Islamic Teacher Tells Muslims To Avoid Facebook And Twitter Because They’re ‘Un-Islamic’

And don’t forget about blogs and forums that discuss Islam from the perspective of “the vilest of creatures” like Jews and Christians. Aside from seeing an unveiled female face, the most likely reason why Muslims are being told to avoid social media is because it just might expose the truth about Islam and Mohammed from time to time. And that would be a blasphemous insult to “Allah” and his messenger. When the internet communicates the Islamic lie, it is perfectly ok. But when it challenges it, then it isn’t. Because that could lead to social unrest or, even worse, cause someone to question Islam entirely …

Ephesians 5:11, “… have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them.”

Mirror – “Muslims should not create profiles on Facebook or Twitter because they are ‘un-Islamic’, religious leaders in India have claimed.

Influential helplines for believers in the country have been flooded with calls asking if the popular social networks are compatible with Islam.

But Muslims – and especially women – have been told by two leading Islamic scholars not to tweet.

Mufti Abul Irfan Naimul Halim Firagni Mahli said: ‘Women should not post pictures on Facebook or anywhere else on the Internet.

‘This is un-Islamic. You can’t see someone’s face on Facebook and decide that you want to be friends. Look for love in real life.

‘Virtual relationships are not faydaymand (profitable).’

Of the calls the Mufti fields each month in India on his popular helpline more than 50 per cent questions are about Internet usage.

The Sunni muslim cleric was joined by a Shia religious leader, who runs a helpline for the minority sect there, in ordering women not to post pictures on Facebook

Maulana Saif Abbas Naqvi told Indian media: ‘Women are not allowed to show their faces to anyone apart from their ‘mehram’ (male kin like father and brothers).

‘So posting pictures on Facebook is banned.'” Source – Mirror.

Flashback: Iran’s Leader Embraces Facebook And Twitter, Fellow Iranians Are Blocked – “When Iran’s supreme leader got a Facebook page in December, Iranians sat up and blinked. Some thought it was a fake, finding it hard to believe that Ayatollah Ali Khamenei would be using a technology that his own government blocks… But some of Khamenei’s supporters quickly rallied behind the move, which first came to light in a reference on — you guessed it — the ayatollah’s Twitter account. Iran has one of the highest percentages of Internet access in the Middle East, but the number of sites Iranians can legally visit is extremely limited.” Read more.

Flashback: Saudi Arabia Calls For Global Internet Censorship To Prevent ‘Insults’ To Islam And Mohammed – “In a submission to forthcoming international talks on internet governance, the Gulf state said ‘there is a crying need for international collaboration to address ‘freedom of expression’ which clearly disregards public order’. During the controversy over a 14-minute clip posted on YouTube and purportedly a trailer for a feature film called ‘The Innocence of Muslims’, Google resisted pressure, including from the White House, to remove it. ‘This video – which is widely available on the web – is clearly within our guidelines and so will stay on YouTube,’ Google said last month.” Read more.
