Video Shows Egyptian Army Personnel Attacking Christian Demonstrators

If Muslims demonstrate, leave them alone.  If Christians demonstrate, ATTACK!

“Coptic protesters who were in front of the TV building in Maspero, waiting for the curfew to end to go home, came under attack from the Egyptian Army, after Coptic representatives agreed yesterday to suspend their 9-day sit-in until March 25. The army also attempted to assault Father Filopareer Gamil, one of the leaders of the sit- in, but Coptic protesters shielded him with their bodies.

Father Filopateer said that a Coptic demonstration is gathering in front of the hospital where the wounded have been transferred. ‘An army official came to the hospital to pacify the Coptic youth but they refused to meet with him and are demanding an investigation by the military.’

According to Dr. Gameel Ebeid of the Coptic hospital in Cairo where some of the wounded demonstrators are under medical treatment, 15 Copts have broken limbs, head wounds as well as burns from electrified batons. He said the patients told him that they had agreed with the army to evacuate the area in front of the TV building at 6 AM after the end of the curfew and after cleaning up after yesterday’s demonstration. ‘Suddenly at 3:45 AM they were attacked heavily by the army unit present at the TV building. The youth started running and those who were caught were stripped of their mobile phones so as not to take photos, and their personal belongings were confiscated. I personally saw 15 patients, 14 of them had their feet broken, wounds in the head and were nearly unconscious from being beaten with electrified batons. One protester underwent an operation to put an implant in his arm.'”  Read more.

Islamic Extremists Up Persecution of Christians in Ethiopia

“Christians in the Jima province in western Ethiopia are seeing their region ravaged by Islamic extremists who have killed one Christian, burned down dozens of churches, a Bible school and an orphanage, and destroyed 50 homes belonging to believers.

International Christian Concern reports that the attacks began March 2 after Islamic extremists blamed believers for desecrating the Quran — an action that Jonathan Racho, regional manager for Africa with ICC, says was actually done by Muslims.

‘They are using force in order to ascertain their presence in the country,’ Racho said. ‘The Islamists in Ethiopia believe that they should not be ruled by the government which is dominated by people from a Christian background. The radical Muslims are saying they can only live in a country where sharia law is implemented, and that’s why they are organizing this kind of violence in order to destabilize the country.’

The attacks, which have spread to neighboring villages, have claimed 55 Christian churches and have left 3,000 people homeless. The Ethiopian government has deployed the military to prevent further attacks. In 2006, Muslims attacked Christians in the region, killing dozens and razing churches in the process.”  Source.

Chinese Drought Could Cause Global Food Crisis

“A world kept busy lately watching, first, the revolts in the Middle East, and now, the tragic aftermath of the tsunami in Japan, should keep an eye too on the weather in China, where widespread drought may soon make the emerging global crisis over rising food prices much worse worldwide.

The worst drought in sixty years is threatening the wheat crop in China, the world’s largest wheat producer. Traditionally self-sufficient in grain, the Chinese may be compelled to tap some of their $2.85 trillion in foreign exchange reserves to import wheat to feed their hungry people. This could further roil an already restive world by driving up food prices in many poorer countries that rely of necessity on increasingly costly imported food.

Many in those countries are already desperate for grain. World food prices are at record highs. The soaring price of food is placing millions at risk of malnutrition and hunger, and is stoking social and economic instability worldwide. As with the French Revolution in 1789, the unfolding Arab revolutions of 2011 have been inspired in part by the rising price of bread.”  Read more.

Food Prices See Biggest Soar in Nearly 40 Years

“Wholesale prices jumped last month by the most in nearly two years due to higher energy costs and the steepest rise in food prices in 36 years. Excluding those volatile categories, inflation was tame.

The Labor Department said Wednesday that the Producer Price Index rose a seasonally adjusted 1.6 percent in February — double the 0.8 percent rise in the previous month. Outside of food and energy costs, the core index ticked up 0.2 percent, less than January’s 0.5 percent rise.

Food prices soared 3.9 percent last month, the biggest gain since November 1974. Most of that increase was due to a sharp rise in vegetable costs, which increased nearly 50 percent. That was the most in almost a year. Meat and dairy products also rose.”  Read more.

