By Josh Saul, New York Post – “An elderly Pakistani immigrant beat his wife to death with a stick after the doomed woman made the mistake of cooking him lentils for dinner instead of the hearty meal of goat meat that he craved, according to court papers.

Noor Hussein, 75, was so outraged over the prospect of eating the vegetarian fare that he pummeled his wife, Nazar Hussein, 66, inside their Brooklyn apartment until she was a ‘bloody mess,’ prosecutors said in opening statements of his murder trial Wednesday.

‘Defendant asked [his wife] to cook goat and [his wife] said she made something else,’ court papers said.

‘The conversation got louder and [his wife] disrespected defendant by cursing at defendant and saying motherf–ker and that the defendant took a wooden stick and hit her with it on her arm and mouth.’

Defense attorney Julie Clark admitted Hussein beat his wife — but argued that he is guilty of only manslaughter because he didn’t intend to kill her. She said that in his home country, beating your wife is customary.

‘He comes from a culture where he thinks this is appropriate conduct, where he can hit his wife,’ Clark said in her opening statements at the Brooklyn Supreme Court bench trial. ‘He culturally believed he had the right to hit his wife and discipline his wife.'” Read more.

    I can only say that this person is an unjust believer so don’t blame the religion. And plus, whoever runs this site, he has given a verse (4:34) that is not complete and the meaning has been distorted. There is no such thing as verse 4:34a, by the way. Wow, since when this site has become a propaganda site?

    Hi nanda, thank you for your comment. I agree that his belief is “unjust.” But it is not “unjust” because it is a distortion of true Islam. Rather, it is “unjust” because Islam is a distortion of truth. This man believes what he believes because it is the Islamic religion itself that denigrates women and gives sanction to the misogynistic proclivities of Muslim men. Note the following:

    * The “prophet” of Islam blames women for their mistreatment: Hadith, Bukhari, 5096, “[Muhammad said] The worst sin and distraction from virtue that I have left for man is woman …”

    * The “word of Allah” endorses the mistreatment of women: Qur’an Sura 38:44, ”And take in your hand a green branch and beat her with it, and do not break your oath …”

    * The “prophet” of Islam ignores the mistreatment of women: Hadith, Abu Dawud, 2142, “The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: A man will not be asked as to why he beat his wife …”

    * The “prophet” of Islam denigrates the mental capacity of the “inferior” sex: Hadith, Bukhari 6:301, “[Muhammad] said, ‘Is not the evidence of two women equal to the witness of one man? … This is the deficiency in her intelligence.’”

    * The “word of Allah” again endorses the corporal punishment of women: Qur’an Sura 4:34, “Men have authority over women because [Allah] has made the one superior to the other… Good women are obedient… As for those from whom you fear disobedience, admonish them and send them to beds apart and beat them …”

    * The “word of Allah” promotes the virtual imprisonment of women in their own homes: Qur’an Sura 33:33a, “And abide quietly in your homes, and do not flaunt your charms [as women] as they used to flaunt them in the old days of pagan ignorance; and be constant in prayer, and render the purifying dues, and pay heed unto God and His Apostle …”

    * The “prophet” of Islam claims that most women are incapable of earning their way to “paradise”: Hadith, Bukhari 5196, “[Muhammad said] When I stood on the door of hell, I saw most of its inhabitants were women …”

    * The “word of Allah” endorses the raping of “captured” women: Qur’an Sura 33:50a, “O Prophet! Lo! We have made lawful unto thee … those [women] whom Allah hath given thee as spoils of war …”

    * The “word of Allah” endorses “marital rape”: Qur’an Sura 2:223, “Your wives are your fields, so go into your fields whichever way you like… Be mindful of [Allah]: remember that you will meet Him …”

    Instead of ingoring reality, let’s examine it. In the religion of Islam, women are treated like mere possessions. They are treated like sex objects. They are treated like garbage. They are not treated as equals, nor with the dignity and respect that they deserve.

    The “a” denotes the first portion of the verse. If you would like the complete verse, then let’s take a moment to look at it. The full verse calls men the superior gender as well as domestically superior. It also gives the “superior” Muslim man the authority to physically strike their disobedient and inferior wives, too, despite some translator’s attempts to whitewash the teaching of the text. Here are a few translations:

    Sura 4:34, Pickthall, “Men are in charge of women, because Allah hath made the one of them to excel the other, and because they spend of their property (for the support of women). So good women are the obedient, guarding in secret what Allah hath guarded. As for those from whom ye fear rebellion, admonish them and banish them to beds apart, and scourge them. Then if they obey you, seek not a way against them. Lo! Allah is ever High Exalted, Great.”

