Mass Fish Kill Discovered in Presque Isle State Park, Indiana
“ERIE, Pa. — A state environmental biologist says a large fish kill along the shores of Presque Isle State Park in Erie is “natural” and “no cause for alarm.”
People walking along the shore of the park’s Misery Bay noticed large numbers of dead fish Tuesday and alerted authorities.
Jim Grazio, a Great Lakes biologist, tells the Erie Times-News that 99 percent of the dead fish were gizzard shad. The fish is a freshwater herring that is very sensitive to cold temperatures and temperature changes.
Grazio, who works for the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection, says the fish began dying in January but they were hidden by ice on the lake. The cold temperatures also slowed the decomposition of the fish, which became visible and washed ashore as the ice melted.” Source.
Dozens of Musk Oxen Found Dead Near Bering Strait
“The National Park Service says 32 musk oxen were found dead and frozen into ice on the northern coast of the Seward Peninsula after a flood last week. The deaths were discovered during a March 15 flight to track four radio-collared oxen in the herd.
Park Service officials say the Bering Land Bridge National Preserve herd included 55 animals when it was last seen on Feb. 14, and that the other animals could be submerged in the ice. A Feb. 25 winter storm generated a tidal surge and coastal flooding that rapidly inundated low-lying areas.
The musk oxen were tagged as part of a five-year study of the animals’ population dynamics in northwest Alaska.
The flooding and deaths are being investigated by the Park Service, which is also leading an effort to minimize conflicts between wildlife drawn to the area and local communities. Officials say the removal of musk ox horns from federal parklands is illegal, and that the dead animals’ meat is likely neither salvageable nor palatable.” Source.
Bomb Explodes Near Jerusalem Bus, 1 Dead, 39 Injured
“One woman died and 39 were injured after an explosion took place near a bus in central Jerusalem Wednesday afternoon.
Police said that a bomb exploded outside Egged bus number 74 at a station opposite the Jerusalem Conference Center (Binyanei Ha’uma) in the center of town.
Thirty-nine people were injured in the attack. Three were injured seriously from the explosion itself, four moderately from shrapnel packed into the explosive device and the remainder in moderate to light condition.
The 31 injured were taken to Hadassah Ein Kerem, Hadassah Mount Scopus, Bikur Holim and Shaare Tzedek hospitals. All hospitals in the area were opened to receive casualties. One woman, 59, died from injuries sustained in the blast.
Police said that this was the first terrorist attack in four years that involved an explosion.” Read more.
Islamists Fire Rockets Deep Into Israel, Members of Israeli Cabinet Call For War
“Palestinian rockets struck two cities deep in Israel on Wednesday, wounding a resident and prompting Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to threaten lengthy “exchanges of blows” with the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip.
Islamic Jihad, a smaller Gaza faction and occasional Hamas ally, claimed responsibility for the attacks on Beersheba and Ashdod.
They followed Israeli air strikes and shelling in the Gaza Strip on Tuesday that killed four Palestinian civilians, including three children playing football, and five militants, medical officials said.
Netanyahu, who voiced regret for Tuesday’s civilian deaths and said Israel sought no escalation, took a tougher tone after some members of his cabinet mooted a wider offensive on Gaza.
Israel’s three-week war in the impoverished coastal enclave in 2009 killed about 1,400 Palestinians, drawing heavy international censure. Hamas had mostly held fire since.
‘No country would be prepared to absorb protracted missile fire on its cities and civilians, and of course the State of Israel is not prepared to,’ Netanyahu said in parliament.” Read more.
Geologists: Another Earthquake Could Tear Tokyo In Two After Weakening of Fault Line Below Capital
“Geologists have warned that another powerful earthquake could inflict terrible damage on Tokyo because the Size 9 monster which struck on March 11 has altered the earth’s surface.
The quake has put pressure on the fault lines near the Japanese capital and experts have suggested that a size 7.5 magnitude earthquake could hit.
The structure of the tectonic plates and fault lines around the city makes it unlikely that Tokyo, home to 13million people, would be hit by a quake anywhere near the intensity of the one 10 days ago, said Roger Musson of the British Geological Survey.
But given the vast population – the capital and its surroundings are home to 39million people (including in the suburbs) – any strong tremor could be devastating.” Read more.
High Radiation Levels Fuels Fears Over Japanese Fish
“High radiation levels have been found in the sea off Japan’s earthquake-stricken nuclear power plant, fuelling fears about the impact on the nation’s fishing industry.
Operator Tokyo Electric Power said unusual amounts of five kinds of radioactive material had been found in water samples near the Fukushima Daiichi plant. One of the substances, Iodine-131, was found at nearly 127 times the permitted level.
Officials said there was no immediate threat to human health from the apparent contamination of the water by radiation leaking from the power station, which had its cooling systems knocked out by an earthquake and tsunami on March 11.
But the discovery is a blow to the fishing industry, heightening concerns about the implications of the atomic crisis for food safety.” Read more.
Iran Orders Suicide Attacks on Saudi Interests Worldwide
This is only the beginning, and I believe John tells us how this ultimately ends:
Revelation 17:16-17, “And the ten horns which you saw on the beast, these will hate the harlot, make her desolate and naked, eat her flesh and burn her with fire. For God has put it into their hearts to fulfill His purpose, to be of one mind, and to give their kingdom to the beast, until the words of God are fulfilled.”
“The Iranian leaders, furious over the Saudi intervention in Bahrain and what they call crimes against the Shiites of that country, have openly created centers to recruit volunteers for suicide bombings against Saudi Arabia’s interests worldwide:
Several grand ayatollahs in Iran have issued a fatwa for Muslims to come to the aid of their Shiite brothers in Bahrain, who they claim are suffering horrific crimes from their government in collaboration with the Saudi armed forces. They further emphasized that the people of Bahrain have every right to demand freedom and their fair share from the state.
