Syria: Muslim Rebels Confiscate Christian Land, Homes In Raqqa Province

Agenzia Fides – “The militiamen of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), a Sunni jiahdist formation acting on the scenario of the Syrian conflict, confiscated houses and land belonging to Christian families in the area of Ein al-Issa, the area in the province of Raqqa inhabited mainly by Armenian Christians on Sunday, June 1st. According to Kurdish sources consulted by Fides Agency, the owners of the property confiscated by the Islamists were forced to leave the area.

The city and the area of Raqqa, in northern Syria, have long been under the control of the jihadists of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, that have already turned the main Armenian church in the capital in an office for the management of Islamic Affairs and for the promotion of the sharia.

In the past ISIL also organized symbolic actions, such as the burning of Bibles and Christian books. The kidnapping of the Roman Jesuit Paolo Dall’Oglio, who has been missing in Raqqa since early last August, has been attributed to members of this faction. Kentucky: Muslim “Refugee” Caught Stealing From Christian Ministry Trying To Help Him

Charged with theft and deception. Sounds an awful lot like the “prophet” of Islam himself …

WDRB – “A refugee living in Louisville is accused of stealing from an organization that was trying to help him.

According to the arrest warrant, Mustafa Abbas Shighain used a bank account number and routing number for Kentucky Refugee Ministries to pay his personal bills without consent. Kentucky Refugee Ministries relocates refugees from other countries into the Louisville area. The refugees are issued a check each month for $300 for living expenses.

Police say Shighain was a refugee when he began using the business routing number and bank account number to pay his own bills, including Time Warner and LG&E. He’s also accused of opening a Pay Pal account using the same routing number and account number, then trying to have money transferred from Kentucky Refugees Ministries’ account into the Pay Pal account, but the transaction was denied.

Police say Shighain also applied for and received a Speedway gas card in his own name using the Kentucky Refugees Ministries’ information.

According to arrest documents, an employee became suspicious of Shighain after the business received a letter from Pay Pal denying the transaction that Shighain had tried to make. An audit was conducted and the unauthorized transfers were uncovered.

Police say Shighain stole a total of $2,200 from the business.

Shighain was arrested on May 29 and charged with theft by deception and unlawful access to a computer.” Source – WDRB.

Egypt: Angry Mob Of Islamists Torch Christian Businesses Near Luxor

JNS – “A mob of Islamists burned several Christian-owned shops in a wave of violence directed against Christians in southern Egypt near the ancient city of Luxor.

The attack came just hours before the start of a trial for a young Christian man who is facing blasphemy charges over a series of Internet postings, The Associated Press reported.

Egyptian Christians have been disproportionately targeted in blasphemy cases. According to the U.S. State Department, nearly 40 percent of the defendants in blasphemy cases in Egypt are Christians, despite the fact that Christians constitute about only 10 percent of the population.

Islamists have also increasingly targeted Christian churches, homes, and businesses, in addition to abducting Christians for ransom or conversion to Islam.

‘In only one province (El-Minia), its Coptic bishop recently revealed that between June 30 and the present time, he recorded 90 kidnap cases of Copts, some of whom have been killed even after their families paid the demanded ransom,’ Halim Meawad—the Egyptian-born co-founder of Coptic Solidarity, a U.S.-based international Coptic Christian human rights organization — recently told JNS.org.

In a wave of violence last August, the Muslim Brotherhood and its supporters attacked more than 200 churches, Christian businesses, and private homes, leaving at least seven Christians killed and hundreds injured.” Source – JNS.

Indonesia: Muslim Mob Attacks Yet Another Christian Church … For Not Having Building Permit

The Jakarta Post – “On the anniversary of the introduction of the state ideology Pancasila on June 1, an act of intolerance occurred in Yogyakarta as residents and members of Ormas (mass organizations) attacked a Pentecostal church in Pangukan, Sleman regency, on Sunday.

The group stoned the church, which had been vacated by its congregation after Sunday Service, destroying the building’s glass windows.

Police and military officers were powerless to stop the violent act. The regency’s public order officers installed zinc fences after the police inspected the area.

