DNC Proceeds With 2-Hour Islamic ‘Jumah’ Prayers After Rejecting Cardinal’s Blessing (And You Won‘t Believe Who’s Invited)

By Erica Ritz, The Blaze – “The Democratic National Committee is raising a number of eyebrows after choosing to proceed with hosting Islamic ‘Jumah’ prayers for two hours on the Friday of its convention, though it denied a Catholic cardinal’s request to say a prayer at the same event.
Watch the promotional video, via the Bureau of Muslim Affairs, which is partnering with the DNC for the event.
The first two minutes are rather dry, but around 2:04 a muezzin sings the call to prayer with an American flag background, and the video ‘picks up’ considerably:
Up to 20,000 people are expected to attend the Friday prayers and Jibril Hough, a spokesman for the Bureau of Indigenous Muslim Affairs (BIMA), said the purpose of the event is to hold political parties accountable for the issues faced by Muslim-Americans.
In particular, the event will target the Patriot Act, the NYPD, the National Defense Authorization Act, and anti-Shariah sentiment.
And while Muslim-Americans undeniably face distinct challenges, those who are well-informed on the dangers of radical Islam are expressing their doubts about the event.
Dr. Zuhdi Jasser, a devout Muslim and the Founder and President of the American Islamic Forum for Democracy, wrote:
The leaders of this event – Jibril Hough and Imam Siraj Wahhaj [are not] moderates. They are radicals. These individuals embrace Islamist supremacy and have demonstrated support for radical ideologies.
A quick Google search by the DNC would have shown them that Hough and Wahhaj are leaders in the separatist American Islamist movement. While they may be able to get a few thousand Muslims to attend the event, they are NOT going to be mainstream Muslims. Most will likely come from Hough and Wahhaj’s radical networks that have long been entrenched in the Charlotte area. Make no mistake they are part of the Islamist movement.

Their jummah (group) prayer is…about empowering their Islamist and MB sympathetic groups into the very fabric of the political system so that Americans become anesthetized.
Southern California Earthquake Swarm Is Largest In 30 Years
By Melanie Eversley, USA TODAY – “The earthquake swarm that has been rocking Southern California since Sunday has been the area’s strongest such swarm in 30 years, the Los Angeles Times is reporting.
Similar swarms in the magnitude-5.0 range occurred in the area in the 1970s and in 1981, seismologist Lucy Jones of the U.S. Geological Survey told the Times. The area, in the region of Imperial County, is known as the Brawley Seismic Zone and sits between the San Andreas and Imperial faults, Jones told the Times.
No deaths or injures have been reported in the swarm, detailed in On Deadline on Sunday.
The Times reported that some buildings were damaged by the quakes, including 20 mobile homes that shifted from foundations, according to the Imperial County Office of Emergency Services. The American Red Cross is working with the agency to set up temporary shelter for those displaced, the Times reports.
The quakes also caused scattered power outages, including at Pioneers Memorial Hospital, where emergency generators kicked in during the three-hour power loss, the Times reported.” Source – USA Today.

By Robert Tait, The Telegraph – “The trend has prompted child protection experts to warn of a surge in mental illness, suicides, teenage runaways and girls turning to prostitution as the nuptials frequently end in divorce.
While both genders are affected, statistics from the state-run civil registration organisation show the phenomenon to be more prevalent among girls. Some families are said to be marrying off their daughters to older men to pay off debts.
An Iranian NGO, the Society For Protecting The Rights of The Child, said 43,459 girls aged under 15 had married in 2009, compared with 33,383 three years previously. In 2010, 716 girls younger than 10 had wed, up from 449 the previous year, according to the organisation.
Its spokesman, Farshid Yazdani, blamed deepening poverty for the development, which he said was more common in socially backward rural areas often afflicted with high levels of illiteracy and drug addiction.
‘Financial poverty of the families leads to children’s marriages. However, cultural poverty and ignorance is also an element,’ Mr Yazdani told the semi-official Mehr news agency.
He said increasing child marriages were accompanied by a correspondingly high teenage divorce rate. Some 15,000 females aged 15-19 divorced their husbands every year between 2007 and 2010.
The statistics will fuel criticism that Iran’s Islamic legal code allows children, especially girls, to be married at an inappropriately early age.” Read more.

