‘Unknown gunmen attacked prominent cleric Sheikh Abdullah al-Hassan, imam and preacher at al-Sheikh Abdullah Mosque, while he was at home’ in al-Imam neighbourhood, Ninawa police spokesman Col. Khalid al-Hamdani told Al-Shorfa.

‘They opened fire on him, killing him immediately,’ he said.

WND – “An Israeli physicist says the breakthrough scientific discovery of further evidence of the Big Bang theory, which some are calling ‘cosmology’s missing link,’confirms the universe was created.

‘One thing the announcement does do is make it clear that the universe had a definite starting point – a creation – as described in the book of Genesis,’ Bar Ilan University physics Professor Nathan Aviezer told the Times of Israel.

‘To deny this now is to deny scientific fact.’

A team of scientists headed by astronomer John M. Kovac of the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics announced Monday it had found the evidence it was seeking to support the theory that the universe had a beginning.

The New York Times’ headlined it story ‘Space ripples Reveal Big Bang’s Smoking Gun.’

The report said radio astronomers had confirmed they had detected the beginning of the Big Bang, and a theory by physicist Alan Guth, now at MIT, regarding ‘inflation’ appeared to be correct.

Guth’s hypothesis was that the universe was ‘wrenched violently apart when it was roughly a trillionth of a trillionth of a trillionth of a second old.’

Kovac’s study detected ripples in the fabric of space-time, what some are calling gravitational waves, as a signature of the creation event.” Read more.

By Tova Dvorin, INN – “Top-ranking government officials allotted ten billion shekel ($2.89 billion) to the IDF’s budget in preparation for an armed conflict with Iran, Ha’aretz reported Wednesday.

The report cites ‘senior military officials’ and three unnamed Knesset MKs as stating that the huge sum – the same as in 2013 – has been relegated within the IDF treasury for preparations for an attack on the Islamic Republic in 2014.

The report also interprets statements from IDF representatives and ‘government officials from the political echelon’ as the IDF receiving direct orders from Netanyahu and Ya’alon over the issue.

The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) and IDF Spokesperson’s Office both declined to comment.

While Ya’alon was adamant about the US taking the lead in attacks against Iran in the previous Knesset term, and took up the issue with then-Defense Minister Ehud Barak, he recently criticized the US and the West for remaining complacent about the outcome of ongoing talks.

‘Everyone knows Iran is lying,’ Ya’alon noted. ‘But the pampered West is satisfied with postponing conflict [with Iran over the nuclear program].’ He added that it may be possible to stall Iran ‘until next year – or even after this term – but eventually, it will explode.'” Read more.

By Raymond Ibrahim, PJ Media – “Recently on live TV, Sheikh Abdul Maqsud, an Islamic jurisprudent, issued a fatwa obligating ‘Muslims’ (in this context, Muslim Brotherhood supporters in Egypt) to engage in acts of terror against ‘infidels’ (in this context, the Egyptian government and anyone else opposing the Brotherhood).

Maqsud began by quoting the well-known hadith in Sahih Muslim wherein prophet Muhammad reportedly said that if a Muslim sees forbidden acts being committed, he should forcefully stop them, ‘with the hand’; if he is not capable of doing so, he should try to prevent them ‘with his tongue’; and if he still cannot do that, he should at least be against such acts ‘in his heart.’

Maqsud’s point was that jihad must be understood in the context of capability.  Because the Muslim Brotherhood and its jihadi allies and supporters are simply not capable of taking the Egyptian state head on — due to, as Maqsud bemoaned, Egypt’s military strength and organization, advanced weaponry, and large numbers of soldiers — all pro-Brotherhood Muslims should limit themselves only to those things they can do, namely, terrorism.

To further bolster this view, the sheikh quoted from the renowned Islamic jurist Ibn Hazm, who wrote that Muslims must only draw the sword in jihad when victory is attainable.

And because the Brotherhood’s supporters have little chance of attaining victory by drawing the sword in a head on jihad,  ‘All that is left for us,’concluded Maqsud, ‘is to try to terrorize them, by burning their cars, threatening them, burning their homes, etc.’

Maqsud, like so many before him, rationalized jihad in the context of the doctrine of abrogation, specifically, by taking the view that later verses do not cancel out earlier ones, but rather that Muslims must uphold those verses that are closest to their personal circumstances.” Source – PJ Media.

Here we have the President of the PA himself accusing Israel of trying to “invent” a Jewish history and erase “historical facts” while Muslims all throughout the “Islamic world” (yes, even the invented, non-existent “Palestinian” people) are busy with every effort to eliminate any and all traces of Jewish and Christian history from their own lands. Mail Online – “A California man who spoke of wanting to bomb the Los Angeles subway system was arrested near the Canadian border in Washington state and charged with attempting to travel to Syria to fight alongside Islamic extremists, federal prosecutors said Monday.

Nicholas Teausant, 20, of Acampo, Calif., an unincorporated area near Lodi, was taken off a northbound Amtrak bus overnight just short of the border.

A criminal complaint filed in federal court in Sacramento described him as a student at San Joaquin Delta Community College in Stockton and a member of the National Guard who is being discharged for failing to meet basic academic requirements.

Beginning last spring, Teausant began expressing on his online photography account a desire to see America’s downfall, saying ‘I would love to join Allah’s army but I don’t even know how to start,’ the complaint said.