    Sura 4:34, M. H. Shakir, “Men are the maintainers of women because Allah has made some of them to excel others and because they spend out of their property; the good women are therefore obedient, guarding the unseen as Allah has guarded; and (as to) those on whose part you fear desertion, admonish them, and leave them alone in their sleeping places and beat them; then if they obey you, do not seek a way against them; surely Allah is High, Great.”

    Sura 4:34, Dawood, “Men have authority over women because God has made the one superior to the other, and because they spend their wealth to maintain them. Good women are obedient. They guard their unseen parts because God has guarded them. As for those from whom you fear disobedience, admonish them and forsake them in beds apart, and beat them. Then if they obey you, take no further action against them. Surely God is high, supreme.”

    Sura 4:34, Yusuf Ali, “Men are the protectors and maintainers of women, because Allah has given the one more (strength) than the other, and because they support them from their means. Therefore the righteous women are devoutly obedient, and guard in (the husband’s) absence what Allah would have them guard. As to those women on whom part you fear disloyalty and ill conduct, admonish them (first), (next), refuse to share their beds, (and last) beat them (lightly); but if they return to obedience, seek not against them means (of annoyance) for Allah is Most High, Great (above you all).”

    The teaching of this verse is abundantly clear. Men are not superior because they manage the affairs of women. Rather, they manage the affairs of women because men are superior. Could it not be possible that Mohammed’s misogynistic proclivities was likely spurred on by his own superstitious beliefs in evil omens? For example:

    Hadith, Sahih Al-Bukhari 4.111, Narrated by Sahl bin Sad Saidi, “Allah’s Apostle [Mohammed] said ‘If there is any evil omen in anything, then it is in the woman, the horse and the house.’”

    Here the “prophet” of Islam compares women — elsewhere referred to as “inferior” and making up the majority of the inhabitants of hell and deserving of a beating when disobedient — to a horse and a house. Yes, to an animal and a possession. Is that the type of “prophet” you truly want to follow? Is the god of Islam the sort of deity you truly want to worship? Are the religious teachings above the teachings you truly want to believe?

    There is an alternative. He’s called the true God of Heaven. His Name is Yahweh, and Jesus is His Messiah. And in His Word, you are treated with dignity, with love, with kindness, and as an equal who was also created in God’s image:

    Genesis 1:26a, 27, “Then God said, ‘Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness’ … So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.”

    Colossians 3:19, “Husbands, love your wives and do not be harsh with them.”

    Ephesians 5:25, 28, “Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself [died] for her … husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies; he who loves his wife loves himself.”

    Galatians 3:28, “There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.”

      It’s funny because you said the true God is Yahweh. As far as I know, that is the Hebrew name for Allah subhanahuwata’ala. I don’t understand why I have to argue with another person who embrace Abrahamic religions. Allah has allowed you (Israel) to embrace Zabur and Torah, so be it. Injil for the followers of Isa alaihissalam. Qur’an is the last word of Allah because we are the people of the last ummah. Meaning, the world is ending and we are heading towards Armageddon.

      And I do feel sorry because the translations of Qur’an verses you gave me, do not give the best interpretation. English is not a language to understand religion. Science, maybe. English language has calculation in it, but lack of feelings. Women are not “the worst sin and distraction from virtue”. The Arabic language is: “The greatest fitnaa after my leaving is women.”. “Fitnaa” which roughly interpreted as “something that has a potential to create confusion and conflict within someone’s soul, belief and/or understanding”. It means that women are so beautiful and very close to men’s hearts that they can easily lead a man astray. For example, he can be a good muslim but when he sees a women flaunts her sexual charm, he would want to have sex with her, even forcibly. Then he will lost his belief in Allah. So don’t question why there are rapers out there and most of them are males. If a muslim rapes someone then they have committed adultry so there will be a just punishment later. By short, Allah wants women to be protected and Allah wants women to protect themselves by not flaunting their powerful sexual charms to male strangers.

      Husbands have rights to control their wives because women have a bad habit to brake rules. You should question why in heaven Eve swallowed the Apple (or Khuldi fruit) completely and Adam only managed to gulp it as far down as his throat. In the history of Islam there were women who were considered beatiful, smart, witty, free, successful and respectable. Islam does not degrade women. Males are told to be humble and don’t just pick a woman based on her look as to be his wife. Why do you think Allah picked Maria (Maryam) as the mother of Isa the Messiah? Maria never let herself being touched by males, she always prayed to God and even God fed het Himself. Maria is a pure woman and that is a kind of woman that Allah likes. And that is what matters. I’m done with this topic.

