The Battle Of Gog Of Magog & The Return Of Jesus
By Joel Richardson – “The Book of Revelation, chapter 19, contains what is perhaps the most famous Biblical passage concerning the return of Jesus. There, Jesus the Messiah is seen to burst forth from heaven, riding on a white horse with the armies of heaven following Him. But as powerful and well known as this prophetic portrayal of the return of Jesus is, few are aware of the fact that the prophecy of Ezekiel 38 and 39, most often known as the Battle of Gog of Magog, also concludes with the return of Jesus. In fact, it can be said that Ezekiel 38 and 39 is in fact, the Armageddon of the Old Testament.
Although many popular interpreters have wrongly understood this passage to conclude several years before the return of Jesus, any honest assessment of the text simply does not allow for this. But among the many reasons to reject a pre-Day of the LORD conclusion of this prophecy, one of the simplest, is because it concludes with the LORD actually physically present in the land of Israel.
That’s right, Ezekiel reveals that at the conclusion of Gog’s invasion, Jesus the Messiah is physically present on the ground, in the land. Consider the following passage:
“For in my jealousy and in my blazing wrath I declare, on that day there shall be a great earthquake in the land of Israel. The fish of the sea and the birds of the heavens and the beasts of the field and all creeping things that creep on the ground, and all the people who are on the face of the earth, shall quake at my presence” —Ezekiel 38:19–20
According to this text, the Lord Himself says that throughout the earth, both people and animals will ‘quake at [His] presence.’ The word used for presence here is the Hebrew word paneh. Paneh is a reference to the actual face of someone or something. When God says that the people of the earth will quake at His paneh, He is saying that they will be terrified because of His actual physical presence, on the ground, in the land of Israel (see also: Zechariah 14:2-5, Isaiah 29:2-8, Revelation 16:16-20).
Concerning the word paneh, The New Unger’s Bible Dictionary says, ‘The presence (face) of Jehovah is Jehovah in his own personal presence.’ The New International Encyclopedia of Bible Words says, ‘In the OT, being in God’s or another’s presence is indicated by a preposition (l) prefixed to the Hebrew word panim (‘face’). The thought is to be ‘before the face of the person.’ Paneh is used throughout the Old Testament to refer to the actual presence of God. This disclosure by federal authorities, even if true, is the epitome of reckless stupidity. To disclose the creator as a “Coptic Christian” during a time in which the Coptic community in Egypt is struggling for their very existence is akin to reinforcing the Nazi conviction in 1939 that the Jews were responsible for all of Germany’s misfortunes. “WASHINGTON (AP) — Federal authorities have identified a Coptic Christian in southern California who is on probation after his conviction for financial crimes as the key figure behind the anti-Muslim film that ignited mob violence against U.S. embassies across the Mideast, a U.S. law enforcement official told The Associated Press on Thursday.
The official said authorities had concluded that Nakoula Basseley Nakoula, 55, was behind ‘Innocence of Muslims,’ a film that denigrated Islam and the prophet Muhammad and sparked protests earlier this week in Egypt, Libya and most recently in Yemen. It was not immediately clear whether Nakoula was the target of a criminal investigation or part of the broader investigation into the deaths of U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans in Libya during a terrorist attack.
Attorney General Eric Holder confirmed Thursday that Justice Department officials were investigating the deaths, which occurred during an attack on the American mission in Benghazi.
The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to discuss an ongoing investigation, said Nakoula was connected to the persona of Sam Bacile, a man who initially told the AP he was the film’s writer and director. But Bacile turned out to be a false identity, and the AP traced a cellphone number Bacile used to a southern California house where it located and interviewed Nakoula.” Read more.

By Gil Ronen, INN – “While Egyptian protesters fought security forces outside the U.S. Embassy in Cairo Thursday morning, another standoff was taking place in cyberspace between the Embassy and the Muslim Brotherhood, wrote Al Ahram Online Thursday.
The Muslim Brotherhood’s official English-language Twitter account reposted a message from the group’s deputy head, Khairat El-Shater, saying he was ‘relieved none of @USembassycairo staff was hurt’ and expressing hope that U.S.-Egyptian relations would survive intact.
‘This reconciliatory tweet, however, was posted while the Brotherhood’s Arabic-language Twitter account and its official website were both praising the protests… and calling for a million man march on Friday,’ wrote the news source.
‘One Arabic language article on the Brotherhood’s site sported the headline ‘Egyptians rise to defend the Prophet’.’
The U.S. Embassy in Cairo picked up the contradiction and tweeted: ‘Thanks. By the way, have you checked out your own Arabic feeds? I hope you know we read those too.’
The Brotherhood replied some 20 minutes later, saying ‘we understand you’re under a lot of stress, but it will be more helpful if you point out exactly the Arabic feed of concern.’
‘They were just three tweets, but they provided a snapshot into the strains US-Egypt relations are under this week,’ said Al Ahram.
Egypt’s president, Mohammed Morsi, is the leader of the Muslim Brotherhood’s political party.” Source – INN.

