By Agence France-Presse – “Visiting Afghan President Hamid Karzai said in New Delhi on Saturday he no longer ‘trusts’ the United States, accusing the Americans of saying one thing and doing another in his troubled homeland.

Karzai’s statement to journalists came a day after he insisted he would not be ‘intimidated’ into signing a security pact allowing US troops in Afghanistan to stay on after next year.

‘I don’t trust them,’ Karzai said in a wide-ranging discussion at a local hotel in which he singled out a letter US President Barack Obama wrote last month assuring him that US forces would ‘respect’ the safety of Afghans in their homes.

Karzai was speaking on the second day of a three-day visit to India during which the United States hopes New Delhi can persuade him to sign the troubled troop deal.

Karzai, who is due to stand down after elections next year, initially endorsed the so-called Bilateral Security Agreement, or BSA.

But he later said the agreement could only be signed after the presidential election in April, warning against a NATO presence if it just meant ‘more bombs and killings’.

His stance has outraged US officials and lawmakers, who have threatened a complete forces pullout if Karzai does not sign by the end of the year.

‘When Obama writes to me that he will respect homes, they should prove it… implement the letter, respect Afghan homes,’ Karzai said.

‘Just instruct no more bombings and there will be no more bombings and of course launch the peace process publicly and officially,’ he said.

‘I am trying to make it a win-win for all,’ he said.” Read more.

‘Whopper Of A Fireball’: Large Meteor Explodes Over Arizona, ‘It Was Absolutely Enormous’

CNN – “A resounding boom over Tucson, Arizona, roused residents from their dinner tables Tuesday and had them pointing up to the sky.

With the largest meteor shower of the year around the corner, the heavens seemed to be giving them a sneak preview. A whopper of a fireball roared over their heads and exploded, rattling their houses.

A dash cam captured it on video as it vanished in a bright blaze.

The spectacular annual Geminid meteor shower kicks into high gear Thursday night, NASA said, and people around the world will be able to enjoy it.

Some of its meteors have already been dashing through Earth’s atmosphere. The agency recorded nine of them Tuesday night.

But the Tucson meteor did not appear to be one of them, said NASA meteor expert Bill Cooke, who analyzed the flying space rock after two NASA cameras in Arizona recorded it on video.

Traveling at 45,000 mph, it was too slow.

‘A Geminid moves at 78,000 mph,’ he said. And the direction it came from was not typical for a meteor from the big shower.

The Arizona fireball was just one of the handful of ‘sporadic background’ meteors that whiz through the atmosphere every day.

But this was a big one, Cooke confirmed. It weighed about 100 pounds and was about 16 inches thick. It made quite a bright flash, as it burned up in the atmosphere.

Even with 100 to 120 meteors per hour coming down during its peak on Friday and Saturday, the Geminid shower now has a tough act to follow.

Astronomer Tod Lauer heard the blast but did not bother to look outside.

‘We were eating dinner and heard a good bang that rattled the roof of our house. I dismissed it as a sonic boom,’ he posted to Facebook.

He realized it had to be more than that, when a local TV station phoned the scientist, who studies images from the Hubble Space Telescope, to ask him to explain what had happened.

Frantic eyewitnesses across the state called local news outlets to report what they saw.

The explosion shook Tony Kubrak’s house, too, he told CNN affiliate KGUN, which received a flood of calls and hundreds of posts to its Facebook page.

Kubrak went outside to check it out.

‘I see this tremendous, white, bright light in the western sky. And it was just … it was absolutely enormous, I couldn’t believe it.'” Read more.

By Pete Williams, NBC News – “A 58-year-old airport worker was charged Friday with allegedly planning a suicide bombing at a passenger terminal at the Wichita Mid-Continent Airport in Kansas.

The suspect, Terry Lee Loewen, an avionics technician who lives in Wichita, was arrested earlier in the day as he attempted to use his security pass to drive a vehicle that he thought contained explosives onto the tarmac at the airport, law enforcement officials said at a news conference in Wichita. In fact, the car contained only dummy explosives.

U.S. Attorney Barry Grissom said Loewen spent months developing a plan to drive a carload of explosives to the airport terminal and that he was determined to trigger the bomb himself and die in the blast.

Loewen, who is white, became radicalized after reading extremist Islamic material on the Internet, Grissom said.

A criminal complaint filed in U.S. District Court in Wichita charges Loewen with one count of attempting to use a weapon of mass destruction, one count of attempting to damage property by means of an explosive and one count of attempting to provide material support to a designated foreign terrorist organization. He was scheduled to be arraigned at 3 p.m. local time.

If convicted on all counts, he faces a maximum penalty of life in prison.

Investigators tell NBC News that Loewen has been under scrutiny since August, when he began having an online exchange with someone he thought was a like-minded individual but who turned out to be an FBI employee.” Read more.

