Allahu Akbar – An Assertion of Individual Superiority Through Collective Superiority

05/15/2011 1 comment

I encourage everyone to read this excellent article by Daniel Greenfield that delves into the Muslim mindset and the intrinsic meaning of ‘Allahu Akbar‘ …

By Daniel Greenfield – Canada Free Press – “No sooner does a Yemeni Muslim begin hammering on the cockpit door shouting “Allahu Akbar”, then the media speculates that he must have gotten confused looking for the bathroom. And on September 11, four groups of Muslim men with boxcutters got confused looking for the nearest post office.

The lead is invariably buried. Paragraphs fly by until it’s mentioned that the confused fellow may have been a Muslim. If it’s mentioned at all. And his cry of Allahu Akbar is translated as God is Great to render it more acceptable to readers. But like so many Islamic translations, it’s right enough to be wrong. Allahu Akbar doesn’t mean Allah is Great, in a ‘Isn’t ‘Allah and the Virgins of Paradise’ a great band’. It’s more like Allah is Greatest or Superior. And if you’re on the right side of the cockpit door, the one doing the shouting ‘Allahu Akbar’ means that Allah is superior to your country and to you. And one of his followers is about to do his best to show you why.” Read more.

Gosh, I’m sure each and every single last member of the mosque were all disgusted and appalled with the revelation that such clandestine activities were taking place under their noses.  Yep, and if anyone had discovered what was going on they would have notified the authorities immediately …

“MIAMI — A Miami imam and two of his sons were arrested Saturday on federal charges they provided some $50,000 to the Pakistani Taliban, designated by the State Department as a terrorist organization, officials said.

Hafiz Muhammed Sher Ali Khan, 76, was arrested after morning services at the Miami Mosque, also known as the Flagler Mosque, where he is an imam. One of his sons, Izhar Khan, 24, an imam at the Jamaat Al-Mu’mineen Mosque in nearby Margate, Fla., was arrested after morning services there. Another son, Irfan Khan, 37, was detained at his hotel room in Los Angeles around the same time. The men are U.S. citizens. Their mosques are not suspected of wrongdoing, officials said.”  Read more.

By Mike Carter – “Federal prosecutors in Spokane are looking into charging an Asotin County man, who was critically injured in a bomb accident last year, with attempting to aid Islamic terrorists.

Joseph Jeffrey Brice, 21, is accused of creating a jihadi website and using it to post bomb-making tips and videos, according to federal sources and documents filed in U.S. District Court in Spokane.

Members of the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force executed several search warrants last week on homes and cars owned or associated with Brice, of Clarkston, who earlier this week was indicted by a Spokane grand jury for manufacturing a powerful improvised explosive device (IED) whose premature detonation nearly killed him in April 2010.” Read more.

“Moving on to the latest developments in Japan’s ongoing nuclear crisis highly radioactive substances were detected in parts of Tokyo.

Japan’s Asahi Shimbun reports about 3,200 and nearly 2-thousand becquerels of radioactive cesium per kilogram were found in the soil of Tokyo districts of Koto and Chiyoda, respectively, from testing conducted between April 10th and the 20th.

This amount is higher than what was found in the prefectures near the Fukushima plant and experts warn that other areas may be subject to radiation contamination as clusters of clouds containing radioactive material remain in the atmosphere.”  Read more.

More than 100 people rushed into the sit-in area on Sunday, lobbing rocks and fire bombs from an overpass and charging toward the few hundred protesters sleeping in the area. Vehicles were set on fire and fires burned in the middle of the street.”  Read more.

How long will it take for Turkey and other Muslim nations to decry the Jews as ‘cold-blooded killers’ for protecting their country against anti-semites, while these same Muslim nations say nothing against Syria for killing 800 and counting anti-government protesters?

Update:  The hypocrisy of Syria knows no bounds – ‘Syria condemns Israel’s criminal acts against protesters …

MAJDAL SHAMS, Golan Heights – “Mobilized by calls on Facebook, thousands of Arab protesters marched on Israel’s borders with Syria, Lebanon and Gaza on Sunday in an unprecedented wave of demonstrations, sparking clashes that left at least 15 people dead in an annual Palestinian mourning ritual marking the anniversary of Israel’s birth.

In a surprising turn of events, hundreds of Palestinians and supporters poured across the Syrian frontier and staged riots, drawing Israeli accusations that Damascus, and its ally Iran, orchestrated the unrest to shift attention from an uprising back home. It was a rare incursion from the usually tightly controlled Syrian side and could upset the delicate balance between the two longtime foes.” Read more.