Russia: Convert To Islam Calls For Killing Of All Non-Muslims To Unite The Muslim World Under A ‘Global Islamic Caliphate’
RAPSI – “MOSCOW, September 13 – RAPSI. The Moscow City Court has sentenced radical Islamist Tatyana Tarasova to 1.5 years of probation for posting an article promoting terrorism on a Muslim advocacy website that she administered, the court told the Russian Legal Information Agency (RAPSI/rapsinews.com) Thursday.
Tarasova pleaded guilty in the case. Her case was considered via special procedure in one day. The special procedure classification ensures a trial without an evidentiary review or witness testimonies, and the court cannot sentence the defendant to the maximum punishment.
According to the investigators, Tarasova converted to Islam and began supporting radical Islamic views and the idea of committing terrorist acts against non-Muslims in an effort to unite the Muslim world under a ‘global Islamic caliphate.’
In 2005, she joined the interregional ‘Islamic Committee’ movement as the deputy chairman. She also started administering its website. Investigators believe that Tarasova used the website to promote the organization’s beliefs, and published materials promoting terrorist activities.
Tarasova studied theology at Moscow State University’s Philosophy Department.

By Gregory J. Krieg – “Sen. Jon Kyl, R-Ariz., suggested today that President Obama’s response to the embassy attacks in Egypt and Libya was akin to a court asking a rape victim for an apology.
Speaking to reporters on Capitol Hill, the 70-year old, retiring senator said:
‘It’s like the judge telling the woman who got raped, ‘You asked for it because of the way you dressed.’ OK? That’s the same thing. ‘Well, America, you should be the ones to apologize, you should have known this would happen, you should have done – what I don’t know – but it’s your fault that it happened.’ You know, for a member of our State Department to put out a statement like that, it had to be cleared by somebody. They don’t just do that in the spur of the moment.’
Kyl likely referred to criticism by U.S. diplomats in Egypt of a U.S.-produced film that reportedly features a negative depiction of Islam’s prophet, Muhammed. The film was cited later during the attack on the U.S. embassy in Egypt.
‘It came from people on the ground, who are potentially in danger,’ Obama told ’60 Minutes.’ ‘You know, my tendency is to cut folks a little bit of slack when they’re in that circumstance, rather than try to question their judgment from the comfort of a campaign office.’
Mitt Romney was the first to attack the president, releasing a statement Tuesday night that claimed the White House’s initial reaction was ‘disgraceful’ and said the administration was inclined to ‘sympathize with those who waged the attacks.'” Read more.

Large Asteroid That May Pose Future Threat To Fly By Earth Today
“A newfound asteroid that may be the size of three football fields will whiz by Earth Thursday Sept. 13, and you can watch the close encounter live online.
Asteroid 2012 QG42 is between 625 feet to 1,400 feet wide (190 to 430 meters) and was first spotted by scientists last month. Researchers say the space rock has no chance of hitting Earth this week when it makes its closest approach on Thursday.
The asteroid will pass by at a safe distance of about 7.5 times the Earth-moon distance. The moon is, on average, about 238,000 miles from Earth.
Asteroid 2012 QG42 is, however, listed as a ‘potentially hazardous asteroid’ by the Minor Planet Center at Cambridge, Mass., meaning it may pose a threat in the future.
At least two online observatories are tracking the asteroid’s pass by Earth.
The Virtual Telescope Project run by astronomer Gianluca Masi in Italy began providing a live video stream today at 6 p.m. EDT (22:00 UTC). You can see that video stream on the project’s website.

On Thursday, the Slooh Space Camera night sky observing website will provide a live view of asteroid 2012 QG42’s closest approach in a webcast starting at 7 p.m. EDT (2300 GMT), offering views from at least one of its telescopes at its observatory in the Canary Islands, off the west coast of Africa. “(ANSAmed) – CAIRO – The Prophet ‘is a red line nobody can touch’, Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi was quoted as saying by Egypt’s Mena news agency comments on protests across Egypt and Libya and a film on the Prophet slammed as blasphemous. The Prophet ‘is a red line for all Muslims and we refuse any attack’, said the president. ‘We will sacrifice with our soul and heart’ Morsi also said, citing a Muslim profession of faith. The Egyptian president, who had a phone conversation with US President Barack Obama before talks with European leaders and then a trip to Rome this afternoon, stressed his condemnation of ‘all attempts to attack the Profet [sic] and the sacred principles of Islam’. .
Meanwhile he also assured Egyptian security forces will do everything in their power to protect foreigners in the country.
Morsi asked also his US counterpart Barack Obama to ‘take dissuasive measures against those trying to demolish relations with the US’;. Morsi also expressed his condolences for the death of the US ambassador in Libya in statements to Egypt’s state television.
Talking about the ‘dissuasive measures’ requested, Morsi cited Father Terry Jones stressing that ‘he is the same person who tried to burn the Koran and is now trying to offend the Prophet’;.
”We don’t attack anyone and do not accept any aggression against our sacred principles’ Morsi told state television after phone talks with Obama.” Source – ANSAmed.
University Professor Under Criminal Investigation For ‘Insulting Mohammed’ … In Germany – “… Dr. Armin Geus, emeritus professor of medical history at the University of Marburg, who wrote a book exploring the possibility that Mohammed, the supposed founder of Islam, had been suffering from a mental illness, is now under investigation for ‘Incitement to hatred against peoples’ and ‘Insulting faiths, religious communities and philosophical associations’. The investigation was prompted by a complaint filed by the Saudi-controlled Wahhabist centre, the King Fahd Academy.” Read more.