Arabs Control 99.75% Of Middle East Land, But Israel’s Control of 0.25% Is Too Much For Obama

By Dr. Tuvia Brodie, INN – “Once again, Israel’s Left tells us that Israel cannot survive if we refuse to surrender land. They say that Israel and ‘Palestine’ can live ‘side-by-side in peace and security’.

They are wrong.

Currently, Arabs control 99.75 per cent of land in the Middle East. Israel controls 2.5 tenths of one per cent of the Middle East.  Israel’s Left, the EU and the US believe that that is too much land for Jews.

There can be no peace, in their opinon, if Jews control that much land.

Therefore, sometime in 2014, Israel must give to the Arab both Judea-Samaria and parts of Jerusalem. That way, Arabs will control 99.87 per cent of the Middle East.

The West is serious about this. So is Israel’s Left. They both want Israel to sign a diplomatic ‘letter of intent’ to allow ‘peace’ to unfold in ‘stages’; at least, that’s the most likely scenario for current peace talks.

It’s a clever approach. It allows the West and Israel’s Left to declare that a deal has been done.

It won’t matter that all that’s been done is an agreement to agree. What will matter is, the West and Israel’s Left will have a piece of paper they can wave and say, ‘we have peace’.

Haven’t we beem there, done that?

The PA—our so-called peace partner—will also wave paper in the air. But it won’t be a peace agreement. It will be their new map–which shows ‘Palestine’ in place of Israel.

This moment, however, will be a beginning, not an end. For Arabs, the ‘end’ will come only when Israel has been destroyed and all Arab “refugees” return to Israel.

Their leader, Mahmoud Abbas, will wave his map in the air. He may not say the words, but his intent will be to declare some kind of final war against Israel.

The ‘Palestinian’ end-game (to replace Israel) will then begin.” Read more.

Enabling The Caliphate: The Middle East Now Has Three Alliances, And None Of Them Are With The U.S.

By Ryan Mauro, The Clarion Project – “Turkey and Iran’s move to form an Islamist super-bloc is changing the balance of the Middle East. Egypt and Saudi Arabia have chosen to lead an Arab bloc of their own, rather than capitulate to their enemies’ dominance.

Our last analysis of this development explained that three distinct blocs were formed since the Muslim Brotherhood was toppled in Egypt:

1. The Shiite bloc consisting of Iran, Hezbollah, Iraq and the Syrian regime.

2. The pro-Muslim Brotherhood Sunni bloc, consisting of Turkey, Qatar, Tunisia, Hamas and some Syrian rebels.

3. The anti-Iran/anti-Brotherhood Sunni bloc consisting of Saudi Arabia, Egypt, other Syrian rebels and other Arab countries.

The first two blocs are on opposite sides in the Syrian civil war, but are hoping to negotiate a ceasefire that allows them to mend ties. The third bloc feels so threatened by the other two that Saudi Arabia is widely rumored to be offering Israel access to its airspace to strike Iran’s nuclear facilities.

Clarion Project was recently told by an intelligence source that the Saudis and Israelis have moved ‘beyond talking’ and there will likely be on-the-ground preparations for this scenario soon.

The Syrian civil war had put Turkey and Iran at odds, but the prolonged stalemate is compelling the two governments to look for a way forward. The Turkish Foreign Minister was recently in Tehran, where he said they agreed to push for a ceasefire. He also said Turkey and Iran will ‘join hands’ to be ‘the backbone of regional stability.’

Both sides are bleeding and spending heavily in the Syrian civil war and the demographic realities make it difficult to envision either side prevailing. Syria is likely to be divided with the Iran-allied regime holding onto the Allawite and Christian areas and the rebel-controlled Sunni areas winning autonomy.

Turkey will have to twist the Syrian Muslim Brotherhood’s arms to make this happen. The group refuses to negotiate with Iran and claims it rejected a recent offer from Iran to pressure Assad into stepping down from power in return for reconciliation.

That is a huge concession. The last reported offer from Iran came in January 2012, when it was willing to hand the Syrian government to the Brotherhood as long as Assad remains at the helm. Now, if the Syrian Brotherhood is telling the truth, the Iranian regime is willing to push Assad aside. Unfortunately for Turkey and Iran, the Brotherhood is unwilling to be seen as a sell-out.

The third bloc led by Saudi Arabia is not giving up on overthrowing Assad and is using its proxies to become the dominant Syrian rebel force. The Saudis arranged for rebel units to break away from the Free Syria Army to form the Salafist-led ‘Army of Islam.’ This Salafist force represents the Saudi brand of Islam but is opposed to Al-Qaeda, an enemy of the Saudi Royal Family.

The Army of Islam is the beginning of Saudi Arabia’s plan to build a 40-50,000 strong national army. The Saudis imported Pakistani instructors to train 5-10,000 of them and have set up training centers in Jordan.

