Putin Likens U.N. Libya Resolution to Crusade Calls

03/21/2011 Leave a comment

Way to go, Putin.  Calling it a “Crusade” will serve to do nothing but incite the Arab world, giving them yet another reason to hate the West.  Completely irresponsible.

“OTKINSK, Russia (Reuters) – Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin Monday likened the U.N. Security Council resolution supporting military action in Libya to medieval calls for crusades.

Putin, in the first major remarks from a Russian leader since a coalition of Western countries began air strikes in Libya, said that Muammar Gaddafi’s government fell short of democracy but added that did not justify military intervention.

‘The resolution is defective and flawed,’ Putin told workers at a Russian ballistic missile factory. ‘It allows everything. It resembles medieval calls for crusades.’

Putin said that interference in other countries’ internal affairs has become a trend in U.S. foreign policy and that the events in Libya indicated that Russia should strengthen its own defense capabilities.

Russia, a veto-wielding permanent Security Council member, abstained from the vote Thursday in which the council authorized a no-fly zone over Libya and ‘all necessary measures’ to protect civilians against Gaddafi’s forces.”  Source.

Christian Persecution: A Choice Between Shame and War?

“As world events are reported, another tragedy that rarely makes the headlines is happening and has been for several years, which our media on the right, left and Christian will not report and inform the people of the Western world. The foundation for another genocidal holocaust is taking hold in the Middle East and Asia with the Nazi style persecution of Christians, along with a developing nuclear Middle East; these are major warning signs of a worse upheaval and even world war.

The blasphemy laws concerning the affront to Islam or anything concerning the religion is part and parcel of the laws of the ‘secular’ government of Pakistan. Christians are basically subject to laws in Pakistan based on the Umar Declaration the third Khalifa of Islam, that makes all non-Muslims second-class citizens and subservient, referred to as Dhimmis in the Islamic faith. The Umar Declaration was copied by Hitler to enact the infamous Nuremberg laws against the Jews as well as being educated by the modern originators of genocide the Islamic fundamentalist Ottoman Turks who also showed Hitler how to commit and get away with the murder of 2.2 million Armenian and Assyrian Christians during WW1.

In the last two weeks there has been an assassination of the Christian Minister for Minorities in the Pakistan government, who died in a hail of bullets when getting into his car. The reason for his murder was that he opposed the blasphemy laws of Pakistan and he wanted them repealed by the ‘secular’ government. A few days ago David Qumar, a Christian who was imprisoned unjustly for blasphemy, was killed in his prison cell. There are hundreds of other Christians incarcerated on false blasphemy charges with random murders and violence against the Christian community. Read more…

American Bar Association Recognizes Shariah Law

“Nothing like coming to America in order to change America

The motto for the ABA (American Bar Association) is ‘Defending Liberty and Pursuing Justice.’ But where is the liberty and justice for Christians?

A March of 2008 ABA article states, ‘As the Muslim population increases, it is becoming increasingly important for lawyers and the judiciary alike to try to understand the mysteries of the Islamic faith and address legal issues that specifically arise out of Islamic culture and beliefs.’

Last I knew religious matters were handled by whatever religion it was under, not this country’s judicial system. Of course this is unless something actually fell under a law of the land.

The article says, ‘While some religions allow its followers to easily segregate their ‘worldly’ life from ‘spiritual/religious’ life, Islam has failed to follow suit. A Muslim’s day-to-day life is intricately intertwined with his or her religious beliefs and teachings. A separation of the two is not only difficult but virtually impossible.'” Read more.

Sharia Law for the Non-Muslim

03/20/2011 Leave a comment

“When you study Islam in Europe today, you are seeing America in 20 years. Why? The actions by Muslims in Europe are based on Sharia law, the same Sharia law that is beginning to be implemented in America today.

  • There are times when traffic cannot move in London streets as Muslims commandeer the streets to pray—a political result based on Sharia law.
  • Entire areas of Europe are no-go zones for non-Muslims, this includes the police. These are Islamic enclaves where only Muslims live. The Muslim-only policy is based on Sharia.
  • In England an Anglican bishop calls for the rule of Islamic law for Muslims. The bishop is obeying Sharia law.
  • In the schools only Islamic approved texts can be used; this is based on Sharia law.
  • Christians may not speak to Muslims about Christianity nor may Christians hand out literature. This is a political result based on Sharia law enforced by British courts.
  • Rape by Muslims is so prevalent in parts of Sweden that Sweden has forbidden the police from collecting any data in the rape investigation that would point to Islam. Rape is part of Islamic doctrine as applied to non-Muslim women.
  • In London, mass demonstrations by Muslims call for the end of British law and Sharia law to rule all people, regardless of religion. This political action is based on Sharia.
  • In some English hospitals during Ramadan fast (an Islamic religious event), non-Muslims cannot eat where a Muslim can see them. The submission of non-Muslims to Islamic preferences is based on Sharia law.
  • At British hospitals, Muslim women are treated only as Sharia law demands.

Here are current and historical events in America that are driven by Sharia law:”  Read more (PDF).