Turmudzi, board member from the Islamic study group, Majelis Ta’lim Al Huda said that local residents, along with members of the Islamic Jihad Front (FJI) and Islamic People’s Forum (FUI) were responsible for damaging the church.

‘The reason is not related to worship. We attacked the church because it has no building permit,’ Turmudzi, who suffered injuries to his hands after stoning the church, claimed.

Separately, Sleman Deputy Regent Yuni Satya Rahayu admitted that the administration had not granted a building permit to the church, saying that the church board faked signatures of local residents to fulfill the requirements of the permit.

‘The development of the church has been problematic since the beginning. Rev. Nico Lomboan was not fair to the local people, whom he wanted to build the church,’ Yuni told The Jakarta Post on Sunday.

She said Sunday’s incident was the third such act since the construction of the church began, before the administration sealed the building in 2012.

Nico and members of the church’s congregation could not be reached for comment on Sunday.

This is not the first time that the FJI has been implicated in religious-based violence in Yogyakarta. On March 30, the group’s members reportedly attacked the Kemah Injil Indonesia (GKII) church in Girisubo district, Gunungkidul
regency.

California: Earthquakes Are Increasing, But Scientists Aren’t Sure What It Means

By Rong-Gong Lin II, LA Times – “No, it’s not your imagination: The Los Angeles area is feeling more earthquakes this year.

After a relatively quiet period of seismic activity in the Los Angeles area, the last five months have been marked by five earthquakes larger than 4.0. That hasn’t occurred since 1994, the year of the destructive Northridge earthquake that produced 53 such temblors.

Over the next two decades, there were some years that passed without a single quake 4.0 or greater.

Earthquake experts said 2014 is clearly a year of increased seismic activity, but they said it’s hard to know whether the recent string of quakes suggests that a larger one is on the way.

‘Probably this will be it, and there won’t be any more 4s. But the chance we will have a bigger earthquake this year is more than if we hadn’t had this cluster,’ U.S. Geological Survey seismologist Lucy Jones said. ‘Every earthquake makes another earthquake more likely.’

Quakes in the magnitude 4 range are large enough to be felt over wide areas but generally too small to cause much damage. The largest this year was a magnitude 5.1 in La Habra, which caused several million dollars in damage. Others hit Fontana and Rowland Heights.

But scientists are particularly intrigued by the other two quakes, which were centered along the 405 Freeway under the Santa Monica Mountains.

In addition to a 4.4 quake March 17 in Encino and Sunday’s 4.2 temblor a few miles away in Brentwood, 15 earthquakes between magnitude 1.0 and 2.5 hit between January and March in the Santa Monica Mountains near Wilacre Park.

Syria: Muslim Rebels Shoot Dead 102-Year-Old Man And His Entire Family

By Elad Benarim INN – “In the latest act of cruelty, the most radical jihadist group fighting in Syria on Sunday killed a 102-year-old man along with his whole family, a monitoring group told AFP.

The 102-year-old was shot dead in his sleep by jihadist rebels from the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIS).

The rebels also killed the man’s son, his grandson, his great-granddaughter and her mother, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights told the news agency.

All the victims were Alawites, members of the same offshoot of Shiite Islam as Syria’s President Bashar Al-Assad.

ISIS killed the family while attacking Zanuba village in Hama, said the Observatory.

‘Some members of the family were burned alive, others killed in their sleep,’ it added.

Since joining the civil war in Syria, ISIS has been accused of torturing and murdering prisoners, among them children and teenagers, and forcing Druze men to convert to Islam or die.

In one case, members of the group beheaded a person they said was a member of an Iraqi Shiite militia fighting for Assad, only to discover they had accidentally beheaded a fighter belonging to an allied rebel group.

In March, the group live-tweeted the amputation of a hand of a man charged with theft in the northern province of Aleppo.

The group also carries out frequent public executions, with some victims reportedly crucified in Raqa.” Read more .