The nuclear deal with Iran heightened the tension between these blocs. As the deal was being finalized, an Iran-backed militia in Iraq fired mortar shells into Saudi Arabia. It said that it was retaliation for Saudi Arabia’s anti-Shiite agitation.

‘If they continue their provocations, we will carry out armed operations inside Saudi territories,’ the militia threatened.” Read more.

By Jobs & Hire – “The International Humanist and Ethical Union (IHEU), a global organization that unites atheists, agnostics, and other religious skeptics, released a study that shows 13 Muslim countries around the world mete out execution of non-believers of Islam, according to a Reuters report.

The Freethought Report 2013 covered all 193 U.N. member states and asked the expertise of lawyers and human rights experts to look into statutes, court records and media accounts to verify the situation of atheists and non-believers.

The study found that atheists and free thinkers are always subjected to discrimination and the worst that could happen to them is execution.

‘This report shows that the overwhelming majority of countries fail to respect the rights of atheists and freethinkers although they have signed U.N agreements to treat all citizens equally,’ Sonja Eggerickx, IHEU President, told Reuters.

IHEU’s study this year is more comprehensive. It brought to the fore a full list of countries where execution, usually public beheading, takes place. The study includes Afghanistan, Iran, Malaysia, Maldives, Mauritania, Nigeria, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Sudan, United Arab Emirates and Yemen. The list of countries in the study is higher compared to seven out of 60 countries surveyed last year. The study showed that the offenses that warranted public execution are blasphemy and apostasy, or when a believer renounces the faith or switches to another religion.

The study also showed that ‘there are laws that deny atheists’ right to exist, revoke their citizenship, restrict their right to marry, obstruct their access to public education, prevent them working for the state….’

The study asserted that when a person criticizes religious faith in these countries, his action is frequently treated as a felony that can be equated to blasphemy, which is punishable by death.

IHEU also pointed out that a more systematic oppression of atheists and non-believers take place in the European Union. In countries like Austria, Denmark, Germany, Greece, Malta and Poland, any person can be discriminated against and might face jail sentences up to three years if the person publicly expresses his non-belief.” Source – J&H.

Syria: Muslim Cleric Tells Children To Hate And Kill Christians, ‘The Entire World Is For Allah’

By Raymond Ibrahim, Frontpage Mag – “A video recently appeared of an Islamic Sunni cleric in Syria inciting Muslim schoolboys, most of whom appear  to be between the ages of five-twelve, to hate and kill Christians and others.

According to a report in Arabic (scroll down for video), among other things, the sheikh calls on the children to ‘slaughter all Christians for being infidels’ and that he boasted that ‘the Christians of Syria are under continuous attack and their churches and monasteries subject to violence.’

In the video, the sheikh first talks of Islam’s egalitarianism—that it does not consider the race, nationality, or language of people, only whether they have submitted to Islam by becoming Muslims or not—adding, ‘because the entire world is for Allah.’

He then tells the children that ‘Islam uplifts the Muslims and debases the non-Muslims,’ while raising one hand, symbolic of Islam, and lowering the other, symbolic of all non-Islam, to drive the point home to his young audience.

Next the sheikh asked the children, ‘Now, the crusaders, that is, the Christians, are they Muslims or infidels?’ A few boys answer, ‘infidels.’

He agreed, pointing out that various Koran verses say that whoever says Jesus is the son of God (that is, Allah) or that he is God is an infidel (see Koran 5:73 and 5:17).

To clarify the point to those children unable to understand all this ‘theological’ talk, the cleric made the sign of the cross, saying ‘Christians are they who do this.’

He then moved on to the Alawites, the Shia sect of President Bashar Assad, and called on the children to slaughter anyone belonging to them—making a knife-slitting motion with his hand across his neck—because they too are infidels.

The sheikh further told the children in attendance that what they are being taught in schools—that Christians and Alawites are their ‘brothers’ and they are all one nation—is false and a lie against Islam. This would be a reference to the highly divisive Islamic doctrine of loyalty and enmity, which commands Muslims to hate all non-Muslims—even if they are married to them.

As for the school text books that the boys are taught from—which he said teach all Syrians to treat each other as ‘brothers’ and as ‘one nation,’ regardless of religion—these he called ‘poisonous,’ since ‘these teachings contradict the law [Sharia] of Allah.’

Finally, while confirming that some non-Muslims have ‘rights’ under Islam—a reference to third-class dhimmi status—he called on the children never to show any love for Christians or Alawites, even if they are their neighbors.

Such is the unswerving nature of the ‘rebels’ and ‘opposition’ that the U.S. government is supporting.” Source – FrontPage Mag.

By Adam Kredo, The Washington Free Beacon – “The White House says that an Iranian ballistic missile test would not invalidate a recently signed nuclear accord meant to temporarily halt some of Iran’s most controversial nuclear work.