Later, he took to another online forum to say he hoped to fight in Syria, the document states.

It wasn’t immediately clear if Teausant had a lawyer.

He was charged with a single count of attempting to provide material support to a foreign terrorist organization and was due to appear later Monday in U.S. District Court in Seattle.

The complaint said he had discussed numerous other ideas for terrorist activity that never came to fruition, including a plot supposedly hatched during a camping trip with seven other people to bomb the Los Angeles subway system last New Year’s Eve or New Year’s Day.” Read more.

A series of bomb blasts in Tanzania’s island of Zanzibar is stoking fears that an Islamist breakaway movement is increasingly targeting Christians.

Since 2010, the cases have been on the increase and Christians and their leaders — many of them originally from mainland Tanzania — say they are anxious.

In the latest attack on Feb. 24, assailants exploded a homemade bomb near the gate of St. Monica Anglican Cathedral, slightly damaging the church wall and a car park. Anglican bishop Michael Hafidh of Zanzibar told World Watch Monitor at the time he did not know who had planned and executed the attack.

Also Feb. 24, a similar explosive went off at the Mercury restaurant, a popular hangout for western tourists. A day earlier, four people were injured when a bomb was thrown into the Assemblies of God Church in the Founi area of the island. On Feb. 15, in the Tomondo area of the Island, a home-made bomb was thrown at the door of the Adventist Church during a worship service.

Hafidh said although this is not the first time the churches had been targeted, the recent series of explosions has left Christians feeling more scared. Read more…

By Reza Kahlili, The Daily Caller – “A leading ayatollah of Iran’s Islamic regime is promising that Western leaders will be executed by the Islamic messiah, the state-owned media outlet Mehr news reported Saturday.

‘When Imam Zaman [‘Mahdi,’ the last Shiite Imam] comes, he will behead the Western leaders,’ warned Ayatollah Mohammad Emami Kashani, the interim Friday prayer leader of Tehran and a member of the Assembly of Experts, the body that chooses the supreme leader. ‘However, Imam will not harm the oppressed nations,’ he said.

The Shiite clerical establishment in Iran believes that at the end of times, the 12th Imam, Mahdi, a ninth century prophet, will reappear with Jesus Christ at his side, kill all the infidels and raise the flag of Islam in all four corners of the world.

A video revealed in 2011, ‘The Coming Is Upon Us,’ showed regime intentions: change in the Middle East, destruction of Israel and the coming of Mahdi. The video, produced by the regime, was to be distributed in the Middle East.

Kashani compared the Western leaders as ‘tag rags’ and criticized Europe’s foreign policy chief, Catherine Ashton, for her recent visit to Tehran in which she met with female dissidents. Qur’an Sura 5:101a, “O ye who believe! Ask not questions about things which, if made plain to you, may cause you trouble …”

If the “holy” Qur’an were truly holy it would need to be divine in origin. To be divine in origin would necessitate that any and all its claims be free from error, be they historical or scientific. Science has shown us that the sun does not set in a spring of murky water. The Qur’an says otherwise (Sura 18:86).  Science has confirmed that the earth is spherical. The Qur’an says otherwise (Sura 2:22, 15:19, 50:7, 78:6-7, 88:20). Science discovered that the stars are not close to us. The Qur’an says otherwise (Sura 37:6). Science discovered that the moon does not emit light but rather reflects it. The Qur’an says otherwise (Sura 71:16). Science discovered that the earth did not exist before the creation of the universe. The Qur’an says otherwise (Sura 2:29). Science discovered that male sperm comes from the testicles, not from between the backbone and the ribs. The Qur’an says otherwise (Sura 86:6-7). Science discovered that flesh is formed before bones. The Qur’an, yet again, says otherwise (Sura 23:14). We can go on and on, but these blatant errors alone — embarrassing errors that Muslims are forced to somehow reinterpret, rationalize and otherwise explain away — all beg the question: What else in the “holy” Qur’an wrong about? …

Somalia: Muslims Publicly Behead Christian Mother In Front Of Her Screaming Children

Morning Star News – “Islamic extremists from the rebel Al Shabaab militia last week publicly beheaded a mother of two girls and her cousin in southeastern Somalia after discovering they were Christians, sources said.

In the port town of Barawa in the Lower Shebelle Region, the extremists on March 4 called residents to the town center to witness the executions of the 41-year-old mother, Sadia Ali Omar, and her 35-year-old cousin, Osman Mohamoud Moge, the sources said.

Before killing them, an Al Shabaab militant announced, ‘We know these two people are Christians who recently came back from Kenya – we want to wipe out any underground Christian living inside of mujahidin [jihadists’] area,’ according to an area resident whose name is undisclosed for security reasons.

Omar’s daughters, ages 8 and 15, were witness to the slaughter, sources said, with the younger girl screaming and shouting for someone to save her mother. A friend helped the girls, whose names are withheld, to relocate to another area.

‘We are afraid that the Al Shabaab might continue monitoring these two children and eventually kill them just like their mother,’ the area resident said.

The militants from Al Shabaab – which has vowed to rid the country of the Christian fellowships, which meet secretly as leaving Islam in Somalia is punishable by death – became suspicious of Omar and Moge due to their irregular attendance at Friday mosque prayers, sources said.” Read more.