      I understand your hatred, I dont even understamd why there is so many muslims commit sins like suicide bombings (suicide = hell), rape (adultry) and even contract marriages (adultry and zalim). They even kill non-believers who do not attack them first (not allowed). This is because we ate getting close to Armageddon. But please don’t hate Qur’an (at leat read the Arabic one) because it means you mock and hate your own YHWH.

    Hi nanda, you have been misinformed. The name “Yahweh” (YWHW) never appears as the name of any god outside the Judeo-Christian Scriptures, and the name “Allah” never appears in our Scriptures, either. “The word alah does exist in Hebrew but it is not a proper name and it never refers to God. It has three principal meanings: (a) to curse, swear, or adjure; (b) to lament (weep); and (c) to arise, ascend, climb, go away, leap, etc.. It is an indisputable fact that ALLAH does not appear even once as the Name of God, or even of a man, in the Hebrew Scriptures. There is no word ‘alah’ or ‘allah’ in the Greek New Testament at all. It was, quite simply, unknown in the Bible world. To therefore claim that ‘Allah’ was the name of God in the Bible is without one single shred of evidence. God has always been known as Yahweh, or (much less frequently) by the contraction Yah.

    Muslim scholars have gone to great lengths to try and prove that the Arabic ‘Allah’ is, in fact, the same as the Hebrew ‘Eloah’, which is not a proper name and simply translates as ‘God’. The words ‘El’ and ‘Elohim’ also translate the same way, appear far more numerously than Eloah, and may be used to designate either the true God, pagan deities, idols, or even human judges. It is for this reason that I have heard Muslim apologists get annoyed when other Muslins talk about ‘God’ instead of ‘Allah’ because the word ‘God’ can be applied to any religion’s god.     Islam is not an Abrahamic faith. It never has been, and it never will be, despite its claims. There is only one faith of Abraham, and it is belief in Yahweh and His Promise — Jesus Christ (Yeshua Ha-Machiach) who was crucified — the very thing that Islam completely denies:

    Galatians 3:1b-8a, 14, 16: “Before your very eyes Jesus Christ was clearly portrayed [openly and publicly] as crucified … Abraham ‘believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.’ Understand, then, that those who have faith [in Christ and Him crucified] are children of Abraham. Scripture foresaw that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, and announced the gospel in advance to Abraham … He redeemed us in order that the blessing given to Abraham might come to the Gentiles through Christ Jesus, so that by faith we might receive the promise of the Spirit… The promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed. Scripture does not say ‘and to seeds,’ meaning many people, but ‘and to your seed,’ meaning one person, who is Christ.”

    We reject the Qur’an because it is full of historical and scientific errors, full of violence, racism, hate, misogyny and contradiction, and much more, despite it’s claims of being scientifically sound and free from contradiction. The Qur’an is just 1 book that was written (recited) over a period of 23 years by 1 man. Archaeologists believe that old Qur’anic fragments they find suggest an evolving text, not one that is “unchanged” or “timeless.” The Bible, however, is a collection of 66 different books that were written over a period of 1,500 years by 40 different authors (the oldest books may be nearly 4000 years old). Archaeologists find fragments that are virtually identical to the texts we have today. Additionally, according to Biblical Scripture, the Law and the Prophets ended with John (Luke 16:16), and was fulfilled with the true Jesus of Biblical Scripture (Matthew 5:17). We believe that all additional “law” and “revelation” from any self-professed “prophet” afterward is man-made and false.

    So the man is not responsible for his own actions, and rape is the fault of the woman? This is precisely what the Hadith itself even implies.

    This narrative is false. The original account of what happened tells us that this took place in the garden, not in heaven, and that both Adam and Eve ate the fruit. This is another example of where the Muslim understanding of the Bible (and similar narratives) is either incomplete or misconstrued. In the Book of Genesis, the reality is that Adam tried to blame Eve (and even tried putting some of the blame on God Himself), however the Biblical account puts the blame upon both Adam and Eve as well as the “serpent” (Lucifer) — not upon Eve alone — and records how God punishes Adam and Eve as well as the “serpent.” I would encourage you to read the original text (which is to say, the Biblical text), not the modified version of events as recorded in the Qur’an / Hadith.

    I’m glad you see the problems that are redolent within Islam. But if you want to understand why they do what they do, look no further than the “prophet” of Islam itself:

    Hadith, Bukhari 2977, “I have been made victorious with terror” – The “Prophet” Of Islam, Mohammed

    Qur’an Sura 33:21, “Indeed in Allah’s Messenger (Mohammad) you have an excellent example to follow for him who hopes in (meeting with) Allah and the Last Day …”

    It doesn’t get any clearer than that.