Negotiating With Terrorists: Obama Illegally Trades 5 Violent Taliban Prisoners For Taliban-Sympathizing “POW”

Catch and release? Obama should have been a sports fisherman, not a sitting President. Or maybe his new sport is trying to kill two birds with one stone. On one hand, negotiating with terrorists may be his own first step towards closing Guantanamo Bay as promised. This is woefully myopic and establishes a damaging precedent for other Islamic terrorists. On the other, the media is no longer focused on the embarrassing vet scandal (among others) plaguing this Administration, at least temporarily. Be that as it may, you’d think that even the Obama White House understood that a “Prisoner of War” was someone who had done all they can to avoid enemy capture yet ended up captured against their will in the field of war anyway. As reports suggest, however, Sgt. Bowe Berghdal — disillusioned with the Afghan war, the US military and even America itself — was a deserter who may have wanted to be “captured” by the Taliban. Why do I get the distinct impression that this “POW” could one day end up rejoining his Taliban “captors” if given the opportunity? …

Bergdahl had also changed his name to Abdullah, the Taliban claimed, though the mainstream media largely ignored the story, seeing it as comparable to the tale of Sgt. Brody in the fictional Homeland television series on Showtime.

The U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) also dismissed the claims, insinuating that it was jihadist propaganda. But in the aftermath of Sgt. Bergdahl’s release yesterday, more information has come to light, raising further questions as to whether the Taliban had in fact been telling the truth about Sgt. Bergdahl.

The circumstances behind the sergeant’s disappearance and kidnapping remains suspect. Why he seemingly walked off of his forward operating base in 2009, an infringement upon basic standard operating procedures, has not been explained.

Lt. Col Allen West noted that there is no precedent for the Taliban detaining American soldiers: ‘Our troops are brutally, ritually, and savagely murdered — to include American security contractors (remember the Fallujah bridge) — not held for five years’, he said.

The reports that Bowe has had ‘trouble speaking English’ may seem confusing at the surface, especially since English is his native language and he has been seen on video over the past few years speaking the language without issue.

In his Saturday press conference with President Obama, Sgt. Bergdahl’s father, Robert Bergdahl, initially spoke in Arabic, the language of the Koran, in a message to his son: ‘In the name of Allah, the most gracious, the most merciful.’

The message insinuates that Sgt. Bergdahl decided to learn the language of the Islamic texts. Only a handful of Afghanistan’s 31 million people understand Arabic, and the official languages of the country are Pashto and Dari.

Robert Bergdahl’s (Bowe’s father) behavior seems to point to the possibility that he also may have converted to Islam and has embraced radical elements.

In May of 2011, Bob Bergdahl released a video that pleaded for his son’s release. He said, ‘Strangely, to some, we must also thank those (Taliban) who have cared for our son for almost 2 years… We understand the rationale of the Islamic Emirate (Taliban) has made through videos.’ The reference to the Taliban as the ‘Islamic Emirate’ is, by way of prior evidence, the preserve of sympathisers.” Read more.

Ismail Jabbar, 22, was yesterday revealed as a fighter with the extremist cell ‘Unit Bin Laden’ in Aleppo, where he brags about killing non-Muslims and incites other Briton’s to join his jihad.

He is believed to have lived with his parents in Hayes, Middlesex, until nine months ago, when he was able to travel to Syria under the guise of working for an aid convoy.

Operating under a pseudonym, Mr Jabbar now regularly encourages British Muslim to travel to Syria or replicate the brutal ‘lone wolf’ attack carried out on Drummer Lee Rigby last year.

In online activity this month, he has offered advice for British extremists wanting to fight in Syria, incited fellow Muslims to “rob the enemies of allah and kill them” and bragged of links with Pakistan and Afghanistan.

Graphic photographs of mutilated body parts and candid pictures of corpses in military uniform were also found on a Twitter account linked to the self-styled terrorist.” Read more.

The politically correct fearfulness that they will be condemned as unfashionable and Islamophobic — and perhaps sued and bombed by defenders of the ‘religion of peace,’ — has turned them overly cautious and even cowardly.

Not all Muslims are terrorists; many are the first victims of Islamism. Many Muslims and ex-Muslims have risked their lives and limbs to protest Muslim-on-Muslim and Muslim-men-on-Muslim-women atrocities.

