Islamists Slaughter Christians in Nigeria, Obama Looks the Other Way

05/06/2011 Leave a comment

By Anna Mahjar-Barducci – “Although Sharia law has existed in Northern Nigeria for a long time, it used to apply only to family matters such as divorce, inheritance and adoption. It was only in 1999 that the governor of the Nigerian Northern State of Zamfara, Alhaji Ahmed Sani, decided to apply Shari law. The governor instead wanted to go farther and to include flogging, stoning, amputation, beheading, and other precepts of Islamic law.. Ever since, the Northern Nigerian States have followed Zamfara’s steps. Under the Sharia law, Nigerian women have been sentenced to death by stoning for adultery, have been forbidden to rent houses and to travel in the same vehicles as men.

African Christians are now fearing for their lives after the recent massacres in Nigeria. Large scale violence from extremist Muslims erupted in Nigeria against the Christian population soon after the results of the country’s presidential elections that took place on April 16th 2011. The outburst of violence started in the north of Nigeria, which has a predominantly Muslim majority, after the victory of President Goodluck Jonathan, a Christian politician. President Jonathan defeated the other presidential candidate, Muhammadu Buhari, a Muslim and former Nigerian President, who was accused of having rigged the electoral process. Jonathan’s victory represented a shift of power in the country to the largely Christian south.

Defeated candidate Buhari’s Muslim supporters took to the streets chanting ‘changi, sai Buhari’ [‘Change must take place and only with Buhari’], and went on a rampage against the Christian supporters of President Jonathan. The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) lamented that in just a few days, over 300 churches were burnt across the country’s northern states; thousands of Christian-owned homes and business were destroyed, and at least 600 Christians were killed. Relief officials estimate that at least 65,000 people have been displaced as a result of the violence, which appears to be one of the worst outbursts of sectarian violence between Muslims and Christians in the country.”  Read more.

The People of the Prince to Come: A Roman-European Antichrist?

Daniel 9:26, “And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof [shall be] with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.”

70ADMany have traditionally believed that since the army that destroyed the city and the sanctuary in 70 AD was considered Roman then this, therefore, must mean that according to Daniel 9:26 the Antichrist would rise out of Europe.  The majority of popular Biblical eschatology teachers today, even in light of events happening on the global stage, still teach an Antichrist who comes out of Europe, a charismatic leader that rises from within the European Union to then lead a One World Government.  Writers have published novels such as the “Left Behind” series promoting it, even Christian movies have been inspired and produced by this very idea.  However, although the people of the prince to come mentioned in Daniel 9:26 may have been considered “Roman” soldiers merely because they were (supposedly) under the command of Rome, many of these same teachers have either ignored or were just not aware of the following very significant fact. LONDON: Furious Bin Laden Supporters Vow to Take Revenge – ‘It is Only a Matter of Time Before Another Atrocity’

05/06/2011 1 comment

By Brendan Abbot – “HUNDREDS of Osama bin Laden supporters clashed with English Defence League extremists today as a ‘funeral service’ for the assassinated terror leader sparked fury outside London’s US Embassy.

Police stepped in to separate the chanting groups amid threats of violence from both sides.

US leaders were branded ‘murderers’ by radicals, who warned vengeance attacks were ‘guaranteed’ and shouted: ‘USA, you will pay.’

Abu Muaz, 28, from east London, said: ‘It is only a matter of time before another atrocity – the West is the enemy.’

Meanwhile, EDL members chanted ‘USA, USA’ as Muslims knelt to pray for bin Laden at the opposite end of the highly-secured embassy, in central London.”  Read more.

Violent clashes outside U.S. Embassy after hundreds of UK Muslims stage mock funeral for ‘murdered’ Bin Laden – “Violent clashes broke out around the world today as thousands of supporters of Osama bin Laden took to the streets to protest at the Al-Qaeda leader’s death.

While many protests took place across the Muslim world, the most extraordinary took place in London, where hundreds of supporters gathered at the U.S. embassy to stage a mock ‘funeral service’ for the slain terror leader.

The violence erupted just days after the city – often dubbed London-istan because of its reputation for Islamic extremism – was branded a major recruiting ground for Al Qaeda…

Over the past decade, the meida reported that London had become a ‘feeding ground for hate’ and a ‘magnet for terrorism’.

The large Muslim community who live there are said to exploit civil liberties and openly preach jihad.

In fact, recent leaked documents showed that Britain’s mosques became an international haven for extremists who enjoyed state benefits while being trained for terrorism.”  Read more.

Islamist Press: “It’s Israel’s Turn to Panic”; “Hizbollah Marches Towards Israel!”

05/06/2011 1 comment

“The radical Islamist Turkish daily Yeni Akit (formerly Vakit) had the headline ‘It’s Israel’s Turn to Panic’ in yesterday’s issue. It wrote that millions of Palestinians were about to march into Israel from Lebanon.

Columnist Ibrahim Karagul of the Islamist Yeni Safak, known to be the semi-official mouthpiece of AKP, also wrote about the pending march under the title ‘Hizbollah Marches to Israel!’

Karagul wrote that a big plan was in the works in Lebanon, that would impact the entire region. He wrote that on May 15, the anniversary of Naqba, Hizbollah and its affiliated organizations would take the Palestinians along and walk towards the Palestinian lands occupied by Israel.

