Qaddafi: U.N. Resolution Is ‘Invalid’; Rebels Inadvertently Shoot Down Own Plane
“Libyan forces struck Saturday at the heart of the rebellion against Muammar al-Qaddafi, shelling the outskirts of the rebel capital and launching airstrikes in defiance of international demands for a halt to the fighting.
Muammar al-Qadhafi called the United Nations resolution authorizing international military intervention in Libya as ‘invalid.’
The Libyan leader says he sent a message to President Barack Obama defending his decision to attack rebel cities: ‘If you found them taking over American cities by the force of arms, tell me what you would do.'” Read more.
Ethiopian Muslim Group To Christians: More Attacks Are Coming and More Christians Will Be Killed
“On March 8, 2011 armed Muslims entered the home of an elderly Christian leader who founded a church near the town of Asendabo, Ethiopia. When the militants began to assault the church leader, his grandson rushed to intervene, screaming at the men to leave his grandfather. The Islamists stopped assaulting the grandfather and turned their attention to the young man – swinging at his head and arms with their machetes. He sustained three wounds to his head and one on his hand before the men proceeded to rob the home and leave the young man for dead. The young man’s family was forced to make a three hour journey on foot to take him to a hospital in a nearby city, where he is still receiving treatment.
Asendabo is located in Jima province of Ethiopia. In. The attacks started on March 2 and lasted for a week; Muslims killed two Christians and wounded several others. The attackers burned down 69 churches and 30 Christian homes. They also robbed several Christian homes. Ten thousand Christians were forced to flee their homes following the attacks. The Muslims started the violence after accusing the Christians of desecrating the Qur’an.” Read more.
Iranian film: Invade Israel to Usher in Muslim ‘Messiah’
By Joel Richardson
“A documentary that ties the current events in the Middle East to the soon coming of the Islamic messiah figure known as the Mahdi has just been released in Iran. The video contains one of the most overt calls to war yet seen in the Iranian media, perhaps pointing to the anxiety and desperation of the present regime in the midst of the many regional uprisings, including one in its own country.
The documentary claims to have been made by the Iranian Muslim scholars (ulema) who presently control the country, including the Iranian Revolutionary Guard.
The film intermixes various Islamic sacred traditions (hadith) with a hodgepodge of chanting, passages from the Quran and graphic imagery portraying the Islamic world as collectively yearning for the coming of the Mahdi to deliver them from the “oppression” of the United States and Israel.
The documentary begins with the words, ‘Greetings to Mahdi, the one who all beings on earth and in heaven love without end. Here’s the one that mirrors Allah’s soul, the perfect human, the inheritor of all prophets.’
The narration then moves on to the words of Imam Bahger, Shi’a Islam’s fifth imam, who is quoted as saying, ‘The messiah [Mahdi] will not arise unless fear, great earthquakes and sedition take place.’ Imam Bagher (most often transliterated Baqir) is viewed as being among the ‘infallible’ imams of Shi’a Islam.” Read more.
Video Shows Egyptian Army Personnel Attacking Christian Demonstrators
If Muslims demonstrate, leave them alone. If Christians demonstrate, ATTACK!
“Coptic protesters who were in front of the TV building in Maspero, waiting for the curfew to end to go home, came under attack from the Egyptian Army, after Coptic representatives agreed yesterday to suspend their 9-day sit-in until March 25. The army also attempted to assault Father Filopareer Gamil, one of the leaders of the sit- in, but Coptic protesters shielded him with their bodies.
Father Filopateer said that a Coptic demonstration is gathering in front of the hospital where the wounded have been transferred. ‘An army official came to the hospital to pacify the Coptic youth but they refused to meet with him and are demanding an investigation by the military.’