“The 4-story compound in downtown Tripoli that was home to Libyan leader Muammar al-Qaddafi was demolished by missile attacks, according to reporters near the area.

There was no known injuries at it remains unclear where the leader has been living since the no-fly zone was ordered.

There were two circular holes in the roof, which is consistent with a missile strike, and rubble littered the street. It remains unclear when the strike occurred, reported Fox News’ Steve Harrigan.

Pentagon official had previously said Sunday that the coalition ‘will not be going after Qaddafi.'” Source.

Arab League Pushes UN For Libya No-Fly-Zone, Now Angered with Efforts to Implement It

“The Arab League chief said on Sunday that Arabs did not want military strikes by Western powers that hit civilians when the League called for a no-fly zone over Libya.

In comments carried by Egypt’s official state news agency, Secretary-General Amr Moussa also said he was calling for an emergency Arab League meeting to discuss the situation in the Arab world and particularly Libya.

‘What is happening in Libya differs from the aim of imposing a no-fly zone, and what we want is the protection of civilians and not the bombardment of more civilians,’ he said.

‘He requested official reports about what happened in Libya in terms of aerial and marine bombardment that led to the deaths and injuries of many Libyan civilians. He pointed out that he asked for the full data to know what actually happened,’ MENA said.

Western forces have unleashed their biggest military attack in the Arab world since the 2003 U.S. invasion of Iraq, targeting Muammar Gadhafi’s air defenses and armored vehicles near the rebel stronghold of Benghazi in the east of the country.”  Read more.

“The Coast Guard is investigating reports of a potentially large oil slick in the Gulf of Mexico not far from the Deepwater Horizon site. According to a knowledgeable source, the slick was sighted by a helicopter pilot on Friday and is about 100 miles long. A fishing boat captain said he went through the slick yesterday and it was strong enough to make his eyes burn.

According to the Times Picayune, the Coast Guard has confirmed they are investigating a potentially large 100 mile slick about 30 miles offshore. They are going to a site near the Matterhorn well site about 20 miles north of the BP Deepwater Horizon site, according to the paper. The Matterhorn field includes includes a deepwater drilling platform owned by W&T Technology. It was acquired last year from TotalFinaElf E&P.

Independent pilots are attempting to reach the slick today. Bonnie Schumaker with Wings of Care reported she saw a slick two days ago and is attempting to reach the site.”  Read more.

Hundreds of Islamists Throw Stones at Egypt’s El Baradei

A revolution by the people, for the people … and by ‘people’ I mean Islamists.

“CAIRO – Hundreds of Islamists hurled stones at secular opposition figure Mohamed ElBaradei as he went to cast his ballot in a referendum in Egypt’s capital on Saturday, an AFP reporter said.

‘We don’t want you,’ they shouted, forcing the former UN nuclear watchdog chief to retreat to his car and leave, but not before being hit by at least one stone in the back and drenched with water.”  Read more.

Report: Persecution of Christians Getting Worse, Particularly from Rise of Radical Islam

03/19/2011 Leave a comment

“THE persecution of Christians worldwide has worsened dramatically in the past few years, a new report by a Roman Catholic aid agency suggests.

Persecuted and Forgotten?, from Aid to the Church in Need, says that Christians are facing increased suffering in 22 countries around the world, and that Iraq, Egypt, Lebanon, Pakistan, and Nigeria are some of the worst countries in which to be a Christian today.

The rise of militant Islam poses a particular threat to Christians, the report suggests. It also highlights a rise in nationalism in India, Sri Lanka, and Burma, and the intimidation of Christian groups in communist states such as Venezuela.

A spokesman for Aid to the Church in Need, John Pontifex, said: ‘Extremists increasingly link local Christians in their countries to the West. As they are in most cases unable to attack Western countries direct, many extremists turn their fire on local Christians.’

Three years ago, the charity was concerned that Christianity in the Middle East was sliding into obscurity; now, it fears that it is in danger of being extinguished altogether.”  Read more.

Last Years Gulf Oil Spill May Be Contributing to Marine Mammal Deaths

03/19/2011 Leave a comment

“Mar 18, 2011 – Scientists investigate the cause of nearly 90 bottlenose dolphins in 2011

Though talk of the April, 2010 oil spill has lessened, the repercussions continue to surface. After an estimated 206 million gallons of oil spewed into the gulf nearly a year ago, the damage was inevitable. Despite the decrease in oil spill coverage, the bottlenose dolphin has recently been thrust into the oil spill spotlight due to an alarming study. So far this year 87 dead dolphins have washed up along the shorelines of the Gulf Coast; half of these deaths belong to premature, aborted, or stillborn dolphins. This number is alarming in itself, but it is especially alarming since it is 12 times higher than typical numbers at this time of year.

Experts are performing investigations to determine if the deaths are linked to the massive oil spill, the unusually cold winter, or some other cause yet to be discovered. Both the oil spill and the chemicals used to fight it and the cold winter can create a cumulative negative effect. Animals’ immune systems are weakened by chemical exposure thus decreasing their ability to adapt to cold weather. This combination can lead to an increase in infections that potentially lead to death.”  Read more.
