Japanese Volcanic Blast Shatters Windows for Miles

“The strongest activity at southern Japan’s Shinmoedake volcano in 52 years shattered windows four miles away, sending hundreds of people fleeing the area.

Ash and other volcanic debris soared more than 6,000 feet into the atmosphere above Kyushu Island, about 950 miles from the epicenter of the catastrophic 9.0 magnitude quake off Honshu two days earlier.

Officials said it was unclear if the volcanic blast was related to the temblor.

Shinmoedake’s last blast was on Feb. 1. Its rumblings resumed on Jan. 19 after the peak had remained dormant for two years.”  Read more.

I’ve noticed a swarm of recent small earthquakes around Mt St Helena/Geyserville, which can be found at http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/recenteqscanv/FaultMaps/123-39.html

I’ve made sure I have extra water, propane, dry food, gas, a generator, (even shotgun shells!) just in case utilities go out for an extended period due to earthquake. We don’t live right near a fault line, but services and utilities could be disrupted if there is a major quake in CA.

A contingency plan is always a wise thing.

Here’s another interview between Jim Berkland and Fox TV, similar to the one you posted previously: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xQXDt4VdS0E&feature=related

I don’t know where you fall on the “view of the prophetic” spectrum, but I just watched this and its quite interesting:

    http://www.morningstartv.com/prophetic-perspective-current-events/japanese-earthquake-prophesied-20-years-ago-part-1

I do have a couple of factual problems with Joyner’s statements–i.e., a one point Richter Scale increase equaling a 10-fold increase in earthquake strength means from say, 4.0 to 5.0, not 4.0 to 4.1. Also he stated the Loma Prieta earthquake occurred during the first game of the World Series in 1989. It did not, it was just before the third game. But the other aspects, particularly the broad sweep of what Bob Jones said is rather sobering. And I am aware that many people, including one I know personally, heard Jones making these predictions 23 years ago.

Watch the clip and tell me what you think!