Worst Drought In Years Devastates Southeast Europe, ‘Only God Can Help Us’
“After the harshest winter in decades, the Balkans in the southeast of Europe is now facing the worst drought in years. Sadly, it will only serve to compound the global effects of America’s current drought.
Nikola Radic, a Serbian farmer, said, ‘There is no salvation here.’ Radic says he ‘lost hope for salvation even a month ago, and now it’s even worse.’
In some places in Bosnia, the drought is the worst in 40 years.
Record-setting summer temperatures have devastated food and electricity production in the region, which is already badly hit by the global economic crisis.
In Bosnia, the heat has destroyed almost 70 percent of vegetable and corn production, with potato and corn among the worst-affected crops. Most farmers are cutting down their corn crops for livestock feed, but the quality is so poor that most of the parched crop cannot even be used for that.
Crops in Bosnia’s Semberija region are brown and brittle, and some 27,000 acres have been lost in this area alone.
Officials estimate that the drought in Bosnia-Herzegovina will cost the equivalent of half a billion euros.
Farmers are worried that they will not have adequate funds next year to buy seed corn and other investments. One farmer, who is expecting yields of less than a third of the 2011 crop, said that if the drought persists for another year, he will no longer be able to farm.
Farmers are asking for state help, but, with prolonged economic and political crisis placing a strain on national finances, none is coming.
Ljubisav Tomic, a farmer in Bosnia, sayid ‘This is lost. Only God can help us, only heavens can save us.’

Could Hurricane Isaac Be A Warning To America Over Israel?
Admittedly, similar thoughts have been going through my own mind lately …
“TAMPA, Fla. – Could Hurricane Isaac’s disrupting of the Republican convention here be tied to recent policy decisions by the GOP leadership and Barack Obama?
That question is being raised by Bible prophecy expert William Koenig, whose book, ‘Eye to Eye: Facing the Consequences of Dividing Israel,’ links catastrophic hurricanes hitting the U.S. with changes in policy toward Israel.
Koenig points out that on Tuesday, the day Isaac formed as a tropical storm, the Republican platform committee voted to add a ‘two-state’ position pertaining to Israel for formal convention approval. Earlier, a pastor on the Republican platform committee offered an amendment for a one-state solution to the dispute between Israel and the Palestinian Arabs with no land concessions by the Jewish state.
But former Sen. Jim Talent, R-Mo., quoted Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to demonstrate that the original platform language was consistent with the Israeli position. Talent was supported in his successful bid to defeat the amendment by Rep. Eric Cantor, the House majority leader, and the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, better known as AIPAC.
‘This is the second straight Republican convention postponed due to a major hurricane,’ points out Koenig. ‘And this is the third straight Republican convention that became secondary news due to a hurricane. Bush was pressuring Israel during the times of the 2004 and 2008 conventions.’
Koenig links all three convention disruptions to platform committee decisions to support further division of the land of Israel to pave the way for the creation of a Palestinian state

USGS: Swarm Of Quakes Rattle California And Arizona, ‘Our System Is Choking On So Many Earthquakes’
AFP – “A series of earthquakes measuring up to 5.4 rattled southern California, Arizona and the Mexican border region Sunday, seismologists said, although no damage or injuries were immediately reported.
The small- and medium-level quakes were felt from San Diego and Orange County in California east into Arizona, and swamped the temblor-measuring resources of the US Geological Survey (USGS).
The quakes began around 12:16 pm (2016 GMT) with a magnitude 4 temblor 16 miles (26 km) north of El Centro, California, and lasted more than two hours. The biggest shakes included a magnitude 5.4 at 13:57, with the same epicenter.
The so-called ‘seismic swarm’ is a relatively rare occurrence.
‘We haven’t seen one of these since the 1970s, and there was another one back in the 1930s,’ said USGS seismologist Lucy Jones.
‘Our system is choking on so many earthquakes.’
Buildings were evacuated in Brawley, 115 miles east-northeast of San Diego. ‘It’s pretty bad, we had to evacuate the hotel just for safety,’ said Rowena Rapoza, office manager at the Best Western Hotel there.” Source – Yahoo! News.
Researchers Find Mysterious New AIDS-Like Disease
“ATLANTA (AP) — Researchers have identified a mysterious new disease that has left scores of people in Asia and some in the United States with AIDS-like symptoms even though they are not infected with HIV.
The patients’ immune systems become damaged, leaving them unable to fend off germs as healthy people do. What triggers this isn’t known, but the disease does not seem to be contagious.
This is another kind of acquired immune deficiency that is not inherited and occurs in adults, but doesn’t spread the way AIDS does through a virus, said Dr. Sarah Browne, a scientist at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.
She helped lead the study with researchers in Thailand and Taiwan where most of the cases have been found since 2004. Their report is in Thursday’s New England Journal of Medicine.
‘This is absolutely fascinating. I’ve seen probably at least three patients in the last 10 years or so’ who might have had this, said Dr. Dennis Maki, an infectious disease specialist at the University of Wisconsin in Madison.
It’s still possible that an infection of some sort could trigger the disease, even though the disease itself doesn’t seem to spread person-to-person, he said.
The disease develops around age 50 on average but does not run in families, which makes it unlikely that a single gene is responsible, Browne said. Some patients have died of overwhelming infections, including some Asians now living in the U.S., although Browne could not estimate how many.” Read more.

