Kurt – I agree totally with your comments on this my feelings exactly when you say because neither am I but this one I see a bit differently that some — I am not into protecting some sort of turf or belief system–I just want to understand what the bible is saying, and no more. And I’m confident everyone hanging around here agrees.

But I lean to this as being literal – if it is not China it could possibly be the Islamic hordes East of the Euphrates into Gerogia Black sea area etc. Buy my belief and reasons for this is that it is China because??

1) They certainly can put together an army of this size partly due to their one child policy over the last 25 years or so, but there are other reasons as well

2) The color John is speaking about – firery red, blue and yellow are all colors you see through out China historically and currently – the Red Army, red is every where in China even wedding dresses, blue is the dress of the common people again through out CHina so also is yellow the color of their race and yellow also is a color one sees through out China. When you travel through China you see these colors on signage, billboards decor in resuraunts, dress, in their native shows, hotels etc.

3) The weaponry mentioned fire smoke and sulfir seem to me to be modern day weaponry and China is known to have invented fire works and if I recall gun powder as well – also the mens faces like lions if you back into their history this is what they did appeared to look like as warriors riding their horses

I am pretty much basicaly a literalist – my fourth reason is a bit more to explain but it is as follows

4) Rev 1:20 referes to angels as stars! 9:1 also referes to an angel as a star who was given a key to the shaft of the Abyss. The 6th angel who I would consider the main angel or the large star so to speak had the trumpet !! He was instructed to release the 4 angels THAT WERE BOUND and kept ready for THE HOUR – THE DAY – THE MONTH and THE YEAR

Rev 9:14 It said to the sixth angel who had the trumpet, “Release the four angels who are bound at the great river Euphrates.” Rev 9:15 And the four angels who had been kept ready for this very hour and day and month and year were released to kill a third c of mankind. Rev 9:16 The number of the mounted troops was two hundred million. I heard their number

Mao became founded modern day China one year after Israel became a nation in 1949 ( the hinge pin is Israel) – it was his ruthless policies at the expence or cost of tens of millions of his own people lives that brought China eventually into the modern day age and manufacturing power house that we see today. Or UNBOUND China.

The below link is what I find astonding (maybe I am wrong) but some how I do not think so but I will agree it still is a wait and see. The flag of China has one large star (dipicting the angel with the trumpet and four smaller stars the four angels that were bound at the great river the Euphrates. Every day we see Chinas military strength increase – with stealth fighter, aircraft carries – they were the first ones that wanted access to the downed heliocopter with secret technology in Pakistan – they are buying up commodities around the world, iron, rare earth minerals, oil, gas, gold, silver, etc. etc.

Their Naval Ensign flag is REd, Yellow and Blue – their nations flag is Red and Yeloow with the stars I mentioned above

One of their generals once stated that they could afford to lose 600 million people and still have 600 million people left over to repopulate the world. What we see China doing today is exactly what their military phlosphy dictates – say one thing do another – war by a thousand cuts – they have almost all of the worlds money – they are mapping our power plants systems, oil refineries, communication systems all through the internet – their number one priority is cyber espionage – just my thoughts and what I believe that we are seeing

I am a stone importer importing stone from around the world and everyday Sea Cans
arriving at my doors and our shores. I have had this feeling almost a premotion that one day we will see ship loads and ship loads of sea cans arriving at our shores but they will be filled with militay weapons and tens of thousands of troops My question is what would happen shoud the US default on all of the money that it has borrowed from China – would they come to collect ?? Kurt – I admit that I certainly do not have all of the answers and everything may not be as literal as I suggest – but I find it difficult to see Revelations as historical – although there may be parts of it that could be understood as historical. Still a lot of unknowns and a lot of unanswered questions in my mind and sometimes it just seem to get very confusing to say the least.

The 200 million man army may not all be headed to the ME – with 200 million they could pretty much take over the entire world – 50 million to NA – 50 million to South Asia and Australia 75 million to Europe 25 million to the ME – I am just suggesting and guesstimating thoughts here ??? Rev 8 and 9 are chapters about thirds of destruction – Something interesting is that this 200,000,000 man army will also kill one third on mankind – China with just under 1.4 billion people not counting Chinese people around the word is also about 1/3 of the words population??

If a 200,000,000 man army headed to the ME along with the armies of the other nations which would add additional millions maybe the blood would not be 6′ deep and flowing but it would almost be feasible to have dead bodies and human flesh piled up to some fairly great depths – but I do agree with you Kurt that it does seem to be almost impossible from a human perspective. The big question also becomes what about logistics, food, water, transportation, space for movement, fuel for weapons for armies of this size. Also seems impossible does it not.
But than we also know Chinas land is so polluted that it is almost at the end of sustaining a decent way of living thanks to the western world send over their factories so pollution problems and issue would not have to be dealt with back home. China wants and needs space, water, women, oil, timber, minerals, steel, and the list goes on. I read sometime ago in a National Geographic that bees and insects that pollinate are so few that the Chinese have to pollinate fruit trees by hand in some areas of China.

Also I have to agree that the bible does not suggest at least not clearly in many places about this 200,000,000 man army. Dan 11:44 tells us that the A/C will receive report’s from the east and the north that will alarm him, and he will set out in a great rage to destroy and annihilate many. This also seems to indicate that A/C may not have the entire world under his control at least not the North and the east??

Other indirect references that may point to China’s man power playing a major part in this without naming it is that the destruction that the bible talks about will have to involve millions of armed people.

Daniel said – in 12:1 ………that there will be a time of distress such as has not happened from the beginning of nations until then………. Daniel even fainted and fell to the ground with what he seen it was so beyond comprehension with what he seen.

We have Daniel, Joel, Jeremiah, Ezekiel and others that speak of a war like the world has never seen or could even imagine. Even Christ said that if he did not cut the days short no one and nothing would survive

Mt 24:22 If those days had not been cut short, no one would survive, but for the sake of the elect those days will be shortened

I think we will all soon see many things that the human mind could not have imagined just a few years ago. Things seem to be head for a final conclusion on an ever increasing pace.
