Nigerian Church Leaders: Muslims Are Out To Destroy Christians, ‘They Are Making Worship Services Impossible’

Qur’an Sura 9:29-30, “Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day … nor acknowledge the religion of [Islam], even if they are of the People of the Book … the Christians say: The Messiah is the son of Allah; these are the words of their mouths; they imitate the saying of those who disbelieved before; may Allah destroy them …”

Hadith, Al Bukhari 2:24, “Allah’s Apostle said: ‘I have been ordered (by Allah) to fight against the people until they testify that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah and that Muhammad is Allah’s Apostle …”

Hebrews 13:15,

Hebrews 13:15, “Therefore by Him [Christ] let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name.”

Morning Star News – “Reports of Christians attacked in central and northern Nigeria draw more attention, but in more southerly Benue state Islamic extremists killed at least 205 Christians in the last six months alone, sources said.

In the southeastern part of Nigeria’s middle belt, Benue state’s Agatu Local Government Area saw deadly attacks on Christian farmers by Muslim, ethnic Fulani herdsmen from May through November that displaced an estimated 10,000 people, Christian leaders said.

As in attacks in Plateau state, several of the assailants appeared to be mercenaries from outside the area rather than herdsmen, and locals questioned how the Fulani became so heavily armed. In some of the attacks a herdsmen spokesman alleged stolen cattle as the reason for the bloodshed, but frequently the Nigerian press asserted that motives for the attacks were unknown.

Christian leaders, however, said they had no doubt the Muslim assailants aimed to demoralize and destroy Christians.

‘These attacks on Christian members of our churches have disrupted church activities, as Christians can no longer worship together in their congregations,’ the Rev. David Bello, bishop of the Anglican diocese of Otukpo, told Morning Star News.

The Rev. Michael Apochi, Roman Catholic bishop of Otukpo Diocese, added that attacks by Muslim Fulani gunmen have devastated Christian communities.

‘Life has become unbearable for our church members who have survived these attacks, and they are making worship services impossible,’ Apochi told Morning Star News by phone.

The two Christian leaders called on the Nigerian government to urgently take measures to curb unprovoked attacks on Christians in rural areas of the state.

In the early hours of Nov. 9, Muslim Fulani gunmen killed 25 Christians in seven villages, said area Christian leader Sule Audu.

‘Seven Christian communities were completely ravaged by the rampaging Muslim Fulani gunmen,’ Audu said. ‘The previous Thursday, Nov. 8, two Christian communities of Ikpele and Okpopolo were attacked by the Muslim Fulani herdsmen in a raid that resulted in the killing of three persons, injuring many others, and the displacement of about 6,000 Christians.’

The attacked villages were Ello, Okpagabi, Ogwule-Ankpa, Ogbangede, Ekwo, Enogaje and Okpanchenyi, he said.” Read more.

Muslim Persecution Of Christians: October 2013, More Slaughter In Muslim Lands

Matthew 10:22, “And you will be hated by all for My name’s sake. But he who endures to the end will be saved.”

By Raymond Ibrahim, Gatestone Institute – “Two of the most tragic Islamic attacks on Christians, killing several women and children, took place in the month of October, one in Syria, another in Egypt.

On October 21 in Syria, U.S.-supported Islamist rebels invaded and occupied the ancient Christian settlement of Sadad for over a week, until ousted by the Syrian army. What took place that week was ‘the largest massacre of Christians in Syria,’ in the words of Orthodox Archbishop Alnemeh. Among other things, 45 Christians—including women and children—were killed, several were tortured to death; mass graves were discovered; all of Sadad’s 14 churches, some ancient, were ransacked and destroyed; the bodies of six people from one family, ranging from ages 16 to 90, were found at the bottom of a well (an increasingly common fate for ‘subhuman’ Christians).

The jihadis also made a graphic video (with English subtitles) of those whom they massacred, while shouting Islam’s victory-cry, ‘Allahu Akbar!’ [‘Allah is Greater!,’ meaning ‘than anything’]. Another video, made after Sadad was liberated, shows more graphic atrocities.

The day before rebels invaded Sadad, on Sunday, October 20, the Church of the Virgin Mary in Warraq, near Cairo, Egypt, was attacked during a wedding ceremony. The attack left four dead and nearly two dozen wounded. According to a report issued by a forensic team, two of those murdered were young girls, each named Mary: 12-year-old Mary Nabil Fahmy, who was shot five times in the chest, and 8-year-old Mary Ashraf Masih (‘Masih’ meaning ‘Christ’), who was shot in the back.

