Middle East Eye – “Turkey has issued arrest warrants for genocide against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and senior officials in his government over the war on Gaza.
The Istanbul chief public prosecutor’s office on Friday announced arrest orders for 37 senior Israeli officials, including Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz, National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir and army chief Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir.
The officials are accused of committing genocide and crimes against humanity in Gaza, as well as ordering attacks on the Global Sumud Flotilla, which was carrying humanitarian aid to the blockaded enclave.
Israel condemned the move, with Foreign Minister Gideon Saar saying it ‘firmly rejects, with contempt’ the charges, and calling them ‘the latest PR stunt by [Turkish President Recep Tayyip] Erdogan’.

Rome Reports – “According to a report by Aid to the Church in Need, jihadist terrorism is increasing on an unprecedented scale and is one of the main reasons for the persecution and death of Christians around the world. Its growth in the Sahel region is cause for concern where local authorities have lost power to fundamentalists in recent years. On the other hand, radicals are also on the rise in places such as Pakistan, Mozambique and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Their main victims are other Muslims and minorities including many Christians. And the West is not immune to these attacks either. According to the report, in 2023, France recorded nearly a thousand attacks on churches and Greece more than 600 acts of vandalism in places of worship. And the situation is getting worse. The report claims that more than 5.4 billion people live in countries where serious religious freedom violations take place. Aid to the Church in Need publishes a report annually in which it analyzes the situation in 196 countries and concludes that serious violations of religious freedom are committed in 62 of them.”
