Islam’s Persecution of Christians in Malaysia

FP: Welcome The Anti-Jihadist to Frontpage Interview.
I would like to talk to you today about the Muslim persecution of Christians in Malaysia. But first, tell us a bit about your background and how you arrived to being who you are.
The Anti-Jihadist: In order to protect my identity, I’d rather not get into too many specifics about my background, for reasons I hope you and your readers understand. Suffice it to say that I grew up in a middle class, educated family where the discussion of politics and other ‘sensitive’ topics was encouraged. I grew to appreciate and then embrace this intellectual sort of freedom.
As I grew older, I began to notice differences between what I heard the government say or what was taught in school, and what was really happening in the world, but I learned to keep such thoughts to myself in order to get along. Then 9-11 happened and it turned the world upside down, my own perception of it in particular. I wanted to be surprised that Muslims had carried out mass murder explicitly in the name of Islam, but I wasn’t. Another shock for me was when I found out that the Muslims — jihadists, Al Qaeda members and others — who planned the attacks in New York and Washington had had a big planned meeting right here in Kuala Lumpur (the capital and biggest city in Malaysia) in early 2000. And the conspiracy theories about 9-11, the increased appearance of anti-Semitic diatribes in Malaysian bookshops (one tome by Henry Ford is popular here) were things that I simply could not turn a blind eye to anymore.” Read more.

In 1987, after graduating from U of Oregon, I toured SE Asia with my friend Pat. I went into my first mosque in Kuala Lumpur. We started to go in with shorts on, and some guys at the door told us we needed to come back with long pants, which we did. There wasn’t a service or anything, just men hanging out, praying.
Afterward I went into a nearby Muslim bookstore. It was mostly books in Malaysian or Arabic, but there was one small, inexpensive book that was in English, which I purchased. I don’t think I ever read much of it, just mostly scanned it. It was full of ….hmmm…really violent, big talking, mega-maniacal, pompous, invective…that was the impression I got. From it I got my first, up close understanding that Islam was really evil.
I don’t think I just happened to pick out the one book in the bookstore that was that way, although at the time, that is what I thought–how did I end up with this one? I don’t have it any more–its been long gone.
But Malaysia has many Chinese, who are allowed to be Christians, Buddhists or whatever. The native “bomaputra” (I still remember that word!) are not allowed to be anything but Muslim. I wonder if someday soon Malaysia and Singapore, where I have a lot of friends, including my brother-in-law, is going to erupt.

I never really lived in tornado country (although our recent tornadoes in N. Calif. belie that statement), but back in Pgh, PA, where I lived from ’94 to ’02, we did have some pretty severe thunderstorms and a couple of twisters. Just before a really big storm would come through, there would be a sort of eerie, green twilight…the ‘calm before the storm’, before all hell broke loose. That’s what my spiritual antenna is picking up right now, particularly regarding Christians in these predominantly Muslim countries…pack up and get out!
God’s people are implored to “come out of her”, meaning the ‘harlot’, in Rev 18:4, the purpose being to not participate in her sins and the judgment she will incur. It doesn’t say in order to avoid persecution, but I suppose one could deduce this from Rev 20:4, which discusses those beheaded for their refusal to take the mark of the beast.