The security forces charged with protecting the church were seen leaving their posts immediately before the massacre began, as happens frequently in Egypt and other Islamic nations. In the words of Asia News, ‘Eye-witnesses of the al-Warraq attack confirm that despite numerous distress calls, police and ambulances only arrived on the scene two hours after the shooting.’

These massacres in Syria and Egypt received scant attention and even less condemnation from Western media and governments. Instead, people such as Mohamed Elibiary, an Obama administration Homeland Security adviser, condemned Copts who raise awareness of anti-Christian violence in Egypt as promoting ‘Islamophobic’ bigotry.

Although Christians are habitually killed in Muslim countries, as this series attests, the U.S. government rarely condemns the practice or even acknowledges it. When five Muslims were killed in western Burma, however, the U.S. issued a formal condemnation, according to Voice of America, ‘urging authorities to do more to address the long-standing sectarian tension there.’

Syria: Jihadists Threaten Massacre, Impose Sharia Law After Invading Christian Village Of Kanayé

Revelation 14:12, “Here is the patience of the saints; here are those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus.”

Qur’an Sura 9:29-30, “Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, even if they are of the People of the Book … the Christians say: The Messiah is the son of Allah; these are the words of their mouths; they imitate the saying of those who disbelieved before; may Allah destroy them …”

Agenzia Fides – “The Christian village of Kanayé, Orontes River, in the Governorate of Idlib, has been invaded by Islamist militants that terrorize the population, threaten a massacre and have imposed the Islamic law. This is what was reported to Fides Agency by Mgr. Giuseppe Nazzaro, vicar emeritus of Aleppo, who received an alarming report by the faithful Christians of Aleppo. This has become a pattern that repeats itself and that in recent weeks has focused on a number of Christian villages: armed guerrillas penetrate into the village, terrorize civilians, commit kidnappings, kill, sow destruction. ‘In Kanayé Salafi militants and the jihadists of ‘Jabhat al-Nousra’ have imposed on the pastor not to ring bells. Women must not go out on the street bare-headed, but must be veiled. And if they do not obey these orders, the threat is massacre’, reads a note of Msr. Nazzaro, sent to Fides.

‘We are facing what they have already done in the nearby village of Ghassanieh for over a year. In Ghassanieh they warned the residents to leave the village immediately, otherwise they would have killed them, and they got the desired result: to occupy the village with what Christians possessed. In Kanayé, they have not imposed on the population to leave but to live according to the Islamic law’. According to the vicar emeritus, ‘this could be the first step: tomorrow they will force them to convert to Islam’.

In recent days, Fr. George Louis, Greek-Catholic parish priest of the village of Qara, which has been devastated and burned, explained to Fides: ‘Maalula, Sednaya, Sadad, Qara and Deir Atieh, Nebek: armed jihadists target a village, they invade it, kill people, burn and devastate it. For civilians, Christian or non-Christians, life is always more difficult. The foreign militia act out of the control of our Syrian Free Syrian Army (FSA) compatriots, who instead respect everyone, and they do not want to raze the entire country’.” Source – Agenzia Fides.

In A Punishing War, Bread Is Now A Barometer Of The Suffering In Syria

Revelation 6:6a, “Then I heard what sounded like a voice among the four living creatures, saying, ‘Two pounds of wheat for a day’s wages, and six pounds of barley for a day’s wages …”

By Lyse Doucet, BBC News – “In a punishing war, bread is now a barometer of Syrians’ suffering. Even their most basic food has become hard to find, even harder to afford.

In the past two years of a worsening crisis, bread prices have risen by 500% in some areas, according to a new survey obtained by the BBC from the International Rescue Committee (IRC).

Four out of five Syrians say their greatest worry is that food will run out.

‘These findings show us that starvation is now threatening large parts of the Syrian population,’ warns IRC President David Miliband.

In many embattled cities and towns, shortage of fuel, flour and electricity means bakeries and bread can be almost impossible to find.

And in parts of rural Damascus besieged by government forces and in areas in the north cut off by rebel fighters, bread is a symbol of hardship.

‘We haven’t eaten a piece of bread in nine months,’ was the anguished cry of many Syrians we met as they fled the southern Damascus suburb of Moadamiya during a partial evacuation in late October.

Eating less
At government-run bakeries, the price of bread has not changed in 20 years. A traditional flat round piece still only costs two Syrian pounds (£0.01; $0.02).

On a bitterly cold winter’s day, Syrians bang their fists on the metal doors of a large bakery in central Damascus, shouting for more bread to be brought out. Syrians of all ages rush by with towering stacks of warm flat loaves.