The White House clarified its stance just days before Iran is scheduled to launch another ballistic missile some 75 miles into the atmosphere.

The statement contradicts recent remarks indicating that such a test would in fact violate and nullify the weeks-old agreement, which provides Iran with some $7 billion in relief from economic sanctions in exchange for a partial six-month freeze of its uranium enrichment program.

A White House National Security Council (NSC) spokeswoman told PolitiFact on Friday that an Iranian missile test in the next six months would in fact ‘be in violation of the agreement’ and that ‘the agreement would cease to exist.’

Asked on Wednesday morning to clarify that statement in light of Iran’s intent to launch a rocket next week, a White House official said that PolitiFact got it wrong.

‘That statement on ballistic missiles is incorrect,’ the official told the Washington Free Beacon via email. ‘We have reached out to PolitiFact to correct.’

PolitiFact staff writer Steve Contorno did not immediately have comment on the controversy when contacted Wednesday afternoon by the Free Beacon.

Nearly five hours after the Free Beacon contacted the White House and PolitiFact about the issue, a correction was appended to Contorno’s original article.

‘This story has been changed to reflect a misstatement by the U.S. National Security Council on whether a missile test by Iran would ‘be in violation of the agreement (with Iran). The agreement would cease to exist,’’ the correction states. ‘After the story was published, the National Security Council asked PolitiFact to correct the record that they had meant that Iran would be forbidden from testing a nuclear warhead.’

The White House confirmed that a ballistic missile test would not invalidate the deal.

‘The prohibition would not include testing of a conventional ballistic missile,’ according to the correction.

Iran announced late Tuesday that it intends to launch another ‘research’ rocket into space by the end of next week, according to Iran’s state-run Fars News Agency.” Read more.

BookOfDanielOne of the most commonly held positions by many premillennial Christians today asserts that the time leading up to the Second Coming of Christ will be immediately preceded by a seven-year “peace treaty” signed between Antichrist and Israel. While I had at one time held to this position myself, subsequent studies have lead me to conclude that there is no solid Biblical basis for this view, only interpretative assumptions. Years of personal study as it relates to Biblical eschatology has also made it apparent to me that, even though we’d all love to believe we have every aspect of the prophetic texts completely figured out, we still continue to see as through a glass darkly. With as many opinions regarding secondary doctrines as there are Christian denominations, one obvious reality is that there is not a single pastor or teacher or author who has a complete and perfect understanding of Scripture or that is free from error, myself included, indicating that one interpretative method or hermeneutical approach alone cannot provide all the answers that we so often seek as students of Scripture.

As brothers and sisters in Christ, we can vigorously debate secondary doctrines (these must never be allowed to divide us) yet remain united on the essentials of our faith. Recently, I had the pleasure of engaging in a spirited debate regarding the prophecy of Daniel 9:24-27 with Joel Richardson, author of “Mideast Beast” (which I highly recommend) and a brother in Christ whom I esteem highly. Following our debate, Joel felt it was necessary to defend the view which posits an upcoming seven-year peace treaty between Israel and Antichrist by writing a subsequent article titled “The Antichrist’s False Peace Treaty” and offering a number of reasons why he believed it to be a sound, tenable position. Again: Turkish Students Arrested For Nazi Salutes At Auschwitz

By Ari Soffer, INN – “Two Turkish tourists could face up to two years in prison for giving Nazi salutes outside the site of the Auschwitz-Birkenau extermination camp in Poland.

The Turkish nationals – who according to Turkey’s Zaman news site are a man and woman, both aged 22 – are apparently studying history at Budapest university in neighboring Hungary.

They reportedly took pictures of each other making the offensive gestures underneath the infamous ‘Arbeit macht frei’ (‘Work makes you free’) sign, which stands at the entrance to the former death camp. The sign was one of the first – and for many, the last – things which the camp’s estimated 1.1 million victims, approximately 90% of whom were Jewish, saw upon arrival, after being offloaded from crowded cattle carts.

The pair will likely face charges for publicly promoting Nazi symbols in public, which is a criminal offense in Poland.

Rising anti-Semitism

This is not the first time Turkish students have been arrested for displays of fascism at the site of a former Polish concentration camp.

In a similar incident in October, two Turkish university students were arrested at the site of the Majdanik death camp after giving Nazi salutes to a group of Israeli students and shouting ‘Heil Hitler’.

The two protested their innocence at the time, saying they had only meant the gestures ‘as a joke’.

This latest incident once more shines a spotlight on growing anti-Semitism in Turkey, a phenomenon which has forced many young Turkish Jews to leave the country and which many analysts blame on the ruling Islamist AKP party, whose own leading officials have actively engaged in anti-Semitic rhetoric.” Read more.
