a Gentile paradigm or a separate “tree”. Hope this helps.

    Again……Awesome post!
This goes right to the heart of the matter: The covenants are Jewish, the Feasts are Jewish, and the whole of the bible, including the Messiah is Jewish. The Gentile church has drifted so far from their roots that It’s Jewishness is barely recognizable any more. Frankly, it is still steeped in paganism and largely seems content in its apostate condition.
I say these things not to cause hurt feelings but to sound a warning cry……”Come Home!” Return to the GOD of your fathers; for some they are the physical seed and the rest are the spiritual seed of Abraham.
GOD did not start a new religion; “GOD does not change.”
I believe that HE is now separating the wheat from the tares and joining together all of His children, both “Jew and Gentile, as one new man.” Remember that their is ONE flock and ONE Shepard, Yeshua.