How Islamists Could Cripple U.S. Sea Power

03/16/2011 Leave a comment

“Clouds are forming that could become a perfect storm destructive to America’s power and influence. Historically, America made decisions that led to its economic and military ascendancy. Today, America’s decisions are shifting her economic and military strengths to other nations, including potential enemies. As expected, that power flows to those countries that act logically in their own self-interest, pursuing objectives to which they are totally committed. While America appears to be non-committal to its own interests, this storm has at least seven indicators converging on the nation:

  1. potential threats to the U.S. Navy’s ability to keep sea lanes open for commerce
  2. Turkey’s increasing military and economic power
  3. the Turkish government’s shift from secular to Islamist
  4. Muslim countries’ physical proximity to strategic sea lanes
  5. the naïve belief of the West that the institution of democracy will curb Islamic aggression
  6. Islamists’ belief that world domination is destined by Allah, and
  7. America’s huge budgetary deficits and crippling debt

Should this storm form, it imperils America’s influence in foreign relations as well as national security.”  Read more.

Will A Nuclear Caliphate Rise From Unrest In The Mideast?

“With the Muslim world reaching a boiling point, U.S. intelligence fears that the unrest could create a power vacuum exploited by al-Qaida and its parent, the radical Muslim Brotherhood.

Both share a goal of bringing the Mideast under a single Islamic ruler, who could control world oil supplies and possibly even nuclear weapons.

The Obama administration finds the idea of such a ‘caliphate’ preposterous. It isn’t even concerned about the prospect of Islamist regimes emerging from the revolts. Many of the Mideast protesters are ‘secular,’ the White House believes.

Deputy National Security Adviser Denis McDonough called it a ‘lie’ that Muslims want a universal Islamic state. “People across the Arab world are proving the point,” he said, by calling for free elections.

Still, 61% of Americans believe the emergence of an Islamic caliphate is “likely” in the next 10 years, according to the latest IBD/TIPP poll, and intelligence officials say the call for a caliphate, while once fringe, has developed over the past few years into a global movement spanning many Muslim countries.

The University of Maryland recently surveyed Muslims in Indonesia, as well as Egypt, Pakistan and Morocco, and found that 77% agree with al-Qaida’s quest to ‘unify all Islamic countries into a single Islamic state.'”  Read more.

March’s Seismic Window: Does This ‘Perfect Storm’ Point to a California Quake Next?

Jim Berkland, a geologist who predicted the 1989 “World Series” quake, says that a “seismic window” coming up around March 19th may be pointing to the possiblity that California, or even Mexico, could soon experience their own big event.

‘They’ve Lost Control’: French Claim Japan is Hiding Full Scale of Nuclear Disaster as TWO More Reactors Heat Up

03/16/2011 Leave a comment
“Japan’s stricken nuclear power plant was abandoned for hours today, as soaring radiation forced emergency workers to flee for their lives and authorities were reduced to spraying reactors with police water cannons.

All 50 emergency workers who had been fighting to keep overheating reactors cool were this morning pulled back 500 yards from the complex as radiation levels became too dangerous.

And in an extraordinary attack, the French government accused the Japanese of losing control of the situation and hiding the full scale of the disaster.

Military helicopters made a failed attempt to drop water on the reactors from above, amid desperate efforts to cool nuclear fuel. The helicopter missions are said to have failed because radiation levels put the crews in danger. Police water cannons usually used in riot control were even requested to spray the site.”  Read more.

Japan Suspends Work at Stricken Nuclear Plant

“FUKUSHIMA, Japan – Japan suspended operations to keep its stricken nuclear plant from melting down Wednesday after surging radiation made it too dangerous to stay.

Chief Cabinet Secretary Yukio Edano said the workers dousing the reactors in a frantic effort to cool them needed to withdraw.

‘The workers cannot carry out even minimal work at the plant now,’ Edano said. ‘Because of the radiation risk we are on standby,’ he said.

The nuclear crisis has triggered international alarm and partly overshadowed the human tragedy caused by Friday’s earthquake and tsunami, which pulverized Japan’s northeastern coastline, killing an estimated 10,000 people and severely damaging the nuclear plant.

Since then authorities have tried frantically to avert an environmental catastrophe at the Fukushima Dai-ichi complex in northeastern Japan, 170 miles (270 kilometers) north Tokyo.

Edano said the government expects to ask the U.S. military for help. He did not elaborate. He said the government is still considering whether and how to take up the various offers of help from other countries.”  Read more.

Will the trend continue?  Mark 13:7-8, “When you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be earthquakes in various places, and famines. These are the beginning of birth pains.”