Almost daily, the Iranians boast about new capabilities: high-powered speed boats — based on Britain’s 63mph Bradstone Challenger — designed to swarm enemy ships, and the upgraded Fateh-110 missile, which could hit U.S. bases and the two aircraft carrier groups massing in the Gulf…
Iranian weapons, including up to ten powerful Scud missiles, have been shipped via Syria to Hizbollah, which has an arsenal of more than 50,000 rockets capable of hitting much of Israel, many concealed in up to 100 fortified villages.
The Iranians also repeatedly trumpet their irrational hatred of Israel and Jews in general. Only last week, Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei vowed Israel would soon ‘disappear’, while President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad described it as ‘a cancerous tumour’…

Washington Times Columnist Jeff Kuhner: World War III Will Begin Within Six Months

Radio Host: “We’ve got Israel and Iran rattling sabers, hugely, we’ve got the man in the White House — who has not made a single visit to Israel — he’s telling Israel to stand down until after the election. What’s the talk in Washington about this? I mean, we could be on the brink, literally, of World War III … this could be biblical in nature. What’s the talk in Washington?”
Jeff Kuhner: “Well, the talk in Washington is that the Israelis now see themselves as having a three to six-month window before Iran embarks upon a path that is irreversible in terms of them obtaining a nuclear bomb. They now realize, maybe by February or January at the absolute latest, if they do not strike Iran’s nuclear facilities their installations will be too deep underground, their program will be too advanced, by then it’s just a matter of time before Iran gets the bomb and once they get the bomb they will use it and annihilate Israel with it. And so now Iran realizes that Israel is on a war footing. And this is why they, in Tehran, are bracing for a military showdown. Both sides now know a war is inevitable.
What the Israelis are now calculating — and this is, I think, gonna be the most important dynamic of this entire election — is should they wait for a potential Romney victory or, if they sense that Obama is going to win, should they strike before the election, use maximum leverage from Obama because he will need the Jewish-American vote, he will need … at least some part of the Evangelical-Protestant vote to win, and so … the thinking in Israel is now Obama will need our support or the support of Israel’s friends. After November, he’s in for a full second term, he can throw Israel to the wolves. And so I think the Israelis are looking at the election, they’re now looking at the polls. They may wait until January for a Romney administration if they feel confident enough that Romney will win [because January is when Romney will have power]. But if by mid-September or late-September … if they sense there’s a real possibility that Obama will win, then they will have no choice but to strike because if they strike after November then Obama will give them no diplomatic cover, they will have no support, they will be completely isolated on the world stage, and the Israelis know that will be the death of them. They know clearly that without America’s support they cannot sustain a serious long war, not just with Iran, but with the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, with Hamas in Gaza, with Hezbollah in Lebanon, with most likely an empowered Muslim Brotherhood in Syria. Israel is now literally encircled and surrounded by their enemies. And so if America goes to [elect] an Obama Administration for a second term, then Israel’s goose is cooked…
You see, the key point to remember about Obama is this. He truly is the son of his father… He is truly an anti-Western, anti-colonial socialist leftist. And in his mind, it is the European powers, the Western powers, who are responsible for the exploitation and impoverishment of the third world, and for him the third world also encompasses the Muslim world, the Arab world. And so in his view Israel is like Europe and America. Israel is an imperial power. Israel is the source of all the problems in the Middle East. That’s why, you’ve noticed, he’s never gone to Israel on a visit. But he’s gone to Saudi Arabia. He went to Cairo. Obama To Palestinians: Delay Next Bid For Statehood Until US Election Is Over

By Aaron Klein – “NEW YORK – The Obama administration has asked the Palestinian Authority to delay its bid to unilaterally declare a state at the United Nations until after November’s presidential election, a senior PA official told WND.
The official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the request was passed to PA President Mahmoud Abbas’ office by the U.S. Consulate in Jerusalem earlier this month.
The official said the PA has not yet made a decision about the timing of its application with the U.N. General Assembly for accepting ‘Palestine’ as a non-member state. The official, however, did indicate Abbas is inclined toward waiting until after the U.S. presidential election.
Any U.N. push by the PA prior to the election would thrust the Obama administration into the position of having to deal with the U.N. statehood question in the middle of an election.
Last September, the PA failed to secure enough votes to declare a state at the U.N. Security Council after the U.S. played a key role in scuttling the statehood attempt. The PA pledged to take a similar request to the General Assembly, where it expects to garner the support of more than 130 countries.
Any General Assembly recognition of a state would be considered mostly symbolic. Still, it would be a step toward possible future Security Council approval which would grant full recognition of a state.” Read more.