‘It is easy to predict how Israel will react to a huge crowd of people approaching under the umbrella of the (Palestinian) ‘Return Movement’. This march from Lebanon to the occupied territories may spark a new war in the region’ Karagul wrote. He attributed the plan to Iran and Hizbollah’s struggle to hold and keep the ‘Palestinian card’ in their hands, in face of new developments in the region – especially in Syria – that may lead to their losing of Hamas to the influence of the Sunni camp.”  Source.

Thousands of Fish in Lake DuBay Found Dead from Virus

05/06/2011 Leave a comment

By Jeff Starck – “Thousands of black crappies on Lake DuBay and the Stevens Point Flowage are dead of a virus and wildlife officials are trying to figure out why the disease is affecting just one species.

Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources biologists and fisheries technicians learned of the fish kill April 25 and determined that the cause appears to be a virus primarily affecting 3-year-old black crappies.

‘(If it was a widespread problem) other fish would be dying,’ DNR fisheries biologist Tom Meronek said. ‘This is just limited to crappies. We’ve seen cases on other bodies of water (in Wisconsin). This might be a similar virus.’

The symptoms are not consistent with viral hemorrhagic septicemia, or VHS, a virus that has sickened or killed large numbers of fish in the Great Lakes, according to the DNR. Wisconsin has mandated in recent years that all water must be drained from boats to prevent the spread of VHS and other viruses and diseases.”  Read more.

Levee Blast Means Lost Year for Missouri Farmers

05/06/2011 Leave a comment

By JIM SALTER, MICHAEL J. CRUMB – “WYATT, Mo. — Blasting open a levee and submerging more than 200 square miles of Missouri farmland has likely gouged away fertile topsoil, deposited mountains of debris to clear and may even hamper farming in some places for years, experts say.

The planned explosions this week to ease the Mississippi River flooding threatening the town of Cairo, Ill., appear to have succeeded — but their effects on the farmland, where wheat, corn and soybeans are grown — could take months or even years to become clear. The Missouri Farm Bureau said the damage will likely exceed $100 million for this year alone.

‘Where the breach is, water just roars through and scours the ground. It’s like pouring water in a sand pile. There is that deep crevice that’s created,’ said John Hawkins, a spokesman for the Illinois Farm Bureau. ‘For some farmers, it could take a generation to recoup that area.'”  Read more.

High Radiation Found on Seabed Near Fukushima Nuclear Plant; Water Will Reach US West Coast

“Japanese officials say radiation readings are 100 to 1,000 times the normal level on the Pacific seabed near the Fukushima nuclear power plant that was damaged in a natural disaster in March.

Local news media Tuesday quoted the plant’s operator, Tokyo Electric Power Company, as saying that high levels of radioactive materials were found in samples taken from the seabed at points 20 to 30 meters deep.”  Read more.

IAEA: Contaminated water may reach US West Coast – “The International Atomic Energy Agency says radioactive water leaked from the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant in northeastern Japan may reach the West Coast of North America in one or 2 years.

The nuclear watchdog held a briefing for member countries in Vienna on Thursday on the current situation at the plant, which has not been brought under control since the March 11th earthquake and tsunami.

The IAEA said that, based on an analysis of data provided by Japan and other sources, the contaminated water may spread across the Pacific on the Kuroshio current, and reach the coast of North America by next year at the earliest.”  Read more.

Evidence at Bin Laden’s Home Raises Nuclear Concerns

By Eli Lake – “Intelligence analysts are sifting through phone numbers and email addresses found at Osama bin Laden’s compound to determine potential links to Pakistani government and military officials while U.S. officials and analysts raise concerns about the safety of Pakistan’s nuclear materials.

According to three U.S. intelligence officials, the race is on to identify what President Obama’s top counterterrorism adviser, John Brennan, has called bin Laden’s ‘support system’ inside Pakistan. These sources sought anonymity because they are not authorized to speak to reporters.

‘My concern now is that we cannot exclude the possibility that officers in the Pakistani military and the intelligence service were helping to harbor or aware of the location of bin Laden,’ said Olli Heinonen, who served as the deputy director general of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) from 2005 to 2010.

‘What is to say they would not help al Qaeda or other terrorist groups to gain access to sensitive nuclear materials such as highly enriched uranium and plutonium?'”  Read more.

Al Qaeda Confirms Bin Laden Death and Vows Revenge

05/06/2011 Leave a comment

By Erika Solomon – “DUBAI (Reuters) – Al Qaeda confirmed the death of Osama bin Laden on Friday in an Internet message that vowed revenge on the United States and its allies, including Pakistan, according to a statement issued by the Islamist militant group.

Five days after President Barack Obama announced bin Laden’s death in a U.S. raid in Pakistan, al Qaeda confirmed the death of its leader as a historic moment, and vowed not to deviate from the path of armed struggle.

‘In a historic day for the great Islamic nation… the mujahid (holy warrior) Shiekh Abu Abdullah, Osama bin Mohammed bin Laden, God have mercy on him, was killed on the path taken by those before him and will be taken by others after him.’

‘Congratulations to the Islamic umma (community) for the martyrdom of its son Osama.’

The global militant group, which said it will soon release an audio tape made by its leader a week before he died, vowed not to deviate from the path of armed struggle and said bin Laden’s blood ‘is more precious to us and to every Muslim than to be wasted in vain.'”  Read more.