I was just thinking yesterday that when the next Middle East war breaks out and the Muslim world begins to erupt we would begin to see headlines across the globe using the word “Armageddon” to describe the brewing situation in the Islamic world. Little do many realize that what may soon begin is what may indeed be the catalyst that will bring us to precisely that …
“TEL AVIV, Israel (CBSDC/AP) – Israeli Arabs protest outside the U.S. Embassy in Tel Aviv Thursday following the attacks on U.S. compounds in Libya, Egypt and Yemen.
The Times of Israel reports about 100 peaceful demonstrators marched outside the embassy to protest the anti-Islam movie which mocks the prophet Muhammad.
A radical group called the Northern Branch of the Islamic Movement led the demonstration, according to the Times of Israel.
A top Israeli Arab Knesset official warned of ‘Armageddon’ if the United Nations does not intervene.
‘If the U.N. does not mobilize to stop this erosion, it will be Armageddon,’ MK Talab el-Sana told the Israeli paper.
This is the latest round of protests on the heels of the attacks on U.S. compounds in Libya, Yemen and Egypt.” Read more.
Turmoil Over Contentious Video Spreads to Yemen and Iran – “Turmoil in the Arab world linked to an American-made video denigrating the Prophet Muhammad spread on Thursday to Yemen, where hundreds of protesters attacked the American Embassy, two days after assailants killed four Americans in Libya, including the ambassador, and crowds tried to overrun the embassy compound in Cairo. Iraqi Militia Threatens U.S. Interests Over Film – “An Iraqi militia that carried out some of the most prominent attacks on foreigners during the Iraq war on Thursday threatened U.S. interests in the country over a film that has triggered protests in Libya, Egypt and Yemen. ‘The offence caused to the messenger (Prophet Mohammad) will put all American interests in danger and we will not forgive them for that,’ said Qais al-Khazali, leader of the Asaib al-Haq militia.” Read more.
Protests Reach Day 3 In Cairo, Anti-American Sentiment Spreading With Domino Effect – “Tuesday’s attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya that left American ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans dead seems now to have just been the beginning. The uprising has spread throughout the Middle East, with protesters now in Egypt, Iran, Tunisia, Morocco and Afghanistan. Protests were finally quelled in Yemen, where demonstrators breached the perimeter of the U.S. Embassy in Sanaa. President Obama Forced To Admit That Egypt — An American Ally For Decades — Is No Longer A US Ally
Imagine that. Did we just witness Barack Obama having a brief moment of partial lucidity from his four-year coma and actually acknowledge the blatantly obvious? It appears that way. The fact that he still doesn’t consider the new “destroy western civilization from within” leadership in Egypt an enemy, however, certainly exemplifies the blind naivete that continues to cloud the myopic, wishful thinking of the Obama Administration’s incompetent leadership …
Update: That brief moment of lucidity is now being “clarified” …
“President Barack Obama has said the United States does not currently consider Egypt to be an ally.
He was speaking with reference to violent clashes at the US embassy in Cairo, over a US-made anti-Islamic film which has sparked anger among Muslims.
His comments also came after the storming of the US consulate in Benghazi, Libya, which killed the US ambassador on Tuesday.
President Obama referred to US-Egypt relations as a ‘work in progress’.
‘I don’t think we would consider them an ally, but we don’t consider them an enemy. They are a new government that is trying to find its way,’ Mr Obama said in a television interview with Spanish-language network Telemundo.
He said that so far Egypt’s government has ‘said the right thing and taken the right steps’ but it has also responded to other events in ways that ‘may not be aligned with our interests’…
‘If they take actions that indicate they are not taking those responsibilities, as all other countries do where we have embassies, I think that’s going to be a problem,’ Mr Obama said.
Egypt was a close and vital Middle East ally of the United States while ousted President Hosni Mubarak was in power.
Cairo has been key US ally since 1979 Egypt-Israel peace deal, and the US gives more than $1bn in military aid to Egypt every year.
After last year’s uprising and the resurgence of the once-banned Muslim Brotherhood, question marks have been raised over the future of the relationship.” Read more.

Egypt-Iran Intelligence Meeting Prompts Fears That Muslim Brotherhood Will Begin Supporting Global Terror – “U.S. intelligence agencies recently monitored a secret meeting between Egypt’s intelligence chief and a senior Iranian spy that is raising new fears the Muslim Brotherhood government in Cairo could begin covertly supporting global terrorism. According to U.S. officials, the head of the Egyptian General Intelligence Service, Maj. Gen. Murad Muwafi, met in early August with a senior official of Iran’s Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS).