According to Dr. Gameel Ebeid of the Coptic hospital in Cairo where some of the wounded demonstrators are under medical treatment, 15 Copts have broken limbs, head wounds as well as burns from electrified batons. He said the patients told him that they had agreed with the army to evacuate the area in front of the TV building at 6 AM after the end of the curfew and after cleaning up after yesterday’s demonstration. ‘Suddenly at 3:45 AM they were attacked heavily by the army unit present at the TV building. The youth started running and those who were caught were stripped of their mobile phones so as not to take photos, and their personal belongings were confiscated. I personally saw 15 patients, 14 of them had their feet broken, wounds in the head and were nearly unconscious from being beaten with electrified batons. One protester underwent an operation to put an implant in his arm.'” Read more.
Islamic Extremists Up Persecution of Christians in Ethiopia
“Christians in the Jima province in western Ethiopia are seeing their region ravaged by Islamic extremists who have killed one Christian, burned down dozens of churches, a Bible school and an orphanage, and destroyed 50 homes belonging to believers.
International Christian Concern reports that the attacks began March 2 after Islamic extremists blamed believers for desecrating the Quran — an action that Jonathan Racho, regional manager for Africa with ICC, says was actually done by Muslims.
‘They are using force in order to ascertain their presence in the country,’ Racho said. ‘The Islamists in Ethiopia believe that they should not be ruled by the government which is dominated by people from a Christian background. The radical Muslims are saying they can only live in a country where sharia law is implemented, and that’s why they are organizing this kind of violence in order to destabilize the country.’
The attacks, which have spread to neighboring villages, have claimed 55 Christian churches and have left 3,000 people homeless. The Ethiopian government has deployed the military to prevent further attacks. In 2006, Muslims attacked Christians in the region, killing dozens and razing churches in the process.” Source.
How Islamists Could Cripple U.S. Sea Power
“Clouds are forming that could become a perfect storm destructive to America’s power and influence. Historically, America made decisions that led to its economic and military ascendancy. Today, America’s decisions are shifting her economic and military strengths to other nations, including potential enemies. As expected, that power flows to those countries that act logically in their own self-interest, pursuing objectives to which they are totally committed. While America appears to be non-committal to its own interests, this storm has at least seven indicators converging on the nation:
- potential threats to the U.S. Navy’s ability to keep sea lanes open for commerce
- Turkey’s increasing military and economic power
- the Turkish government’s shift from secular to Islamist
- Muslim countries’ physical proximity to strategic sea lanes
- the naïve belief of the West that the institution of democracy will curb Islamic aggression
- Islamists’ belief that world domination is destined by Allah, and
- America’s huge budgetary deficits and crippling debt
Should this storm form, it imperils America’s influence in foreign relations as well as national security.” Read more.
Will A Nuclear Caliphate Rise From Unrest In The Mideast?
“With the Muslim world reaching a boiling point, U.S. intelligence fears that the unrest could create a power vacuum exploited by al-Qaida and its parent, the radical Muslim Brotherhood.
Both share a goal of bringing the Mideast under a single Islamic ruler, who could control world oil supplies and possibly even nuclear weapons.
The Obama administration finds the idea of such a ‘caliphate’ preposterous. It isn’t even concerned about the prospect of Islamist regimes emerging from the revolts. Many of the Mideast protesters are ‘secular,’ the White House believes.
Deputy National Security Adviser Denis McDonough called it a ‘lie’ that Muslims want a universal Islamic state. “People across the Arab world are proving the point,” he said, by calling for free elections.
Still, 61% of Americans believe the emergence of an Islamic caliphate is “likely” in the next 10 years, according to the latest IBD/TIPP poll, and intelligence officials say the call for a caliphate, while once fringe, has developed over the past few years into a global movement spanning many Muslim countries.
The University of Maryland recently surveyed Muslims in Indonesia, as well as Egypt, Pakistan and Morocco, and found that 77% agree with al-Qaida’s quest to ‘unify all Islamic countries into a single Islamic state.'” Read more.
IDF Seizes Freighter of Iranian Weapons Headed to Gaza
“The IDF seized a freighter ship with dozens of tons of weaponry from Iran headed for Hamas in the Gaza Strip on Tuesday.
The ship, known as Victoria, was flying a Liberian flag, and was seized by the navy in the Mediterranean Sea, 200 miles off of Israel’s coast.