Nevertheless, while all Muslims are not terrorists, most terrorists today are Muslims who a) are practicing their own versions of 7th century Islam and have instituted Sharia as sovereign law in their nations; b) have ‘hijacked’ what could, if reformed, become a modern and more tolerant religion; c) are totalitarian madmen who mean to terrify and subordinate large populations and indoctrinate impoverished male children and young men as well as women to take up arms and perform martyrdom operations in a Holy War against the Infidels in order to establish a global Caliphate; d) are radical fundamentalist extremists, no different than other fundamental extremists.

In the first five months of 2014, Muslim terrorist attacks have been launched in 36 countries: Afghanistan, Algeria, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Cameroon, Central African Republic (CAR), Chechnya, China, Dagestan, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Djibouti, Egypt, Ghana, India, Iraq, Iran, Israel, Jordan, Kenya, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Libya, Nigeria, Pakistan, the Philippines, Russia, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Tanzania, Thailand, Tunisia, Turkey, Turkmenistan, the United States, and Yemen.

However, if you read The New York Times you will not have this perspective. You will have been informed, day after day, that Israel is a genocidal, apartheid state — not that Sudan, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Iran, and Afghanistan are; that Muslims are being persecuted, falsely accused, singled out in hate crimes and entrapped by the police to report on mosque activities both in Europe and in the United States; that individual acts of terrorism aka ‘Sudden Jihad Syndrome’ are always the acts of lone madmen and must be classified as ‘workplace violence as was Dr. Nidal Hassan’s massacre at Ft Hood;’ that conservative Christians are even greater terrorist threats than Muslims are.

Iran: Ayatollah Khamenei Calls For Destruction Of America, Jihad Against The Whole World

By Majid Rafizadeh, FrontPage Mag – “The West and mainstream media have made significant efforts to paint a moderate picture of the Iranian regime, with amiable sentiments towards Western and American values.

Nevertheless, on Sunday, Iran’s most powerful political and religious figure, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, reiterated the Islamic Republic’s real intentions towards the West and particularly the United States during a speech he delivered to the Majlis — the Iranian parliament in Tehran.  He called the fight against the United States as a great and ongoing jihad.

When a parliamentarian and lawmaker loyal to the regime asked the Supreme Leader how long the nation should carry the jihad against the United States, he responded:

Battle and jihad are endless because evil and its front continue to exist… This battle will only end when the society can get rid of the oppressors’ front with America at the head of it, which has expanded its claws on human mind, body and thought… This requires a difficult and lengthy struggle and need for great strides.

From Khamenei’s perspective, the nation should follow this sixth pillar of Islam for Allah’s sake. The end of this jihad for the Iranian regime occurs when his loyalist Muslims wipe out their opposition. Many Western politicians, particularly in the Obama administration, seem to have a benevolent view of the Iranian regime and its president Hassan Rouhani.

Any scholar or policy maker who has closely studied the Islamic Republic of Iran and its ideological and geopolitical foundations is cognizant of the fact that the key principle upon which the Islamic Republic rules is its Jihad— and opposition to the United States as well as Israel. The founding father of the Islamic Revolution of Iran, Ayatollah Khomeini said, it ‘is the established principle of Islamic nations and countries who, with the help of Allah, will accept Islam as the only ideology leading to salvation – and they will not go back from this principle in the least.’

He added, ‘in our domestic and foreign policy […] we have set as our goal the world-wide spread of the influence of Islam… We wish to cause the corrupt roots of Zionism, capitalism and Communism to wither throughout the world. We wish, as does God almighty, to destroy the systems which are based on these three foundations, and to promote the Islamic order of the Prophet.’

The fact is that the Islamic Republic of Iran is centered on this Jihadist and anti-American principle that Ayatollah Khomeini established, and his followers like Ayatollah Khamenei want to carry out these goals. The Iranian regime and its Supreme Leader derive power and legitimacy from this antagonism towards America and from pursuing this Jihad (which requires eliminating America, and other countries such as Israel from the earth). If the Iranian regime changed this fundamental organizing principle, it would not be able to yield power from its loyalists, constituents, and define itself as the “Islamic Republic of Iran.”

In other words, Jihad against America is in the roots of the Iranian regime’s ideological and political underpinnings.

Khamenei clearly stated that aggressiveness is required to pursue this Jihad, get rid of America, and achieve Allah’s will, and higher Islamic values and platforms.