‘We count on this bread for all our meals,’ one man told me as he clutched bags, three kilos full, to feed his own family, as well as some friends.

‘In private bakeries we would have to pay 10 times more,’ another man chimes in.

A few streets away, at a crowded distribution site for the World Food programme, country director Matthew Hollingworth observes that ‘people are eating less, eating less often, and the quality of food is also less’.

‘Cereal production is down by 40%,’ he points out, ‘and the imports are not there to cover the gap.'” Read more.

Unsealed: A Closer Look At Revelation 6 And ‘The Four Horsemen Of The Apocalypse’ – “Because of ‘Sharia lawlessness’ the ‘Religion of Peace’ is typified by widespread destruction and disparity, and any number of recent headlines bear this out all too well… In Mali, 4.6 million people are threatened with starvation following Islamist advances in the north. Starvation threatens more than 7 million citizens in Afghanistan as over 90% of the country’s agriculture is destroyed by drought. In Somalia, Islamist militants deprive 1.3 million people of food, clean water and health care after banning humanitarian aid… Nigeria faces famine because most of the farmers in the north are threatened by Islamist attacks seeking to impose Sharia Law upon all. As Islamists engage in an all-out war to oust Bashar Al-Assad and implement an Islamist state in Syria, a flesh-eating parasite dubbed the ‘Aleppo Boil’ sweeps across the country while famine grips a desperate, war-weary population… The fruit of Islam and its laws have produced and will continue to produce the type of conditions that precipitate and perpetuate all sort of pestilences, all manner of plagues, any number of conflicts and hardships both inside and outside the Islamic world.” Read more.

Kyrgyzstan: Muslim Men Threaten To Kidnap And Rape Christian Girl On Facebook

For peaceful purposes …

Qur’an Sura 4:34a, “Men have authority over women because [Allah] has made the one superior to the other …”

Daniel 11:37a, “Neither shall he regard the God of his fathers, nor the desire of women …”

Qur’an Sura 33:50a, “O Prophet! Lo! We have made lawful unto thee … those [women] whom Allah hath given thee as spoils of war…”

By Stu Bykofsky, Philadelphia Daily News – “IF ALBINA Kurmanbekova returns home, she has many prospects for marriage.

Not marriage as we understand it, however. More than a dozen Muslim men have threatened her with ‘bridenapping,’ forcible marriage that is indistinguishable from kidnapping, rape and slavery.

Welcome to Kyrgyzstan, where ‘bridenapping,’ a gross violation of human rights, is the national sport played by men and endured by women.

That’s not what Albina wants, that’s what she fears – and that’s why she has filed for asylum in the U.S. She’s living with the family of her aunt Mira Kasymkulova on a quiet Holmesburg street. Kasymkulova has been in the U.S. for 15 years and translated for Albina, whose English is weak.

Bridenapping occurs in scattered parts of the world, usually in patriarchal societies. Even where it is against the law, as it is in Kyrgyzstan, enforcement is nonexistent, said Kurmanbekova, something I verified. Where bridenapping exists, it is usually a tribal ‘tradition.’

I asked the aunt if a bridenapped young woman wouldn’t get help from her father.

She laughed. No, because most likely the father was a bridenapper himself. In Kyrgyzstan, a stunning 50 to 75 percent of marriages follow bridenapping. Suicide has been reported among some of those bridenapped.

In Albina’s case, there is an overlay that makes it more terrifying: She is a Christian.

Albina arrived in the United States in June on a work-and-travel visa, and when that became known, 13 Muslim men, posting on Russian Facebook, threatened to bridenap her if she ever returned, one of them vowing to snatch her right at the airport.

Albina decided never to return, even if that meant not seeing her parents and three younger sisters again. In America, she had seen a way of life in which women are not chattel.

She also saw another freedom here: freedom of worship.” Read more.

Flashback: Pakistan: Increasing Number Of Christian Girls Kidnapped By Muslims, Raped, Forced To Convert To Islam – “For the last several years there has been an alarming increase in the kidnapping and false conversion of Christian girls. According to a report from the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP), last year 1800 Christian and Hindu girls were forcibly converted to Islam. The police hardly registered any cases against the Muslim kidnappers and sometimes even supported them. On some occasions courts even used Islamic laws in favour of the perpetrators. This is a growing problem for Christians and Hindus and CLAAS has raised its concerns with the Pakistani government, but unfortunately it has fallen on deaf ears.” Read more.