The Victoria was boarded by commandos from the Israeli Navy’s Flotilla 13, also known as the Shayetet, arrived in the Ashdod port on Tuesday evening.
An initial inspection of the cargo revealed the ship was carrying weapons. The exact amount is to be determined.
The crew, questioned by the Navy Commando, was not aware that the cargo contained weaponry.” Read more.
Caliphate, Jihad, Sharia: Now What?
Revelation 13:4b, “… and they worshiped the beast, saying, ‘Who is like the beast? Who is able to make war with him?'”
“Yet, as the West begins to understand the unique nature of its enemy—caliphate, jihad, and sharia all pose a perpetual, transcendent threat—it must also understand that a unique response is required. The clean, hygienic way the West likes to deal with socio-political conflicts will simply not do this time, especially in the long run.
Consider the caliphate: its very existence would usher in a state of constant hostility. Both historically and doctrinally, the caliphate’s function is to wage jihad, whenever and wherever possible, to bring the infidel world under Islamic dominion and enforce sharia. In fact, most of what is today called the “Muslim world”—from Morocco to Pakistan—was conquered, bit by bit, by a caliphate that began in Arabia in 632.
A jihad-waging, sharia-enforcing caliphate represents a permanent, ideological enemy—not a temporal foe that can be bought or pacified through diplomacy or concessions. Such a caliphate is precisely what Islamists around the world are feverishly seeking to establish. Without active, preemptive measures, it is only a matter of time before they succeed.” (Emphasis mine). Read more.
Arab League: Libyan Gov’t Has Lost Its Sovereignty, Supports No-Fly Zone
“RAS LANOUF, Libya — The world moved a step closer to a decision on imposing a no-fly zone over Libya but Muammar al-Qaddafi was swiftly advancing Saturday on the poorly equipped and loosely organized rebels who have seized much of the country.
Qaddafi’s forces pushed the frontline miles deeper into rebel territory and violence erupted at the front door of the opposition stronghold in eastern Libya, where an Al-Jazeera cameraman slain in an ambush became the first journalist killed in the nearly month-long conflict.” Read more.
Turkey and the Restoration of the Caliphate
“… Turkey’s move away from the West, its renewed alliances with Islamist regimes and its disavowal of secular reforms in favor of theocratic rule under shariah could precipitate a precarious shift in the balance of power in the world. A portentous event could have been when Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad last month hosted Nureddin Surin, a Hizbollah-activist and the delegation leader of the MV Mavi Marmara, the Turkish ship captured by Israeli as it tried to run the Gaza blockade. Surin used the occasion to declare, ‘We are here today with the longing and the determination to build a Middle East without Israel and America, and to refresh our pledge to continue on the path of the Mavi Marmara shahids (martyrs)…..’
The Iranian Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, took the opportunity to thank the Turkish Muslims for their fight on behalf of Islam. Given the strength of this alliance combined with Saudi largesse and a changing picture in the Middle East, a global caliphate under shariah law could become a reality.” Read more.
World War III in the Middle East?
By Joel Richardson
“Despite President Obama’s mildly presumptuous declarations that his ascension to power would signal ‘the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal,’ we’re now two years in, and rather than healing, it appears as though the world is instead developing an incredibly nasty infection. But in all fairness to the president, he did also say this would be ‘the moment when we ended a war.’ And I suppose that we are in the process of evacuating our forces from Iraq, so who said this guy isn’t keeping his promises? It’s all coming together exactly according to his plan – that is, ofcourse, if we don’t consider the American economy, which is dangling by a thread, or the fact that we are entering World War III in the Middle East.
OK, I know the shock value of declaring that we may now be entering World War III has become a bit tired at this point, but the fact of the matter is the United States has suddenly found herself quietly involved in a multiple-front Middle Eastern war. As we continue to plod through our efforts in Afghanistan and “wrap up” things in Iraq, at least three new fronts are opening up elsewhere. And that could very well be just the beginning.” Read more.