Precursor To Armageddon? Turkish Gov’t Completely Cuts Off Euphrates Water Supply, May Bring “Unprecedented Catastrophes” To Region

By Suhaib Anjarini, Al-Alakhbar – “Two weeks ago, the Turkish government once again intervened in the Syrian crisis. This time was different from anything it had attempted before and the repercussions of which may bring unprecedented catastrophes onto both Iraq and Syria.

Violating international norms, the Turkish government recently cut off the water supply of the Euphrates River completely. In fact, Ankara began to gradually reduce pumping Euphrates water about a month and half ago, then cut if off completely two weeks ago, according to information received by Al-Akhbar.

A source who spoke on the condition of anonymity revealed that water levels in the Lake Assad (a man-made water reservoir on the Euphrates) recently dropped by six meters from its normal levels (which means losing millions of cubic meters of water). The source warned that ‘a further drop of one additional meter would put the dam out of service.’

‘We should cut off or reduce the water output of the dam, until the original problem regarding the blockage of the water supply is fixed,’ the source explained.

The Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) controlling the region the dam is located in did not suspend the water output. Employees of the General Institution of the Euphrates Dam are running the lake under the supervision of al-Qaeda linked ISIS, but they don’t have the authority to take serious decisions, such as reducing the water output. In addition, such a step is a mere attempt to ease the situation, and it will lose its efficacy if the water supply isn’t restored to the dam by Turkey.

The tragic repercussions of the new Turkish assault began to reveal themselves when water levels dropped in al-Khafsa in Aleppo’s eastern countryside (where a water pumping station from Lake Assad is located to pump water through water channels to Aleppo and its countryside).

Meanwhile, water supplies in auxiliary reservoirs in al-Khafsa are close to being depleted and the reservoirs are expected to run out of water completely by tonight or tomorrow morning at the latest. This threatens to leave seven million Syrians without access to water. Also, Tishrin Dam stopped receiving any water which blocked its electricity generating turbines, decreasing the power supply in Aleppo and its countryside, further intensifying the already severe imbalance in the power supply.

In Raqqa, the northern side of Lake Assad is today completely out of service. Two million Syrians living in the region covering the villages of Little Swaydiya to the east until al-Jarniya to the west could lose their drinking water supply. ‘Losing water supplies in the dam means that the silt in the lake will dry off which would pressure its structure, subjecting it to fissures and eventually total collapse,’ Al-Akhbar sources warned, adding ‘it is crucial to shut down the dam to stop its collapse.’

However, shutting down the dam (if ISIS agrees) will only lead to a human and ecological (zoological and agricultural) catastrophe in Syria and in Iraq.” Read more.

Ireland: Christian Pastor Speaking Truth About Islam Is Investigated By Police For “Hate Mongering”

Christian News Network – “A 75-year-old Irish preacher was subjected to a police probe after he condemned Islam in a sermon and was accused of ‘hate mongering.’

James McConnell, pastor of the Whitewell Metropolitan Church in North Belfast, Ireland, discussed the religion of Islam during an evening sermon on Sunday, May 18th. During the sermon, McConnell denounced Islam and said the contrast between it and Christianity is stark.

‘The God we worship and serve this evening is not Allah,’ he proclaimed, according to a video of his sermon. ‘The Muslim god—Allah—is a heathen deity. Allah is a cruel deity. Allah is a demon deity.’

McConnell then criticized the ‘foolish’ British government for attempting to appease Muslims financially, saying Islam is ‘a doctrine spawned in hell.’ He also noted that Christians around the world are persecuted for their faith by the ‘fanatical worshipers’ of Allah.

According to the Belfast Telegraph, McConnell’s remarks were inspired by the current plight of Meriam Ibrahim—a professing Orthodox Christian woman in Sudan. As previously reported, Ibrahim was sentenced to hang after she was convicted of apostasy for refusing to deny her faith and convert to Islam.

Following McConnell’s May 18th sermon, the Police Service of Northern Ireland investigated the preacher for allegations of hate crime. Northern Ireland’s Deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness described the preacher’s comments as ‘hate mongering’ and said the anti-Muslim statements ‘must be condemned in the strongest possible terms.'” Read more.