Shia-News, a site associated with Ayatollah Mesbah Yazdi (a hard-line Shiite Twelver and an influential figure in the suppression of Iranians during their uprising to protest the fraudulent presidential election of 2009), is registering volunteers to participate in suicide bombings against Saudi interests around the world. Hundreds have already registered. Reports from inside Iran indicate that an alert has gone out to the Revolutionary Guards Quds forces throughout the world to prepare for attacks on Saudi establishments. Read more…
Egypt: Muslim Brotherhood 1, Reformers 0
“Egyptians by a margin of 77 per cent voted in favour of changes to the constitution of 1951. However, Sharia will remain the principal source of Egyptian law. The result is a major disappointment for many of the young people who took part in the Jasmine Revolution who had hope to give the country a fresh new look based on equal rights for all its citizens irrespective of religious creed.
Sources told AsiaNews that the referendum was marred by fraud and manipulation by Muslim extremists. ‘This vote was oriented along confession lines. The Muslim Brotherhood said that those who voted ‘Yes’ were for Islam and against Christians who wanted to remove Sharia as the source of law,’ a source said.
Eyewitnesses also said that they saw vote rigging and vote buying. In the poorest neighbourhoods, extremists handed out bags of flower, meat and oil to ‘Yes’ voters.
EUHRO, an election monitoring NGO, also reported cases of discrimination against members of the Coptic community. In many polling stations, Christian and Muslim voters were required to cast their ballots in separate boxes. In some predominantly Coptic areas, voting was delayed and many voters were unable to vote.” Read more.
‘The Jihad Begins Today’: Student Threatens to Murder Students, University Ignores It
Needless to say, if an ‘infidel’ had made similar threats a SWAT team would have been all over them in minutes …
FOX News – “Montreal police are investigating a student who made threats against a conservative club at McGill University, even though university officials determined the student’s threats about jihad and wanting to ‘shoot everyone in the room’ were harmless.
A spokesman for the Montreal Police Service told the Toronto Star they take the threat allegedly made by Haaris Khan seriously.
Khan attended a viewing of the documentary ‘Indoctrinate-U,’ sponsored by Conservative McGill, a student organization affiliated with Canada’s Conservative Party. During the viewing, Khan is accused of making death treats using his Twitter account.
‘I should have brought an M16,’ he allegedly wrote. ‘I’m watching a Zionist/Conservative propaganda film at a secret Zionist convention, in case anyone’s confused.’
‘Indoctrinate-U’ is a documentary exposing political correctness on university and college campuses. It explores free speech issues on campuses and how schools sometimes punish people for what the filmmaker calls ‘mild speech.’
‘My blood is boiling,’ Khan allegedly tweeted. ‘I want to shoot everyone in this room.’
The following day, he allegedly tweeted, ‘The jihad begins today.’ Read more…
Islamic Radicals in Indonesia Sending Mail Bombs to Security Officials and Christians
“Radical Muslim groups are thought to be behind mail bombs recently delivered to prominent figures and security officials, including Christians, in various places in Indonesia. Human rights activists and ordinary Indonesians are sounding the alarm, warning the country is slowing turning into a Pakistan-style ‘Islamised’ state in which extremist movements sow terror to gain power.
Although the authorities have not made any public statement on the matter, many believe that extremist groups are behind a recent spate of attacks involving books containing explosive sent by mail. Inspector Ansyaas Mbai, head of the anti-terror department, blames radical Islamic movements, like Jemaah Islamiyah, the Islamic State of Indonesia and the Mujahedeen Kompak.” Read more.
Convert from Islam Escapes Egypt with Daughter
“When the plane carrying Maher El-Gohary and his daughter, Dina Mo’otahssem, took off from Cairo International Airport last month, they both wept with joy. After spending two-and-a-half years in hiding for leaving Islam to become Christians, they were elated by their newfound freedom.
They also felt secure that once they arrived in Syria, they would quickly obtain visas to the United States and start a new life. That hope soon proved unfounded.
After spending more than a week and a half unable to obtain a visa to the United States or to any country in Europe, they realized they may have traded in the reality of being prisoners in their own country for being refugees in another. And as El-Gohary watches the weeks pass and his resources dwindle, he said the stress is almost unbearable.
‘I feel like we’ve stepped out of a prison cell and into a fire,” he said. “We are in very, very bad conditions … My daughter and I divide the bottles of water to live, because there is no income.’
Maher Ahmad El-Mo’otahssem Bellah El-Gohary, 58, gained notoriety in Egypt after he sued the government in August 2008 to gain the right to change the religion listed on his state-issued ID card from Islam to Christianity. In Egypt, ID cards play a critical role in a person’s life, being used for everything from opening a bank account and renting an apartment to receiving medical care.” Read more.
Christians Working in Saudi Arabia Thrown in Prison, Beaten

“International Christian Concern (ICC) has learned that two Indian Christians working in Saudi Arabia have been arrested in Batha, Riyadh, and sentenced to 45 days in prison.
On March 11, 2010, at 8:30 PM local time, Vasantha Sekhar and Nese Yohan were arrested and beaten. They were accused of proselytizing. ICC contacts in Saudi Arabia believe they were arrested to keep them from practicing Christianity privately in their home.
While in prison awaiting trial, their apartment was ransacked. They face uncertainty regarding their future. An employer has returned the passport of one of the Christians, making it clear that his job is no longer available, and he will be expelled. The other Christian awaits information regarding his legal status and job.
Saudi Arabia has a long history of quietly cracking down on Christians.
